Hippie Hibachi Review - Upper Westside - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The ever-present line in front of this Chatt Works food stall tells you what you need to know. Get in that line. We love this all-vegan spot because Hippie Hibachi packs our takeout containers with so much stir fry we always have enough to share or take home for leftovers. You get a choice of proteins like Impossible grounds, soy chicken, or big, meaty mushrooms (our favorite), which top a bed of fried rice and veggies. And like a mic drop, it’s all covered in a drizzle of creamy, yum yum sauce. " - Nina Reeder

Presentation is part of the experience. I was handed a bag that was moist around the handles, and when I looked inside the bag, I saw that the white creamy sauce was out and around the edges. I walked up when the lady was bagging it, so she had to have known that the containers were a mess. They were out of the plant-based shrimp, so I opted for the “chicken” plate and a beyond plate. Now it is unclear what is used for the beyond plate because the menu in store says it’s impossible meat, but the online menu and the receipt says beyond. These are two different meat alternatives with different ingredients, so I think that should be clarified on what it is. Both the “chicken” and “beyond”, that were on top of the rice, were super salty. I believe this and the amount of sauce may have been what made me feel icky after eating about a third of the food. I felt so gross inside, that I took a ginger shot and drank fresh watermelon juice when I got home to help clear it out. I don’t believe I will return to Hippie Hibachi.

I love trying new spots, and Hippie Hibachi did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and the food was amazing! I had the vegan chick'n and my husband had the impossible plate. The proteins portions were perfectly sized and the rice/veggie portions were generously sized. We opted to eat outside, however, there are also indoor spaces within the mall area. I can't wait to go back! That Yum Yum sauce is to die for! June 2022 - I went back to Atlanta last week and tried the tacos that I had seen on their social media posts. OMG... absolutely delicious! I had the tofu tacos. They had just the write spice and the tofu was grilled to perfection. The fried rice on the side was perfect! I hope they are able to add the tacos to the menu! I forgot to get pics before I devoured the tacos.

Okay, so ... DANG. This is sooooooooooooo good, wowowowowow. I got the tofu plate and.. man... the spices that are used for this tofu are amazing. It's not spicy. It's just spiced with herbs so well. The rice & veggies are delicious as well. I'm so glad that I didn't pass on this option - it's hard because it's located in a food hall, and there are many different vendors that have vegan/vegetarian options. But, don't sleep on this place. Aside from the fact that there's no cross-contamination, the food is bomb. Don't make the mistake of skipping this place. It's fireeeeee!!! And the staff are so nice. Next time, I'm trying the soy chikin one!!

I was absolutely blown away by how amazingly tasty and healthy this food was. The Hippie Plate was extremely tasty and filling. I’m so glad to have found a vegan place in Atlanta. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant. I ordered the Hippie Plate with sautéed oyster mushrooms and tofu. The tofu was nice and crunchy! I was highly impressed, satisfied and happy :)

Google
Went on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered 3 hibachi plates and an order of tacos. Overall the food was good. The rice could have been better and some meat/veggies were too salty. The tacos were good but really greasy. The guy at the front counter was not very friendly. Food took quite a while to come out.

Google
Hippie Hibachi is a 100% Vegan Hibachi food retailer that sits inside the 1235 Makers Building @ 1235 Chattahoochee Ave NW STE 130, Atlanta, GA 30318. It is open a minimum of 7 Days / week from Noon - 8 PM and even until 10PM Thursday - Saturday. We ordered one hibachi dish with tofu, shrimp, egg, and spicy sauce. The other was ordered with Mushroom, Tofu, and YumYum sauce. The food was ready for consumption in under ten minutes, served perfectly hot, and the owner Josh was helpful not only for walking us through the menu but also in recommending other vegan eateries and places for us to day hike. The maker building that Hippie Hibachi is located in is a hotbed for delicious food. Under its roof you can find atleast 20 other unique food vendors with signs of construction for more to come. Despite all of that, I recommend giving your money to hippie hibachi first. Never before have I seen all of my favorites from hibachi restaurants on a 100% vegan menu! Great Work Hippies. 5 Stars👏🏽

