"The site of a recent star induction ceremony attended by friends and fellow celebrities; the honoree departed the event amid warm embraces and celebratory moments. His son later shared a tattoo replicating the newly awarded star, and staff from the honoree’s Las Vegas restaurant even baked a cake modeled after the monument as a tribute." - Greg Morabito

Google
Absolutely awesome. My daughter and I have, over a couple years of visits, taken about 4-6 hours in, one day each visit to try and get EVERY STAR ON THE WALK. Amazingly if we haven't gotten them all, we are less than 25 from getting them all. Nothing one more visit will MORE than complete with less than an hours walk. But WOW what fun it has been collecting them. And what history there is. Rather walking down memory lane with all the Names you forgot or barely knew from times past to current loves, you will find them all here. And the people you see and/ or meet are incredible. Some are friendly others obscure. Some are only there for the money selling all kinds of random things. Others are there for the love of the place, the flair, the style, and the strange, obscure and sometimes downright bizarre.

Google
Loved it. Don't eat off of the food vendors because they are all illegally working with no license or health requirements. The walk was very entertaining with lots of shopping and interesting people.

If you love history, this is a place you've got to see. That's a gen.Xer.I loved finding people from my past that no one today is probably heard of. It's california, so of course, it's dirty cover and grime, and you'll definitely be hit up by beggars. But you'll get that going to McDonald's in California. So yeah enjoy this.

Hollywood Walk of Fame, Los Angeles – Rating: 5/5 Visited: August 2024 (Morning) Visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the morning was a great decision—it was less crowded, cooler, and perfect for walking around comfortably. The atmosphere was calm, yet still full of that classic Hollywood charm. Seeing the famous stars embedded in the sidewalk, honoring legendary actors, musicians, directors, and entertainers, felt like stepping into a piece of pop culture history. We strolled along Hollywood Boulevard, spotting names we recognized and taking photos by our favorites. The streets were clean and easy to navigate, and we enjoyed checking out nearby landmarks like the TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre while everything was still waking up for the day. Street performers and vendors were just setting up, so the experience felt authentic and relaxed without the usual crowd hustle. The combination of early sunlight, iconic surroundings, and the quiet hum of the city made it a memorable visit. Whether you're into movies, music, or just the energy of Hollywood, the Walk of Fame is a must-see, and visiting in the morning makes it all the more enjoyable. A perfect start to exploring Los Angeles.

Google
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is actually pretty cool. It’s fun spotting the names you know, and there’s a good buzz in the air. Yeah, it’s a bit chaotic, but that’s part of the charm. Definitely worth a walk. Got to see some of my favs stars and was surprised by many others!

Tommy Park

Google
5 stars only because it’s so iconic. Otherwise exactly what you’d expect, a whole lot of tourists and a whole lot of people trying to make money off the tourists. Lots of big name stars engraved on the stars on the ground. Don’t forget Muhammad Ali’s star which happens to be the only star that’s not on the ground so it’s pretty hard to miss. You can pass the iconic Chinese TCL theatre as well while getting absorbed by the sheer number of names you recognize on those famed stars on the sidewalks. Lots of touristy scams so watch out.

Elliot MacDonald

Google
It was my greatest pleasure to walk across this famous street! The incredible crowds combined with the countless homeless, complimented with the smell of drugs, greatly enhanced my experience of viewing the fabled stars. I was so enthralled by the number of priceless $5 goods that were shoved in my face, that my attention was taken away from the beautiful stars on the pavement. To really make the experience memorable, be sure to find the guy throwing free CDs at you. He has some very deep words to say about his life in this city he calls home.

Jennifer Hargrove

Google
Very crowed and lots of traffic but found cheap 20$ parking for the whole day on Hollywood and vine. Had a great time shopping and being a tourist with my kids. Walked several miles by the end of the 4 hours we were there.

