Raw Oysters Sicken at Least 80 People at LA Times Event in Hollywood | Eater LA

"Hosted the Los Angeles Times 101 Best Restaurants event on December 3, 2024, where raw oysters served that night have been linked by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to a norovirus outbreak: "This outbreak is associated with a multijurisdictional outbreak linked to oysters that have now been recalled. The recalled oysters are Fanny Bay Select oysters and Fanny Bay XS oysters from Pacific Northwest Shellfish Co, BC740SP with a pack date of November 25, 2024 or later. The date of the recall notice was December 13, 2024. Public Health is continuing to investigate the outbreak." At least 80 people reported illness after consuming oysters at the event; those who fell sick reported extreme gastrointestinal symptoms, including diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting. Hundreds of people attended the event, which featured a sprawling lineup of the region’s top restaurants and culminated in a countdown of the top 101 restaurants in Southern California; dozens of the restaurants cooked and served food on-site. L.A. Taco reported speaking to more than 11 people who fell ill after the event and noted that one participating restaurant served oysters at its raw bar. L.A. Taco’s editor, Javier Cabral, allegedly vomited more than two dozen times and described his experience as "the most horrible food poisoning." - Mona Holmes

Visited the palladium for the first time to attend my 2nd ever concert! It is so spacious even if it doesn't seem to on the outside! The event I saw was absolutely nuts in a good way! The team working there were absolutely helpful, straightforward with answers to my questions! Wonderful first experience!

Hubby and I came for the Foster the People concert. Great venue. Took an uber both ways to avoid dealing with parking. Had balcony seats- which are somewhat misleading, because you have to stand behind multiple rows of VIP seats and cannot get anywhere near the rail- and frankly can’t see the band other than tiny specs. So- we headed down to the GIANT pit/GA area and hung out there. Unless you are taller than everyone else, you won’t see much there, either, but better than balcony. The place was filled to capacity. The upstairs Lawrence Welk bar was fun and not crowded at all. Nice place to hang out for a bit and still hear the music and see the thru the windows. Bathrooms clean and plenty of them. Staff were friendly and helpful. We’d come back again- but next time these 2 short old farts will fork out the cash for VIP seats. :)

Google
Here tonight to see Poison The Well the venue was great so was the size and layout. Parking was pretty easy. My only issue was the food it was horrible. Be back here again for the shows not the food.

Google
My favorite venue for live bands hasn't let me down. Every time I have been, it's amazing! The staff are so wonderful and really go the extra mile to help you have a good time and keep you safe. Spiritbox show was another great example of their work. The show was sold out, and it was definitely packed inside, but it was well staffed for everything to run smoothly. Managed to get in and out of the merch line in 5 min. Drinks at the bar were no wait too, mo line at the bar in smoking area 😄. Thanks again for another fun night with some kick ass bands!

Google
The Hollywood Palladium is probably the best venue I've been to for heavy music in CA. The staff was all incredibly friendly and the venue was well maintained and clean. The venue is so well spaced out that it was very easy for us to get up to the barricade for the entirety of the show without being crammed with other people. The drinks were pricey, but the security guards were handing out water bottles between bands which was very generous. I would love to see a show here again.

Google
This is a REALLY cool venue. There are bars everywhere which is cool because it makes for short lines. The audio was cool and overall it was a great experience. Also a really nice and safe parking garage nearby made for a great experience.

Google
A big feeling room, but the sound was top-tier and the lighting and effects looked good. The cool art-deco vibe of the building is amazing. Only downside is drinks were as overpriced as I expected them to be at a venue like this. Still worth going if you like the act though!

Google
Super professional operation. Staff were efficient and knowledgeable. At least seven different bars around the venue. Smallish bathrooms with not a ton of capacity so get there early for that! Real fast entrance and egress. Street level parking lots nearby, and a garage off of Vine. Excellent excellent excellent sound, wasn't muddied up close like some venues.

