This has been my favorite ramen place in the midwest for the past 10 years. I don't get to come often since I don't live nearby, but when we do, we sometimes go out of our way just to get some good ramen.
Despite them only taking cash.
Despite the 11-some % tax (not their fault, yes)
Despite the loooong lines.
Despite the self service and crowded cafeteria.
I had the Shio Ramen (I always get the shio, at all the ramen places) and green onion rice combo. The price is the same if you get them separately, but if you order the combo, they'll give you a hard boiled egg in soy sauce.
Personally, I wouldn't order the rice again. I'm too full with just the soup, while my hubby might like an extra bowl of something. I kinda wish they had fried rice instead.
I ordered a large ramen to share with hubby who decided to experiment with tonkatsu this time around (but still wanted some ramen). The portion was pretty big, and there was a LOT of noodles, but not enough broth. This was the first time I felt cheated on the broth here, so I knocked off a star. It was nearing 2pm on a Saturday and they still had a long line so maybe they were portion controlling?
Other than not getting enough of the soup, though, I'm still in love with their ramen. I wish they were closer to me.