Yelp
We live in the City so we are often here for dinner or plays. We don't pay much attention to the Walk of Fame, but we used to and you will love it. Yes, it is crowded and yes there are some drunks around and yes your wallet is in your front pocket, but they have a good police presence and you will be fine. Start your walk at the Chinese Theater. Park in the Highland lot, for a fee, and get something to eat there that will at least give a few cents of validation. Now walk. Don't go past the Pantages Theater. It gets really creepy past there. Besides you just did a long walk and you saw all the stars you need to see. Most are right in front of the Chinese Theater anyway, but it is a fun walk with lots of food, from junk to fine dinning and tons of places to buy tee shirts you will never wear. Once you get to the Pantages cross the street and do the other half. Take your photos and be a tourist, we locals don't mind at all. Eat more junk food, buy more gifts and just have fun. It is a good time. And it is also fine to walk at night, just not after 9 pm. It is a treat. Got to see it at least once.

Yelp
Tough to rate low b/c it's an icon and could be a gem, but the city has let it go for far too long. Crowded with cars, unhoused people and dirty -- not an ideal tourist spot. There's some good - history, decent food options. If you carefully get off the beaten path of the Walk, there's lots of hidden gems like Groundwork Coffee, The Waffle, Roscoe's, etc. We did a short Podcast on our site REAL LA about these kinds of places in LA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YQs87Hw3-o

Yelp
If you're visiting Los Angeles, you need to go to Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood Boulevard, an iconic landmark. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is famous for its almost 3000 five pointed terrazo and brass stars in the pavements along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard. The stars bears the name of actors, performers, singers, bands, directors, and others known in the entertainment industry. This area can be very busy as many tourists go this place and take pictures, and buy souvenir items from a lot of stores in the boulevard. You will also find people with costumes, or dressed as celebrities or hollywood characters offering you to take pictures with them for a tip. Check it out!

Yelp
Hollywood walk of fame is a MUST, and it's a tourist favorite. the walk of fame stretches several blocks, and in it are the stars of celebrities, artists and other people acknowledged. you will encounter live music, shops with souvenirs, iconic characters you can take pics with, etc. honestly, everyday must be a different experience with different activities. only downside is the homeless activity, which in this visit, January 2025, was very low. all throughout, i love the Walk of Fame and it is iconic to LA

Yelp
Lived near Hollywood almost my entire life and for some reason never visited the walk of fame. Finally decided to visit and was really disappointed. The streets smelled like urine, there was trash everywhere, large amounts of homeless people (tweaking/ peeing in public). There needs to be some serious cleaning/ maintenance here. I really hope something can be done about this, place has lots of potential. They do have lots of street vendor which is really cool, lots of talent and creativity. Lots of restaurants to visit and activities to do. Would honestly recommend if the place got cleaned up a bit.

Yelp
Long streets filled with celebrities names on stars. Some cracked streets are visibly seen. Looks dirty and abit like Las Vegas strip. This is nothing what you would think it would be. We walked for a long while to see names on the stars while people trying to hustle money out of tourists. Lots of worn out looking people and buildings.. some buildings looked abandoned and empty (boarded up). Doesn't look shiny and glamorous.... perhaps this is their NYC's time square... filled with tourists, homeless, druggies and people trying to make a dime. This experience isn't what we thought it would be like. Be careful of the people around you and hold onto your stuff carefully. I, certainly didn't feel safe walking these streets if I was alone. But on the other hand, it was exciting to see the names on the stars.
google avatar

Yelp
A thoroughly underwhelming walk with a lot of the pavement/stars cracked and more than a handful of homeless people sitting on the sidewalk. Most of the shops were pedaling cheap junk, sex stuff, bongs, or other drug related merchandise. Quite a few storefronts were boarded up and the restaurant options were so generically boring. Funko Hollywood was the only interesting retailer which had their own security out front keeping the crazies away from the store. There were a lot of hustlers trying to get quick money from tourists. A person dresses as Catwoman pawed at me and made physical contact which pissed me off. The encounter completely soured my mental attitude. As other reviews helpfully mention; ignore everyone, walk with a sense of purpose, and don't accept anything. With all due respect to the history of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this famous destination is pathetic.