Yelp
Ah, the Hollywood palladium. A storied music venue right in the heart of Hollywood. There's a lot to like about the Hollywood palladium. It's a really nice venue. It can see quite a few people, but it still feels intimate somehow. The facilities themselves are really nice. They've been well taken care of. Which I'm sure is difficult especially in Hollywood. The biggest downside to the palladium is, and I hate to say it, parking. I understand that parking in Hollywood must be a huge pain, but that is no exception for this location. If you're going to go to a show here, you're going to end up paying a considerable amount for parking. There's just no way around it. I know a lot of people who like to park in the neighborhoods, they end up driving around in circles for hours looking for a place to park. The only other option, is paying through the nose to park somewhere.

Yelp
I've been lucky to come to many shows at the Hollywood Palladium and had no problem with parking. Security is incredibly straightforward and got all of us into the venue without any delay. The staff were really friendly in answering my questions about where we could stand, and we could line up. It's a really nice venue with mostly standing room and some seats on the second floors. There is no bad area to stand in to see the stage. I didn't buy anything from the concession stands, but the people that did seem to have an easy time and a short line.

Yelp
First time at this venue to see Thrice perform their Beggars album! It was a great show and I'm yet again grateful to have the opportunity to see them live. Manchester Orchestra also performed and although I've never heard of them before, there were a few songs I really liked. But let's talk about the venue more. - It has a distinct old school vibe with the bumpiest popcorn ceiling I've ever seen in my life. - There's about 12 bars scattered throughout the first & second floors so if there's a line at the main bar, just go to one of the smaller bars nearby. - The main ballroom was set up for standing room while the second floor balcony had seats available (for more $). - We had VIP balcony seats (12 & 13); bar height with a comfortable back. There was plenty of counter space for food and drinks and dedicated wait staff to order from. It truly felt like an elevated concert experience. - Usually, parking can be paid up front when you buy tickets for a show here. Saves the hassle of trying to find parking nearby. Fortunately, we were staying at a hotel a few blocks away so we just walked over. #smart #lazy COMING BACK? Now that I know the lay of the land a little more, I'd love to come back for another concert!

Yelp
This is great venue with a historic old school feel. There is a large open floor for GA which is standing only and a balcony with a several tables and an additional standing area behind that. The sound is great and with the lighting, it enhances the whole experience. There staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful the whole time. They actually serve food which is pretty good and it is definitely a bonus. The drinks are good... although expensive as you would expect in that area. There is a good amount of parking at the actual venue. We were charged $45. There is an ADA line along with a small ADA seating area and the staff will make sure to give you any help you need. It's a top notch venue and I really enjoy watching concerts here. I will be returning!!! Enjoy!!!

Yelp
Last night I went to the Palladium to see Paris Hilton's Infinite Icon Experience. Let me just say that this was such a fun event and the palladium did a great job at hosting Paris's concert Walking in, I was able to access the merchandise Paris Hilton was selling for the event. I bought a shirt and the staff was very attentive and kind. There are also many bars scattered in the venue, including two near the main stage and one near the entrance. Keep in mind that the drinks will tend to be overpriced, but it's expected for a venue to rack up their prices. I believe a water bottle was $6 when my friend attempted buying and her cocktail was about $26. I will definitely say that the Palladium is a decent sized venue with a lot of standing room. There are no seats unless the event you attend allows VIP which is upstairs. I could see from the bottom that there were tables and seats for those who want to pay extra to enjoy. I couldn't tell if there were more bar areas upstairs. The staff was great with keeping the crowd moving and also keeping organization. I didn't feel overwhelmed being at this venue. Also, there are quite a few parking garages around the venue so you don't have to worry about finding a spot! I hope to come back to the palladium for another concert!

Yelp
They were slightly disorganized at first when they let us concert-goers in but they quickly recovered as soon as they sorted whatever issues there were. When the doors opened, we all rushed to the second floor where there were seats and we were grateful to have a good view. We're no longer spring chickens so we didn't want to be part of the huge crowd on the first floor. We had food and drinks while waiting for the band - they didn't have an opening act. We waited from 7pm to 9pm. Thank goodness for the excellent service from Pico! The food is decent but expensive, as are the cocktails. The sound engineers did a great job of making sure the sound was evenly distributed across all four corners of the venue. Even if we were on the second floor, the acoustics were great. Sound didn't saturate in just one area. Great venue! This is definitely one of my favorites for a concert.