Google
Winter 2023 My vegan wife is in love with this place 🤷🏻‍♂️ She recommends the quesatacos with impossible beef. Update May 2024 I've driven here on several occasions, ordered from them first, went elsewhere to order stuff for me/wife, and this place consistently takes FOREVER! All the other places manage to have the food ready before this place...and when I go it's usually right at 11am. My sister-in-law mentioned she once ordered 20 minutes ahead and still had to wait 15-20 minutes for her food. Don't come here hungry unless you want to starve while you watch everyone around enjoy their food🤷🏻‍♂️

Google
I give it more of a 3.7, portions need to be doubled for price of tofu dish, or at least add more veggies and rice. Great location in nicely appointed food hall. The cashier was agreeable, but they need to offer more food for the price paid. Tofu had a delicious sear and flavor, good tasting mushrooms and vegetables.

Yelp
The pink garlic sauce is everything!!! So delicious and really makes the dish's flavors pop. The girl working today was so nice too. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Hippie Hibachi. I didn't have high expectations, but once I had the first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by how great the food tasted! The "chicken" is soy based, looks like chicken and has a slightly sweet taste to it. Now this place is pricey - I paid $21 for the Chick'n hibachi, nothing added. The service was ok, I could tell sis did not want to be there lol.

Yelp
This is a vegan spot in Chattahoochee Food Works. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as some vegan venues can be quite mediocre, while others can be fantastic, but I was pleasantly surprised with my meal here...the veggie plate in this case, plus a vegan (Just Egg) egg. I will acknowledge that there is a substantial amount of brown rice. And it's good, but it's probably more than I personally wanted. The sauce options here provide for some great condiments. The service was wonderful as well. The workers there were more than patient with respect to answering all my questions on the ingredients and even let me sample a portion of some eggplant that has been left over (I plan to get that next time). I only wish they had some dessert options! Atmosphere is, well, a stall...but you can go to sit down and eat at some benches near the shops or anywhere else that happens to have seating.

Yelp
Came here during a visit to ATL on the advice of my daughter. DID NOT DISAPPOINT It's a plate of rice, veggies & vegan protein. The portion is large. The sauce is super tasty. It was VERY busy the night we went, waited about 20 minutes (same wait time as the other popular food stalls) Friendly service.

Yelp
I ordered pickup from here through UberEats last night for my boyfriend and me. UberEats had a buy one get one free deal, so we each got a hippie plate (choose 2 teriyaki proteins or add extra of your favorite protein by choosing 1, paired with zucchini, onions, carrots, broccoli, fried rice, and garnished with red cabbage, chives, and sesame seeds, with yum yum sauce. V/GF). The protein choices are: mushroom, tofu, chick'n (vegan chicken), impossible (vegan beef), shr'mp (vegan shrimp), and eggplant. The food exceeded our expectations. We chose mushrooms and eggplant as our proteins. Everything was hot and fresh and well-seasoned. The rice and veggies were all the perfect texture and taste, and the portions were generous. That yum yum sauce was absolutely divine. The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted the sauce on top, which I said yes to (my boyfriend just got his on the side). I am glad I did because the moment I tasted it, I started pouring more sauce on from the container on the side. My boyfriend enjoyed the sauce too and ended up putting it on his too. The service was polite and they seem to be working efficiently. However, it appeared that they didn't get to making our order until we actually arrived, which worries me a bit for if we ever order delivery through UberEats and aren't the ones standing there waiting ourselves for our food next time. Perhaps it was just a fluke occurrence on a busy night. We are definitely willing to return. The food made up for anything! As for the ambiance, it is casual and fast-paced. There are many different restaurant booths set up inside Chattahoochee Food Works. Quite a few people were there last night, so it was a little crowded. We were happy to take our food to-go. My boyfriend and I would love to try more items and pick up again soon. Thank you!

