During my solo business trip to Manchester, I sought a relaxed atmosphere, positive vibes, and, of course, delectable cuisine. The Michelin guide recommended that I could find all of this at the British bistro bar, Higher Ground, located in the city centre. And they were absolutely correct. Higher Ground truly lived up to its name, standing on a higher ground in terms of quality.
Their seasonal sharing menu offered a delightful blend of simplicity and unforgettable flavors. The dishes were straightforward, devoid of confusing Italian, French, or Japanese terminology often used in describing food. The meal was surprisingly invigorating, a quality I wouldn't typically associate with dinner. Every ingredient in each dish was distinct in flavor, creating a harmonious combination.
What's more, this delightful experience came at a very reasonable price of £66 for a tasting menu paired with a non-alcoholic beverage.
Higher Ground is certainly a place worth remembering and revisiting in the future.
