The 7 Best Dim Sum Restaurants In Houston

"Crammed into the first floor of the Don Huang Plaza of Chinatown, HK Dim Sum serves classic (but cartless) Cantonese-style dim sum. Unlike the other dim sum spots on this list, HK has a small dining room with only a couple group-friendly tables. We like to go here solo or for a quick lunch date, quickly mark choices on the order sheet, and eat mountains of fresh dumplings in near silence. HK serves all the classics: shumai, har gow, various steamed dumplings and buns, but we also like the chicken congee with thick hunks of ginger, especially on Houston’s rare cool and rainy afternoons." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

HK Dim Sum Review - Chinatown - Houston - The Infatuation

"Crammed into the first floor of the Don Huang Plaza of , HK Dim Sum serves classic (but cartless) Cantonese-style dim sum. The food here might not be the best dim sum in town, but everything is consistent and made-to-order. Plus, the dining room stays pleasantly quiet with only the sound of order-sheet scribbling and light muzak heard between bites. Being small, HK makes a great solo lunch or casual dinner spot for dim sum like classic shrimp or pork shumai, har gow, and fluffy steamed buns. Our favorite, however, is the savory chicken congee with massive hunks of ginger that makes us feel warm and loved, especially during Houston’s short winters. Go here for a quick dumpling fix, or before indulging in one of the many amazing dessert spots scattered around the plaza. " - Chelsea Thomas

If you’re Dimsum lover, please avoid this place! I wasn’t so sure what did I just eat 🤨 Food are not authentic! Chicken feet is too sweet. Har gow is over cooked, shirmp eggplant is too oily. I have no ideas how people can eat so easily in these days! To me, this is unexcepted.

Looking for a great little Dim Sum spot? Try HK.! It's budget friendly, made to order, fresh, great portion sizes, and just plain delicious. At other spots around town, we'd walk about $100 a person or more for dim sum. Here, $20 a person and you're stuffed! Found a new favorite to try at other spots. 42, 43, or 49. Two of these 3 we ordered. One had a super crispy and flaky crust with a shrimp center. It was just delicious! The other was super soft rolled and stuffed with all sorts of goodies. Meat, mushrooms, etc. I believe it was a bean paste roll. I'll get this every time now. This is one that won't disappoint. They were attentive, not one negative item to point out here. There's plenty of parking here, also a number of parking garages. During prime time hours, it can get a little packed. We already have plans to go back for more this weekend. Until next time.

Google
A YumCha place in Houston Chinatown area. Most yum-cha dim sims are average and look like made in the premise. Service was average, I asked for sauce dishes and the waitress looked very troubled and annoyed?!?! Overall, the food was okay if you don't have high expectation, and prices were a bit hight for the quality you get, but this seemed like to be the new norm everywhere in US bow , expensive but average!!?!?!

Google
Ratatouille Back to Hong Kong Memory of Neighborhood Dim Sum! My husband is from Hong Kong and we just returned from visiting his family. We missed every morning ritual Dim Sum breakfast. We bumped into this HK Dim Sum and wanted to try as other places have 30-45 mins waiting list. Surprisingly, this small restaurant is pretty good! We highly recommend these authentic dishes: rice with ribs and chicken feet, #5 spinach shrimp dumplings, taro puff, shrimp Shu Mai, BBQ buns, eggplant with shrimp, shrimp wonton soup.

Google
The menu is impressive. They have so many delicious items to choose from. I have been back so many times now. A small quaint place and the owners and staff are so friendly. If you love Seasame Balls they have the best. Everything is always cooked perfectly 😋.

Google
2 star is for the service; but for the food, I give 1 star. The food is not authentic; quality is not good. We ordered 8 items so far, none of them worth trying. The steamed buns in Shanghai style had chives in there, I've never eaten Shanghai style buns with chives! And the main thing is the buns didn't taste good at all. The rice noodles (cheung fun) were very sticky, not sure if they were cooked. The dipping sauce for the rice noodles was so little, about 2 teaspoons. Some of the dishes were extremely salty. We will not revisit anytime soon. The food quality went down.

Yelp
Perfect. Multiple visits and amazing consistency. This location never disappoints. Be quick with your choice making as there is typically a line with shoulder to shoulder dining once in. i always make HK Dim Sum part of any trip to Houston.. as a necessity.