Yelp
yayyyyyy for non soy!!!! This place is AWESOME! they have many non soy options and the quality is consistent. Crisp cabbage, flavorful rice, yummy sauces and friendly service. It can be overwhelming at C Foodworks bu this is always a good choice. The "shrimp" and impossible meat bowls are solid.

Yelp
We tried Hippie Hibachi for the first time last weekend, and we liked it so much we came back again today! We're not vegan, but this hibachi is INCREDIBLE. The flavors are bold, the quality is superb, and everyone there is so friendly. I personally love the tofu hibachi plate - the hibachi is crispy and flavorful, and it plays so well with the veggies. My husband loves the chick'n plate, and I don't blame him; the texture and flavor are fantastic. It's located in the Chattahoochee Food Works food hall, so there is plenty of seating.
google avatar

Seema Z.

Yelp
This place is in the chatahoochee food works food court. And has an assortment of vegan options for hibachi. There's about 6 choice to pic from and the mushroom and chicken combo plate is best pic. The shrimp and eggplant was mediocre with the shrimp not well seasoned. The food pricing is steep! I really want atlanta to do better with vegan options for choices an pricing. A good one time try but I won't be visiting again
google avatar

Yelp
I love the Chattahoochee Food Works because they've got so many options for food and let me tell you, this stall slapped! My brother who's a vegan has gotten food from them before but I recently tried them for the first time and it was sooo delicious. I don't know what they make the yum yum sauce out of but it's just as good as the regular stuff! The stir fried rice had plenty of veggies in it and I added the chik'n protein which had a great texture. The rice was also perfectly cooked, not too hard and not too mushy! They're also one of the stalls that accepts cash so if you're looking for somewhere you can ~actually~ use your cash this is it! The girl who took my order was also super friendly :) This is definitely going to be a place I'll come back to when I visit the food works!

Yelp
100 the best food on the planet. Hippie Hibachi is absolutely so delicious and fire. Vegan and Gluten Free is where it's at and I'm so happy I enjoyed this spot with wifey.

Yelp
Hippie Hibachi is beyond 5 stars in all categories! Your plate is packed with rice, veggies, and proteins; basically you could do bicep curls with it lol. Not only is it packed to the brim with food, it's packed with flavors you get at any authentic hibachi restaurant! The proteins and veggies are cooked AMAZINGLY. I'm not a fan of Impossible meat, but the way they cook and season it here... chef's kiss! My go-to is the impossible and shr'mp Hippie Plate, and I used to always get their Ch'kn, which is also really good. Another thing they are known for is their yum yum sauce that I always get an extra packet of because it's that good! They're located inside of Chattahoochee Food Works, and are 100% vegan and gluten free, that's hard to find! But don't let that label scare you because it's one of my favorites, and when I tried it I wish I had known about it sooner! You won't regret it. Even when I bring my non-vegan family and friends here, they love it and end up getting their own plate. Because I'm not sharing lol. Also, I'm pretty sure they just opened a location in Decatur, and they serve sesame fries there that I'm excited to try! Customer service is always phenomenal, kind, and understanding. They don't rush you and let you take your time, and allow you to ask questions with no problem! Check them out!

Yelp
This is now my third time going to the establishment, and my rice has been overcooked, to the point of it being crunchy while eating. A $25 meal. I have tried to brush it off previously, even joking with the cashier to please make sure that my rice isn't overcooked. Yet, unfortunately has still happened. What prompted me to leave a review today, however, was because I witnessed the most disgusting service I have seen from a fast food place in a while when a (1) Young African American man, with Dread/braids, who was picking his scabs on his hands as he was attending to the customer after me. Flicking off skin he was peeling at, then handling food. His attitude was as if he did not want to be there. Though nasty, not as egregious as the second young man who was Hispanic, with long curly hair. (2) This young man proceeded to prepare our food today WITH NO GLOVES!!!!!!. With his bare hands, he added multiple toppings and additions to the meal, while looking me in the eye a couple of times. It was the most disgusting display of food service I had ever witnessed. And I had evidently seen that this was a common thing for him To be unfazed as we caught eye contact and I watched him prepare food. Who knows where his hands had been!!!! I love vegan food, and was excited to find a vegan hibachi spot, but I will not be returning to this establishment again. Nasty.

