12 Options for Steamy, Slurpable Ramen Around D.C.

"This massive chain out of Japan touched down in Tysons only a couple years ago, but its pearly white broth served in a cozy, brick-lined dining room has been around since the 1980s when the Santouka was founded in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. The specialty is the white tonkotsu soup." - Missy Frederick, Eater Staff

Where to Eat Around Tysons Corner

"This international chain out of Hokkaido made its D.C.-area debut with this Tysons location. Expect traditional varieties of ramen, like shio and shoyu, prepared with thin, springy noodles. A small collection of appetizers rounds out the menu. The restaurant is frequently busy, and does a robust takeout business." - Missy Frederick, Travis Mitchell, Tierney Plumb

When anyone's looking for ramen around the area, this is definitely one of the spots I recommend. The staff's always friendly and respectful. I've tried the shio, miso, negi, and this time, the black garlic. My personal favorite is the negi. It brings a clean spicy taste from the jalapeño. The combo is such a great deal and I recommend getting the chashu gohan with the egg. The chasu gohan seemed to have a bit less chasu than normal this time around, but still a solid deal.

May 21, 2025: I would definitely come back again! The food was delicious. We were craving something homemade after a while of eating fast food, and we definitely made the right choice by coming here. We sat inside, and there was no wait time. The music was at the perfect volume for conversation or a leisurely meal. The staff were friendly and efficient; the food was ready about 10 minutes after ordering. It took us longer to choose with so many options (there's something for everyone). The noodles were in perfect condition, the broth had personality. The only thing I would have liked more was to brown the chashu a little more and ask for an extra portion of gyozas.

Food is very good. Ramen is authentic and very filling. Staff is very kind and attentive. Highly recommend the black garlic ramen and the karage chicken.

Everything has sugar, so I couldn't have anything. Why does everything have sugar? Not necessary. Disappointing. Wife and daughter ate. I just watched

From the moment we walked into Hokkaido Santouka, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism — and that was all thanks to Solongo. She was hands-down one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and super knowledgeable about the menu, she made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Now let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the presentation was top-notch. You can really tell they care about quality here. The ramen was rich and satisfying, the sides were perfectly cooked, and everything came out fresh and fast. Solongo made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was perfect. It’s rare to find that level of service and care. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be asking for Solongo again! Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves great food and truly exceptional service.

Great atmosphere. I ate the jalepeno tsukemen combo with gyoza and salad. Kimchi on the side. Wonderful meal and my first time trying tsukemen. The noodles had flavor, not plain, and had a great bite to them. The dipping broth was great and had a nice spicy kick but not too spicy for me. I also had their green genmaicha tea. Drinking the tea with the jazz music playing was very relaxing. Good food and experience for $36. I would go back when I'm in the area again.

Best ramen i’ve had in a long time! So flavorful and good. The black garlic ramen was amazing.

Google
Ordered Tonkasu curry and miso ramen... The chasu pork in ramen no flavor and has strong pork taste, it won't happen if it was marinated overnight. Tonkasu pork has a lot of fascia made it hard to chew... Not sure why people rate this restaurant so high. Nowadays, the ramen restaurants almost make everything from prepackaged ingredients except proteins and some veggies but they kinda failed task.

Yelp
The food is delicious! The ramen was not too salty and was very flavorful :)) the eggs were also perfectly jammy The service was also amazing!

Yelp
They have happy combo promotion going on with a great deal of appetizers and drinks. The edamame was good, also the takoyaki filling & topping are rich. I tried neginanban ramen & I would give it 8/10 with its rich flavor of the soup. My friend tried kara ramen, but it was not that spicy for him, and the soup is not flavorful. While, my friend loves the goma ramen! We all love the charsiu pork topping and the noodle texture. The service also the reason we're giving 5stars. Might come back to try another menu though.

