I recently visited a coffee shop that left me with mixed impressions. The interior was incredibly nice welcoming, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, creating a perfect ambiance for both work and relaxation. The atmosphere alone makes it a spot worth visiting. However, I was disappointed with the chai latte. The taste was not up to par and definitely needs improvement. It lacked the balanced blend of spices and creaminess one would expect from a good chai latte. Overall, while the environment is fantastic, there's room for improvement when it comes to the chai latte. I'd still recommend stopping by for the ambiance, and hopefully, they'll refine their recipe soon.

Google
Holy Water Coffee is a wonderful coffee shop. The coffee is really good every single time I buy it. The baristas are very nice girls, very professional and proficient. I always enjoy my time in there!

Google
Loved the experience here and especially liked how they give your drink opened with a design of a heart. I had a mocha and it wasn't over the top sugary like everywhere else. It is nice they leave it up to you to decide how much sugar you want and they have brown sugar. I like it here highly recommend! 😇

Jose Torres

Google
I asked if they had a mocha which kind of through me off because that's usually a staple in coffee shops. The mocha was a strong 3/5 but I'll for sure be back to try other things I think the other items will be good. I like the look of the coffee bar it's a very clean look with some good equipment. Ngl though seems very uncomfortable specially being so close to the uni. Seats are mostly for aesthetic and not comfortability. So I wouldn't recommend studying or working here.

Google
Had the best afternoon at Holy Water coffee with a brown sugar latte made by Halo. Halo was kind, personable, and exceptional as a barista. Definitely going to come back often!

Google
This shop has a friendly but calming feeling that makes it a great place to chill and work while you sip your coffee. The coffee is genuinely excellent, very flavorful and not too sweet but not too bitter either. The pastry I got was delicious, it had the perfect texture and seemed very fresh. The baristas were all super nice and friendly, at worst a bit shy. They put a flower on my coffee, love them for that <3 I'll definitely be back here

Google
Oh wow, the coffee in this place is intense. Now I see why this place is called holy water, hahaha. Great pastries.

Google
Such a wonderful space. The latte I had was incredibly velvety and well balanced. Slightly sweet from the espresso with no bitterness. The cortado was juicy and yummy. The matcha is strong and earthy in a good way. Music is good, the area is clean, and the staff is very kind and hospitable. Would recommend!

Yelp
This cafe space is amazing for reading and writing. All of the coffee is made in the center of the cafe in a circular bar. The community is amazing- the last time I went, a customer paid for everyone for the entire hour, and it really made a frustrating day better! The staff is happy to explain anything on the menu. If not for the food, come to enjoy the gorgeous space!

Yelp
I was so excited to try Holy Water Coffee but was seriously let down. The interior is absolutely beautiful, but that was the only good thing about my visit. The baristas were not friendly at all, and my friends and I genuinely felt like they seemed judgmental. I didn't enjoy my Iced Vanilla Latte. There was barely any flavor to it; it seemed like I was just drinking a very watered down latte. My friends had similar comments about their drinks. I am sad to say that I don't plan to return.

Yelp
Atmosphere is absolutely immaculate. They had fresh flowers on some of the tables, which were so beautiful. Cold brew coffee was yummy. The pastries are delicious! Everything was very clean inside, including the restrooms. Cute outside seating area. It started to pick up around 8:00AM, so get there a hint early if you want a seat to work. Up-charge for oat milk was kind of high ($1.50) and drip coffee was $4. Otherwise prices are pretty comparable to other shops. Definitely would come get coffee here again! Such a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Holy Water is a great addition to the neighborhood with traditional espresso offerings. The menu is straightforward and simple - they don't have a bunch of flavoring options and stick to the basics, but if you're into something classic this is your spot. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because it's a bit overpriced and I think they could take better advantage of all the space inside! Still, I've had a great experience every time I've visited and it's a great place to work from your laptop! Parking is angled street parking and it's conveniently located in East Central SLC, very close to my apartment!

Kaylee T.

