Orlando’s Best New Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Short for nabemono (Japanese hot pot), Lewis Lin’s wagyu shabu shabu joint ups the ante by tossing Japanese A5 tri-tip, picanha, brisket, short rib, and striploin all from Kagoshima into the pot. Patrons can select from three different wagyu sets (eight ounces for $60; 12 ounces for $80; 24 ounces for $140) and choose three broth variations — kombu, sukiyaki, and yuzu chicken. Seafood and veg sets are also offered, as are various bites ranging from wagyu sandwiches to king crab rolls. Nabe is hidden inside Nola, an ice cream shop, so it makes sense to end with a churro ice cream sandwich" - Faiyaz Kara

We had an incredible dining experience at Nabe last night. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We tried several dishes, including the Seafood Crudo, Wagyu Lumpia, Wagyu Dumplings, Wagyu Sando, Wagyu Rice Box, and the Gold Set Hot Pot. Every single item was packed with flavor and incredibly fresh. The quality of the wagyu stood out in every dish, and the hot pot was a showstopper both in presentation and taste. The ambience was a perfect balance between upscale and inviting, and the service was just as impressive, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. After dinner, we walked next door to their sister ice cream shop, Nola’s, which was the perfect sweet ending to the night. The shop has a stunning interior, with unique and creative flavors that you won’t find anywhere else. The staff there was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. This was easily a 10/10 experience across the board. Nabe (and Nola’s) are must visits if you’re in the area. Highly recommended and can’t wait to come back!

Last night, we were very lucky to snag a soft opening reservation for Nabe, the new wagyu-focused hot pot restaurant in the Dellagio Plaza in Dr. Phillips, and it was as luxurious and delicious as we hoped! Nabe is located inside of Nola's Ice Cream (FANTASTIC post-dinner dessert, btw, delightful Vietnamese-inspired ice creams) through a hidden doorway. The space is beautifully decorated (and the lofi beats playing were absolutely my jam), and the staff members were warm and welcoming, explaiing the menu thoroughly and setting up the hot pot perfectly. Since they're in soft opening, they have a limited menu and no beer/wine/alcohol yet, but it was still very satisfying! We dined on the king crab roll topped with uni (opulence, they have it), seafood crudo, and silver wagyu hot pot set. The hot pot comes with a choice of three broths, and we chose the sukiyaki. I may lean to the kombu broth next time as we found the sukiyaki broth a bit too sweet, but that's our personal taste. The meats and vegetables were perfect! We really enjoyed our first time at Nabe (and Nola's!), and we can't wait to go back to enjoy their full menu! Congratulations to the entire Nabe and Nola's team!

While the concept of wagyu hotpot is luxurious and sounds amazing, the actual experience was a little disappointing. It made me realize that wagyu is a little too fatty to be in hotpot. I could barely have a few pieces before it was too rich for me. However their wagyu rice box and wagyu katsu sando are great. Also, the little cooktop built-in to the tables is too low powered, so it takes a long time for the broth to boil and cook food. Service was attentive, and prices are what you expect for wagyu. Vibes are definitely there too.

I’ve followed Khoa & Keren for years now and last night was mine and my boyfriends second time here at Hinabe to share the new Hinabe special. It is such a great deal for 3 menu items and 2 drinks! My boyfriends favorite item was the wagyu sandos and mine was the tiger salad + the house made soy sauce. We also shared a Kirin light and I wish I would have gotten my own lol. This will definitely be our new date night spot. Anthony was our server and he was awesome! Very attentive and super nice! He explained the menu items well too. The Hostess is super sweet as well!

Literally behind a hidden wall of an ice cream shop. This place is an up and coming hidden gem of Orlando. Choices of seafood, wagyu, and vegetarian can be found but of course, don't leave without trying the wagyu shabu shabu! You'll definitely be coming back for more. 😂 The service was fantastic. Major props go to Anthony who was a great host and waiter for the evening. Explained the entire menu and gave great recommendations. The music was at a decent volume and very enjoyable. Kinda hipster trendy club music without being loud and obnoxious and still being able to talk with each other and not be yelling. Overall, even though they are still at their public soft opening phases, I'm expecting them to get very popular very quickly amongst the foodie community. I'm seeing a Michelin star in their future for sure! I highly recommend it! A++++++!

My friends & I have been wanting to try this place for a while now — as before they officially opened, we got a tour of the restaurant while waiting for our ice cream in the ice cream shop. So we were super excited to try, yet extremely disappointed. The concept is cool: a hidden “high end” restaurant in an ice cream shop. But if you’re going to be a hidden restaurant that people have to find, you better have the best food/drink/service. The waitress wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu and wasn’t very attentive. There was no bar menu. The hotpot is overpriced for the quality (do NOT get the sweet soy broth — it tastes literally like straight soy sauce with a little water added). We never got our appetizer. We got the diamond package for meats and split it between four people — we each got additional broth + noodles/rice — as apparently it’s “per person” but there was PLENTY of food. I just think they try to get away with charging you $70-$165 (depending on the package) per person by saying it’s personal size. The wagyu meat was good in my opinion, but that’s all they have — there’s no selection of meats. The music was very loud we were yelling to each other to try to talk. Whenever we finally got our food, there was a loud group at the bar & they break out a mic and a girl starts singing karaoke. I think one of the guys either owned the place or was a friend…it was just very weird. Very weird experience all around. We probably won’t be back. I get they are new & need some time to grow & work out the small issues. So we’ll see down the road but they have a long way to improve. SHOUTOUT to the bartender Huy though — he’s awesome & if you go there ask for him!