Yelp
Atmosphere: Hokkaido Ramen Santouka features a cozy, modern decor with warm lighting and an open kitchen, creating an inviting dining experience. Service: The staff is friendly and efficient, offering prompt and attentive service. They are knowledgeable about the menu and quick to make recommendations. Food: Food is DELICIOUS!!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place, I was so pleasantly surprised. Note that they do have a student discount, so definitely take advantage of that if you can. I came here on a weeknight and was seated right away. I ordered the shiyake ikura gohan (rice bowl with salmon and fish eggs) and a takoyaki appetizer. I can't remember the exact name of the dish, but it was takoyaki (fried dough balls with pieces of octopus) topped with chili flakes, green onions, and spicy mayo. I can't rave about these dishes enough. The salmon rice bowl was the perfect portion size and you get a LOT of fish eggs. Mix the bowl together and you get bites that are perfectly salty, rich, and most importantly, balanced. I also liked the takoyaki dish, I've never eaten anything like it before, but I will be adding spicy mayo and toppings whenever I eat takoyaki next. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
A smashhhh alwayyysss!!! This is my NUMBER ONE go to spot in the entire area of Nova. I'm not even being dramatic. There's only one other spot that can compete and it's cause they have curry ramen. This place broth is sooooo good I really don't know how they get the broth spot on every time. The ramen quality is delicious. There's a farm they outsource all the veggies from so the veggies are always fresh. They have three bowl options to choose from (small, medium, large). I normally always order the miso based broth and a normal size bowl with pork cheek on the side. The service is normally quick and fairly kind. It's a very casual ambiance! They have happy hour, student discount, and meal bundles.

Yelp
I came to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka on a rainy Saturday afternoon. There is street parking as well as a parking lot. I will say that the parking lot is super pricey at $8.37 in the Park Mobile app for just two hours. We had four adults and two children in our party and were immediately seated upon arrival. The staff were great with getting the children settled and taking our order quickly. It was surprisingly not packed for a weekend, but I assume it was due to the nasty weather outside that we lucked out with seating. I ordered the Pork Katsu Bento that comes with rice, pork tonkatsu, edamame, salad, ajitama (marinated egg) and lemon. The portions were generous and filling. The pork tonkatsu was fried to a nice crisp. I appreciated that it wasn't soaked and drenched in sauce, only just enough sauce for flavor. I would definitely order this bento box again. I ordered the Kid's Shoyu for my son. This comes in an extra small bowl with noodles, one piece of chashu, one piece of naruto, seaweed, bamboo, green onions and filled to the brim with soup broth. This was the perfect portion for a child. Overall, the staff were attentive and checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. The food came out quickly and just as we ordered. I will definitely be back soon to try more menu items... even with the expensive parking I would make the trip since we enjoyed the food and had such a positive experience :)

Yelp
Love this place. Not only is the food delicious, but there's nearby street parking and a parking lot a block away, making it very convenient to go there. Service here is always great, with very friendly staff. And the setting is great for families and friends. It's casual, relaxing, and enjoyable. Every dish we've had has been excellent, with perfect flavors. This last trip my son and I tried a limited menu by getting the cold citrus ramen. It was different, but absolutely delicious, while my wife had the Japanese chicken curry. Also delicious.

Yelp
This is one of the better ramen restaurants in the DMV. Try the shoyu tsukemen (dipping noodles)! You won't regret it. The broth is rich and flavorful and the noodles are the perfect consistency. And the pork just melts in your mouth. It's happiness in a bowl! Service is fast and friendly. The dining area is small and cozy. This place checks all the boxes for me!

Yelp
Santouka is hands down the best ramen spot in NoVA! I ordered a ramen combo - which I would recommend for anyone trying Santouka for the first time or if you're pretty hungry. It consisted of a bowl of salmon rice with ikura, a ramen egg, and a ramen of your choice. You can choose the size of the ramen portion if you want to eat more or less. I ordered the kara miso ramen as I'm pretty into spice, but having tried much of the menu, I'd also recommend trying out shio, shoyu, or miso if you're not that into spice. The kara miso has the perfect amount of heat and comes with slices of chashu and slightly chewy noodles. The broth is really flavorful and will having you drinking all of it. The ramen egg has an amazing texture inside, it is ooey and gooey and well seasoned. The salmon rice and ikura is a nice way to temper some of the spice from the kara miso ramen and switches things up if you'd like something non-ramen to try out. The ikura are salty and umami and the salmon is soft and flaky. Service is pretty good. The wait staff is quick with serving food. As for parking, there are many parking garages in the Boro. You can park in any of those, but make sure to ask the wait staff at the end of your meal to validate your parking.