Yelp
Some of the sights and scenes of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We walked for a while and saw so many stars. It's so cool to see. The streets were aligned with people selling items, performing....it reminded me of the Las Vegas strip a little. Definitely on the dirtier side. Not at all what you would assume this area looks like but it was fun to be a tourist.

Yelp
I don't know what I was expecting but this was such a disappointment after hearing about the Hollywood Walk of Fame my entire life. I started from one end and followed the walk of stars for about 20 minutes until I reached TCL Chinese Theatre. Along the way all I saw were run down buildings, souvenir shops, and homelessness. I thought there would be more investment to develop and maintain this street. I doubt most of the celebrities with a star would ever walk down this street unless it was for a promotional event.

Yelp
Stopped by on Wednesday, 11/27/24. Very touristy area and a must-go, to-do place for all (tourists and locals). Lots of vendors outside selling amazing food, snacks, items, etc. (please support!). There are tons and tons of restaurants, retail stores, and souvenir shops. Famous landmarks include: The TCL Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, Jimmy Kimmel Live, etc. Make sure to wear comfy shoes for walking.

Yelp
Going off a lot of the other reviews, other than walking around and seeing a couple of your favorite actors, actresses or musicians, there is not much else to do other than take a photo and avoid the hundreds of other people as well as the local oddballs that either try to sell you something you don't need, bury you for money, or just try to provoke for no reason. For the most part everything about walking around the area is very clean and you are able to see many stars within a few minutes! I for one didn't know there was a handful of people that I loved that had Stars and I took a photo of a few of them. I enjoyed walking around however after about 10 minutes in the ridiculous Heat and getting bumped into by more people than I cared for, I decided to call it quits and leave. Definitely something that you should swing by and look at if you are in Los Angeles but I would not base an entire trip out here just to see this.

Yelp
It's a tourist thing but I always enjoy these stars. This my 3rd time visiting these stars and I am always fascinated. This recent visit I found one of my favorite actors.

Yelp
It is fun to walk down Hollywood Blvd and try and find your favorite celebrity on these stars. These terrazzo five-point stars that make up the Hollywood Walk of Fame are embedded in 15 blocks of sidewalk on Hollywood Blvd and on 3 blocks of sidewalk over on Vine St. Each star honors celebrities that have made an impact in the entertainment industry. This includes actors, musicians, producers, directors and theater. Right now there are just under 3000 of these stars. I will occasionally catch a Walk of Fame ceremony on social media whenever a favorite celebrity of mine gets honored. You can find a map of all of the inductees and the location of their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame website. Director Stanley Kramer was the first celebrity to receive a permanent star on Hollywood Blvd in 1960. Gene Autry is the only person to be awarded stars in the five fields recognized by the Walk of Fame (film, television, radio, live performance and music).

Yelp
Oh Hollywood. Land of dreams and tweakers? This place is good for what you want to see. A remembrance of Hollywood history. The stars are on the sidewalk on a stretch of a few blocks. But you're too busy and rushed walking amongst many people to stop and look at them all. Vendors scatter all on the sides. Many selling sonoran hotdogs and Mexican fruit cups. You'll see a couple of characters. I spotted Mickey Mouse, Jesus and Chewbacca. A half dressed man selling MAGA hats. It's a mini Vegas with lights and the over stimulation of restaurants and some places being exhibits. I advise to NOT bring any pets. There are so many people walking, they can step on your dog. The sidewalks can be narrow. You'll see where they film Jimmy Kimmel, the Chinese theatre with all of the cemented footprints and hand prints. You'll also find shady characters and the run down dirtiness of it all. Groups of people hanging out just waiting for something...in our case, some guy standing in the corner with his group of friends threatened my husband to kill him- for absolutely no reason- That was fun...(not). You'll see tweakers dancing, sleeping, begging. Almost as if they are a part of the tour. Some security is scattered. But do watch your belongings. You are sometimes shoulder to shoulder and must be wary of pick pockets. The sidewalk is dirty, smells like pee. You see people spitting and poop on corners. A cinema beacon now sorely neglected and overran with crime and homelessness. I would also advise to not go at night, especially as a woman alone or child. It was good to see and cross off the list but never again. Sad to see what it's become.

