The Cavatelli Project does one thing, and they do it extremely well - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The Cavatelli Project is a bi-monthly, Thursday-and-Friday pop-up at Holy Mountain Brewing's Phinney Ridge taproom that combines the rollie-pollies in question with flavors from the American South. And not only does it highlight a criminally underrepresented pasta shape, but it serves the best meal you’ll have inside a brewery. (Cover your ears, innocent cheeseburger.) The menu is short but tight—like a round of Olympic shot put, or “California Dreamin’”—and since cavatelli orders aren’t taken until 4pm, it’s best to pop in early with a group. That way, you can shoot the sh*t and grab a preliminary beer or glass of floral riesling before pouncing. Just know that The Cavatelli Project typically sells out within a couple of hours, so consider this a kind of early dinner you’ll need to plan your entire life around. It’s worth it. We don’t make the rules. Food Rundown Smoked Brisket Ragu Here’s a prime example of the Italian-Southern balance in action, and it plays to win. Smoky-but-not-too-smoky pulled beef is lovingly tempered by a briny little dollop of mustard seeds, and parmesan ties everything together. Get it. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Porchetta Ragu Our favorite of the bunch, this ragu combines silky braised pork with welcome brightness from mint. It’s only right to order the porchetta alongside the brisket. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Smokey Slow Greens We wish there was a bit more grated cheese to offset the greens’ pronounced smoke notes and turnip-y sweetness, but this is a dependable bowl of vegetarian pasta we’d demolish again when given the opportunity. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Lowcountry Chop Salad If only The Cavatelli Project’s chop salad were available by the paint bucket. Everyone in this little paper tray has a job to do—cubes of buttery gouda provide relief from salty shards of crisped ham, red peas soaked in mustardy dressing are satisfying, and every so often, a snipped herb shows up to keep things interesting. Good teamwork, gang. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo" - Aimee Rizzo

It became a challenge to visit the other location as parents. The new location is great for us to stop in as a family. We've raised our kids to tolerate more than just generic pop music, so the heavy music is a welcome change of pace from other family-friendly locations in the area. A while back, we visited with my brother-in-law who uses a wheelchair, the staff were awesome about making sure he had a spot at the table. As always, the beer is incredible and they offer a decent range of styles at all times. Merch is also consistently tempting for my wife and I!

Google
It is very clinical .. in a good way. It’s been designed with the neighborhood customers in mind , aka , families . So it is Very Clean and minimalistic .. almost too much, couple plants here and there would be a “warm” addition to this space . But overall it is a nice place that welcomes kids, well behave “on leash” dogs . They have a nice selection of beers on tap, I tried the seat one , with a special pour and a big head of creamy foam (on purpose) and it was delicious . Nice addition to the neighborhood

Google
Best Brewery in the PNW, and I don't put that lightly when there are places like Brujos, Fort George, Ravenna, and Single Hill out there. Great space in Phinney Ridge as well with good food nearby.

Google
Two stars for a few prior visits at the original location. Love the beer. Love the music and vibe. However yesterday the vibe here in Phinney Ridge was not cool. First there was no seltzer option for my wife. I'd simply write this off as a rare case of being caught off guard, but the looks the staff gave my wife is the reason for this review. She was wearing informal clothes. The staff literally looked her up and down with a snooty look on their faces, as if we don't belong here. Don't judge, because that can go both ways. TLDR: staff were snobs, clearly the Phinney Ridge vibe is rubbing off on Holy Mountain. Be yourselves, you've ignored the complaints about playing metal. I love that. But acting like your customers don't belong here?! That's not the Holy Mountain I know and it will 100% impact our future decisions to patronize

Google
Holy Mountain’s Phinney Ridge Taproom has a chill, unfussy vibe with great music and a rotating tap list that always delivers. But let’s be real - the beer is why you come. I consider myself a bit of a beer snob, and I can honestly say this is world-class stuff. Recently, I enjoyed Follow the Smoke and The Mariner, which were both incredible. Truly though, I’ve enjoyed every single drop of every Holy Mountain beer I’ve ever had. From crisp, nuanced lagers to complex saisons and deep, brooding stouts, every pour is balanced, intentional, and just plain excellent. And if beer’s not your thing? Try the Holy Water. Seriously, even the water is next-level. This place is the real deal.