Yelp
Tysons is one of my favorite cities in NoVA, so I'm always on the lookout for good restaurants in the area that are truly worth going to, and I believe Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is one of them! For food we got the: Spicy Miso Kimchi Nabe with a side of Noodles Kara-age Chicken Curry Rice Spicy Miso Tsukumen (No Picture) I've been here multiple times, trying all types of dishes they offer. In my most recent visit I definitely was looking to try the Spicy Miso Kimchi Nabe, and it was absolutely delicious. A combination of Korean Kimchi Soup with a Japanese Miso Nabemono (Hot Pot), the flavors complimented each other so well: salty, savory, a little spicy, a little sourness, and the ingredients in the nabe were super fresh too! Love the presentation, they bring out a small portable stove with a fire tablet in it to keep the pot warm. My favorite ingredients were the pork belly and the napa cabbage, as well as adding in some noodles I ordered on the side. The Kara-age Curry Rice, along with their Tonkatsu Curry Rice are some great alternatives for those who aren't feeling soup/noodles. The curry is very savory and flavorsome, really nice cozy homemade dinner vibes, and the karaage is fried nicely, and tender on the inside, I just wish there was a bit more chicken pieces served with the dish, given the amount of curry. The Tsukumen dipping noodles are also a great alternative to traditional ramen. The dipping broth they give you is much stronger and bolder in flavor than your standard ramen broth, and the noodles here are on the thicker side. They have a lovely chew and texture to them, and I actually prefer the tsukumen noodles over the ramen soup noodles! Really delicious alternative. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive for our group, answering any questions we had and catering to members with dietary restrictions. One of our members food arrived a bit later than everyone else's, so they provided an extra egg no charge as compensation, which was really nice! Overall Hokkaido Santouka is definitely one of my favorite ramen places in Northern Virginia, and it's always on my list of recommendations to people looking for good ramen in the area!

Yelp
Ordered takeout for lunch. I'd give it a solid 3.5/5 stars. Broth wasn't bad but isn't the best I've had in NoVa. The piece of pork were small, thin and mediocre. Not bad but also not great. Could be better for the price.
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
I love the fact that they offer a variety of dishes and entrees other than ramen. The karage wasn't super crispy but the flavor was there, and it's a very standard chicken. I like how they emphasized a balanced meal and the miso soup was pretty good even without any tofu. The rice was fluffy and the katsu was so good. The salad has a bit too much dressing so I think it would be good on the side. Overall, a very solid place with very friendly staff. Will come back to try their ramen next time.

Yelp
My family and I went to the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival in DC a few weeks prior to going to the brick and mortar restaurant. It was...a festival, albeit a large festival. We tried many variations of Japanese street foods. The food selction was authentic as it could be across the street from the U.S. Capitol. Then, we got to a tent set up at the far end of an extensive row of options. I love ramen, and there's was only one person in line. Of course I got it! The broth...the chasu...THE BROTH! It was so simply prepared (chasu, shoots, nori, sprouts), but the flavor profiles were so complex. So, we decided to go to the brick-and-mortar location. It was even better the second time. This time, we had gyoza and tonkatsu. It was the best ramen I'd had outside of Japan.

Yelp
I've been here before but it was about 2 years ago. It is not my most favorite ramen place in the area but I went there to meet up with my friend from out of town. I got the Kara ramen, which was a spicy type ramen, and I would say the broth was very flavorful. The portion size, even though I got a large, was pretty average and it was lacking some toppings. Usually eggs are included in the ramen - the waiter did not if I wanted one but I would assume if they ask, then it's an extra charge. The green onions gave it a nice flavor but it could use some corn or some other toppings. I love how they decorated the restaurant. It has the Japanese atmosphere but it's small so I would recommend to call for a reservation.
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
They hit me with いらっしゃいませ I would happily come back just for that ngl The tsukemen is good but not spicy even though the menu said it was. Doesn't really matter though it's still pretty good. Would come back.
google avatar

Julia P.

Yelp
3.5 stars for the food! Ordered a large shoyu ramen and it was ~$17 which I thought was a pretty steep price for ramen. If it were cheaper (~13-15$) I might have given it 4 stars. Like the broth- not too salty but noodles could have been chewier. Service is fast and good which is a plus, they do validate parking so recommend parking in the garage!
google avatar

Yelp
If you want some good quality ramen, Santouka is a great place to check out in the Tysons area for it! Located at the new Boro shopping center, it's one of the nicer ramen places around too. So when it comes to ramen, I'm very basic (don't judge please). I like to let the broth do more of the work and not go too fancy with spice or toppings. Therefore, I just ordered the Shoyu Ramen as is, takoyaki, and tonkatsu. The broth was delicious and plenty flavorful enough without being too salty or anything which is a big plus since it uses soy sauce as a main flavor. The noodles and chashu were also cooked just right. The takoyaki, in my opinion was actually somewhat better than what I've had from other restaurants so I was a bit surprised. I'm not even sure what it was, but I'd order it again! My friend ordered the tonkatsu for us to share and it was also great! I'm not sure what you'd expect though because it's just tonkatsu.
google avatar

Devon M.