Yelp
Do not go here, 6oz of foam for 7$, never a filled up cup ever, coffee tastes burnt & nasty any local shop or chain is better, tried multiple times and always disappointing

Yelp
The space is cute and bright. The large windows up front let in plenty of natural light. There is some seating to do work or sit with a friend inside and out. The menu isn't overwhelming, which I appreciate. The cold brew was excellent. It's steeped for 24 hrs. You can get it in 2 sizes, 12 and 16 oz. The cookie was amazing. It's soft with a crunch around the edges. There are large chinch's of rich chocolate that compliment the brown butter and sea salt perfectly. It's the perfect sweet treat to balance out the bold flavor of the cold brew. Parking is limited and you have to back out into the road. It's on a corner, so there are often cars turning into the street in a speedy fashion. Be patient and you'll find a break in traffic to let you out. Definition check out this place.

Yelp
Rude/stuck up customer service Don't tell you what you're paying for and then are stuck up when you ask them about it also doubled charged me but I was they crazy one for asking about it :/ don't know if the baristas have changed in the last year but disappointed after seeing all the good reviews seems like it's going downhill the coffee was mediocre at best to top it off

Yelp
Loved the aesthetic in this coffee shop. Simplistic and the menu is small (which I personally enjoy, because I usually can never make up my mind on what I would like to order). Seating was plentiful, even for a Sunday morning. I ended up getting a 12oz vanilla latte with almond milk. Even though it was busy, I was impressed with the quick/efficient service. Coffee itself was okay (I think I would have enjoyed more if it was iced). In the end, I'd for sure go back to try more of their menu! Next time I am in Salt Lake, I'll have to try an iced matcha.

Yelp
I really loved my experience here! The two servers were welcoming and kind and made our drinks very quickly. I got a cold brew with their pumpkin syrup which is, of course, miles better than Starbucks. We also tried the cinnamon roll topped with pumpkin cream, and it was phenomenal. We didn't get toast, but they all looked great too. The inside is super clean and aesthetically pleasing while still having that local, small coffee shop vibe. Their menus are limited, but what they have they seem to do extremely well. I would highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
This is my new favorite spot for coffee. The ambiance here is top notch - from the morning sun shining through the windows in the morning, to the modern, chic choice of furniture, and the plants and flowers in every corner. The staff was quick to make suggestions when I explained it was my first visit and told me their vanilla syrup "slaps" if I wanted something on the sweeter side. I ordered a vanilla latte and can attest that their vanilla does indeed slap. It was delicious. I look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
This place really knows how to roast a bean!!! Love the vibe of this place, I'm a huge stan of the staff, always treated to a nice smile and warm cup of Joe.
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
The oat chai was just ok, they charge $1.50 more for oat which is a bit pricey. The interior is nice and could be a good place to get work done, the music wasn't incredibly loud like the other reviews mentioned so at least they fixed that!
google avatar

Sandy L.

Yelp
Such a cute space & great for just hanging out with friends! Baked goods were okay, but the lattes are so good. Simple menu, great coffee... What else do you need?

Odyssey C.

Yelp
Cute place! Cute and simple. I liked that it was clean and spacious. Service was friendly and informative. Plenty of parking street and lot. Outlets were limited. I only rank this place what I did because nothing stood out to me unfortunately. The coffee was okay. Menu selection was okay. I had heard about this spot and was excited to try it. I wasn't too impressed given the hype :/ The potential is there!

Bailey B.

Yelp
Great space to work in or to catch up with a friend. Coffee was great and fairly priced. Good variety of bites too. Staff was helpful and kind.

Mackenzie P.

Yelp
i typically come here for the coffee but today i was feeling RAVENOUS and got the toast! Simon made it for me and it slayed the house down boots mkgee. i loved the atmosphere and all the workers are so hot. can't wait to keep coming back and befriend all of them.

Amanda f.

Yelp
Brilliant across the board. The tea service was so amazing! The pumpkin spice cookie was outstanding'. My daughter got the vanilla latte - a staple for her- was delicious and perfect.

Yelp
Delicious and balance coffee. Friendly staffs. Clean, modern and cozy environment 10/10

Yelp
I've only had the cold brew so far but that is what I use to gauge the quality of coffee spots. This one is an A+. Their menu is small but it seems to be because they do everything incredibly well. The interior is also very nice and a calm place to work. Giving 4/5 because while the inside is chill, there are very few spots to sit. If you want a nice spot to work, you've gotta be pretty lucky and hope one is available.