Yelp
This asian inspired bowl was nothing short of delicious. The flavors and the crispness of the vegan chicken was perfectly blended together. This was definitely some of the best vegan food I've ever had. My only fault with the restaurant is that it's way too pricey.
google avatar

Sasha G.

Yelp
Had the mushroom plate. It was OK. Vegans have really hyped up this place and it certainly is one of a kind so I get it but I felt the plate lacked flavor, some sort of umph. The yum yum sauce wasn't my favorite. I appreciated the veggies still being crispy + not over cooked. I wish the mushrooms would have been cooked a little more, perhaps charred on the grill for some texture. Overall it wasn't terrible but not something I would willingly pay $20 for again.
google avatar

Carmen H.

Yelp
I ordered the veggie plate(no mushrooms) to-go from hippie hibachi on Friday. I placed my order probably 5 minutes before I arrived. Once I got to the restaurant it was already ready, yet it didn't seem like it was hot. I also got an order of teriyaki and yum yum sauce. The flavors were good and the service was pretty fast. I'd try it again in the future, but probably while I'm eating in The Works versus to-go.
google avatar

Rihana A.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Very flavorful. Lots of mushrooms, in my mushroom platter. The sauce on top was good. I saw a lot of people adding more. The drizzle provided was enough for my plate. It was difficult to find as the address is to the main building. After driving around I realized that there were multiple business on the inside. Then I had the find the special door that lead to the businesses from where I parked. Then I walked around looking at all of the other businesses before I realized that I started right by Hippie Hibachi. So just know it's located by one of the entrances. The food was worth the drive and the effort to get there before I caught my flight back to Los Angeles! The tea is a small up and coming business. You can order online.
google avatar

Stacy D.

Yelp
First off, I am so excited that there is a vegan and gluten free hibachi restaurant!!! Yay. I had the chickn hibachi with yum yum. It was delicious. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the soy chickn was a little too salty. Still, I inhaled it happily.
google avatar

Yelp
April is my VEGAN month and this HIPPIE HIBACHI fulfilled my cravings. Had the Hippie Plate (mushroom and impossible beef) with vegetables. Got the extra hot sauce (which is not really hot), I'll skip next time , and some yum yum sauce. The cashier clerk said everything is made in-house. Food was fresh and delicious. Good 5 Service 5 Portion 5 Price 3 (this ain't for poor people) 18 of 20 / 90% / Grade A

Yelp
Randomly stumbled on this place at about 8 pm on a Thursday night. Ordered online and came in to pick up. Food was prepared exactly as I specified and I was very impressed with how well everything was seasoned. Vegan food, well good vegan food can hardly ever get seasons right but this was spot on!! Taste exactly like hibachi lol. I'm giving this place 4 stars cause the cashier was very off putting. It was my first time at this particular vegan spot as I walked up no welcome or any type of acknowledgment. I even asked what time does this place close cause I was gonna invite friends cause I was so excited(my friends are vegan) the cashier stated she didn't know. How do you not know what time y'all close? Idk maybe it was a bad night, however it was my 1st experience at a new place and that's how I was treated. Would definitely recommend
google avatar

L T.

Yelp
Ugh. We keep ordering and I keep wanting to be impressed. But I'm just not. It's good Hibachi - it's GREAT vegan Hibachi... But it's greasy. Every. Single. Time. Soooo greasy. Now, if that's your vibe - 5/5 But if it isn't. 3/5.
google avatar

Kyla B.