Yelp
Touristy area for sure with a lot of foot traffic, too many people, and...organic smells. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 4/10 It's a cool road of all the stars of the celebrities you all know and can look out for to find the person you are looking for. There are tons of people walking around here all the time as it is a main attraction. It was okay, I was not wowed. Overall, the walkways were kind of disgusting, full of human poop and pee and accompanied by the organic smells to boot. Very dirty and I was not thrilled. VALUE: 9/10 It's free. PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 1/10 I'm not going back here.

Yelp
Although we didn't care much for the "stars" we couldn't pass up the opportunity to check this off the to-do list during our visit. It was a short ride from our hotel in Burbank. We arrived around 5:30 pm on a Monday and it was pretty empty. Lots of metered street parking on Hollywood Blvd and the side streets. During our drive to the Walk of Fame...we immediately noticed lots of homeless tents set up to the far east along Hollywood Blvd. The homeless were definitely present during our visit, but being from NYC and accustomed that type of environment, I was never worried. I never felt unsafe at any point...though in our few block walk we did NOT notice any police. I would expect there to be more of a presence in such a tourist-dense location...then again Monday early evening may not be a peak time and justify them being on patrol there. Just be sure to be aware of your immiedate surroundings. I cannot speak to the condition (homeless/cleanliness) on the west end of the Walk. We parked and walked a few blocks. Noticed a few stars but never cared to venture further. I would expect those really into the Hollywood scene may choose to walk the entire stretch...about 15 blocks/a little over a mile long. You would see all, if not most, of the stars as well as some iconic Hollywood theaters.

Yelp
Basically you already know about this tourist attraction. It's in Hollywood of course obviously. The Hollywood Walk Of Fame is known for the literal stars. Goes on a long ways in each direction. You can see a lot of names and even some crazy stuff on the way. A good place to start is in the middle of it all. It's got seriously a shit ton of stars with names on these. The middle of this is basically at Hollywood and Vine. A Metro stop is located here. There's another one at Hollywood and Highland that's close to the Chinese Theatre. Has lots of bums hanging around. There's a pretty bad pee smell. Gets crowded. It's got a lot going on. There's especially crowds around the Theatre.
google avatar

Yelp
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a fun little activity you can do while walking around doing other things, seeing who you pass along the way. Whether you're a fan of music, film, television, and many other categories, you can find some stars on the Walk of Fame to interest you. The Walk of Fame holds over 2,500 star tiles, so if you're looking for a specific person you have a lot of searching to do over 15 blocks. Or you can just go online and find their location, as there is a map that is searchable and it will tell you the exact address of a certain star! Just look down as you're walking in the area and see whose star you may pass, you might find a few you want to stop and see.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Overrated. One and done, but worth checking out if you're from out of town. The Walk of Fame is not what you typically see on television. It's dirty and you can barely see the names on the star unless if you're actively trying to look. The only parts worth seeing is the area in front of the Chinese theater and it pretty much ends right at the corner of Madame Tussauds. You can cross the street at the Jimmy Kimmel building to see a few other recognizable stars. Definitely a tourist trip and a poop show on the weekends. Proceed with caution. Parking is not free, but we recommend parking at Ovation Hollywood. You can at least get some validation.

Yelp
We went to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to check out the stars with the famous names on the sidewalk. We lucked out and found street parking on one of the side streets right by the TCL Chinese Theater. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is over a mile long, but we didn't go far. We just stayed by the TLC Chinese Theater and went across the street to the Line Friends store. They also had many gift shops lining both sides of the street. There was this one store in particular that if you went inside and looked around you could take a pic with all the Oscar trophies outside. Mostly everything in the store was $5, so I got two keychains. Some of the stars located in that area are Orlando Bloom, Bruce Lee, Gwyneth Paltrow, Michael Strahan and Aretha Franklin. The street isn't well maintained. It's not the cleanest and many of the stars had cracks on them.
google avatar

Misti H.