Yelp
I was thinking for about a week of where to go for Dim Sum. There are many places that offer it around the city. But one restaurant had me curious to try: HK Dim Sum. I would often overlook it since it is in a very busy plaza and was lucky dine in during a slower time in the day. I went with what I would typically order on a menu. The fried taro puffs, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, har gow, siu mai, custard buns and egg tarts. My cousin added on the steam shrimp rice noodle as well. Of course I had to get some Jasmine green tea too. Very flavorful all around and I was very lucky to have ordered the last egg tarts for the day. I was please with everything but definitely remembered my lesson to not over order. I am ashamed to find out I was always walking past HK Dim Sum when it is a solid choice and just enough seats all around not to feel too crowded. I will definitely keep HK Dim Sum on my mind if I am in a search for this cuisine. The staff were nice as well and prices are reasonable too.

Yelp
Prior to writing this review, I had no had Dim Sum in a very, very, very, very long time. Like I'm talking about years... dating back to pre-COVID. So I was VERY excited to go get Dim Sum for the first time in a very long time. Coming to this restaurant, the waitstaff and service was good, they were friendly and they spoke in a good tone. The ambiance and seating is very simple as well. Let's get to the real talk. The food. We got the following itmes: Har Gao (Steamed Shrimp Dumpling) Shu Mai (Steamed Shrimp and Pork Dumpling) Pan Fried Turnip Cake Deep Fried Taro Puff w/Meat Red Bean Sesame Balls Pan Fried Stuffed Bell Pepper All of these items tasted very good and were delicious! I highly recommend all of these for you to try on your next visit.

Yelp
We tried most of the seafood and tofu options but i honestly don't remember what is what. Everything we ordered was delicious & I would come back again! I wish we had more authentic dim sum options in Nashville! Staff were nice and accommodating to questions we had. We came after lunch so it wasn't busy at all.

Yelp
Located in the Dun Huang Plaza the restaurant is not very large and the chairs are kind of cramped. Came on a Friday afternoon with my dad for a quick snack around 1 pm and the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered ha gao, shrimp rice rolls, and chicken feet. The food came out hot. The two waiter there was attentive but never came back to top off our water throughout our meal. Food overall was pretty decent.

Yelp
Always been a solid choice for dim sum. I met my wife for our first date here in 2016 and we have been coming back ever since! The service is friendly and attentive.

Yelp
This is my new favorite dimsum place. I was pleasantly surprise hiw good the food was. The beef tendon noodle soup is good, the shrimp and pork shumai, the chicken feet and even tyr shrimp dumpling. The taiwanese style dumpling is a little bit let down, the wrapper is thick and there's not a lot of soup, the fried turnip cake is very crispy and flavorful. The service crews are very friendly and attentive. The restroom is clean.

Yelp
I think this is a great option for late night dim sum. Very affordable. The fried rice was great, preffered the pork shumai over the shrimp. I thought the bbq pork buns were actually really good. Regular pork dumplings were standouts. Sesame balls were pretty good. The crystal shrimp were decent and worth getting if people like those. The chili oil here is stellar. Would probably still go else where for dim sum during the lunch time but was a good option for dinner.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
A little intimidated to try this place because it was my first time getting dim sum. The menu was easy to use and I honestly believe you can't choose the wrong thing. Super quick and efficient service. Everything we ordered was delicious! We loved the chili oil so much we bought a container to take home.

Yelp
Nice place. Of course quality is expected considering the shopping plaza it's located in. Very small but clean and inviting atmosphere. We had various dumplings and noodles... There wasn't anything I ate that I did not enjoy. The service was quick and friendly as well. They were happily singing and whistling along to the music on the loudspeaker - which made me feel they enjoyed working here
google avatar

Carol C.

Yelp
Not bad. They didn't have soup dumplings and scallion pancakes but had many other options. The service was good and food came out quick too. Everything tasted great.

Yelp
The waiters were very friendly and kind. The hao cao and #48 were very good. The pork & shrimp shu mai was okay, and the size of each one was very large. I'd come here again.

Yelp
Convenient place to grab dim sum on the go. This area tends to be crowded, so I suggested ordering ahead. I highly recommend the shrimp rolls and any of the desserts. I also enjoy their shrimp fried rice. Staff is kind and the menu comes with photos which is extremely helpful!

