Hippo Grill debuts Korean barbecue in a to-go box | Eater Vegas

"A newcomer that adapts the cook-to-order Korean barbecue concept into a takeout-focused, self-described Korean spin on a bento box, occupying the former Subway spot in Concorde Plaza at Jones and Warm Springs. With no dine-in seating, the compact menu centers on grilled proteins cooked to order — barbecue-marinated chicken thighs, pork shoulder butt, spicy pork belly, thinly sliced wagyu beef, and galbi short ribs — served in upgraded to-go platters. Platters can be paired with a range of side dishes such as kimchi, fish cakes, japchae, Korean rolled omelets, and seaweed salad, and the appetizer selection includes fried squid, bulgogi fries, and fried mandoo. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Bradley Martin

Best Korean takeout in town – hands down! I’ve been a regular at Hippo Grill for years now, and every single order is a flavor explosion. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the food travels like a champ – still piping hot and fresh by the time I get home. The staff is always friendly over the phone, and pickup is a breeze. If you’re craving authentic Korean flavors without the sit-down hassle, this is your spot. 5 stars isn’t enough! 🇰🇷🍱

A friend shared with me that this is his go to for good quality and generous portion Korean BBQ food to go. I was not disappointed! The prices were fair to good! The choices for the sides were excellent, as I enjoy the sides as much as the main dish. I ordered the meat Jin and Korean fried chicken and am looking forward to eating that it with my wife! It’s located across town in the far south and I’m in the far north, so I was glad that I had plans that had me on this side of town. Definitely worth checking this place out and deciding for yourself. I can see myself eating here in the future!

The food was OK. Meat Jun and spicy pork belly were really good. The raw garlic in the garlic shrimp was really harsh, and IMHO ruined the perfectly cooked shrimp. The mandu was deliciously crispy and tender at the same time. Service could use some help. The lady behind the counter seemed overwhelmed and borderline rude. Granted, it looked like she was there handling the front counter by herself during the lunch rush. I guess I would be grouchy too, but it is a business, and customer service is expected. Large portions. Will try again and hopefully, the lady has some help and a better day.

Greeted right away. The service was great. Portions are huge and have lots of choices for sides. Everything cooked to go so food is fresh. Make sure to be hungry cause the plate won't disappoint!

Tried this place last week and it's a hit! Like the other reviews mention, it's take out only. The portions are huge, the meats are all flavorful and fresh, and the sides were amazing! I could probably eat a bucket of their jap chae and macaroni salad. Super friendly and fast service as well. I can't wait to go back and explore other menu items!

Being born and raised in Hawaii, reminds me of Hawaii Korean bbq. Few things wish they had or could do. 1. Wish they would ring back the egg side dish 2. They would make the brown potato 3. Meat jun would be cut for you Overall food is great, prices are expensive but you do get a lot for what you pay. One plate could feed two people.

its a little hole in the wall korean spot..no chairs just strictly takeout. you choose your meats (bbq chicken, meatjun, etc) then you pick sides or banchans(4 for a regular plate/2 for minis). if your from hawaii and your kids have a soccer tournament at JAMES REGiONAL PARK this is the spot.

Food was ok, potato salad not good and they dont cut meat jun for you. Short attitudes from the server/cashier. I came in after my family and said I would like to put in an order as well and I received an annoyed expression and death stare from the lady as if I tried to go back and serve myself. we wont be back here ever. Probably will try the ramen place next door they’re friendly and the atmosphere in there is warm. And this place is way too expensive