Yelp
This was sooooo much fun! 3 miles of stars to walk around and discover! So much history and culture to experience and not to mention it was really fun to see the other people and who they were excited to find! The energy was fun and relaxed as families enjoyed walking and talking to others as photos and videos were taken. What an amazing day! Shops, restaurants, delis, food, bars and so much more to discover as well as you walk the 3 miles of stars. It truly doesn't feel like 3 miles because it goes so fast and there are so many different stars to see. It was amazing and something every generation in the family can enjoy.

Yelp
I will never for the life of me understand why Tina Turner's star is not on the main drag. It's over by what appears to be a now defunct entrance to Capitol Records. I get it. Private Dancer, one of Tina's popular solo studio albums, was released by Capitol Records in the 1980s after she signed with Capitol. To date, its considered her most most successful album. I grew up with Tina (earliest memories of her are when I was about age 5), and appreciate her deeply and dearly. But she is a one of the most important icons, and her shady, side road spot is not ample for her stature. Ah well... I like the concept and the diverse representation of the stars. And what I did not know until recently is that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce adds an average of two stars a month!

Yelp
Touristing in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California... I've been to this famous Landmark a few times now. Luckily, I've found free street parking nearby. It's fun to look at the Stars on the ground and make "discoveries". For example, we saw that Bruce Lee has a Star for his movie achievements, and that the Carpenters received a Star for their music career. Other Stars have been awarded for work in television, radio, performing arts, and "special" categories (Examples: Snow White, Pee-Wee Herman, Disneyland, Shrek, Mickey Mouse, and Kermitthe Frog). The Hollywood Walk Of Fame consists of 15 blocks on Hollywood Boulevard (both sides) and 3 blocks on Vine Street (both sides). Construction on 2-8-60 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce began with the following eight people: Olive Borden Ronald Colman Louise Fazenda Preston Foster Burt Lancaster Edward Sedgwick Ernest Torrence Joanne Woodward Note: Gene Autry has 5 Stars - the most that any one person earned! On 9-18-23, the 2763rd Star will be awarded to Director John Waters.

Yelp
Fun to walk and find stars you're interested in. Last time I was here was 20 years ago and we couldn't look up location of specific stars. Fun to watch my son experience it. Lots of cool shops to pop in to.

Yelp
Coming to this obligatory tourist hot spot just had to be done for my first time in LA if for no other reason that to see whose stars I could and tick it off the been there done that list. We started at a relatively peaceful intersection at Hollywood and Schrader Boulevards. Seeing the stars was fascinating to me. I saw Dolly Parton, Wonder Woman, Pee Wee Herman and Dr. Seuss to name a few. But as we got more toward the middle of the action, I was quickly over it. The homeless/ mentally ill line the streets, ppl trying to sell you this and that and the guys shoving flyers in your face for tours became overwhelming. Think Bourbon Street or the Las Vegas Strip as far as annoying vendors go. I think I made it as far as Manns Chinese Theater when my friend said, Do you want to cross over and do the other side?" And my response was, "Hell no!" Of course I recommend for any first timer but this is not an area I would spend a good amount of time at.

Yelp
I'll have to admit it's always fun walking around 'Hollywood Walk of Fame,' I've had plenty of pics I took from former iPhone, so I'll have to dig those out to post here. Whenever I visited 'Hollywood Walk of Fame,' I would always have to seek out the following Actors/Actresses and their recognition platforms~ 'Robert Downey Jr,' 'Sandra Bullock,' 'Keanu Reeves,' 'Jennifer Aniston,' 'Kate Winslet,' 'Leonardo DiCaprio,' and many more.... I'll seriously have to revive my former iPhone6SE for these pics. But, it's always super fun locating these Hollywood famed stars from, 'Hollywood Walk of Fame.'

