As a Fredericksburg resident, have eaten here many times with no bad experience. My family loves the brown salsa; we go there weekly using the drive through to pick up 2 containers of salsa. The past 4 containers have been so hot, it is inedible. I am that person that's puts hot sauce and spicy peppers on everything. Thinking Hilda's might want to know that the quality of their salsa has changed, we called to speak to either the Manger or kitchen supervisor; my daughter made the call as she is a chef and could speak to the change. Jennifer answered the phone and we got no further. Explaining what we were calling about, her response was that the jalapeños are coming from Mexico and not the usual from California , they are spicier, and that they are still using the same recipe. Then Jennifer asked "do you need to order something"; we told her we just had and that was why we are calling. Her answer to that was the same, "yes, but do you want to order something". It was like she told us the jalapeño story and only wanted us the stay on the line if we ordered something.
Question is, if the jalapeños they are now having to use are too spicy, and they admit that, then why not adjust the pepper ratio? Also I have had hot jalapeños, but it wouldn't surprise me if these were Serrano peppers.