Yelp
The food was hot, fresh off the cooktop, and deep with flavor. Lisa was an amazing host and her energy was infectious. Coming from a non-Chinese background I felt this is what a home cooked meal should taste and feel like.

Yelp
Okay, first off I have to say this is a review from my wife and daughter. This isn't really my kind of place, BUT they love this place. We come every time we're in town and they always leave stuffed and happy. Second, you need to understand how things work here. The staff are extremely efficient. They bring you the menu, you pick your items, and the kitchen starts making it. You get the food served hot, as it becomes ready. Very different style than in American restaurants. So accept it and eat it as it comes up. Also, know that when you finish a dish they will scoop it up to make food for the next thing. It's their world, we just live in it, ok? The interior may not look like a Michelin restaurant, and that's really ok. The food SO makes up for it. It's clean, close, and efficient. What more could you want? To summarize, ... Go. Eat. Enjoy. You'll thank me.

Yelp
I had originally plan to go to Dim Sum King for a late Sunday Dim Sum session after a long drive in from Austin. However, I came back into town pretty late and DSK was going to be closed by the time I got in so I decided to go to the next best thing, HK Dim Sum, since it closed later on a Sunday night than DSK. Food was legit - I had a friend who was visiting in town and she pretty much loved everything that she'd tried. However, the service here was pretty meh even for Chinatown standard. When we'd ask for something from the waiter (like an extra sauce, for example), he wouldn't even acknowledge that he'd heard us and would just leave and then came back with an extra sauce. The only time that he would acknowledge us for anything is when he didn't hear or understand what we wanted. I mean, is hospitality dead in here? When I received the check, a 15% tip was already added to our total bill. There were THREE people in our party!! I didn't realize that this place would add an automatic tip for a party of three people. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where a tip is automatically added unless there's at least six people in a party. I mean, I was going to tip at least that anyway, but had I not checked that the tip was already added, I probably would've double tipped because I wouldn't have been expecting that automatic tip on the bill. I'll be back only if DSK is closed. Otherwise, I'll stick with DSK

Yelp
It was okay. I feel like it's a hit or miss because last time we came it was a lot better than today. Everything was very dry and not flavorful. The pork buns were way too sweet The texture of the cheung fun was sticky and soggy which was kind of gross. :(

Yelp
Used to be a go-to dim sum spot for our family until about a year ago. While with my elderly mom and dad, they tried to auto-grat us for 5 people without letting us know AND the policy does not exist. When confronted, they tried to explain but I would not let it go so they finally gave me another bill without the auto-grat. Haven't been back and won't be anymore either

Yelp
I went in with a few friends and we had quote a few dishes (unfortunately I forgot to take pictures). Most of thr food was just ok, nothing crazy stood out. The tea was steeped for so long and didn't taste like much. It was about $100 for 3 people with a small amount of leftovers and I cskt say I'd go back. The service was good though, they stopped by the table a lot

Tony R.

Yelp
Very delicious and authentic the owner is a is a dim Son chef and the food is awesome. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Klara B.

Yelp
The food was great, and the service was excellent! Lisa was super sweet, as were all the staff collecting our orders and bringing out the food. The ambiance was nice as well. We felt right at home. Also a great price too!
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
There's a lot of positives and negatives about this place, so not surprised about the mixed reviews They've updated their hours and prices. Also was surprised about the already added gratuity for a party of only 4. Now onto the food: Steamed shrimp dumplings (7.5/10): definitely one of the best things here and one of the best steamed shrimp dumpling I've had at a Houston dim sum Bird's nest shrimp: (3/10) there was barely any shrimp and was super dry Fried shrimp rolls (7.5/10) accidentally ordered these thinking it was the birds nest shrimp but pleasantly surprised! One of the best dishes we had Shrimps shumai (7/10): I'm not a fan of mushrooms, so I like these. But for fans of shumai, you may think it's missing some flavor Chicken feet (7/10): Just your standard chicken feet. Not bad, just okay

Yelp
Let me tell this place is getting worse dirty and service gets worse. I can and did over a $200 order the people are so rude. When you as the lady with glasses for sauce for 6 order of Chan Fan she tore into the bag and said you have it her. All I ask is more since it was 7 orders. I bought so much shrimp dumplings and Shu mai and did not get any soy sauce. When I asked for it was like I was asking for something odd. The guys said it is in there. I showed him it was oyster sauce for the Chinese broccoli no soy sauce. As I waited saw roaches by the packing area. So disgustingly I gave up and decided that between the dirty place, awful service, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Ann L.