Yelp
Oh mah gawrsh. I am chronicling my life on this here Yelp. 2001. https://linkinpedia.com/wiki/Live:20010416. Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park was key to definitive moments when I ripped free of adolescence whilst clinging to a raft of young adult sanity floating in a sea of collegiate dreams. I'm glad I saw Linkin Park at The Palladium. Happy night sober. No Dave and Buster's or Elephant Bar here. Or dancing crazy at a rave.

Yelp
One of the better venues in Hollywood, its shaped like a large oval so there's usually some more room off to the side on the left and right, but depending on whose playing it can get pretty crowded. Upstairs on the mezzanine used to be GA too but now its been fenced off for VIP for most events, so that kinda sucks. There's a pretty roomy outdoors area if you want to get some fresh air or smoke a cig. The security is pretty quick, but they are strict and thorough but as aways yMMV. The drinks inside are expensive, about $18 for a truly tall boy and I believe its like $18 a shot, so a double is running you like $30 something. You should definitely pre-game at a bar nearby like The Well across the street. It's Hollywood, so parking is horrendous, just park somewhere further away so you don't pay too much.

Yelp
I have been to the palladium around 50 times. It's always been one of my favorite venues. This is the 2nd time I've had a vip table upstairs. Very nice to have a table, stool and waitress! It beats standing for hours. You can still stand and dance with lots of space. It was about 120 a seat. My only complaint is the extremely steep staircase. It was not the easiest climb or ascent. We got a huge pretzel. It was very hot and the cheese was yummy nacho cheese. Would like twice as much cheese dip!

Yelp
Went to an EDM show. Paid $5 + tip to check my coat bc: dancing. When I got into the main room, I immediately regretted my decision, but spent over an hour hoping things would improve. We weren't prepared for the intense inside wind! The fans were on so high that it hurt. When I got my coat back, the attendee said they do that for when it gets packed. Well, it didn't get packed for hours. Was the employee who turned on the fans going home early and no one else could handle that job? It was miserable. Both my boyfriend and I ended up with bad viruses a couple days later. No doubt, we got a mega dose of sickness from the blasting fans shooting it into our faces all night. If the fans are for when it gets packed, they should wait until it's more crowded rather than make those of us there for the openers so uncomfortable.

Yelp
As someone who hates crowds and loathes concerts, the Palladium was an okay venue for a huge show (read: a show for one of the most popular bands of all time). I saw an intimate Guns N' Roses concert here in September 2019. Visibility was good from mid-floor. The place was packed and the crowd was obnoxious, but that's not the venue's fault. I couldn't come here again, as I can no longer stand on concrete for more than 5 minutes (there was no seating). When catching glimpses of it in the light, the Palladium is kinda spooky, in a fun way - it retains the aesthetic of a vintage ballroom, and it shows some grime and wear-and-tear from the decades of Hollywood history it's hosted.

Yelp
I came to Hollywood Palladium to see one of the Netflix is a Joke show. I did hesitate because I figured the Palladium will not have standard seating, but the tickets were cheap, so I decided to chance it. The parking is pretty pricey here. I didn't want to try to find other lots around, so I did opt to park in the lot across the Palladium, which was $40. Very expensive!! Aside from that, one of the benefits is that the venue is right across the street so it was easy to get there. Also, since the price was so steep, it was actually pretty easy to get in and out of the lot. As for the Palladium itself, the venue has old school charm, which I liked. It was interesting to see the venue inside. The restrooms were also pretty clean and plentiful. I never had to wait in line. The drinks were VERY pricey also. Shout out the bartender who was working there. They only sold Liquid Death for water, which was already pricey in addition to my drink. He ended up giving me some regular water. So appreciate that he saved me some money. The event required seats so they had some they had chair set up. It was super uncomfortable and the seats were pretty close and tight. The other thing I did not like was that if you are seated towards the back (which I was), it's actually hard to see the stage especially if someone taller is sitting in front of you. I actually saw a lot of people just standing in the back, which I actually did for a little bit. I am not sure if I would come back here for any events that require seating, but probably would come back for a concert here.
google avatar

Brionna K.

