Holland Bar

Walking down 9th Ave. on Sunday afternoon, I spotted this tiny bar on the east side of the street, and I knew I had to check it out. $5 cocktails always catch my eye, ESPECIALLY in Manhattan! Hell's Kitchen now has a lot of bars, but I wanted something a little more intimate since I was solo that day. The Holland Bar was perfect! Inside, the bar itself is long but doesn't have much seating, and I can imagine its standing-room-only at night. Two other patrons were already at the bar when I walked in, so I chose a seat at the corner of the bar near an older lady who had clearly been there all day. The bartender, an even older lady, greeted me with a smile & asked what I wanted. By the time I was settled in my seat, my drink was ready. People and bartender are nice. The Holland Bar is small, dark & dingy, and I love it. I will definitely be back!

The last bar standing from hell's kitchen, the area change but Holland bar still there since 1960s. I'm glad I was able to go back to the neighborhood after 7 years and still see familiar faces

We had a great time at this bar. Our last night in NYC June 3rd 2021. The bar tender was amazing, Tonya! $8 for draft beer which wasn't bad at all for the location. Met some fun regulars as well. Next time we are in NYC we will go back and hope to see the same faces.

So I was there and had a great time. The bartender Naomi was great and made my night. She suddenly got angry and I felt a bit bad because of something I did and thought it was my fault, but I guess she was angry at the whole situation in the bar. Generally an awesome place with cheap drinks, but don't let the bartenders get drunk, they might make it a bit uncomfortable for the visitors.

Great bar, super friendly - very reasonably well priced drinks.

I love this super cool place very quiet and the best thing is that you can put your own music.
