Toro at Highway Burford - Review - Burford - Cotswolds - The Infatuation
"From the outside, Highway Burford looks like just another pub in the Cotswolds, albeit a lovely one with a chic, dark grey exterior and cobbled entryway. But it’s actually a hotel with a Spanish restaurant, Toro, and the tasty, colourful dishes are a welcome find among so many British pubs and cafes. Come at lunch and you can try one of our favourite dishes here: the garlic-heavy chicken and chorizo butter bocadillo. But the moody room—all handsome brown-gold tiling and chic, aged beams—picks up in the evening, when well-heeled locals and those staying nearby have debriefs over tapas.

Food Rundown
Grilled Garlic & Paprika Chicken Breast, Chorizo Butter, Mojo Verde
This is a good baguette—it’s absolutely stuffed full of chicken and the person making it isn’t shy around a garlic clove. There’s nothing worse than a good sandwich gone dry, but the chorizo butter and herbaceous mojo verde make that an impossibility here.

Peeled Cucumber & Sun Dried Tomato
You’d hope that this dish would be more than the description suggests, but it falls into the “just fine” salad category.

Gambas Pil Pil
The chef has the garlic out again for this one, and we’re not complaining. The prawns are fat and fresh, and the olive oil is laced with herbs.

Perello Olives
We like to think these were put on specifically to soothe Londoners down for the weekend.