Yelp
Go-to dim sum, can do no wrong here. Located in the Dun Huang plaza. It gets pretty crowded here but they're pretty quick on service so I never really have to wait to be seated. After trying other dim sum places, this is now my favorite place to get dim sum and everyone I take here also enjoys it. You order off the menu and the dim sum comes out pretty quickly. Everything is hot and fresh. Top items to try are the crab puffs, xiu mai, Chinese brocolli, beef rice rolls, and the fried eggplants with shrimp. Services are friendly. This place is very casual and feels homey. I prefer these kind of places to get dim sum. Always hit the spots when I'm craving dim sum.

Yelp
Charged us for food we did not receive and argued with us. We ended up having to pay for food we never got. Service was not good and food was not that great. Will not return.

Yelp
Beware! We had a worst experience tonight in this place! First , the server, we were just about to be seated (4 of us) then she immediately asked for what drinks we want, without giving us a chance to sit first and check for the menu , then we all decided just to order for a regular Coke, then she just put the menu and piece of paper with a pen on the table and left and came back and served our drinks without asking us if we know how to place an order , maybe the server assumed that we know how , but even then she should be accommodating, then she came to our table and and then just grabbed our order and again without asking us to clarify our orders and I was the one who told her that we need to order the other items and she said yes I know! Then came back and just marked one of our order telling us that they run out of that custard and without asking us if we have other option! We were starting to be upset but we manage to stay cool be considerate since we ordered a lot of dimsum. But we were already wondering how come the server is like that. Poor customer service . Then, i have noticed that the other server was haunting a customer from outside and we were curious why she is doing that ? Because we saw that the customer who just left paid their bill. Then as they serve our food , it was ok at first though it was not serve at the same time and maybe because they their kitchen were busy . We tried to enjoy our food and started to review each dimsum and we discussed within ourselves comparing which dimsum we love the most etc. The server kept coming back and staring at us and all of a sudden removing our empty plates without asking for an excuse if its ok for her to grab the empty plates but its alright maybe she is in a hurry to wash them since our table is like a buffet of dimsum We asked for extra table napkins and we were disappointed because the napkin looks like the leftover from the previous customer she grabbed it from the basket from the door side ( i have take a picture of it) of course we did not use it instead we used it to wipe the table. The server went to our table and grab a piece of napkin and wipe the cover of a chili jar and ask telling us to cover the jar since we are done eating!! Wow! Can she not do it when all of us leave ?? This is the part that every customer should be aware of!! When we paid our bill i left them with 10$ tip only because we were not happy with their service! We know that the minimum is 15% but as a customer we have the right bot to follow the minimum tip especially if the service and the food is not really that good! But the lady threatened us that she will add more tip into our bill! Then she turned her back and started to talk shit about us in her language. She has the nerve to ask why we only give her 10$ tip and I was honest enough to tell her that its because of their service and why would she threatened us that she will add more tip to our bill!! Can she really do that?? Dont she think that we can always dispute the amount if she will really do that?? Now, it makes sense why she kept on haunting the customer when they left after she check the total balance if the customer has really left a 15% tip! This is the only asian restaurant that we have encountered like haunting for tip We this will be the last time we will eat in this olace and I will make sure to tell all my friends not to eat there .There are more dimsum belaire that are clean and friendly atmosphere. By the way we left our to go order ( sesame ball) we waited for 15 mins and we thought she will never give it to us and we also thought they may spit on it before they will give to us so we decided to leave.

