Watch: Korean Fried Chicken So Spicy, You’ll Cry | Eater

"Part of Toronto’s growing Korean food scene, this casual spot is noted for some of the city’s most memorable Korean fried chicken. The experience centers on the essentials—beer, crunchy daikon radish pickles, and plenty of napkins—while the sauceless chicken is recommended as the best test of their frying technique. From there the wings progress into sweet, saucy variations that build in heat with a deceptively subtle spice, making for a playful, spicy-tasting experience." - Eater Video

We used to go more often about a decade ago, but we just visited again today. The food is still good, and they must be doing something right if they are still around! We like their blazing fire chicken (hot plates) and their seaweed rice balls. The fried chicken was also solid. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Saturday during dinnertime, but it was easier, so perhaps it gets busier later at night.

Had a super chill late-night dinner here with a friend on New Year’s Eve. It wasn’t busy at all, which made the whole vibe really relaxed — plus they were playing K-pop in the background, which was such a fun touch. The server was super attentive and friendly without hovering, just really solid service. The food was amazing. We ordered the egg soup, oyster rice soup, and the prinkle chicken wings, and everything hit. The soups were warm and comforting, and the wings were perfectly seasoned and seriously addictive. Great spot for a cozy late dinner with good food, good music, and good vibes.

I ordered the 핫떡볶이 (Spicy Tteokbokki) and it was super spicy but very delicious! The texture of the rice cakes was nice and chewy, and the sauce had great flavour despite the heat. Perfect choice for spicy food lovers!

Our go to place when craving fried chicken. Unlike American fried chicken wings, Korean ones are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. As of July 2025, they are doing THU wings special, perfect for sampling the various flavours.

I'm here to celebrate a friend's belated birthday. It's been some time since my last visit. The cuisine was excellent, although some dishes were excessively spicy for my palate. However, the overall dining experience was positive, with commendable service despite a single server.

Home of Hot Taste, located at 5 Glen Cameron Rd #3B, Thornhil, specialises in Korean cuisine, and is particularly known for its late-night eats and Korean fried chicken. The menu is fairly extensive, offering everything from soups and stews to grilled dishes and combo platters. The dinner at Home of Hot Taste was an interesting experience. We ordered the spicy fried chicken and a few other small dishes to share. The chicken was crispy and flavourful. The spice level might be intense for some. Portion sizes were generous and the food came out relatively quickly. The restaurant was busy. Service was functional and staff seemed efficient. The dining area  has a casual vibe; not fancy, but good enough for a relaxed meal with friends. Overall, if you’re in the mood for bold Korean flavours and late-night comfort food, this spot delivers.  Please note that the Home of Hot Taste website notes that it "transforms from a Korean restaurant during the day to a lively pub at night".