Yelp
A weekend at Chattahoochee Food works is a foodie lovers dream. Hippie Hibachis popular vegan shr'mp hibachi plate had me running to the works for a comfort food fix, but unfortunately I wasn't too impressed. After a long awaited 15 minutes my food was quite bland, even with adding extra yum yum sauce. I added a side of their spicy chili sauce to it, which was indeed spicy, but flavorful and essentially saved the dish. If you are vegan and previously loved seafood the shr'mp were a great substitute, however over all I wasn't too impressed. With so many other food options around, I would probably be drawn somewhere else in the future. :(
google avatar

Niaz P.

Yelp
I don't know how it tastes so amazing, but every time I come here it gets better! I am usually not a fan of vegetarian options, but the mushrooms are to die for. I love the yum yum sauce too!
google avatar

Faith C.

Yelp
A pretty solid option at Chattahoochee Food Works! My friend and I ate here with the dining out passbook and it hit the spot. I got the tofu hibachi and she got the eggplant hibachi. She did comment that the eggplant was too overcooked and wanted more of a bite to it, and I tried some and would have to agree. I loved my tofu hibachi though and thought it was very flavorful! It came with tons of veggies, tofu and yum yum sauce. The prices are kinda steep, usually around $18 per hibachi and can go up if you want any extras. It did last me for at least 2 meals though, so the portions are large.
google avatar

Nicole J.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and so glad I went. I had the Atl DiningOut Passbook and was able to try both the faux chicken and shrimp dishes for thr price of one. My favorite was the chicken dish with all the toppings and extra sauce of the side. Everything about this dish was beyond delicious, fresh and flavorful. And to top everything off, the Majestea bottled tea was super tasty and black owned as well. I can not wait to return again.
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
Though the price point did seem a bit high, Hippie Hibachi knows the importance of a generous portion. I was really, really happy with my eggplant hibachi plate. Pro Tip: order an extra serving of yum yum sauce.
google avatar

Kristopher W.

Yelp
I got a chance to check out The Works and decided to try Hippie Hibachi. I got the vegan hibachi and it was good. It was flavorful and filling. I went off the recommendations of the workers and they gave good ones. I will come back to try other items on the menu.
google avatar

Justin N.

Yelp
We ALWAYS end up coming here. This is an updated review and once again, Hippie Hibachi gets a 5 star rating for their consistency, taste, and great service!

Audrey S.

Yelp
The food was cooked according to my food onion allergy. Most places tell me they can't accommodate me but he cooked it fresh. The food was really good!!
google avatar

Yelp
Solid hibachi and its vegan which is an extra win in my book. I stopped by the Chattahoochee Food Works for the first time today. There are many food options and I settled on Hippie Hibachi. They have a pretty simple plate with "fried rice & hibachi veggies (zucchini, onions, carrots, broccoli), garnished with sesame seeds, red cabbage, green onions, and a yum yum sauce drizzle." You can then customize the plate with different veggie or plant proteins. I added tofu and am glad I did. It had a good sear, but was still a little soft inside. The veggies were soft, but still had a little crunch. I really enjoyed the fresh red cabbage and green onions on the plate. My favorite was the spicy gochu sauce. It added a really good flavor to the plate as the plate itself wasn't a punch of flavor. The person who took my order was friendly and the food came out rather quickly. The portion size was good, too. I had to take some home. Overall did it blow me away? No. Would I eat here again? Sure.