Yelp
I was here with a friend visiting from Kauai. We were hungry at 10:00 am. Unfortunately, I can't take him to my favorite restaurants in Chinatown because not a single one was ready for lunch. After deep diving on Yelp app, we found HK Dim Sum opens at 10:00 am. The place filled up quickly after we arrived. But that didn't excite me. Since I could never finish all the dishes I want in one setting, I always need a tag-alone. This was a perfect opportunity. When I eat dim sum, I have certain expectation with delicacy and flavor. I felt bad about my friend tolerated its mediocre quality because there ain't any dim sum restaurant on the island that I know of. We ordered 水晶蝦餃皇 Steamed Shrimp Dumplings 鮮蝦燒賣皇 Steamed Shrimp & Pork Dumplings 迷你珍珠雞 Steamed Sticky Rice - they came with 臘腸 lop cheong sausage on top of rice and wrapped with lotus leaf. But it looked like 腊味糯米饭 Lo Mai Gai. 住候蘿白牛雑 Mixed Beef Tripe with White Turnip - my friend loved the pleasing taste, but I didn't care for. 鮮蝦腸粉 Steamed Shrimp Rice Noodles - all ingredients were wrapped with thick layer of rice noodles. Really tough to eat. 蜂巢炸芋角 Deep Fried Taro Puff - this dish was my favorite. It had crunchy shell and creamy center. Because I don't normally eat dim sum, I can't tell what is good to eat. I was glad he filled the table with food and we took leftover for later.

Yelp
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place and figured one day I would try it out for myself. We ended up here for Saturday brunch because our usual breakfast place was closed. Its usually a good sign when a dimsum place is made to order, but all of the dishes here were underwhelming. They are packed inside but it's a facade because they are so slow with getting food out that you end up staying for a very long time. We came at 12:15, put in our order quickly and it was 1:00 before our first food item came out. Things we tried: Shrimp dumplings 7/10 - the best thing we ordered here honestly. Potstickers - 5/10- they were fried well but the filling was just so so Beef chow fun - 3/10 (there were literally 4 pieces of beef in the entire plate- see photos). How can you charge almost $12 for this?! Chinese broccoli w/ oyster sauce - 7/10 this tasted just fine but not sure why it took 45 min+ for this to come out. It's the simplest item on the menu to make... just boiled broccoli and oyster sauce from the bottle... Chinese fried doughnut 油条 - they were sooo small and not satisfying. I have bought frozen ones from the Asian market that were larger and more tasty Congee- 4/10 again should've been very quick to come out as it's usually premade since it's supposed to be simmered for hours for more flavor. But I felt they had to make it on the spot because it tasted very bland. There was also very little meat/duck egg inside. Sesame balls - 6/10 these tasted decent they just took ages to come out I understand some of the fried items take longer to prepare, but the Chinese broccoli and congee should honestly not take much time so it was disappointing to wait so long for our food. On top of that it was a rip off that there was so little meat in the food we ordered. They also charged tip automatically in a table of 5, which I find odd as most places don't add gratuity until there are 6+ people especially in Chinatown.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Probably the worst dim sum I've had and I've tried dim sum from all over the country. Everything was bland and lackluster. I had to drench everything in soy sauce to get some sort of flavor. Their siu mai was unusually pale and looked really unappetizing (and tasted like it too). Other classic dishes like turnip cake and cheung fun were so oily and greasy, making it difficult to eat more than a couple of bites. The chicken feet had an odd aftertaste, but were big and cooked well so that's something I guess. I came because I was recommended it, but I was highly disappointed. I'd recommend going elsewhere because it was not good at all. Service was quick and friendly though, but that's probably the only positive thing about this place.

Mo' B.

Yelp
A wait to get a table is usually the sign of place thatʻs worth waiting for. Extensive selection of authentic dim sum, dumplings and other brunch dishes served all day

Sven W.

Yelp
try these you won't be disappointed har gow shumai steamed ribs shanghai dumpling mix meat dumpling fried shrimp puf

Jo L.

Yelp
I love dim sum and have tried many restaurants. I saw this restaurant on "Eat Like A Local" and decided to try it. I brought my sister along and we ordered 10 different items, intending to bring our leftovers home to enjoy it later (and yes, I know it's better fresh than reheated). Every single item was incredibly delicious. There is so much love and thoughtfulness evident in every single item. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The place is incredibly clean and attractive. We loved it so much we plan to return tomorrow to enjoy some other items on the menu. You have got to try this place!

Meow M.

Yelp
Worse dim sum place I ever had. Food - old and not fresh at all. For instance, the simple sesame ball had sour-tasting red bean filling, and the rice sesame shell outside was hard as a rock, suggesting it was reheated. Jasmine tea - made from leftover leaves, not even using cheap tea bags. Services - poor response, requiring repeated calls before they attend to you. Overall, not recommended to anyone.