This restaurant is amazing! The Wagyu beef made my kids literally melt. I felt like we were in a high-end Japanese restaurant. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went to Nabe last night for our first anniversary date night, and it was truly unforgettable. It was our first time dining there, and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing service—especially from our incredibly kind and attentive server, Sheila. Every detail, from the impeccable presentation to the phenomenal taste of the food, exceeded our expectations. To top it all off, the staff surprised us with complimentary prosecco and the sweetest anniversary treat from Nola’s ice cream—it was such a thoughtful touch that made the night even more special. I’ve never been happier to be a local! We’re already planning to make Nabe our anniversary tradition from here on out. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We came here for date night on a Saturday evening at 7pm. Parking was limited since this is a busy plaza but we were able to find street parking nearby. The restaurant has a speakeasy entrance through Nola's ice cream shop which makes it a pretty neat entry. The decor is very modern and clean; sadly there was only one other table occupied which really surprised us. We ordered the wagyu rice box and the wagyu silver set hot pot. The wagyu in the rice box was tender and fatty, definitely worth the money. The hot pot was also delicious but obviously the portions aren't your typical hot pot portions as it is Wagyu beef. It was still enough for us to feel plenty satiated after the meal. Our server was outstanding and we really enjoyed the experience. We just hope this place survives since we went on a peak night and it wasn't very busy. I presume it's due to the relatively steep price point but I would highly recommend checking out this place to celebrate a special occasion.

Yelp
If you're a wagyu lover, Nabe in Orlando is the place to be. I came in craving the Wagyu Sando, and it completely blew me away -- buttery-soft wagyu, perfectly fried milk bread, and that rich, savory flavor that just melts in your mouth. Easily one of the best bites I've ever had! But the real surprise? The Wagyu Box. It's beautifully presented and packed with variety very tender wagyu slices, thoughtful sides, and every component seasoned and cooked to perfection. It felt like a luxe, elevated bento experience with serious attention to detail. I left already thinking about my next visit. These dishes aren't just delicious -- they're memorable. Highly recommend both if you want to treat yourself!

Yelp
Been here twice already and im counting down the days until we get to go back. First of all, the concept is insanely cool. A hidden speakeasy dinning experience in an aesthetically pleasing Vietnamese ice cream shop?? Count me in! Second of all, the price is quite expensive buttt the quality is definitely there. And this is coming from the girl that just went to japan for a 12 hr layover and ran to try all the wagyus they had over there to compare! Youll want to bring a friend to try the wagyu sando.its definitely fatty but will give your taste buds an experience of a lifetime. Literally melts in your mouth. We also fell in love with the rice boxes! You really cant go wrong. Theres just so much richness and packed with all the flavors you could ever want. Im not quite a fan of Japanese style hot pot, buttt definitely give it a try if youre curious!

Yelp
First of all, the speakeasy entrance is so cool ! Diners feel transported from an adorable ice cream shop to a very cool restaurant. There Is a gorgeous bar and lot of group seating where the tables themselves heat up for the hotpots. Now onto the food, there was not a single bite I did not LOVE! The food was incredible. The Wagyu in every dish just melts in your mouth. The Sando definitely being the highlight but the rice box with the egg yolk mixed in was incredible. The hot pot was a really fun experience and very well explained. We got a side of each sauce and did the miso broth which was so tasty. It was easy to cook and so yummy!! I can't wait to come try more!

Yelp
Amazing! This is a hidden hot pot place inside Nola's ice cream. Great ambiance inside with attention to detail. For example the chopstick holders were all different and the dishes and bowls were all pretty and unique. The food was delicious! Everything we ordered was great, but the wagyu sandwiches were definitely the star of the appetizers by far. We ordered two hot pot broths, the chicken one and the spicy Szechuan broth. The spicy Szechuan broth was by the best spicy hot pot broth I've had. Very flavorful and the perfect amount of spice. The meat was melt in your mouth tender. Excellent service and our server was very attentive who also brought out some samples of a different broth we didn't order. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
What first impressed me was the entrance of this being located inside of an ice cream shop! I love speakeasy's and it was very unique. They specialize in Wagyu and we tried a lot of menu items. Everything was pretty good but I think just a tiny bit of salt would have went a long way. My whole group agreed. The most flavorful dish was the Wagyu rice box that didn't need anything else added. My friend who typically eats beef tar tar ordered it and said it didn't taste right and that night she threw up the food. The next morning she was having a horrible time. Me and my other friend didn't have these effects and we were the only ones who ate everything except the beef tar tar. Just keep that in mind. Overall a good vibe/ambiance and I'd come back here with my hubby as a date night. It was also nice to come here with friends too! The servers were very kind!

