"If you visit Hip Hound, a boutique pet supply store in NW Portland, you can’t miss the Java Hound coffee stand, which greets you as you enter. Not only can you order a full range of coffee, tea, and baked goods from Small Baking Company at this micro-coffeeshop, but each drink comes with a complimentary puppaccino: a shot of goats milk topped with freeze-dried treats for your pup. Hip Hound also features an incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff who have perfected the art of CBD-infused drinks." - Kara Stokes

The workers were really friendly, there’s a great selection of toys and supplies but we utilized their bakery. We got a cake for my dogs first birthday, to the tune of 108 dollars, I knew it was spendy but i thought I’d support local, and it was my pups big day. Unfortunately the cake didn’t stay pretty as expected, despite being refrigerated. The box said it would be good for 4 days, but after 24 hours my cake started trying to disintegrate on itself :( food for thought! These photos are 24 hours apart.

Best selection of dog clothes I have seen. They had everything you may need and more. Tons of plush toys and puzzle toys to keep your dog entertained and develop their brain. Tons of cute accessories too!

This store is great, they had a lot of patience for when I had to come in three different times to exchange harnesses to get the right size. They were also somehow able to exchange my cats brand new bed that he never used for a bed that looked like the one he’d been stealing from my dog, so now he has his own matching dog bed he now uses so often he doesn’t sleep with me anymore :( but it is a great bed, 10/10 perfect for him. He thinks he has two now but he needs to learn to share with the dog. Also got a bazillion treats and catfood with every time I had to go in for an exchange, so my cat Lemon was very happy. Here’s pics of him with both beds, his new one in darker gray and the dogs bed. And a pic of him in his harness! Thank you guys at hip hound again for being so wonderful and able to help me out with so many exchanges over the course of the past few weeks.

Found this store because it was next to a pizza place I was trying this week. My dogs birthday is next week and they had handmade birthday cakes! Price is pretty spendy but my dog said it was worth it. They make dog tacos, other little dough balls also. 10/10, support this small business!

I love this little store so much. It often has tiny clothes and toys that fit my tiny chihuahua as well as my golden retriever. I got my dogs first birthday cake here in April.

I was walking on this side of Portland just exploring, welI I stumbled across Hip Hounds. I walked on in because I owned 2 dogs, so I wanted to get them a little something special. "Warning" be prepared to spend some money($$$) If you do decide to shop here. I was expecting the prices to be more like a Petco or a Petsmart situation, but this place is fancy, I guess. They sell harnesses, leashes, collars, beds, toys, dog food, and many other accessories. They do have a small cat section with a cat Food and cats accessory , but it's mostly a dog owner store from my perspective. I was looking at the dog jackets because I was like. "Okay, my little dog can use a nice little warm jacket." But when I saw the prices, my mind was blonde🤯 $50-$100+ for a dog coat/jacket. Overall, the atmosphere in the store was great. There were a lot of people, and everybody was lively and chatting about their pets. The people working there are quite helpful. They gave good advice and were to find things. There is a coffee bar for the pet owners to enjoy. As well as a pet bakery filled with treats and all different types of goodies for your pet to enjoy if you do decide to buy some for your pet. You can also bring your pets in store if you want, they do allow it.

Google
This pet store is awesome and the people are friendly. Their selection is the most unique I’ve seen at any pet store. So many cool products to get for your pets!

Google
I LOVE this little pet supply store. They carry Primal Kitchen goat milk as well as some of my dog’s favourite treats! The workers are friendly and the bakery always has the most delicious looking goodies on display. We recently ordered a birthday for our rescue dog Kershaw. They made him a little custom baseball topper instead of a tennis one. Needless to say, our dog LOVED it and the cake itself. Thank you, Hip Hound!

Yelp
I had the opportunity to swing by Hip Hound to grab some supplies for my girlfriends dog and was very impressed. Looking at the fresh baked treats and assortment of toys/treats was impressive. I asked for help and the team there went out of their way to help the anxiety of not knowing what I was doing go away. They were honest in their feedback on what was needed and what was available to add additional treats/luxuries which I definitely did. I did buy a dozen of the baked treats and "Jax" loved them! Amazing team, fun environment, adorable dogs coming in and out. I even won a drawing for a prize at the end of October. I would recommend this local business to anyone and will definitely be returning. Thank you for all your help!

