Hollins Market

I was looking for K's Chicken. The market was super clean. It was quiet. It was still early in the morning. 10:30ish I'm sure at lunch time it's busy in there. They could use a few more stalls but plenty of options.

I went to Freshly seafood for a fish sandwich. It was awesome one of the best.

They have great locally packaged coffee options. Really makes the neighborhood feel complete and on par with other cities across the world (these kinds of bodegas are commonplace in Latin America). I come from Park Heights just to get whole bean coffee!

It's pretty empty here, even depressing. There are almost no vendors, and therefore not a lot of people. I hope they open the headhouse and turn it into something interesting, like a farmer's market, grocery store, study space, or event space. Above all, I hope this market gains vendors again and becomes the staple to the community that it used to be...Hollins Market has great bones, and in my opinion, lots of untapped potential.

Entire place is almost empty. The City needs to recruit more vendors and get some foot traffic through there.

the new grocery store is TERRIFIC - lots of great selections and organic produce too! the meat stall is also good to have. all the other stalls are pricey. i think a deli or grill joint would do very well in there if they sold their sandwiches for $5-10.

Not a lot of vendors open and existing stalls are a little pricy, but everybody is very friendly. The butcher station has plenty of great options that I could not normally find elsewhere, like chitterlings and fatback. Hollins Market is well worth a visit to support neighborhood businesses.

Little pricey but great food item and very fresh.

I haven't gone to this market for years. The market had a refresh three years ago. They reopened again two months ago. Like the refresh. Very clean and bright. New bathrooms that are gender neutral. Security guard on duty. Still like the way it was 10 years ago when it felt and smells like a market. Now it's sterile.

I visited this market for the first time while exploring a restaurant across the street. At first glance, the market appeared very clean, spacious, and full of character. However, it lacked the variety of vendors I was hoping to find. I believe this place has great potential, and with more vendors or investors coming in, it could truly flourish. With its charm and character, it could become a thriving spot in the area. I hope to see it evolve in the coming years.

I found a place here that sold Scotch Eggs! There were only 2 left. I got the remaining 2 and they were great! I also found a fried chicken place that had fried chicken livers and gizzards! Yummy! The whole place is remodeled and clean. Really nice!

Having never previously heard of Hollins Market, we ended up visiting when I won an Instagram contest to receive two beers from Mulberry's Bar & sandwiches from Big Softy's pop-up (located outside the market). Compared to other food markets in the area, this one was quite sad to visit. From reading their history, it seems they have fallen on hard times- as most of the stalls were empty- there wasn't much to explore, visit, or see. The customers seemed to be regulars, just hanging out at the bar, but it wasn't a very entertaining place to hang out. The bar had a decent amount of options beer & cocktail-wise but glad ours were free because hearing other's bills, drinks were very overpriced.

Produce stand.. rotten fruits & vegetables. You can count on 1 hand.. how many stands are open

I grew up three blocks from the market it's sad what it is now. I know people and places change but it's changed for the worst

Might just be in the top five for reasons to live in Pigtown which is walking distance from this market. Word. I love the produce stand here. Always fresh, great prices, super nice guy who is always at the register (I assume he owns it). The lost art of conversation can be found here- customers talking to each other, to the guy at the register. Charming.

I was introduced to this market by my coworker. So glad she did. This place is like an indoor farmer's market. The meats, produce, and seafood are so fresh. The prices are great! I'm totally addicted to shopping here ! Note: go earlier in the day to avoid crowds. They are open 7am - 6pm

Go to the newly opened Carnivore BBQ. I got a huge homemade brisket sandwich today (and FREE samples of smoked pig). The sandwich was topped with homemade bbq sauce and spicy vinegar coleslaw, all served up on a solid bun that didn't get squishy or wet from all those juices. Amazing new place! I'll be back. :)