Yelp
I feel like the Hollywood Walk of Fame gets a bad rap! Whenever people ask tourists what was the best and worst part of LA, they always say the Walk of Fame is the worst. Like whaaaaa?! It's not the cleanest, sure, but it has SO much to offer. Stop sleeping on it y'all and be more open minded! :P Or maybe I just love LA so much that I am in denial of its faults, lol. Entirely possible. Stretching 15 blocks of Hollywood Blvd (which has so many cool bars, restaurants, shops, shows and landmarks), it also goes three blocks onto Vine Street. Actually if you start at Hollywood & Gower, pass by the famous Hollywood & Vine and walk all the way down, you'll be at 1.4 miles so just under 3 miles round trip to do the full street. It's fun - even for locals - to walk around this area and look at the stars of their favorite celebrities. If you want to find someone specific, you can search here: https://walkoffame.com/browse-stars/. Tupac recently got his star and goodness does the area near his star get busy. It's as if its become a shrine for him, a makeshift memorial. And me personally, I'm fine with that. As many ways as we can remember this man, works for me. People are dancing, singing and selling shirts by his star - not sure how long that will last but it makes me happy. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has already announced the 2024 recipients of stars and some exciting people for me are my favorite actress Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong, Gal Gadot, Mario Lopez, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Eugene Levy, Toni Braxton, Brandy, Darius Rucker, Gwen Stefani, Dr. Dre (let's goooo), and Otis Redding. There's a bunch more but just a little taste of what's to come next year. If you ever want to attend a ceremony, they are just 30 minutes and free so it's a cool experience to pop into. I have not been to one yet, but am hoping to go to Michelle Yeoh's next year! Stanley Kramer was the first star in 1960 and now with over 2700 stars, there's many more to come! A must visit spot in LA, even for locals, just try to focus on the positive while there. Be one of the 10 million that visit each year! ;)

Yelp
One of the city's free attractions in LA, posing with a Hollywood "star" along Hollywood Blvd. is practically a rite of passage. After 30 years, I've returned with my partner to finally walk on the famous sidewalks on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard from Gower to La Brea and both sides of Vine Street from Yucca to Sunset, which is definitely nothing like we expected. Since 1960, this has been the place to honor celebrities in motion pictures, television, radio, live theater, and recording. We came here after visiting the Griffith Observatory one Saturday around noontime. We parked at the Ovation Mall for a flat rate of $20 and exited through the Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars are hosted, to Hollywood Blvd. It was crowded mostly because the wide sidewalk was taken up by street vendors. There were also merchants hawking "Hollywood tours" and people in costumes who would take a photo of you for a few dollars. Sadly, the whole area has suffered from degradation and is even more dangerous when it gets dark. The only highlight was Grauman's Chinese Theatre, where the signatures and handprints in cement were worth taking time to explore. It's worth a visit if you're a film buff or a fan of celebrity culture, but don't set your expectations too high. The real magic of Hollywood might be found in unexpected places beyond the star-studded sidewalk.

Yelp
A super fun and easy activity to do in Los Angeles. It was fun for the kids to spot names they knew and take pictures along the way. A few things to remember: -This is a "hot spot" so it's full of people, tourists, and scammers. -There are people that will ask if you want to take a picture with them and if you say yes, they will ask you for money. If you say no, they'll be jerks. Example: a guy dressed in a shoddy Spider-Man costume jumped out in front of us and said "Take a picture of me with your son!" And I said no, then he mumbled some rude remarks at me. -if you're visiting and need souvenirs, they don't get cheaper than this area

Yelp
Simple yet mesmerizing. The Walk of Fame's 2,600+ stars showcase Hollywood's rich legacy. Free, accessible, and constantly buzzing with energy. A must-visit LA attraction.

Yelp
It's an exciting adventure to surf around try the HWOF. It's very popular, super crowded, also very dirty and several street vendors. The starts spread across several blocks, would almost need couple hours to see all of them. Stars also don't have any orderly sequence, you might spend a lot of time looking for your favorite star's spot. It's also nice to experience the Hollywood boulevard. Lots of souvenir stores. The mall has balcony with perfect position of Hollywood sign in the background.
google avatar

Yelp
It's been a super long time since I last was in this area. Reminds me of the weather coast version of NY's Time Square. Your action figure characters for photos. Ppl selling their music CD's, lots of food and clothing vendors along the route. Though I didn't have time to look at all the stars, it's good to see some new ones that weren't there on my last trip.
google avatar

Ane V.