Yelp
Came to see Mike Epps comedy show for Netflix is a a joke fest! This venue is nice and clean with friendly staff. The air conditioner was blowing making all guests comfortable. Drinks were pricey as expected but were great quality. Wasn't able to try their food as I had plans to eat afterwards. Would love if the seating was more comfortable as there were basic chairs with no cushion placed for everyone. Also maybe if there weren't so close together.

Yelp
I come here to rave... I've seen Valentino Khan, Worship, and a few others. Love the venue!
google avatar

AJ A.

Yelp
My favorite part of the Hollywood Palladium is the amount of space and ability to see the stage. I came here to see Ice Spice on her "Y2K! World Tour" and was able to get a good view even from the floor/GA. I would recommend scoping out the venue for a good spot, because some of the best places for you to be might just be in the standing area just outside of GA since it's elevated. I appreciate the staff of The Palladium who were consistently respectful and keeping us safe. Staff in GA were going around making sure people were okay and were constantly handing out water bottles. On top of that, temperature control is a big plus with lots of good ventilation.
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
I love the Palladium because it's one of the few venues in LA that checks almost every box. The sound is never bad here unlike places like The Wiltern and can get a pretty good view of the stage no matter where you're at (unless there's a tall dude in front of you). Drinks are expensive of course as with all music venues, but you get a good variety. Pro tip there is always two merch stands, one by the entrance and one to the right of the entrance of the hall. The line is always significantly shorter there. Parking can be expensive because you're almost always at the mercy of the parking garages around you (they have a small parking lot but it's usually full by the time doors open) but you have plenty of places walking distance. If one of your favorites plays here you are always guaranteed to have a good time, just maybe pregame at a bar nearby if you want to save some money. Also recommend using parking apps to find deals on parking nearby.
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
Your standard music venue in Los Angeles. We came here on a Friday to see Chelsea Cutler. The entrance to the venue is pretty difficult to find if you are not parking there. The entrance is a very small opening located on Sunset Blvd. If you are driving, I recommend skipping the Hollywood Palladium parking and parking at a lot right next to it at half the price. We parked at an attended parking lot next to the Chase Bank about 1 block away. The place sells your typical cocktails and some food. One neat thing I found out was that the popcorn has unlimited refills. You just go back to the food counter and hand your popcorn box to the attendant and they'll refill it. There were two merchandise areas, one at the entrance and another all the way at the end of the venue, past the bathrooms. Sound system was decent!

Luis N.

Yelp
Easy to get in & out of restrooms. Plenty of bars. Best of all, you can actually find out set times unlike pretty much every other venue. Security line moves quickly. Thats enough for me to have a good time

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I wish I could give it zero stars. I had the worst experience at the bar with someone named Eddie. He was so rude and made me feel like an inconvenience to be at his bar. I ended up going to a different bar and having excellent service Would definitely would not want to go back if he was serving me.
google avatar

Brady M.

Yelp
This is a great facility with many great acts. Standing room only unless you pay for the balcony. They have two merch areas a single food counter and multiple bars. The staff is friendly. Biggest complaint is they don't always open when they are supposed to making fans wait outside past open door time. Also made us pay $5 to check in our umbrella. Look for the hot dog vendors after the show!
google avatar

Morgan B.