Yelp
Another ATL gem!! It's among many others styled like Philadelphia's Reading Terminal..we ate a Hippie's and it was a vegan's paradise. We had the Hippie Plate, it includes broccoli, zucchini, red onions grilled to perfection and fried rice that had the hibachi flavor we all love. Oh and don't forget to ask for the Yum Yum sauce, you're going to want to spread or dip it on everything!!! Next, we got take out, for dinner, at Delilah's across from Hippie's and we ordered the collard greens with mac and cheese. If it's thanksgiving and you forgot to get collards and fixings for mac and cheese.....no worries because Delilah's will not disappoint!!! The ambience of this place is a foodie's dream. Chattahoochie's Food Works offers seafood, raw bar, bbq, salads, cheesesteaks, cookies, cocktails etc. and there's seating outside and inside. Just go...you won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
First time at Chatahoochee Food Works and we specifically came for this place. We ended up trying a few other places but those are for other reviews. Ordered the combo plate with the chic'n and impossible. 20+ bucks gets you a good meal but still on the pricey side. I guess its the current premium for vegan food. The impossible was the star- seasoned and grilled well. Chick'!n was nothing to rave about and felt more like slivers of extra firm tofu- def better options out there. The rice was abundant and rivaled the flavor of any other really good hibachi grill while the veggies were firm and fresh with the right amount of flavor. I would have liked the ratio of rice to veg to be closer as it felt like I could count the pieces of zucchini and broccoli on one hand. We did request for the yum yum sauce on the side as they asked what our preference was- but they put it on top anyway. They also charge for tiny servings of sauce . Overall would come back for this the next time I am in town but ditch the chick'n and get the impossible!

Yelp
OMG this is a great spot. If you want a vegetarian hibachi - this is the place to come to when you're in Atlanta. The staff here are so cool they help us make a few cool choices. If you are vegan definitely check this place out it was one of many vegan locations I checked out while I was down. Good stuff. Live, love, and laugh -Sha

Yelp
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars because their food is absolutely delicious and satisfying. Seriously, it's a vegan paradise! Let me start by saying that everything on their menu is vegan, and they don't skimp on portions. You'll be served a heaping plate of rice and veggies, along with your choice of protein like tofu, vegan chicken, vegan shrimp, and more. And let me tell you, their food is seasoned to perfection. They've got some amazing sauces too, but my personal favorite is the yum yum sauce--it's a definite must-try! Now, this gem is tucked away in a corner of the Chattahoochee Works, surrounded by other food and drink spots. But for me, it's like stumbling upon a secret vegan haven. The seating options are a bit limited in the immediate area, but you can always head to the common area or dine outside if the weather's nice. Parking is not a problem at all--they've got plenty of spots available, whether you prefer parking outside or in a parking garage. Believe me, this place is an absolute must-visit!

Yelp
I am not a vegan nor do I pretend to be but I love vegan food bc it's normally full of vegetables which I LOVE! Tonight I visited "The Works" for the first time and had Hippie Hibachi and it was AMAZING! I had the "chick'n" with mushrooms over fried rice with a vegan egg. Not only was the dish tasty and filling but the yum yum sauce was so good, I had to go back and ask for me. Even if you're not vegan, this place is definitely worth trying as it's filling and tasty. Also worth mentioning, you know the food is good when the owner is working alongside his crew, ringing you up and passing out sauce For more ATL food reviews, follow me on IG @theboogiefoodie .

Yelp
Yum! I was beyond excited when I saw this place in The Works. An all vegan hibachi?! With yum yum sauce? It did not disappoint! I even got extra yum yum sauce not realizing they already top it with a lot! Next time I want to try the shrimp, but the chicken was amazing. The only downside is that it is a little expensive.
google avatar

Monica H.

Yelp
I gIve it three stars for a couple of reasons that also included some fault on my part. I originally saw Hippie Hibachi on IG and I was so excited to finally try it! Unfortunately I didn't do enough research because I totally missed the part that they're a fully vegan restaurant I ordered the hippie plate with "chicken" and "shrimp and my God did it look amazing! The hibachi didn't taste bad at all but it definitely looked better than it tasted. It took me a while to realize the chicken wasn't chicken which I guess was a good thing, but the "shrimp"...I think the texture was somewhere between an uncooked hot dog and a scallop. Keep in my mind, I'm writing this review as a non-vegan who made the mistake of not reading carefully so this place could be super great to the vegan community ‍ Regardless of the "meats" I would have loved to experience more flavor overall. I was also disappointed because it was pretty pricey. $20 is a little much for a rice bowl.
google avatar

Haron K.