Yelp
This store was so cute! I loved the display of specialty dog treats as you walk in. If you're looking for a gift or just something extra fun to spoil your pup these are a great option. They also had a huge variety of treats, toys, harnesses and more! Some areas are a bit cluttered, where you have to dig through bins to discover items and I found a toy that already had a rip in it while I was there. But, overall this is a superstore for everything you could want to spoil your dog and you'll fine a good variety of local and small businesses represented here.

Yelp
I got my Frenchie a cake for his birthday from Hip Hound last year and he loved it. So I decided to get one for my rat terrier this year for his 12th birthday. I didn't realize that when I picked it up, the cake said 3 on it instead of 12. I live in Vancouver and it was not worth my time and gas to drive all the way back to Portland just to get the right number, so I went to the dollar store and got stickers and numbers to fix it. I wish when I called the store to let them know about it, that they would have offered some type of credit or compensation for the mistake, but they didn't.

Yelp
Started going here with my wife after our last pet store didn't work out. One day while shopping we were checking out paying for some expensive thing some unnecessary thing, the lady waiting on us said to me, "Oh my goodness there she is again, you treat her so nice buying her everything" to our dog. The gal behind the counter with glasses (she introduced herself as the "barkery manager" card and all) said those treats in the front counter are made fresh in house. We decided to try out a cupcake with the fish for our dog. Lo and behold, she came down with a bad case of the runs, as well as vomiting. Thought it might be an aversion to the fish or some other ingredient, but I tried another flavor and by golly it happened again. That manager cut me off many times and was snarky and rude saying how it's impossible this happened and implied I was lying. They say ,whoever they is "you learn very little from success" and I have learned a bunch over my lifetime. Just try not to repeat the same mistakes and call it lessons learned. I can't believe the experience and hope to spread the word of this toxic place

Yelp
This store is a vibe! The bake the doggie pastries every single day. They are well decorated and look so tasty they are seriously so cute. They have a great selection of dog beds and clothing. We went looking for bow ties for my friends kitties and they have tons of little bows. They also have a little cat area which is much appreciated. I had a blast here and the staff was super welcoming and knowledgeable.

Yelp
I am absolutely furious with the quality of treats from Hip Hound's bakery! My grandpa's poor dog had the misfortune of trying their so-called "delicacies," and it turned into a nightmare. Firstly, the treats looked nothing like the pictures on their website. They were stale and smelled odd, to say the least. My grandpa's dog took a bite, and within hours, she was violently ill. It's heartbreaking to see a pet suffer, especially one that my grandpa cares for so deeply. We had to rush the poor pup to the vet, where they confirmed it was a severe case of food poisoning. The vet told us it was likely caused by those dreadful treats from Hip Hound. My grandpa was devastated, and I'm absolutely livid! Hip Hound, you should be ashamed of yourselves for selling such low-quality, harmful products. Not only did it cost my grandpa a hefty vet bill, but it also caused unnecessary pain and suffering to his beloved companion. This experience has left us deeply disappointed and frustrated. We will never set foot in your store again, and I strongly advise others to steer clear of this place as well. Shame on you, Hip Hound! To make matters worse, my grandpa went back to Hip Hound to voice his concerns. Instead of showing empathy or responsibility, the bakery manager argued with him, insisting it was impossible that their treats had caused harm. Her attitude was not only unhelpful but downright rude and unprofessional!

Yelp
If you are as obsessed with your dog as I am you have come to the right place! This store is phenomenally well stocked and their barkery (bakery) is absolutely adorable. My dog had the best cake ever from here! We enjoy buying supplies and gifts here and the staff are always so welcoming and kind to their furry customers. Hip Hound is a gem of a shop and we always look forward to our visits and seeing what's new in stock. DEFINITELY check this place out!

Yelp
I brought my puppy in today for his first Birthday...We had not been there before, but you were highly recommended by a neighbor, who also happens to be a groomer. WHAT AN AWESOME AND AMAZING PLACE!...Super-Friendly staff, with TONS of goodies from the floor to the ceiling! We found so many neat things ( including a last- minute cake!) , and will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!