Yelp
This was my first time at this venue and we went to see Gareth Emery's Lsr/City. I honestly loved this venue! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing especially with the friendly people in attendance at the event we went to. When we first got there we waited in a line around the side and it was a bit chilly and not too packed since we got there early. The security guards were pretty friendly and they do go through your bags and ask you to remove your hat. They don't allow backpacks over a certain size and no outside drinks including sealed water bottles so make sure you read through their website. They do have coat check if you need it! After we got in first thing we did was scout the place for bathrooms. The bathroom line can get long mid show and the toilet paper is one ply so either go before you get there or don't break your seal. There are plenty of bars and the occasional staff member walking around selling shots and drinks. I was told it gets super hot but we were in the back area by the ramps and it was relatively average temperature. After the show I recommend walking a couple blocks to drop the cost of the Uber or Lyft. I will definitely be back again.
google avatar

Ericka B.

Yelp
I saw Gareth Emery here and it was my first time at Hollywood Palladium. One of the staff told me they recently renovated the place and I was impressed by the looks inside. There are plenty of bars so it wasn't hard to buy any drinks. I also love how small the venue is enough to be an intimate experience seeing your favorite artists. The show did start at 8pm and they let everyone in at exactly 8pm so it was pretty chilly waiting outside but otherwise, getting in was no issue. Hope to be back!
google avatar

Sooin L.

Yelp
I have been to this venue now at least 3 times. The good things about this place is that the line moves fast and I park across the street in the lot. I don't like this venue otherwise bc it's like.. oddly wide vs long and I can't get a good view anywhere unless I'm in the very front. When the venue gets crowded you def can't see anything and people won't even leave a fire escape line open. Food and drinks expensive but as par the other venues in LA
google avatar

Vasyl Z.

Yelp
Wow, where do I even start? The Powerwolf concert was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment the band hit the stage, the energy was electric. The crowd was totally pumped, and you could feel the excitement in the air. The band's performance was flawless, and their stage presence was off the charts. Attila Dorn's vocals were powerful and mesmerizing, and the rest of the band played with such intensity and precision. The setlist was a perfect mix of their greatest hits and new tracks, keeping everyone on their feet and singing along. The lighting and effects added an extra layer of magic to the whole experience. It was a night to remember, and I can't wait to see them again. If you're a fan of Powerwolf or just love a good metal concert, this is a must-see!
google avatar

Marissa N.

Yelp
Nice Venue! Parking: If you come early, you can park behind the palladium (as of Oct 2023 it's $40 for parking), OR your best bet is to park across the street at the parking structure. Venue: It's quite beautiful inside! There's 2 levels, 1st level is the floor, 2nd level is seating. Obviously, come super early if you're short :-)
google avatar

Yelp
Literally everywhere I stood, I was a problem. An annoyance. Went to see Pulp, paying customer, and no matter where i stood, I was a horror. An imbecile. A disaster. -* this! Will never become here again. Will tell everyone to avoid. Had a palladium wedding table. Regrets!!!!
google avatar

Ariah L.

Yelp
I attended Netflix is a Joke last night. The event staff were helpful and had check in starting at the corner of the block. Most people had to check in their electronics/ phones in a locked bag. The line moved pretty quickly though Tip: Park at LA Fitness and walk over since it's close and you will save money. I didn't not have any drinks/ alcohol but the people next to me said everything was good quality. This venue is a nice size. I love the lighting. They could do better by upgrading the seats to make people more comfortable (they have basic chairs with minimal cushion) Overall it was a good experience and I enjoyed the show!
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
Great acoustics, reasonable booze prices. You want to be 15-20 feet away from the stage in the smack middle for best acoustics
google avatar

Ron W.

Yelp
I hadnt been to a show here in a minute . I won tickets for this one from Kroq - thank you ! Entry was fairly efficient considering it was raining - only took about 5 minutes to enter security and get scanned in. The show almost started right on time and the acoustics were good. The floor was not oversold as I have witnessed on past shows. Overall a good time and I look forward to returning .
google avatar

Ci'Mone R.

Yelp
Worst place for a concert. PSA to artist please don't have your event here. My husband is a professional photographer and videographer. Most places don't allow him to bring in his equipment. We check the website and it even says don't bring in any professional equipment. So we just brought our self stick and not the tripod. The venue didn't allow us to bring at selfie stick in 2024 Just FYI I even called the place before I got to the event and no answer.
google avatar

Raquel O.