Yelp
Made to order and cooked exceptionally well. I would say, even Non-Vegetarians will smile, but that depends largely on how you feeld about Vegetarian/Vegan food as an Omnivore? I was absolutely pleased and though I went in frowning about the portion-size, by the time my container was empty, I was MUCH happier about the $20 price tag. That the customer service was also stellar and my food came out quickly didn't hurt either...I'll definitely be making a return visit. =)

Yelp
I discovered this all plant-based Hippie Hibachi via Tiktok. The videos kept popping up, enticing me to visit during my birthday trip. It is the world's first all-vegan hibachi grill! The owner Josh Brock grew up spending many birthdays at hibachi steakhouses. Hibachi is one of the first things he learned how to cook. When he transitioned to a vegan diet, he missed the taste of hibachi. Opening last summer, Josh worked with chef Allan Katzef to develop a menu that replaces traditional proteins with plant-based proteins. The steak is replaced impossible burger and shrimp made from konjac root. Meals are 100% gluten free. I love hibachi, so I was excited to try it out! All plates start with fried rice and hibachi veggies (zucchini, onions, carrots, and broccoli) garnished with sesame seeds, red cabbage, and green onions. You have your choice of one teriyaki plant protein or choose two proteins (hippie plate). I ordered mushrooms and impossible meat. Everything is made fresh to order and in decent portions! I requested the yum yum sauce drizzle on the side but ended up pouring it on because the taste was spot on to the nonvegan version of the sauce. My meal was all contained in eco-friendly packaging.

Yelp
LOVE THE IDEA AND GOOD FOOD! visited the Chattahoochee food works for the first time and had to stop by here. all vegan options which is incredible (I'm not vegan, but love trying vegan options). i got the "chicken" bowl which came with veggies and rice. it was a little bit crowded when i came with a reasonable line. the line moved pretty fast and took about 15 mins to get my food. i liked the food, i thought it had a good amount of flavor but it was nothing out of this world. the chicken tasted very similar to real chicken and only giveaway that it wasn't real was a slight difference in texture. i did think it was a little bit expensive for food, but i feel like that's the case for many vegan restaurants. overall i thought it was nice and cute. if i was vegan, i would probably be there every day, but as a non-vegan eater, it wasn't something i would have to go back for.

Yelp
Man! This food was slammin! We had the mushroom plate one night and had to come back the next night for round 2. It was that good! Always looking for good vegan options and this was definitely a hit. While this isn't a place to go sit down and have a quiet meal, a grab n' go or a quick sit down with friends is a great option. The food is worth it. I'll give you a tip... get some extra yum yum sauce and if you do like Beyoncé and keep "hot sauce in your bag," add some siracha! Thank me later!

Yelp
Great food and even better vibes. The food is always fresh and yummy. I will say I have found myself adding double rice and extra Yum Yum sauce however, it makes about two meals for myself. Every time I go the food is consistently amazing and the staff is always pleasant. If you are in the area heck, if you are IN ATLANTA you should definitely try out this gem.

Yelp
The food was very good, but they get 5 stars from me for their service. I told them I have a bad reaction to one of the food products they offered, so to prevent cross contamination they went above and beyond to cook my food in a separate pan with fresh cooking utensils.