Yelp
I found The Hip Hound after doing a quick search online looking for a local place to make my precious Penelope a cake. Not only do they do custom order cakes, they also offer a rush order option for $20! I ordered a beef / peanut butter cake and four peanut butter bacon cupcakes for the other dogs. Penelope is a picky eater but loved the cake and the other dogs loved their cupcakes! Penelope has a sensitive stomach so I was a little worried, how she would do with the cake - she had an appropriate sized slice on her birthday yet no issues with tummy! The next day after her dinner she had another slice and has been wonderful. The cake is rather large and depending on slice sizes can serve multiple dogs at the party. HH also has a small clothing selection, toys, beds & treats, but I didn't have that long to shop so I just picked up my order I had placed easily online and got ready for the party. I'll continue to recommend the "barkery" and hopefully soon I can pop in to look around more.

Yelp
Like a dog, I dig this place! Walking past at first, we didn't think to check this place out only because we didn't have our little "Fiona dog", aka "Tha 'il Nana" with us, but we decided to check out The Hip Hound anyways. Plus we needed coffee and noticed they've got a little coffee stand right at the entrance. Odd? Yes, but convenient and different. And they sure did make a mean cup of joe might add! A coffee/dog shop, eh that's Portland for ya! Can't miss the Java Hound Coffee Bar at the entrance. As for The Hip Hound itself, you walk into a fancy pet boutique with nearly everything to pamper your dog or other pet. They've got dog clothes, new leashes, new collars, really really plush dog beds, fancy treats and food, some CBD products for pets, and winter-wear! When it comes to Portland and the rain, my mutt hates it. We've tried on raincoats in the past, only Tha 'il Nana would rather play statue and stare at you with that mean WTF look on her face. We found a good one for her called BF Pet. Pretty expensive, but it fits snug and she likes it. No worries Sarah McLachlan, my mutt is dry and comfy! A lot of things actually were pricey in this shop, but it's expected. Plus I'd rather support these locals versus the P-co and P-smart. The staff was helpful, and the toys were plenty! One of the ladies even found what we were looking for. Fiona's favorite type of toy; The fuzzy one with the plastic bottle insert. And this toy had a squeaker on the cap too. She's still killing and enjoying it. If you've got your furry friend with you, I definitely recommend stopping by. Your pet deserves a treat or two!

Yelp
Well,,,,this was my first time and hundred percent last time spending money here!! Visit turned out to be disappointing all around....I spent a LARGE amount of $$ on treats from display case,,, hoping to spoil my dog for special occasion.....my pup refused to even taste them, wasted my time and $$$!! I tried to return treats or exchange but girl working told me no because I opened treats,,,,, she was VERY rude and had attitude towards me that was unnecessary. None of the treats were eaten! I was not rude or upset until I was treated so badly and was getting nowhere with girl working....The employee is a brunette girl who wears glasses,,,,, unfortunately I did not get her name but Are you kidding me with this level of customer service???? If you can even call it that?? Perhaps employees need better training or replaced!!A stores success relies on how staff treats customers, this was definitely a big fail!!! the prices for the treats were outrageously high also,, especially when my dog wouldn't eat it!!! Biggest problem was the rude employee though!! Never experienced anything like it,she seemed to be pleased that I was upset,,, very odd. Sad because I was looking forward to treating my dog to something special..