Yelp
This is one of the places I visited when I came for a vacay. It was fun, exciting and something to write home about. I get to take a picture of the stars with my fave people name on it. It was day time and the weather was cool. So we took our time and indulge ourselves with the shows/impersonations and enjoyed looking at the stores. We even took a picture with the Hollywood sign behind. I visited one more time and living already here. It was getting dark, what a difference. I agree with one of the Yelpers - keep your belongings close to you.

Yelp
So many shops! Busy busy busy! We unfortunately could not walk the entire 1.5 to check out every single star but we definitely stopped by some shops, ice cream shops and stopped to take a picture with Freddy Kruger & Captain America. I recommend checking it out during LA's regular school season so it's not too crowded :P Just be careful, they're kind of pushy about the "donation" lol

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is to Hollywood as Times Square is to Manhattan-a big tourist trap and people out to get your money. Just say no to everyone who approaches you and hold on tight to your belongings. There are many souvenir shops and tours offered in this area. We stopped here as part of our Hollywood tour with the Anaheim Tour company. They graciously took pictures of my husband and I in front of Walt Disney's star. One of the things you need to know about the walk of fame is that a celebrity may have more than one star on the walk of fame. The circular medallion in the center of the star tells you which achievement that person is being recognized for. It could be music, theater, TV, movies, or others. The walk of fame runs at least a mile down Hollywood Blvd and also some are on Vine St. I was literally blown away by some of the people and places listed. Houdini, Bugs Bunny, MIckey Mouse and even Disneyland have a star here! You'll find people like Monty Hall from "Let's make a deal", Paul McCartney, Anne Baxter, Lou Costello, Flo Ziegfield, Dick Van Dyke. The list goes on.... Looking for a specific celebrity? Use their search finder on the Walk of Fame website. Even then it gets to be tricky because they are not necessarily listed in alphabetical order. It is better to just search for that person by name. It seems that some of the classic celebrities are grouped in one area. Course there's a money making deal here too. You can create your own star on the walk of fame. Many people are literally walking over the stars since it is pavement and it does get fairly crowded in the afternoon. The walk of fame goes past the Chinese and Dolby theaters along with your off the street special viewing area of the Hollywood sign. See it if you are in the area but really don't spend a lot of time there. It pays to be careful. Located on Hollywood Blvd and Vine St.

Yelp
We had a good time on the Hollywood walk of fame, exploring, going up and down seeing all the sides take a picture of the names. It was very crowded on the left-hand side of the street or you're welcome. Well Grey is on the street. It wasn't his credit I'm not really sure what's up with that but overall good experience.

Yelp
I like the Walk of Fame between 6 - 8am -- before everyone is awake and before the tourists flock to Hollywood Blvd. One of my absolute favorite things to do is to run along the Walk of Fame. I think it's a nice piece of Los Angeles history -- I love seeing some of LA's icons along the way. What I don't like? The fact that almost anyone can get a star now. It's lost a little of its prestige, in my opinion. Whilst I don't like the afternoon crowds and the flogging of vendors, I do like seeing visitors looking at the stars for the first time, taking photos, etc. 2022: 117/100

Yelp
Pretty fun thing to do by strolling down the street and spotting some famous names there.

Yelp
I've worked most of my life in the entertainment industry and so know all about the Walk of Fame. If you have out of town visitors, they want to see this and the Hollywood Sign because they've seen both on TV. (They also want to see celebrities though those type of people don't exactly come on demand.) It makes me nervous to take them here. The city has done almost nothing to make Hollywood Boulevard representative of its reputation. The street is crowded, dirty and filled with homeless teens and beggers in cheap, dirty celebrity costumes. Plus parking is expensive. Stores have lots of chintzy chatzkeys if that's what your visitors want though I'd recommend heading to Universal City Walk instead because it offers a better image of the Hollywood they expect to see.

Yelp
These people are total scammers. We were told it was $5 and ended up charging us $20 PER kid! I wasn't going to give them more than $20, so I started arguing with them. My friend's son got afraid because this guy was so aggressive that he asked his mom to just pay him. I am a local and I find these people disgusting. What a disgrace to Angelenos and Latinos! I wish they would put more cop presence in this area so these people don't rip off and scare tourists.