Google
It’s a cool location with a cool label and stuff but if I am completely honest those weren’t my favorite beers around Seattle. But that is personal taste of course… And this was the first location here that did not offer flights… Half pours yes, but no flights… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good beers and ambiance but no tasting beer before ordering one. 👎🏼

Google
Fantastic service and incredible beer. Serves as a different experience than interbay but absolutely worth coming and seeing in it's own right. Really wonderful food options very close and fantastic views on the street nearby.

Yelp
Very nice place to have a couple of very well crafted beers. Clean aesthetic and a great atmosphere.

Yelp
I have always been a huge fan of Holy Mountain for over a decade now and recently noticed they opened up a new taproom. For a Monday night, this place was pretty packed and they had about 15 beers on tap and about 5 or 6 different beers to go. Service was pretty good and the place was super clean. It is next to a couple of other wine bars. Although they do not serve food, you can bring your own. They also sell clothing, lighters, etc. This new location is about 5 minute driving distance from Chuck's Hop Shop.

Yelp
Almost the same as the Elliott Ave location with lots of Holy Mountain branding and piped in music vibe. Seating for all size groups, accordion glass doors open to the west side of 7011 Greenwood Ave with lots of afternoon shade on these summer days. You have to rely on street parking and hope for parking karma Gods to smile on you. Start looking for parking as you go North and pass Red Mill Burgers as just another couple of blocks on the left. The location holds as many patrons as the original location, has a wall of taps, loads of merchandise and the chill atmosphere of Phinney Ridge. There's a few of my favorites places for food just 2-3 blocks either North or South. The beer has a cross section of many genres from Saison, sours, ales, stouts and of course some PNW IPAs. The Saison stands out as my favorite.

Yelp
Holy Mountain Brewing continues to be amazing and their Phinney Ridge taproom continues with the great quality of their beer. I have always loved their brewery merch t shirts and continously purchase them because they are so cool but also anticipate any issues with online orders to be a struggle and a slog to get it resolved as previous experience has generated. They don't call back with phone calls or emails so good luck with anything with that and hope that you live close in case you have to physically go to one of the locations to resolve your online order issues. The beer as good as ever! I had the La Vienna Especial which was a Mexican Lager at this taproom and simply loved it! The malty, caramel and dry flavor features are mastered to perfection like Holy Mountain does with anything they do. I love this particular beer and almost all of their beers which gives them five stars but expect a considerable effort to resolve online orders with merxh if there are any issues. Call, email, send messages on Facebook or Instagram or if need be physically arrive to make sure your online order is fulfilled if they are indeed in error!

Yelp
Finally got to go to Holy Mountain's new location. First off the beer, I went with the pale and the wit both were fantastic beers, what you'd expect. The location is still putting the finishing touches but I think the space will be a staple on Phinney.

Yelp
Heard the new location opened up recently and being back in town just for the night I had to make a stop. Beers are amazing as usual and really like the layout of the spot. I liked that the seating options aligned for sizes from a single person (bar seating or high tops) small group tables, and longer tables for medium sized groups. Beer tenders were very friendly and with each person deciding what they wanted. Can't wait to get back and visit again

Yelp
Co-worker recommended this place to meet. Got there early and had a great beer. This place "rocks" literally. Love the "you either like it or you don't" rock selection. JudasPriest etc. Fresh and Clean. Enjoyed meeting the owner and his stories. Rock On!!

Yelp
Beer was good but beer tenders made it very clear they were unhappy to be serving people. Crowd was great but so many restrictions - limits on pour sizes, angry diatribes about kids and dogs. Music super loud and angry making it very difficult to have a conversation on a busy Friday night. I guess each brewery creates their own vibe and that's their choice but the vibe created at Holy Mountain makes it clear they do not appreciate the neighborhood they've joined.

Yelp
Nice interior but super loud thrash metal playing all the time, and you can't get a taste of any of their beers. Unheard of in Seattle.! I tried this place three times and left very soon each time after arriving.

Yelp
I love this space to hang, do work, visit with friends, etc. I also think the beer selection is great (things other than IPAs) and all the bartender who work here are really awesome. I also appreciate the snack selection including hot pretzels(!!) My only other comment is that there was a 1-yr old kid's birthday party happening while we were there on a Saturday so the place was swamped with kids running around and strollers and that kind of made for a chaotic environment. Never encounter that when I go during the week though!

Yelp
Great beer; terrible music I want to love this place. Please change the soundtrack from "Suffering is a gift of the god at volume 11"

Yelp
Really love having them in the neighborhood. Ambiance is great and really a nice place to be. Would love to see them bring in more NA options/curious elixirs etc for those of us that don't drink...