Yelp
We visited Nabe for our anniversary, as at the price point, it is a special occasion place for us. However, the price is definitely matched to the quality, as these were top notch items. We opted for the sando, rice box, and the smallest portion for the hot pot. Everything was really good. My favorites were the hot pot and the sando. They were also kind enough to give us a scoop of the taro ice cream from Nola for our anniversary.

Yelp
First timer at Nabe at Dr. Phillips Friendly service. Great staff. All the workers are amazing and the owner himself is such a funny guy. I had a great dining experience at Nabe Japanese restaurant. My favorite dishes were the lumpia and the wagyu sando--both packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. I also tried the seafood rice box, which was refreshing and filling, though the rice itself was a bit hard. The open space and diverse food choices really enhanced the experience. While the menu is small (just front and back), it offers enough variety to be satisfying. The wagyu beef was incredibly flavorful, making up for the tough rice in the box. Portion sizes were generous, and the pricing was reasonable, especially for a fine dining restaurant. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely come back.

Yelp
This restaurant was a cool experience. The space is shared with a cute ice cream shop and there was a hidden entrance to get in. The decor was very unique, elegant, and modern. The service was really good. Our server was very helpful and friendly and knew the menu very well. He made great recommendations that didn't disappoint. I wish I remembered his name ( he had glasses). The wagu was excellent and melted in your mouth. I had the miso hot pot and I wasn't really thrilled with that but the wagu, and appetizers were good.

Yelp
One of the best shabu shabu experiences in Orlando! We got the sukiyaki broth which was flavorful and came with seasonal veggies. The sauces were also really good!! Don't sleep on the wagyu tartar either! You could tell they use high quality ingredients. Service was alittle bit slow because it is a newer restaurant which I am sure will improve once the kinks are hashed out! Please give them patience! Ambiance is super moody in a romantic way. For me I feel it is more of a speakeasy modern vibe and menu catered towards adults, but people decided to bring their children with them when I went!

Yelp
The first Japanese hot pot in Orlando! Currently doing soft opening on a few days so not open to public yet. They have a lot of Wagyu items including Wagyu hot pot, Wagyu sando, Wagyu dumplings, and more. They also have good seafood items as well. We tried silver set 8oz wagyu hot pot, seafood set, and Wagyu dumplings. The ingredients are good, I expected the Wagyu items to be good and they sure were. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of seafood items, they are great and worth it for the seafood set. Our server was very nice and helpful. The vibe was very nice and it's fun to enter the restaurant through a secret door in Nola ice cream shop. It is pricey but that's to be expected for anything Wagyu. Overall I would recommend trying them out!

Yelp
The place is hidden inside of an ice cream shop. It was casual dining vibe for all of us that night. We got 2 golden hot pot sets: Pho and Spicy Szechuan. I would rate the Pho broth to be a 7/10. Spicy Szechuan however would rank higher at 8/10. Our server did a great job explaining things for us. I thought the golden sets wouldn't be enough but we ended up having so much leftovers. We also had the Wagyu rice box and that was 9/10. Highly recommend you try the rice box! We went kinda late so we didn't get a chance to try the ice cream but maybe next time!

Yelp
First thing first, I called Jules, the receptionist, she was so sweet and walked me through how to get to the restaurant. Entrance was so cool! Service was amazing and so was the ambiance. Don was our server and he was absolutely knowledgeable and friendly!! We got the Wagyu rice box, seafood crudo, and the silver set hot pot. Perfect amount of food for two! Quality was unmatched and world class. For sure coming back to explore the menu more!!

Yelp
Omg it's hard to put into words how great the food is. I was excited to try this place and was not disappointed the place looks amazing the food was another level and can't wait to go back and have my socks knocked off again and again.

Yelp
Very cool location and even better staff. It's hidden inside an ice cream shop and all the staff are very friendly! The dumplings are a 10/10 I recommend starting with those

R N.

Yelp
We went on their first night open. Ambiance was great! I loved the seafood rice dish. The wagyu was very underwhelming. We ordered the Sando and dumplings. The sando was pretty bland. I think maybe our wagyu was overcooked and there was no flavor. The beef did not melt in our mouths and was tough to chew. We ended up dipping our sando into the sauce that comes with the dumplings. However, we understood that they are still in the soft opening and there is always room for improvement. The Wagyu dumplings were good but really oily (which is understood!). Overall, nothing really enticed us to want to come back but we did enjoy the experience.

Yelp
We went to Nabe for the soft opening. The A5 Wagyu is amazing! We order the Wagyu lumpia and dumplings for appetizers and then ordered the Wagyu rice box and seafood crudo for dinner. Normally I am not a big fan of raw fish but the combination of seafood on the platter gave each piece a lot of flavor. The server was awesome- he gave descriptions of every item on the menu like he had worked there for years! The restaurant is cozy and the decor is simply amazing. Also, the ceramic animal chopstick holders are an adorable touch on the tables. You must try this restaurant especially since you can enjoy their ice cream shop for dessert after dinner!