Yelp
Fantastic customer service! Wow!! So Impressed with the attention and help given to help us find our two little doggies their new harnesses. We have a 3 pound teacup Pom and a 4 pound Chihuahua. We've ordered harnesses off Amazon and because of their tiny sizes it's hard to find the right fit! We went to another pet store near the beach that was no help at all! We ended up buying the wrong items several times. Here, our girls, were greeted with treats and love. The store associate was so helpful, helping try on harnesses, to the point where she was sitting on the floor store, holding our dogs, giving it her all, trying to help us figure out a solution. Yes, these products were much more expensive than we usually buy BUT it was so worth it! Instead of buying tons of cheap stuff that wasn't right we got something quality with EXCELLENT customer service! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
It was another cold day and my senior pup Fionanabear would not get up from her heater-warmed-apartment to go for a walk around Portland Proper...Ron R. & I went shopping without her and of course bought all types of goodies for her because she's our only child. It's a tad pricey but worth the quality, customer service and supporting local shops. We purchased a raincoat, a merlot bottle stuffed with a plastic water bottle(replaceable with any used bottled water), a squeaky duck and a rose vanilla latte for myself. Did I mention they have a coffee shop inside serving coffee creations like lattes to humans and puppiccionos available for your fur babies too? Swing by this little gem of a dog boutique and your pups will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Love to visit the store everytime I'm in the area. The shop is full of fun toys, and all the puppy and kitty essentials. The prices are a bit high for regular buys for me but to a special treat, snack, or toy this place is perfect. If you're in the area I suggest taking a spin inside and seeing if you can fit something special for your furry friends.

Yelp
I placed an order with Hop Hound for my Bella's 15th birthday. Sadly Bella ended up passing 2 days before her birthday. I completley forgot about my cake order and did not pick it up. I received a call to remind me about my cake & informed the employee I spoke with that Bella had passed. I told them they can give the cake away. I never asked for a refund as this obvisouly does not fall on Hip Hound. However, not long after speaking with the employee I received an email stating a refund had been processed for my order. They did not have to do that & I just wanted them to know that this gesture was completley appreciated & for people to know how kind this business is.

Yelp
Hip Hound is a pet store I miss the most since moving away from Portland. There's a small coffee bar to your left for the dog owners, loads of dog toys and clothes, and a huge selection of quality foods. Thanks to Hip Hound my dog owns more sweaters and rain jackets than I do. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
google avatar

Yelp
I recently moved from Portland the Hip hound was the only place I could find my cats favorite toy (these are some of the only things in life she truly loves). Once she destroyed the last of them, and I couldn't find them in local shops, I contacted the hip hound. They responded the next day and worked with me to ship the cat toys to my new address! Every interaction I had with them (and previously while I lived in PDX) they were so considerate and helpful. This is my absolute favorite pet shop in Portland and has extremely considerate people working there and running the store. Support local shopping and one of PDX's best pet stores!!

Yelp
The Hip Hound is a definite "must visit" spot if you have four legged friends of the canine variety. The store is stocked with a wide variety of dog food, treats, toys and a wide variety of other items. The quality of products that this location carries have all been found to be of top quality as well, in my experience at least. The store is pretty well organized and has an easy to follow flow to it, making it a simple yet fun journey either browsing the store for unknown treasures or finding exactly what you were looking for. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly who will give you a warm greeting from the moment you walk in to helping you find what you seek throughout your visit. The pricing is what you would expect - this is a higher end store after all but they are still reasonable. For those who enjoy or need a coffee fix, they also have a little coffee stand right at the front entrance so you can get your caffeine jolt as you shop. I do really like this store and will miss shopping here as I have moved away. A definite gem in downtown Portland.

Yelp
A happy place. They've got great toys, treats, clothes, beds, carriers, etc. Always fun to shop here and the sales people are always really nice.

Yelp
I encountered an incredibly rude female staff member with shoulder length dishwater blonde hair during our visit to this store. I would not have mentioned this experience had the truffle we purchased not caused my dog to develop diarrhea. There are a plethora of great pet stores to support in the Pacific Northwest--this is not one of them.
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
Such a cute pet store!!!! It serves mainly for dog and cat owners. They have a lot of private and local vendors that serve as the main merchandise offering. There is a large offering for pet clothing for small to x-large dogs and accessories. If you are in the area for Portland favorites like Salt and Straw or Bluestar doughnuts, make sure to stop by here to get super cute accessories for your pets. Organic and all natural treats are definitely something that you can be sure to find here too. They take credit or cash - and they just started to accept Apple Pay!
google avatar

Marc A.

Yelp
This place is my go-to for hip stuff my dog Louis. I just ordered a cake for his bday and turned out great! Love this place and the people are always friendly and they carry my favorite CBD pet treats which are Lazarus Naturals.