Yelp
Since we were in the area, we decided to go walk on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on a Tuesday around 11:40am. There were also a lot of other people doing the same thing as us, which was to look and stare at the stars on the ground, so it was very crowded. This area also has some homeless people, character impersonators in costumes here trying to take a picture with you, and people trying to sell you their music. Anyways, while I was searching for stars on the ground, I noticed that some of them were more broken than other stars on the ground, but that might be because of the people walking around here. Another thing I noticed in this area is how you can buy a star on the ground too! I didn't try buying myself a star, but I did see a worker making a star and that was cool to see. I'd recommend this place since it is a cool thing to experience, but be aware of all the impersonators here since taking a picture with them isn't free. This street doesn't seem to be too safe of an area because of all the impersonators and since it is a touristy area.

Yelp
So we had a cool hotel in Thai town, about a mile or so from where the Walk of Fame begins. Thai town was relatively quiet, but that all changes when you approach the Walk of Fame. Massive crowds of people, shops, eateries.....etc. We walked up one side and down the other, trying to take in all the stars. Honestly, I missed most of the stars because you get pretty distracted with everything going on in this part of town. I'd find myself looking down and realizing, oh yeah, there's more stars. They seemed to go on forever. It was fun. Definitely a must-see for first-timers.

Yelp
Had a fun time walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame while on our mini vay-cay. There was lots to see on this boulevard. Stars with famous names lined both sides of sidewalks on this world famous blvd. The ever famous theater is also located on this blvd and its a must see. Its elegance and grandeur remind you if time gone by. If your looking for a souvenir of your visit you can visit one of the many stores they have along the blvd. If your hungry there's plenty of places to choose from for a quick and delicious meal. There are also some dine in restaurants too. Hollywood Boulevard is also lined with a ton of street performers and impersonators to take a picture with, just find your favorite one. This is a cool place to visit especially if you have kids with you. They will be entertained with the street performers and the many impersonators that are here that they can have a picture with them, just have your cash ready, because it's not free, lol. You might even see a superhero.

Yelp
It's not my favorite place to visit mostly because it's dirty, crowded, and smelly. But it is the place to come when in LA as it's a must for pics. Especially if you've never been here before. Be prepared for all the typical tourist traps like Ripley's, LA souvenir stores and stuff like that. Although there is a Line Store and MiniSo and that's highlight for me. The stars and hand/foot prints are fun to check out. Just wish this area was cleaner and with less people dressed in costumes trying to make money off you by taking pics with you. Not into taking a pic with someone dressed in a dirty Spiderman costume.

Yelp
finally made it to the Hollywood walk of fame and let me tell you it's quite the scene. I was super pumped to see all those famous stars but honestly, it wasn't exactly what I expected. The sidewalks were jampacked, and some of the stars were kind of hard to spot with all the traffic There were performers everywhere, which was cool, but also a bit overwhelming. Don't get me wrong. It was still a fun experience, but just be prepared for the hustle and bustle

Yelp
Writing this as an FYI since this was our first time here. Maybe it'll help someone. The stars line the sidewalks of lots of roads in Hollywood. I thought it was small and like a few blocks. Like an attraction. It's not. I planned time to see them but it's not necessary. They are everywhere.

Yelp
It was nice to walk around and see all the older starts and how far you walk and there are still stars going on the sidewalk. They are grouped sometimes like in front of out hotel the W Hollywood. It looks like they clean the stars every so often because they all looked to be in good shape. Lots of tourists and lots of bums

Yelp
Hollywood, with the Hollywood stars.... Different city, with a lot of diversity and culture from around the world. With variety of great entertainment, and restaurants, with plenty of historic places such as the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME, EGYPTIAN THEATER, MAGIC CASTLE, EL CAPITAN THEATER CAPITOL RECORDS, MUSSO & FRANK GRILL, and much more. HOLLYWOOD and its history is definitely the place to visit.