Yelp
Very cool venue. I was here for concerts in my younger years but most recently visited for a business award ceremony. Security was great, location was clean and the event was very comfortable. Food wasn't provided by the venue, it was brought in. All in all, I enjoyed my visit and brought back memories from 20 years ago enjoying concerts as a kid.
google avatar

Alexander H.

Yelp
If you're an aging hipster like me, get the VIP tickets for the balcony. It's incredible. You get to sit with a table in front of you for the whole show with an excellent view of the stage. Also I'm sober and they have cheap ass liquid death's which rules. I love this place.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
I have been watching shows at the Palladium for years now. It has always been one of my favorite places to watch bands. Last night was my first time back in a few years. The large open floor still provides an amazing concert experience that is unmatched by many other venues in Los Angeles. A GA ticket allows you to watch the show from anywhere you want in the room. There are plenty of bars placed throughout the venue so you are always close to your next drink. Security and staff all seemed friendly to everyone in attendance. I would recommend trying to see an artist you like here. This place provides a great experience but they do need to work on the audio in the room. There were multiple times throughout the show that all of the audio cut out. This is probably the worst thing you could have happen at a concert. It disrupted multiple songs and made it difficult to enjoy the show during some moments. This is my only complaint about the venue right now but it is kind of a big one. I will definitely be back so another show so hopefully the audio issues will be fixed by then.
google avatar

Hailee D.

Yelp
really organized and staff are friendly. BUT you can't see shit at this venue! And the acoustics are just... not good. Been to a few shows here and left disappointed every time.
google avatar

Paulene L.

Yelp
I've been to the palladium plenty of times, not too many issues. Mostly for concerts- edm and kpop Parking- if not ubering, you can park in the back but you must purchase beforehand as it sells out quickly. Because it sells out quickly! I always use the parkwhiz app and park at the la fitness area. It is slightly cheaper! When I go anyway, the line for the event has always been extended near that parking anyway. The walk isn't too far. Food- no food! Just alcohol Ambiance- old feelsy, theater look. Walking in there are merch on the left. There are usually 2 merch areas the the merch area on the left is always the longest because that's the first people see! I recommend scouting out for another merch table first. I want to say the only con is the location as the spot is very busy and may be difficult to get an Uber

Scott G.

Yelp
This was handled So alarmingly bad by live nation Ticketmaster an d stub hub. We had a hotel here a drive from sam Diego, dinner and a special gift that was completely destroyed by waiting until 1 hr before the show to notify potential fans. Shame this was handled so poorly!!! Scott Gr
google avatar

Kellen P.

Yelp
Such a Hollywood Gem!! The theater isn't too big nor too small. It gives off those cozy, intimate vibes while still giving you space to dance and do your thing. The upstairs balcony is usually limited to VIP, but honestly, the GA section pretty dope. There are bars upstairs, in the lobby, and in the front lobby too (near the popcorn). Oh, speaking of popcorn, it's $8 for a box. I know, the box is small and that seems like a horrible deal. But wait! There's more! The box gets you unlimited refills. So go hungry, save on the pre dinner, and splurge on some Palladium popcorn .

Crisaris D.

Yelp
One of the better venues, floor is standing only with elevated bar areas near each side of the stage. its a medium capacity venue of about 3k, if you are able to get a good spot with no obstruction you should be good. the venue is always clean which is great the floor was so shiny i thought it was wet. no issues with the staff so far
google avatar

Tasha C.

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON VIP. They make you pay extra to actually sit at a table, and all of the tables are at the front. So my friends and I spend all this extra money on vip tix just to have to say bad in the back of the balcony the whole time. Bullshit. Don't do it.