Yelp
Think of your favorite retail store, but for dog and is hip. I'm a true believer that dogs deserve their own stores, the truth is that they're better than humans most of the time. This store gives a local boutique vibe, is super friendly, good selections, and reasonable pricing. I bought some Shih Tzu socks for myself, they literally had almost every breed and was nicely organized alphabetically to make it easy for me to find. Now I can match with my dog and people will be able to tell I'm a crazy dog lady that is not interested in giving up a night with my dog to go out for a drink with you. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Yelp
If you love your dog or cat a little too much*, this store is for you. Everything you need (and probably don't need) to pamper your pet can be found here. Since I have a dog and not a cat, that's the perspective. The buyers for this boutique definitely have taste. The doggie outfits and beds are mostly quite fashionable and fun. Also, they're pretty damn expensive. But hey... sweaters and hats for your puppers is a luxury! The toy collection is pretty impressive and diverse and they make me wish my dog actually had an interest in toys. They've also got plenty of food and supplements and so forth. Long story short? They've got you covered! Also, kinda random: it's also a coffee shop? I can't say that I've ever grabbed coffee from here, and I don't understand the correlation between the two concepts, but hey! Portland loves coffee! * I kid, I kid. I love the heck out of my #1 bud Samson. I just don't have all this disposable income to spoil him in the Hip Hound fashion.

Yelp
Came here last week for my dogs 4th birthday on 4/19! Amazing options for our four legged friends! We got our dog 4 dog friendly cup cakes, a Hawaiian shirt, an octopus tuff toy, & some new chuckit balls. The staff was friendly and hospitable! We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the cutest pet stores I've visited. And not only does it have a huge selection of items, the staff is super friendly. Thank you for your enthusiasm and we appreciate it! There were toys, treats, tags, magnets, clothes and even apparel for humans! They're so considerate and even have bowls of water out front for your furry friend. And not just 1 bowl, different levels and height so all dogs of shapes and sizes can sip comfortably.

Yelp
This place has become somewhat of a joke. Have a large breed dog and was looking to buy the maximum size coat for him. After perusing and looking through dozens of coats, the three staff working behind the counter were gossiping with each other and not helping a single customer in the store. After preparing to lay down $100 for a coat, I wasn't sure if it would be the right size so I asked if I could return it (an exchange would be useless since there's no size larger). The chubbier girl with the poorly dyed hair behind the counter smirked and said: "definitely no refunds but you have 14 days for in store credit or exchanges." I clarified that there is nothing larger to exchange to do would it still be ok. Nope. This place is overpriced, and while I'm all for supporting local businesses by paying higher prices, I definitely don't allow for poorer service than I'd receive from Amazon or other etailer. They have some decent Himalayan dog chews, but unless you're desperate, I'd recommend finding another local pet shop to help you or purchase from.

Yelp
Purchased a dog brush for $56.00 called my mom to let her know I wouldnt have to vacuum everyday now! She told me I purchased one for your dog for Christmas for $33.00 at Petco literally the same brush. (If you dont believe me I have pictures of both brushes and both receipts) I walked back in maybe 20 mins later on the same day to let them know what happened. "Policy is in store credit or exchange only within 14 days with receipt and tags" The brush never left the bag, never used, and they charged almost double of what the brush actually costs.. yah this will be my friend and I's last time. No I really dont want to exchange especially after being burned. $5.00 more or less here and there that's fine... but a $23.00 market price increase for the same exact brush.. no thanks.

Yelp
Loved this spot - we got a dog scarf (!! see photo) for our little woofer, and tried on about another dozen clothing items. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also picked up a couple vegan baked goods, kombucha, and TWO puppaccinos (both gifts), and ended up getting a pug painting on the way out. Quite hip indeed.

Yelp
Even as a cat owner, I always find a lot of amazing items for affordable prices that keep my fur babies amused. That said, this place is not recommended for those who don't have souls (AKA people who hate dogs).

Sherrie S.