Yelp
This place is very good. They make their tonkotsu broth in house and add it to the other ramen offerings. They have very good pork cheek if you'd like to upgrade the regular chashu they put in the ramen. There's 3 different sizes to choose from: Small, Medium, and Large. The ramen here tastes more authentic than other places in northern Virginia. This place is always towards the top of mind when my girlfriend asks if I want to get ramen. The service here is always quick. We've been here with a large group of 9 before and got served quite quickly. And we've done many date nights here and gotten served equally as fast. They're always on top of it and we love it. The ambiance is very modern and casual. It's not a large space so I've definitely seen it get crowded and a wait be in the lobby. But when it's nice out there's also outside seating. It's located at the Boro so parking on the Main Street can be limited. But there's many parking garages nearby so plenty of parking still. Definitely recommend trying this place.

Yelp
It's been two years since my initial review, and this continues to be one of our regular spots to enjoy ramen. The experience is consistently good - perfect temp, flavorful broth and meat; prompt, knowledgeable service and casual not-too-busy ambiance. The real star of this place though is their app - become a regular, and you get free upgrades and appetizers. It's one of the main reasons to continue coming back. Also, this place is a rare jewel... there are only 3 states in the US that have this place: MA, WA and VA. Do yourself a favor and try it.
google avatar

Casey Lyn B.

Yelp
There was no wait time. Staff was very attentive to your needs. We ordered their ramen and Bento Box w/ karaage chicken. Food wasn't bad but there was nothing great or extraordinary about it. I would not eat here again because I know there is better Japanese food in the area.
google avatar

Sean L.

Yelp
Had Tonkatsu Curry Rice today. Overall average good, pork katsu is a bit harder in the middle, not as soft as other typical pound-out Japanese pork katsu, but still acceptable. Curry is also a tad too sweet even for Japanese curry. Will still repeat!
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
I enjoyed Santouka. My kids enjoyed Santouka. I think they loved their karrage and Yakult (that came with their meal) more than anything. The place on a Friday night (it was also cold and rainy) was not terribly packed. We all got: karrage, edamame, and the shoyu ramen with a couple eggs on the side. Food came out fairly quickly and piping hot (plus). The broth was tasty and the ramen noodles were nice and Al dente. My "small" size ramen was $13 and pretty much the same size as my kids $5.75. My cous ordered a regular size ramen which was literally a dollar more for what looked like 50% more; I would Def not recommend ordering the small bowl. Staff was attentive and friendly- we needed scissors to cut up the ramen and I was grateful the staff obliged. Decor was modern and clean. Restrooms were clean. *Validated parking

Yelp
Excellent ramen in the DMV area and our one and only go to spot. We kept coming back here and this time round, we tried the spicy Tan Tan Men, which is a seasonal specialty. Add it with a salmon rice combo and the portion is perfect for two people to share. The food was also served very promptly and we dined outdoor to seize the food autumn weather today.

Ken L.

Yelp
Ive been to this place over 30 times and it never fails to impress me. The food is delicious and the service is up and beyond!
google avatar

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Excellent! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The hostess was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The servers are wonderful, everyone works together as a team. The restaurant is neat, organized, and clean. Restrooms in the back are clean as well. The ambiance is laid back, which is always a plus. We've always enjoyed Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. Our first time trying this ramen spot was in Edgewater, NJ. Their ramen is of high quality and the price is right. The broth is incredibly flavorful. We really enjoyed their Gyoza and Karaage as well. I definitely want to try their Vegetarian Ramen next time. Overall, we had a lovely meal and I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yu Bin L.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better ramen places in the area. I got the kara miso ramen with a salmon bowl on the side. The salmon bowl is what you would expect it to be but the ramen was the main prize. The chashu was okay but the broth was very rich and flavorful. Service was good and the place was not too loud which is always a plus.
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
There were so many options for food that I wanted to try. I got the shio ramen, and it was just the right portions. The gyoza were okay, so I wished I had gotten some other sides instead cuz the salmon and salad looked really good (my friend really enjoyed them). Would definitely come back again. Service was quick and friendly. They even let us stay a lot longer even after we had finished our food.
google avatar

Sarah J.

Yelp
The tonkatsu curry with rice is LIFE CHANGING. I know it's weird to go to a ramen place and not get ramen, but seriously...get the curry. Service is always friendly and quick.
google avatar

Micah C.