Yelp
this opened up down the street and i had to try it!! i got the iced chai tea and the vegan peach cookie sandwich. they were both VERY sweet, so i'd definitely order a dark coffee if i got a pastry again to balance it out. they use boxed chai, so i wouldn't expect something very traditional. the cookies on the cookie sandwich were so buttery and it honestly was hard to tell they were vegan! i also loved the peach flavor. the only thing i would change is to make the cream filling less sweet, as it is just sooo sweet. it looks super cute, it's very modern. i love the little flower vases they have in each table. i also love the fact that their wifi password is easily found on their menu sign haha. they have both outdoor and indoor seating! the service was good! they were very friendly. overall, i'd probably visit again just to study there!

Yelp
The ambiance in this coffee shop was so comfy. One of those coffee shops that made me wish that I was a student in the area, I could see myself coming and studying here. I love modern looking coffee shops too! I got a cold brew coffee with oatmilk and their house made vanilla syrup and that was my mistake cause I don't like cold brew and I knew this going in. I usually get lattes wherever i go but i wanted to be adventurous and thought maybe i would cold brew all of sudden? So i didn't like it BUT my family all tried it and loved it. My mom doesn't like coffee but she thought it tasted very good. My brother is really into cold brew and he was in love with it. He said he could taste the nuttiness of the cold brew and said it had the perfect after taste to it. And when his girlfriend tried it she was able to vividly taste the house made syrup in it even though I didn't mention anything about it. So it was obviously a very good drink haha plus the guy who rang me up was very nice and they were very fast.
google avatar

Natalia P.

Yelp
VERY unfortunate cold brew. They have homemade vanilla and almond milk which seems like a cool idea but my drink was NOT a good flavor. It tasted extremely watered down and not like coffee at all.

Katrina M.

Yelp
The flavor of the lattes are horrible. I tried this place so you don't have to. A waste of money. However the do have pie fight hand pies that are good. Do not waste ur time and $ for this coffee tho.
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
Super aesthetic spot, they clearly put effort into the design which I can appreciate. It's still early days for this establishment so I'm eager to see them grow and evolve. The menu is very simple, would love to see some more interesting drinks - the only syrups are vanilla and dark chocolate. Also would like to see a more interesting pastry/bites selection - they only had a single type of pastry. All that being said, prices are a bit too steep given the simplicity of the drinks and that we're in SLC...

Kate F.

Yelp
Nice, clean atmosphere but underwhelming. Staff was decent but lacking friendliness. More of the hipster vibe than quaint.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way to work to get a latte. I ordered an iced oat milk latte without any other flavoring. It was a 12oz latte and cost $6.50. It was an okay latte, nothing super amazing. I would not order it again because of the price and the size. The inside of the shop is cute but the coffee overall was disappointing.

Katie W.

Yelp
Overall it was Good coffee. They have kind staff. Nothing spectacular but a very solid choice!

Vanessa F.

Yelp
the name caught my eye so I stopped before leaving town. Service was so so. I believe I got a breakfast bar ( don't remember the name). all I could taste was the burn
google avatar

Lori N.

Yelp
Very average. I was hoping to be wowed, but was very underwhelmed with coffee, pastry and service. The space was inviting, but I doubt I'll return. Glad I tried it! Clever name.

Whitney V.

Yelp
Have you ever been to a really busy bar on a Saturday night where the bartender can't hear you and you can't hear them and so it's really hard to order a drink? Have you ever wanted that experience while ordering coffee in an empty coffee shop at 10:45 am on a Thursday? Look no further! Their music is so loud you have to repeat yourself several times and hope they heard you correctly. We ordered a chai and it was really good! The drip coffee was a bit more disappointing since it was burnt and bitter. It would be a 5 star place if they ever lowered their music to a tolerable volume and had better drip coffee. The music makes me think they don't want anyone staying there like a normal coffee shop, and sitting outside on a busy street next to construction is only slightly better noise wise. Would not recommend if you need to get any work done at all unless you have REALLY GOOD noise cancelling headphones.

Claire M.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, really lovely ambiance and great people. This is a coffee snobs coffee shop and the aesthetics are on point. They make their own almond milk in house and it is well worth the slight upcharge.
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and I go here every so often and I've liked the coffee every time. The espresso is very flavorful
google avatar

Dylan P.

Yelp
Downright sinister in here. Pricing is reasonable, drinks are decent. Our barista was helpful.

Tauvi F.