Yelp
Okaaay! Hippie hibachi definitely delivers, in a world where the only vegan options for hibachi are boiled vegetables somewhat on fried this is 100"% better. Presentation- gorgeous! they definitely load it up and make it look appealing. Price- Costly. I ordered the two different meats and chose chicken and mushroom. I would recommend ordering two different actual meats (obviously vegan) that they have instead of the mushroom because the flavor was good, but they did not give enough. It was a lot more rice compared to the actual one. My boyfriend got shrimp and I will caution that it's an interesting texture. I would get the beef and the chicken! Flavor- Really really well seasoned. Portion- Like I mentioned earlier, a lot more rice than the meat that they're giving but all in all a decent meal with enough for leftovers even if you usually finish your meals. Place- Chattahoochee food works is one of my favorite spots and definitely easy to park at (free) and there is a lot of seating options. I would have given this place 5 stars but the cost and the proportion of the foods are limiting me to 4.

Yelp
A couple of months ago I discovered Hippie Hibachi online and was excited about a new vegan eatery in Atlanta. I was disappointed to see that they weren't open yet but stalked their Instagram weekly until they finally opened. This is the first all-vegan hibachi restaurant in Atlanta which is awesome because I love a good hibachi place. They serve plant based chick'n, shrimp, tofu, mushrooms, Impossible burger. You can add vegan egg or hemp seed. They also have vegan sauces made in-house including yum yum and spicy gochu. They are located within the Chattahoochee Food Works (food hall). While there is plenty of parking I must have came at the wrong time because they were packed and there was no parking spot in sight. I literally drove around for about 5 minutes before someone finally left. The staff was very friendly and I met Theo who was cooking the food he told me if you're not passionate about it you shouldn't be doing it and I love what I do. I decided on the hippie plate with chick'n and shr'mp, zucchini, onions, carrots, broccoli, green onions, red cabbage and fried rice drizzled with yum yum sauce. Next time I will ask for extra veggies. Hopefully there will be more items added to the menu soon.

Yelp
Food was cooked to perfection. The staff was real helpful being it was my first time. First I ordered the Hippie Plate w Mushroom and I was given a lot of food. When I went to reorder a different dish, I was given less food so I was slightly disappointed but the taste of the dish didn't disappoint at all! It was The QuesoTaco with Shrimp. I will be returning for more food because it definitely deserved the review! Will be placing my reel on Instagram!

Yelp
Food was just decent. Had more rice than anything. The rice was over cooked and the tofu tasted burned. I'd visit again because I'm a vegan and I do believe this is a good go to spot but after my first visit I wasn't exactly enthused.

Yelp
Ep. 85 of AntlantaEats (4.5 stars) This is a game changer ya'll, the 1st Vegan + Gluten Free Hibachi Restaurant! I came & ordered the Chicken & Shrimp bowl, along w/ rice & vegetables. Inside had the Vegan egg (Yea the Yellow thing lol) The Yum Yum sauce is a MUST if you love a little kick. The Chicken was my personal fav, I highly recommend a bowl if you're in the area. Friendly staff, lots of free parking and quality taste! Just a heads up it can be a little pricey tho Here's my experience: https://www.instagram.com/p/CRUVUpdAB4u/?utm_medium=copy_link

Yelp
I'm not exaggerating when I say this has to be the best food I've ever tasted in my life. The price is WORTH it people! I ordered Tofu Habachi plate with fried rice, vegetables and topped off with yum yum sauce, but I'm willing to bet anything you order here will change your life. Yes, I will be back here again!!!

Yelp
This spot has been on my list since it opened but I finally ventured out yesterday to give it a try. I was so excited about my experience. I'm not vegan, closer to vegetarian, but I do enjoy trying different dietary options. They do a great job at describing their menu items and all that goes into them. I ordered the Hippie Plate with Shr'mp. The customer service was great and the food comes out fast, hot and fresh. However it lacked much of the flavor that I expected. It was just okay to me. I've eaten at other vegan restaurants that I've really enjoyed but the food was underwhelming to me.

Yelp
Hippie hibachi is SO good! I love that they have healthier options too. The portions are soo big, I definitely had leftovers. All of the flavors are so good and I loved the sauce! Can't wait to go back. Parking at the works is easy in the deck or on the street!