Yelp
Amazing ramen. Great service. What else can I ask for? Came here on a weekday evening for some ramen with my family. Appreciated how you can add your name to a waitlist and get notified when your table is ready. I ordered the Tonkotsu shio ramen, their signature ramen. The broth was creamy and flavorful but not too salty. The noodles were cooked to perfection. I also got a soft-boiled egg on top (aji-tama), which was runny and silky. Highly recommend this, as well as the Karamiso if you're looking for something with more spice. I also really liked the karaage. Great appetizer. The chicken was crunchy, well seasoned and light, although I wish the pieces were bigger. The service was great here. Our waitress got our orders in quickly and stopped by our table to fill up our waters and see if we needed anything else. Definitely coming back again!

Yelp
DELIVERY - I ordered the Kimchi Ramen and the kara-age chicken for delivery as comfort food while sick. The food arrived, and I unpacked the wonderful looking ramen. When I lifted the lid on the chicken, I was less impressed. Wet blobs with a lot of the damp breading fallen off around them. I took a bite to see if they tasted better than they looked. Not really. I might have powered through with some condiment, but all that came with it was a packet of kewpie Mayo. That was not what these needed. The ramen itself was in a flavorful broth, and I enjoyed the bites with green onion or the couple of pieces of cabbage. Not so the bites with egg or charshu, which looked nice at first but was rubbery and tasteless. I am giving a little leeway because the delivery was farther than I expected (Doordash can be cryptic sometimes) so maybe it would have been a bit better piping hot. I don't think that chicken was ever going to be good.
google avatar

Jin P.

Yelp
Got here at 3:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon and was seated right away. I got the shio ramen set with the salmon bowl and egg. The food came out very quickly and the food was all around very good but I would have to say the quality has gone down since the last time I've been at Santouka. The broth was a little watery and could have been more flavorful (thicker). Personally, I thought that they may be not taking as long to simmer the broth to bring out the full flavor into the soup. Besides this, the price was also somewhat expensive as it costed $20 dollars for a ramen meal. Will try out other ramen places before I return.

Phuong T.

Yelp
Friendly service, quick and amazing curry with rice!! Definitely reccommend!! We had curry, takiyaki, chicken skew and ramen. All of them taste amazing!!
google avatar

Andres M.

Yelp
My wife and I were very impressed with this ramen spot! There are so many options and ways to customize your ramen that it can be a little overwhelming, however shoutout to Laura who was very kinda and gave us very good recommendations on what to get. She definitely knew the best items on the menu and her recommendations were spot on and resulted in such an excellent meal. We will be coming back here for sure.

Hwee N.

Yelp
If you love spicy, this is the one ramen, Negi Namban Ramen. My favorite Ramen whenever I come to Hokkaido. Very flavorful, delicious and super spicy
google avatar

Yelp
Santouka will always have a special place in my heart. Growing up it quickly became my favorite ramen shop in Los Angeles. At that time, Santouka's options within Mitsuwa marketplace were limited but I still fell in love with the Special Pork "Toroniku" salt ramen. Since then I've branched out and have had other delicious ramen shops but Santouka will always be a homey easy go to. Their ramen texture is perfect and the broth always leaves you wanting more. This location in Tysons also showcases new varieties or ramen that are sometimes a surprise but always end up tasting good. Overall really like this place and will be a consistent part of our rotation in the DMV area.

Yelp
December 2022 - COVID Review: My cousins and I chose to meet here for a reunion dinner, not knowing that we came an hour before closing. They were still nice with us and let us know when the kitchen would be closing in case we wanted to order anything else. We really liked the server that brought out our food since we were able to joke around with him as he announced our food as we claimed our dishes. The broth was good and so were the noodles! I wish I had gotten the memo to order a large ramen instead of just the regular size (still a decent portion). I liked that they had a combo deal as well so I'll probably get that next time. I understand that they were getting ready to close but we did feel like they started to rush us out towards the end even though a few of us were still in the middle of eating and we weren't even the last group in there.
google avatar

Dirk R.

Yelp
Great Ramen place. Kara Miso Ramen was delicious, not too spicy. Miso Ramen was also delish. Pork Belly, Gyoza dumplings were perfect as appetizers. They have Sapporo on tap and the Mio Sparkling Sake is a sweet fav with the ladies ... we will be back!
google avatar

AC D.