Yelp
What's up: First time at the Palladium and first time attending an Alan Walker event. Was super excited when the dates for his WalkerVerse tour was announced and we jumped on grabbing our tickets early. Parking: When buying our tickets online, there was a special VIP parking option available. We skipped that and went with the local parking structure option, the one off on Vine St. The rate was pretty decent and if you get there early, you'll be able to snag one of the EV chargers. Environment: We got there about an hour and a half before the doors opened and we able to get a fairly decent spot in line. Once we started heading in, you'll be checked for your ID (event is for 21+), then you'll have to empty your pockets (purses are searched), and walk through the metal detectors. Finally, staff members will scan your tickets and you'll be allowed inside. First thing you'll see are all the refreshments to purchase. Head further in and you'll see the restrooms on the right and the main stage on the left. The event had 3 DJs for the opening act before the main event started. Security staff members were nice enough to pass out bottled waters before the main show started. The standing area can get a bit crazy and crowded if you're up close to the stage. What was ordered: - Tickets to Alan Walker - WalkerVerse: The Tour Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Although I wasn't super thrilled about standing all those hours before we got to the main act, the experience was amazing and well worth it. Alan Walker was totally bomb! Credit cards are accepted.

Yelp
The Hollywood Palladium was a great venue to go to. I was surprised how quickly security got everyone through and how efficient they were with everything. The concert I attended was amazing! The light and sound systems were top notch and definitely enhanced my experience.

Yelp
The reviews for this venue almost always mention it's great, but if you aren't 6 feet tall you CAN'T SEE. I paid full price for tickets and my wife who is 5'2" couldn't see a thing for most of the show. It's uncool. RAISE THE STAGE! It's a music venue. This is a known issue. The solution is SO EASY. Just raise the stage up a little. Respect paying customers. And for anyone who needs to hear this: record a snippet. Fine. But holding your arms up, blocking the view for entire songs you are NEVER going to even look at again is dumb. Stop it. Be aware.

Yelp
I've been here only a few times and although it's a nice venue from a music standpoint, security is rude and parking is too expensive. But recently my boyfriend's and friend's phones were stolen from the Basement show and a ton of other attendees also had their phones stolen. Lost and found coat check line was out the door and the lady wasn't sympathetic to anyone, brushing it off as if it was a common occurrence. I have a friend whose phone was also stolen back in April and a ton of other people at the same show also had their phones stolen. They should look into better security or even investigate employees because for this to happen at such a large scale more than once is insane. Usually when phones get lost at concerts, they're turned in or brought to the front barricade, and for lost and found to hardly have any phones is suspicious. Luckily my boyfriend found another iPhone and iwatch he was able to return to the owner, but his phone ended up down the street and on the freeway and couldn't be located since. Never attending a show here ever again.

Yelp
This was my first time ever at the Hollywood Palladium. My husband and I went to see Timmy Trumpet. Timmy Trumpet was absolutely fantastic. 10/10 The Hollywood Palladium itself, beautiful, very nice venue. They have VIP in balconies upstairs (seems wack in my opinion, if I Pay for VIP I wanna be as close as possible to the artist not farther.) The pit is where its at. Definitely get there early and you'll be smack in the front. I did not buy any food or drinks. (I don't even know if food was available, probably not, I only saw bars). Drinking is heavily advertised. About 3 or 4 times, Drink girls came by the front of the pit on the other side of the rails selling shots of liquor and energy drinks. The guests.... thats their own situation... however for that, I am knocking off 1 star. If guests believe that this behavior is acceptable at this location, this location must tolerate such antics. Timmy trumpet, solely, made up for the fact that some guy and his boyfriend kept grinding up on the back us and others..(Security confiscated a vile that they kept sniffing but let them stay in the crowd) Throughout the rest of the concert, more sniffing occurred and they smoked the most disgusting cigarettes I ever smelled. They had this bitter smell. It definitely was not tobacco. idk what it was. but it was so bad. it smelled like plastic burning in there. Kind of like chemically maybe. It was real bad. Every time I caught a glance at them, the guy in pink looked scary. Facial tweaks. Very wide eyes. Not pleasant. But Timmy Trumpet was great.

