"Holy Smoques BBQ is a new family-owned joint where, unsurprisingly, they serve BBQ. Expect platters of smoked brisket, pulled pork, and St. Louis-style spare ribs alongside sandwiches and classic sides at this Little Village restaurant." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen

Brisket is always on point. Love the rib tips and sides are always great portions. This isn't one of those barbecue joints that gives you a spoonful of mac and cheese and charges you $7 for it. Also just found out today all the desserts are made in house. I bought the last two pieces of carrot cake which I can't remember when I tasted carrot cake so good. 10 out of 10 would digest again. Forgot to take pictures and everything has been eaten already.

Came here for lunch with my coworkers today and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the smoked sausage, fries and carrot cake and everything was so tasty! The real show stopper was the brisket my coworker let me try. It was so darn tender, it melted in your mouth. Chef Marco even let us try a piece of his chocolate ganache cake, and let me tell you, PERFECTION! Him and his son showed amazing hospitality and we are definitely going to make this a regular. Thank you for an amazing experience!

We ordered to have the rib tips and hot links and brisket delivered. First taste was nice and smoky and from there it just got better! Too busy eating to take pictures, go see it for yourself. We had visitors who wanted to try rib tips and these were meaty and tender and delicious!

Absolutely disgusting “brisket” made by this place, but they’ll charge you top dollar for it. Sadly the brisket was more fat than meat and looked like it was carved using a bread knife. Save your money and either learn to smoke meat yourself or look elsewhere for decent bbq. This isn’t it.

Just ordered the brisket and sausage plates. It was delicious, I talked to the worker, and they are new a month in so far. Let's support this awesome spot. Also, I work at the courthouse, so I'll update on new plates also. That carrot cake looked amazing. I'll try that next.

I ordered from Uber Eats, and it was the worse BBQ that I've ever had. I had the spare ribs, and the hot Links. Those were definitely not hot links. The spare ribs were not tasty, they were tatty. Some were overcooked. The fries were terrible, and the sauce was nasty.I definitely wasted my money. Never again.

Totally forgot to do this review weeeeeeeeks ago but the food was extremely delicious. The brisket was the right amount of fatty to lean. Omg those sauces were amazing. Service was top notch. I look forward to going here again.

Hello! The sandwiches were okay, the only two things I can criticize is the lemonade and the Mac and cheese. Place charges 13 dollars per sandwhich and a side. The plate would be perfect if the Mac and cheese were oven baked then I would feel like I am paying for a 13 dollar meal.

Yelp
In Chicago and search on Yelp lead us to Holy Smoques. Local neighborhood hole in the wall kind of place. I ordered a turkey sandwich and fresh cut fries. The Turkey was very good. Not dried out like a lot of bbq places seem to do. I don't do bbq sauce so the meat has got to be good on its own. The fries were good with some sort of seasoning on them. Husband got a pulled pork sandwich and Mac n cheese. The pulled pork was very good again not dry. He ate his with the sweet bbq. The Mac n cheese was also pretty good. If this were local I'd see us eating here again.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my experience. The menu is interesting. I tried a pork shoulder sandwich and my friend had a turkey sandwich. We had a sweet potato side and a potato salad side. The food was delicious, especially the house BBQ sauces and the sweet potato side. Service was quick and friendly- you order at the counter and they pickup after you. The prices are reasonable and the portions are just right! It's nice to have this option in the neighborhood!

Yelp
I saw this small green child lurking behind the counter. I wondered whether this thing was of the human race, but the owner Stacy reassured me of the thing's harmlessness. I ate the thing, and it was savory.

Yelp
We ordered the 'Gospel' platter for a family gathering and it was more than enough food for 6 adults & 2 kids. The jalapeño Mac n cheese has some fire to it 4/5 spice! All the meat was super tender, moist and fell off the bone! The homemade, baked to order, chocolate chip cookie were the total cherry on top! Definitely recommend and would come back for more of the BEST BBQ.

Yelp
Excellent BBQ! I had the brisket, rib tips, and links (don't judge). When I say great FLAVOR, I mean it. While the sauces were homemade and absolutely delicious, if you prefer no sauce at all, then the quality of the smoked meats speak for themselves. The sides were seasoned just right as well. Come on down to this new spot and enjoy great food, friendly service all wrapped in a local family owned business!

Yelp
St. Louis style BBQ joint with a lot of heart and soul. Being STL style, the meats are smoked with dry rub and sauce is on the side which is honestly what I prefer so you can really taste the meat. We got the brisket and spare ribs. Both were delicious. As you can see from the photos, that brisket juicy and the ribs too. Very kind people behind the counter who are proud of their food and can tell you how it's made, which sauce goes with what, when it came out of the smoker and such. Show them some love and check them out. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Holy Smoques BBQ, located at 2524 S. California. When I tell y'all every dish was on point believe me it was. But I recommend you make a visit and check them out yourself. You won't be disappointed. All smoke meats were great. The Brisket was tender with a nice bark. Beef ribs had plenty of bark and flavor. The tips and St. Louis ribs were tender and a honest smoke flavor. The pull pork was long and meaty. The smoke turkey had a nice pepper rub. And the links were juicy and lean. The baked beans with meat were flavorful, with a bit of sweetness. The collard greens were well seasoned and tender. The Mac and cheese were on point and not over cooked. Those yams were sweet with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon. That potato salad was light and diced to a proper size. The Cole slaw was not great like the potato salad. And the natural fries were great. And to top it off, I wash it down with a large orange Kool Aid drink. Now y'all did see a slice of pecan pie, cake and sweet potatoe pie. All are freshly baked, but I did have room for the desserts. Most definitely a must visit BBq joint with all the necessary sides. Go check them out. Pictured are the owners, chef Marco Chef Terrell and Christina Terrell.

Yelp
Really really good food! Waited for about 15 minutes for our food and it came out fresh! The place is new on the corner but it's worth every penny! Got a slice of caramel cake for dessert! I look forward to coming back and trying the pulled pork! I had the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese also the hot links with Mac and cheese.

Yelp
Service was awesome, feels like home and the BBQ is the absolute best in CHI!!! Recommend the Beans and Mac as sides and Beef Brisket and smoked turkey!