Yelp
Rly cool atmosphere, nice indoor and a couple seats outside- rly pretentious baristas, I did not feel welcomed in the slightest. And my matcha wasn't whisked like, at all- just clumps.
google avatar

Ramona F.

Yelp
My best friend and I hit this location before we had to fly back to LA... we really appreciated our visit here. Don't forget to stop by!

Ari S.

Yelp
I always try to hit multiple coffee shops on my visits to the various cities I've been to. Visiting Salt lake for the UFC fight, this is really one of the best ones, for sure in Salt Lake. They make a pour over coffee which usually signifies a place that has knowledge beyond the regular drip coffees crap places like Starbucks sell. The customer service is superb, they actually bring it to you at your table. The ambience is well thought out, and they have a real good vibe. Plenty of good seating inside and outside. A real gem I highly recommend.

Samuel H.

Yelp
Got a drip coffee and to be honest, the batch brew is a little mid to be charging 5 dollars for a 12 ounce. Overpriced coffee for sure. You're paying for the deco. The music is loud. It's nice music, but the ceilings are high and the walls are stone so it echoes like a warehouse. Everyone has to use their outside voices to be heard so don't expect to be able to appreciate the music. Needless to say, not for homework or working. ANC headphones won't do much. The baristas are still fresh enough to be chipper and it's clear they're not overworked. I hope it can stay that way because interacting with them was genuinely enjoyable. I know for certain there's at least one barista putting genuine effort into making good coffee so I'm excited to watch this shop mature.

Spenser O.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way to work this morning. Interior of the store was stunning! Beautiful marble counter and lots of space. Cold brew was fantastic and had a nice chat with the barista Wyatt about the Olympia coffee they use. Overall great spot and can't wait to come by on the weekend when I have time to stay a while!
google avatar

Sydney A.

Yelp
A really wanted to like this place. It's next to campus and has great ambiance for studying. However, 7.75 for a 16oz vanilla latte with oat milk is absurd. The menu is very limited and they only have two milk options, whole milk or oat milk (which is $1.50). The coffee was mid at best. As someone from a coffee heavy state I tend to be more picky with my coffee, but even my friend didn't like it. I was very disappointed by the coffee and the prices. I wouldn't recommend holy water coffee.
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
Best coffee I've ever had (and I know craft coffee)! You can tell just by looking at the bar and their machines - high quality all around. Great ambiance and comfy seating! New favorite for sure. Also the name is hilarious considering it's in SLC.

No C.

Yelp
I've been excitedly awaiting the opening of this new neighborhood coffee shop. I've gone twice, and do not plan to go back. Both times the drink I ordered, even when I requested it to be hot, was lukewarm. The hipster staff are unfriendly and seemed inconvenienced by my ordering a drink or she couldn't hear me. I understanding they are a new business, working out the kinks, which is why I went back hoping for better. I hope they work their kinks out, the space is gorgeous.

Monterey L.

Yelp
Truly the best coffee shop in SLC. I love coffee and make it my personal mission to try every cafe in SLC/UT. This one is superior to them all. They use very high quality ingredients and can tell everything has been very thought out. I highly recommend their vanilla latte with one of their pastries. If you go on Sunday you can get the best cinnamon roll on this planet.

Sheena M.

Yelp
Holy Water has an elevated ambiance coupled with top-tier coffee--for all you aficionados. No detail in this coffee shop goes unattended. You can tell every decision is intentional--from the precise dialing of the brew each morning to the elegant arrangement of furniture. Most of the baristas are masters of their craft and the most passionate around. They've been recruited from the prided Three Pines on Main--under the same ownership. While the space is brand spanking new and expected to have some hiccups during its growth period, the commitment to exquisite coffee and a beautiful aesthetic for you to enjoy is REAL. Very pleased to have a spot like this in the SLC.
google avatar

Aurelia P.

Yelp
The interior environment was really nice. However, the drinks we got were super weak and the baristas were not very friendly.

Audrey N.

Yelp
Love it here! Will definitely be coming back. Their chai was amazing and had a unique flavor! Also loved their hand pies. The workers were very chill as well. Great study spot!

Nick N.

Yelp
Well this is it, the best coffee I've ever had. The vanilla cappuccino was amazing, not too sweet, and the pour over was smooth and full of flavor. If you're in the area, or remotely close I think this is worth a stop. It's a great place to get some work done, good atmosphere, great staff, and again the best coffee I've ever had.