Yelp
Another stop in our monthly dim sum tour. Each month, a new spot. We came on a rainy Saturday, the store was mostly empty. It was glorious. We had a very good meal, see the photos. Service was fast, and fantastic. The food was hot and tasty. Very good, and worth a shot!!

Veronica J.

Yelp
Haven't had Dim Sum in a long time, this place is usually packed when I used to visit often. For some reason it was sort of empty on a Saturday afternoon. The food was really good but they took forever to bring us our next dishes. We were two dishes in when my husband was still waiting for his bowl of rice and we were done w/our plates by the time the chow fun came out. We ended up packing it up to go w/whatever we had leftover.
google avatar

Yelp
Small dim sum shack not suitable for dine in during the Covid-19 pandemic. Tables were very close to each other. I ordered the usual popular dim sum dishes to go. It did not take long for the kitchen to fulfill my order. Pricing was competitive. The whole family enjoyed the foods.
google avatar

Timmy W.

Yelp
The place was packed when we went, which is usually a good sign. Unfortunately this place was less than average. I'm very thankful we didn't order a lot of food. We got congee, shumai, shrimp balls, and tea. The only thing holding me back from giving this place one star was the tea. It was freshly brewed and refreshing. On the other hand was the food. The congee had too much ginger, to the point where It was overbearing. The shumai was doughy and lacked flavor. Lastly, the shrimp balls had a rubbery texture. To make matters worse, their internet went down, so we were forced to use cash. Overall, I wouldn't come back. There are plenty of other options when it comes to dim sum in this area.
google avatar

hi G.

Yelp
Not really sure what happened to this place over the years. Our experience was very subpar. The only good dish was the shumai. The fried bread was too hard and gross. The rice rolls were too soft and we found clear wrap in it!! The fried taro puff was hard and tasted like it was fried twice. The shrimp dumpling had holes in it. Overall, very bad experience. Not recommended. *edit* lo and behold this place didn't even make it on Eater's top 13 places to get dim sum in Houston.

Yelp
This is a very nice, casual dimsum restaurant in Bellaire. When I want to eat dim sum from the cart, then I find another place but when I just want to sit down and order, HK Dimsum is the place I go to. My favorite is the pork-shrimp shumai. I forgot to take pictures of other dimsums because I was too busy eating. The place is not big and not too clean and the servers are not too kind, but their dimsums are very good and that's why I keep going back

Yelp
To be real with you, if you want authentic quality dim sum, then I'd recommend places elsewhere with the carts rolling around just so that you can have a fun experience of picking and being surprised with what each cart has inside their covers(ex: Ocean Palace or Fung's Kitchen). In addition, the quality you find in places like that are incredibly different and more upscale than places like this. However, why do I always come back here? Whenever I get hangry it gets real nasty and I want food asap. This is a small place, but you can expect the wait to be minimal because once you place your order, the food gets to your table in about 5-10 minutes. But of course, there are a few hits and misses with the quality and taste of certain orders here. But here are my go to faves (aside from the spare ribs): The chicken feet. It never disappoints and the feet are incredibly HUGE. And I like it solid and whole. Some places I've seen break it halves in their order but NO. Give me the whole thing, sis. My bf really likes the gailan as a palette cleanser and it comes with hoisin sauce; it's definitely refreshing to combat the grease of other things. He also says the spare ribs are good. The shu mai are decent. It's more of a placeholder for my craving of better shu mai, but it'll do. The pork is not as chewy as I prefer it to be. It's more mushy here. My last TOP 2 FAVES here are the ha cao and the shrimp steamed rice noodles. The shrimp here is good you guys. I approve. The ha cao is really good and the skin is really soft and chewy. The rice noodle is also really good. This time they oversteamed it a little bit, but not too much that makes me dislike it. Overall, def a goto for a quick in and out when you're hangry or hungover. Get some hot tea while you're hungover too lol.

Yelp
TLDR; FOUND A ROACH. This place the moment you walk in does not seem very sanitary. I also went to the restroom and there was an unpleasant lingering smell that was definitely not from someone who recently went to the restroom. I ordered $64 plus tip worth of food togo with my friend so we could go back to Sharetea to study. We waited more than 20 minutes when we were told it should take only 10 minutes. We ate the food with our friends and EVERYTHING was super bland including the sauce. Okay cool right? At this point because everything tasted nasty, I carefully took a bite of the sesame ball. I look into it because I'm already sketched out and I find a whole fucking baby roach inside the red bean paste. There's security cameras in sharetea if anyone thinks I placed it in there myself and if the owners want to check we found it around 8 pm today 12/5/19. This place needs a health inspection or shut down.