Yelp
We sincerely love this restaurant. We've been coming here for years, even during the pandemic, and they've always treated us like family. The food is excellent (and I've been to Hokkaido so I'm familiar with the ramen there) with so much to choose from. Our kids love the food too which is definitely a plus! Mr. Yoshi and his staff are warm, generous with their portions, and really put a lot of thought into what they're serving. We love Santouka!
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
The Shio and Shoyu ramens at Hokkaido are great. Would recommend to those wanting ramen in the Tysons area. The regular size bowls are definitely smaller portion than other ramen places that I have gone to, so keep that in mind. The noodles were bouncy and chewy and soaked up the soup well! I do think the place is a bit expensive for how little meat we got. I would recommend also adding some of the spice powder out on the table to add a kick to your broth! The interior is small and cozy and there's also outdoor seating as well.
google avatar

Jae P.

Yelp
The go-to spot for ramen in NOVA. I'd highly recommend going for the combo set, which allows you to enjoy a rice bowl, ramen, and side/appetizer all in one. The ramen is flavorful, the noodles are cooked perfectly, and the toppings all pair nicely with the noodles. The rice bowl is a great compliment to the saltiness of the broth. The service here is also fantastic, with very friendly staff. They also offer a rewards program for frequent visitors, so it can be easy to stack up points! Wait time can get very long at peak times so would keep that in mind if visiting at busy hours. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Alisha D.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped here to try their ramen. As we were in the neighborhood. We started with chicken karaage and then had our ramen. Everything was brought out to the table fairly quickly and looked delicious. The taste was good but i little lighter then other places when ordering. The interior of the place was very nice and I don't remember music so if there was some it definitely wasn't loud at all.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
I have been going to Hokkaido Ramen for over a year now, and I love coming here with my friends. All the ramen flavors are great, with Miso Ramen being my favorite. Ramen broth is rich and creamy, and I always leave full. I love the sides as well, especially Takoyaki and Tonkatsu. Amazing food and atmosphere, service is great as well. Highly recommend if you enjoy ramen and Japanese food.

Yelp
Quick service, best ramen place in NoVA! Takoyaki was great too! Highly recommend the spicy miso ramen or the tseukemen.

Yelp
Their shio ramen is sooo good! I usually get the ajitama, shio ramen, and gyoza. Fast service and constant promotions for students.

The vegetarian ramen was very good. The service was very quick and they provide great discounts for students.

Yelp
I have been here several times. I always end up sticking to my usual. Always start off with their Chicken Karaage here, it's always cooked perfectly and still super juicy. The chicken is perfectly battered and seasoned. Even though I've been here several times, the Kara Miso Ramen has been the only one I've tried. I just loved the broth, little kick and creaminess, sooo good! The only disappointing thing here is that, there is not that much topping in their ramen. There's additional charge of $2-4 so in that aspect, the pricing here is definitely not as friendly. Wished they added more toppings to their ramen. Their ramen is definitely more bare compared to other ramen spots. Overall, still a very nice ramen place to check out and very good broth.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try Hokkaido for a while as I'd heard great things about it, and I'm glad I did! Hokkaido is located in Boro Place, a new developing area near Tyson's Corner. Parking was pretty easy in a paid lot a block away. Food: -Karaage: super crispy chicken, not greasy or oily -Takoyaki: fried octopus balls with Takoyaki sauce and mayo -Shio ramen: signature creamy, light broth, not too salty -Spicy miso ramen: nice mild kick, flavorful broth Solid spot for ramen, with good portion sizes and comparable prices to ramen in the area ($14-16).

Yelp
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! Everything about Santouka Ramen is absolutely fabulous! The service is outstanding, the food comes out quickly even when it's super busy, the menu has a lot of options and every single item is cooked perfectly. Not only that but it's priced very reasonably and has a lot of different seating options. They also have a rewards app and it's great! I'm always getting free orders of gyoza or other coupons to use! After moving back from Japan, I had trouble finding a ramen place I liked. This one is my go-to.

Yelp
Excellent service. The menu has since expanded with a good Alex thing to pick from. They have combo sets, vegetarian option, rice and bentos. Hoping to have the option of Ramen and Curry rice set.

Yelp
I was a little underwhelmed by the experience, tbh. When looking at the menu and learning a bit about the story behind the restaurant, chef, and concepts, my expectations were raised. The "vegan" Ramen broth tasted great, but it looked a little underwhelming and the regular size is smaller than I thought. I wish they had vegan noodles, but they don't, so the waiter suggested substituting it with a side of rice. We got shishito peppers, which I also felt was underwhelming. I ordered the daikon radish and kimchi tapas, but the waiter didn't put the order in for some reason. The service was strange/off. The place looked busy for lunchtime.