Yelp
I was visiting Portland a few months ago and stumbled upon this store. Loved the look of the store, the staff was friendly and I found some toys for my two boys at home. The boys loved their toys. They were just small stuffed animal toys with a squeaker inside. I tried to find the same toys on line, but couldn't find them. I checked the website for the store, but also could not find them. So decided to call to see if I could buy some of them and if they would ship them to me in California. The salesperson who answered the phone was extremely helpful. I decided to buy several, 20 to be exact. I received my shipment today, it only took a few days. The items were nicely packed in paw print tissue with a cute handwritten note inside thanking me for shopping with them. I love the extra touch! They really appreciate their customers! My dogs are happy! Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
Sooo much stuff, some really cool, original items too. Definitely for the high end dog. So nice to walk into because the first thing you see is a barista serving some great coffee, smoothies and chai (this was also the owner when I went in) and perched on a stool is her perfectly trained dog. You can then sip as you walk through with your pup and admire the originality and extensive puppy supplies. Very friendly and lovely shop.

Glenda J.

Yelp
Any pet store having a coffee stand in their business gets my vote, but too bad this was closed! They have a huge selection of chews and jerky - choose from duck, beef, chicken, turkey. Salmon skins, and it's not just for sushi restaurants any longer LOL! Uncle Larry's chicken feet?! Turkey neck, duck neck, pig ears, freeze dried tendons. Himalayan cheese puffs... In addition to their dog food assortment, they also have the cutest cat beds. If you're not content with the regular dog bowl, why not one with studs on the sides. I loved their unique items! Whatever you need for your dog, I'm sure they've got you covered.

Yelp
Towards the end of July my boyfriend and I loaded up the rental car and took off with our English Bulldog. Our destination, Portland!!! Sadly this place was not on my list. We went to another dog store very nice and had these treats that my pup just loved. Sadly I couldn't afford to stock up on them before heading home. Hip Hound was the ONLY place I found the Uncle Larry's Flat Iron that would ship to me in California!!!! Needless to say I ordered 2 9 ounce bags and a very happy pup!! next road trip we will definitely stop by!!!
google avatar

Eugi H.

Yelp
I love an independent pet store and that they are also a coffee shop is just the cherry on top. They sell an excellent selection of quality dog foods and their pet clothing is cute too! I love the doggie bow ties and couldn't resist buying one for my pup. You can't go wrong with anything in this store for your canine family member!

Yelp
When I travel out of town, I make sure to visit any local pet boutique to get a memento for my fur baby. The mission in Portland was to find a new raincoat for my dog - and we did! I loved the variety of goodies!!! One of the best boutiques ever!

Raechel S.

Yelp
I've tried coming here over the years to convince myself it's great because of the selection. Then I forget the ridiculous store polices that my local pet store does not have, which makes buying their so much more comfortable ( Hawthorne Pet supply is the best). My last effort to try and Im done . Stuck with item I can't return ( that it's very poorly made and they shouldn't be selling within the 14 day return) and in-store credit I don't even want to use there. I've written very little Yelp reviews on my time , but this one felt necessary . Sticking to Hawthorne pet supply which is family owned by the sweetest people, who will do anything to make sure you want to return.

Bev F.

Yelp
Always a favorite of mine this coffee shop is too cute with the flavored specialty lattes are to die for! And nothing is more relaxing than some cbd coffee and some cute pups walking around! 10/10 would return always!

Yelp
So, since I live a few blocks away, I come here a lot with my young puppy, Kaylee. The folks here are very supportive and good at answering questions like "What's a good local puppy class?". They are indeed a higher-end store, but there's a lot of variety, and I (and Kaylee) are big fans of the half-off bin. Frankly, I get jealous of the fact that my dog eats more exotic meats than I do, what with the prevalence of duck/rabbit/buffalo/yak cheese treats/food out here in Oregon. I noticed in the Midwest that there was not nearly this plethora of natural chew options. My dog prefers to chew on dried duck feet, rather than chicken feet. I couldn't find them in rural Illinois this past holiday. I gotta admit, I spend more money here because I can stop in for some coffee, get a treat for my doggie, and run an errand, all while walking the dog. Plus my dog gets to socialize with some other dogs and maybe get out of the rain for a bit. Also, they have social nights where you and your dog can hang out with other pet owners/pets and enjoy some wine or snacks. I think on the third Thursday of the month in the evenings...