Yelp
I didn't think it was possible to be disappointed in a dim sum place-- I always thought dim sum is delicious in any setting -- yet here we are :( We came in on New Years Day after Fung's Kitchen had told us there was a 30 minute wait there. We called ahead and HK told us there was 0 mins wait for 2 people and we could be seated immediately. We walk in and omg, the line was out the DOOR. The waitlist had 7 parties in front of us. False advertising much??? We cut our losses and agree to wait. 30 minutes later, we are finally seated and end up still having to share a table with another party of 2 because the entire space is so cramped and most likely violating every fire hazard imaginable lol. We ordered ha cao, birds' nest shrimp balls, steamed barbecue pork buns, and shu mai. Everything came out one by one, yet everything was cold and bland??? There's no flavor when you bite in, yet, a weird aftertaste I can't put my hand on. The steamed barbecue pork buns were the most disappointing I've ever had, and almost had this strange consistency and artificial bright orange color that didn't taste like pork, more like a tangy sugar??? Luckily we knew when we were done, and our check came out to be less than $20 for 4 servings for 2 people. Prices are fair, service is fine, but food leaves something to be desired.

Yelp
This is usually my go-to for dim sum, but there were a few "hiccups" this time. First of all. The service was slow. I had to flag down the server to place my order instead of them checking on me after I had been sitting there for over 10 minutes. I ordered my regular stuff - shrimp dumplings (delicious), shrimp roll (the shrimp tasted like it had been frozen and not fresh at all), sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf (sour/spoiled - we had to send it back), cai Lan (you can't go wrong with that since it's just steamed), fried shrimp w/mayonnaise (my fave of the bunch), and fried turnip (a little too dough-y this time). I know you get what you pay for, but it definitely wasn't worth $44, which is what we paid after tax/tip.

Yelp
Most uncomfortable lunch ever. Had to tell the workers in the restaurant to stop arguing in front of my girls. They are talking in Cantonese and cussing at the customers and talking bad about them in front of their faces. Never going to HK dim sum ever again! Steer clear!

Yelp
5 stars because the customer service was excellent and the staff was SUPER nice! Pricing is about the same as the typical dimsum you find. $2.99 for small plates, $3.99 for medium plates, and $4.99 for large plates. I got 4 dimsum plates and a stir fried beef noodle and total came out to be almost $28 before tax. Bathroom looks kind of dirty but I came for the food so it's negligent.Food was really good and I felt that the dimsum pieces were considerably large! Would come back again for my dimsum fix. Update: 7/19 Maybe because of COVID, they're extra busy with take out on top of spaced out dine-in. There was no greeting and I waited at least 5 min before someone even acknowledged me even though I was standing in front of the cashier to place my to-go order. I really hate updating my review to a worse one since my first experience way back was really great. But take-out dimsum just doesn't quite cut it! Food tasted a little weird to me, NOT fresh at all. I had the sticky rice and it had a good amount of meat in it but was really salty along with the friend turnip cake which was disappointing. Perhaps the only thing I liked was the steamed chicken feet which had a lot of flavor. They also raised their prices now (newest menu attached) so it wasn't particularly cheap for 6 items.

Yelp
Horrible horrible, I remember back about 5 years ago this place was amazing! Not sure what happened but the food deteriorated slowly. Last time I went was last week, I ordered take out, once I got home I found a roach under the food. Very disgusting, never coming back.

Yelp
Food was actually good but they need a facelift because this place looks dead. A lot of missed potential here

Yelp
First impression as I walked in is that the setup of the tables is very crowded. The tables are super compacted and close to each other and there is very little room to move around. The food itself is alright. Some dishes are good while others are not. The fried pork dumplings and fried taro dumplings had a good crunch but lacked flavor. The fried noodles were average and pretty oily. The shrimp rice rolls, shumai, and the fried dumpling rice rolls were probably their best dishes that I tried. All the staff were nice but were very rushed, which was understandable because the restaurant was busy. Overall, I have had better dim sum. This place was alright.
