"The Welsh word ‘hiræth’ has no direct translation, but it broadly refers to the pride and longing the Welsh feel for their homeland. That ethos comes through at this likeable little restaurant, thanks to the use of regional produce including locally foraged ingredients and some from their own smallholding. The cooking comes in a tasting menu format, with dishes flying highest when emphasising the quality of their ingredients, like sous-vide skrei cod with a mussel and wild garlic velouté. The team show pride in their work and will ensure you are well looked after." - Michelin Inspector

£35 - 3 course taster Starter - Great bread, chicken, soup, and butter. As good as each other. Main - Pork was ok. Excellent asparagus. Good mash. Apple sauce was the highlight. Dessert - Would have liked more strawberry. Pistachio bits + White chocolate were great

What an amazing meal. The restaurant is slightly out of the centre of town, quite small but with a lovely atmosphere and food that is well presented and delicious. We had the seven course tasting meal. Each course was delicious. They had made a few pre arranged changes for the non meat eaters and these were superb. Well done and I cannot wait to return,

Exceptional dining experience with beautifully crafted seasonal tasting menu. Each dish was thoughtfully executed and full of flavour. The service struck the perfect balance of relaxed yet attentive - everyone clearly passionate and well-informed! Already looking forward to seeing next month’s menu!

I've had my birthday meal last night here. The food was the highlight of the evening, very clever use of ingredients. I've appreciated the use of less expensive ingredients to create such powerful flavours. Service was attentive, great idea to have the chefs to serve and explain the courses. I'll definitely be back! A big thank to all the team!

Such a great experience for dinner it really was faultless. High-end food without the stuffy-ness. We went with the Long Course which was 7 dishes with a few amuse-bouche. The service was friendly and attentive. I can’t wait to come here again for a treat and have a taste of breakfast at menu!

We had a lovely dinner, the July taster menu was really well crafted and put together. The flavours are well thought out, with crowd favorites such as duck. One of the few foodie locations in cardiff offering a casual vibe tasting menu. Would highly reccommend. Reasonable value at £65 per head for a 9 courses.

Wow! Greeted by the friendly staff whom talked us through our menu options. We were a party of three but only one wanted the wine pairing, not a problem. We all had the six course taster menu but due to an allergy, one member was allowed to swap this dish for one on the snack menu. The food was superb and most dishes were actually served by Andrew himself which was a lovely touch. Each course was fully explained prior to presentation. I have walked out of establishments like this before feeling hungry. Not at Hiraeth. Each dish compliments the previous one and you leave fully satiated but not uncomfortably so. Superb food, great staff and lovely personal touches from Chef Andrew.

Hiraeth really is an excellent dining experience! The influences, combinations, flavours and presentation are really well-considered and the staff take such care to explain each dish. I could not fault a single thing on the six course menu that we tried! Particular highlights for me were the chicken karaage and iberico pork dishes - incredible flavours and textures and a total joy to eat. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