Yelp
Have a dog? Like to spoil them every now and again? Dress them up? Take them for a nice stroll? Are they pretty much like your children? Then you should probably stop in at the Hip Hound...just sayin.... I like Hip Hound. Sadly I cannot give 5 stars because it's a bit on the spendy side for me, but alas it is certainly quality items and they definitely have a ton to choose from. The staff is very kind and always happy to help you with what you are looking for. Perfect stop to stroll in with your dog and pick out a few treats. It is a super cute store you won't be disappointed! You will love the variety of toys, clothing, food, accessories, and much more. If I lived closer I would be here all the time!

Yelp
This is a great local business! They have a good selection of super premium dog and cat foods, and raw foods which I love. They also have such a fun variety of dog coats/jackets, leashes, collars, toys, and other cool knick-knack type things that make great gifts for your dog/cat owner friends. The people who work here are always really really nice and understanding that my dog is extremely shy with people, and they don't try to force interactions with him which is great because nothing annoys me more than people forcing themselves on my shy dog who obviously wants nothing to do with them. (I get it. He's very pretty. Leave him alone!) They also have a nice section where they have different bulk treats like bully sticks, duck and chicken feet, salmon skins, sausages, etc. Definitely will always come here for a quick treat for the dog for the car ride all the way back home to Medford! Great place to stop.

Yelp
If I had a dog and lived in Portland I'd so be here all the time. This is a mecca for pet parents and their "children" alike. My friends needed to get their oh so wonderful Beagle "child" Dash his special food which upon analyzing it further, he eats better than me!! In all fairness the Dashing Dash has digestive issues and this food (real meat and none of that artificial chemically stuff y'all) fits the bill. You can find other wares like toys and you can even dress your dog to the K-Nines (see what I did there?)! A good place all around!

Yelp
Did you know the Hip Hound ain't just for pups? If you have feline companions, you may enjoy their adorable and extensive kitty selection. We got our kitten her Christmas toys and treats here. She loves their squeaky cat-nip filled mice and birds. Also their wet food is a nice treat for her and healthy to boot. We definitely see a puppy in our future, and apparently you can adopt one here on the first Saturday of every month. Oh man, and the cute puppy bakery is enough to make you wish you had a dog by your side. I'll be returning many a time, Hip Hound!

Yelp
Pawsome! They open early, have a great selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff, amazing location. My pup and I both love this place! They have all "usuals" that I'm looking for in a pet accessory boutique but they also have a lot of the bespoke items that you can't find at other stores.

Yelp
I am visiting Oregon from Southern California and I was really hoping to find a cute dog shop for my new puppy. I saw Hip Hound and had to check it out and I LOVED IT!!!! It was the biggest and most stocked doggie (and other animals) boutique. They have everything from human grade dog treats, beds, hair care, collars, clothes, and even CBD for dogs. I ended up purchasing so many things I didn't even think I needed because they were too cute! Definitely recommend!!!

Yelp
We were visiting Portland and of course had to bring home goodies for our doggies! They had a lot of treats that we haven't seen in California. They also had a great sale section which was awesome - we found two stylish dog harnesses. Not sure if they always have rescues post up there, but there was one when we went and they had a bunch of puppies. If you donated a dollar you could hold one. It was the best!! It's also on 23rd street which has a bunch of other shops including blue star and salt and straw if you're trying to hit up Portland's must do's.

Yelp
Why an awesome store! I've lived in the neighborhood for awhile and finally wandered in this store. A coffee shop is in their pet store, and to top it off the coffee is actually GOOD?! The employees are so nice, all my questions were answered and they do concierge service drop off for dog food at my apartment complex! Which is amazing because my dog goes through big bags of food fast! My malamute received loads of attention! Great spot to socialize your dog if your pup is dog friendly like mine. They had a good sale for small business Saturday! We stocked up on some treats, and my dog even got a thing called a puppacino which is goats milk. It was free with my drink from their coffee area. I will definitely be back! I highly recommend checking this store out.

Yelp
Best pet store in all of Portland! All the people that work here are so knowledgeable in dog and cat nutrition and are so sweet! My pup is always super pumped to come inside and get some love and treats! Everything in here is top of the line and amazing and natural! If you are in the Portland area and you have a cat or dog, definitely stop in this store!