Yelp
Don't expect seating if you pay for VIP. We did only to find out that the only seating were for platinum and if you did upgrade you were sat almost behind the stage with no view other than equipment. Want a better view? Good luck. Staff were absolutely unprofessional in the way that they actively would disturb the patrons seeking out people to move that held no disturbance even know they had paid to be in the section they were standing in and not at their tables. Not only that but the constant unnecessary light pollution of the security guards and watching them pass random tabs/pills to each other in front of us.

Yelp
It was a nice venue.....However! At the end of the event my organization received push back when informing the male employee by the door that we needed access to the nearby parking lot. Two females with heavy gear (Large TV & Professional Studio Monitors) were turned away from easily accessing the cargo vehicle for tearing down the set up. The young Caucasian male with black glasses and black short hair would not let us use this exit way. The only individuals that were present at that time of the event were venue staff and others who were leaving the event. The two females had to go around a handicap ramp multiple times in order to leave from another door into the parking lot. This was very unprofessional and caused a major inconvenience. TEC Leirmert (Organization that was refused to use nearby exit) provided free software licensing to all guests that were attending the event along with helpful information. When I asked the young man if there were any superior agents on the floor he stated, "No!". I was very taken back by this response and disappointed by the young man's actions! Date: April 10th Event: Music Forward's All Access Fest Location: Hollywood Palladium

Yelp
I had such a delightful experience at this venue! The security guards, merch cashiers, and bartenders were all so sweet to my group and I as we navigated the VIP line and bought our merchandise. The stage itself isn't super large, which made for a more intimate experience with Rina Sawayama. I give this venue four stars because the performances were late and some of the audience members behind me sometimes remarked disrespectful statements (i.e. "We don't want the first act, we want Rina!"). There could have been a little more supervision over what was said at times.

Yelp
Despite the venue saying that they will not allow camping, people still camped. I arrived at 8:00 am and I was the 88th person in line. Thankfully they moved us into the parking lot because VIP line was hitting the GA line. Overall, staff was friendly and helpful. The venue was terrible because it's all GA and the floor was the same level so if you're near the back, I'm not sure what your view is. It might be worth it to spend a few extra bucks for VIP balcony where it's seated so you can arrive at any time before the show and not fight for spots on the floor. Shoutout to the staff though for handing water out because people started to faint before the show started. Despite the mayhem, I had a great time. They were very organize once the show ended to escort everyone without VIP out the door and then line us up for our meet and greet. Downside was people in the back started pushing when Woosung came to barricades and when they started to toss roses to the audience. Also people bringing in giant signs obstructed views. Speakers when they were playing music before the show started can be improved. The speakers started to make a really static noise. Thankfully that didn't happen when the show started. The Rose did a phenomenal job and really engaged with the audience and venue. It was one of the best shows I have been to and it is all thanks to the boys for giving their all on stage.

Yelp
Big open dance floor, good sound, good lights. The venue itself is honestly great. However, prices for alcohol are absurd, and no food available except for overpriced chips at the bar. More importantly, the bars refuse to give you free water. This is a safety hazard, considering this is a GA venue where it gets extremely hot in the crowd. I have witnessed many people get dehydrated and pass out in the crowd at venues that don't give out water. Keep in mind they host a lot of raves and punk/metal concerts where people are dancing and moshing. There's only two options. You can pay some insane amount for a small bottle of water (I think 6$ if I remember correctly) or they will tell you to use the water fountain. However, this water fountain is disgusting. Never clean, only sometimes works, water comes out warm and metallic & in the post-covid era I don't think we should have everyone sharing germs like that anyways. It's also kinda hidden and difficult to find. Not an adequate substitute for free water at the bar. If they truly don't wanna burden the bartenders with people asking for water, they can instead leave a water dispenser with disposable paper cups like I've seen other venues do. Much more sanitary. This would be a five star review if it wasn't for the water situation honestly. Charging 6$ to hydrate without a reasonable alternative is greedy and unsafe. Oh also, the VIP section is a joke, don't waste your money just get general admission instead. They have a balcony that's nearly identical for GA people. The balcony also has an outside patio area attached that most people don't know about, so you can get some fresh air or smoke during the show.
