We had a party of 60 for my mom's 70th birthday, the host and other staff were wonderful. The waiters were great handling such a large party. The bill was reasonable included gratuity although an additional tip was left.

When arrive was seated by security due to being short staffed. Took another 15 minutes to be greeted by a waitress cool no big deal. She took our order never came back with the water I requested but again okay no big deal. However the pizza here is grossssssssssss !!!!!!! Watered down sauce, half done pizza, hard crust, not cheesy, and sausage smelled old. Food was Terrible !!!! Best part was the water with lemon. Beautiful location however with ample parking. Waitresses and security were nice !!!!

My first time at this location and I enjoyed my experience here. Linda was great! She was enthusiastic and worked hard to serve not only my table but every other table around us when it got crowded. I love her positive, energetic spirit! Plus, the food was delicious. I will be back!

If I can no stars I would I went there on Saturday spent over $500. It was my daughter birthday The server was rude. She never even brought us water out. Didn’t didn’t bring plates We never even got refills. I hunt her to even get napkins Then when I tell the manager, she tries to make excuses for the server and all she did was knock off $20 with an and had an attitude about it too, they want your money can’t respect people enough to give good service

The Pizza and salads were so good. This is definitely the place to go is you’re a Pizza lover. The waiter was really nice and the food came out really quick.

I loved this pizza for over 35 years but after 2021 and the remodel, the pizza no longer tastes the same, so disappointing. Home Run Inn was hands down my number one pizza place. The new building is nice but we want our old pizza back. I gave three stars out of respect for the glory days.

I did not like the service I received as I entered. I walked ahead of my disabled mother and brother to ensure as a table. There was no one in there the young lady said I had to wait for all the party was together before she could sit me. The place was empty. She said it was on a first-come first-serve basis. So if I'm there first that mean I was just been able to hit a table. They were not busy at all. The food was delicious nice and hot.

I grew up on this HRI but haven't sat in to eat here in years. From childhood, highschool to adulthood this was our family/friend location for any celebration/outing- from birthdays, promotions, anniversaries, dates, to just getting together for some pizza, hot wings and good times, HRI was that spot. If you came here in the 90's/early 2000's on a Thursday Friday or Saturday night it was packed! It was the "who's who" eating location and It's so nostalgic coming here. Their hot wings, their pizza (and that butter crust!) has always been spot on for me and when they added turkey sausage to their list of ingredients I fell in love all over again. Some say over the years it's been hit or miss for them, but I've never had a bad experience or pizza I didn't love and maybe it's partly because I've grown up on this pizza so it's just embedded in my DNA..lol! Service has always been great. Ordered this time a personal veggie and it was delish! I also love how they still cook all their pizzas to order so you will wait a bit but it's worth it when your pizza comes out piping hot, so fresh and so good. I also ordered a Georgia Peach and OMG please go see Regina when you're there because she makes them nice and STRONG! And it's only $10. Their drinks are very reasonable. They've changed the look of things tremendously. I don't recognize HRI anymore and that is a little sad. I wish they would have kept their original design and look, but I guess I should bunderstand how they would want to update their space to keep up with the times. It's beautiful downstairs with the windows that can open up in the summer abs give you that patio feel. . I didn't go upstairs to see how that area look now, but I'm sure it's just as nice as downstairs. They have an additional parking lot that added more parking which is nice. Price point still good. I guess you can say will always love me some 31st Home Runn Inn Pizza!

The pizza was burnt. I don't recommend the 1947 pizza (even though they said it was a favorite). The bartender ignored us the whole whole time. It took over 30 minutes, from when we asked for to-go boxes, for the server to give us the check. Poor service

Nothing like Home Runn Inn original location and food. Consist pizza and grrat customer service. Whenever im in Chicago i will always visit this location.

My rating is not a fair rating. I did not receive my food to share whether or not it was good. I had to cancel my order because after an hour it did not arrive. I am not sure if the delivery was from the restaurant or grub hub service. Hope the next time I try it is better.

I ordered and got the food delivered it was faster than originally expected....which was nice I was starving!!!! Expensive but what isn't nowadays!!!

Home Run Inn is my favorite frozen pizza and I had no idea it was actually a restaurant. My friend who lives in Chicago wanted to take me to the original location. Turns out it had been totally renovated in the past few years into a big, modern, building. The had the restaurant but also an attached to-go/carryout area. The carryout area was super busy. The restaurant side wasn't as busy. It did take us almost 10 minutes to be greeted and sat, even though there was no shortage of employees. But, our server who was also the bartender, was very prompt, attentive, and friendly. The French fry appetizer was delicious, they were battered fries and so crispy. For pizza, we chose a half 1847 (sausage, carmelized onions, and roasted mushrooms) and Laura's Favorite (plum tomatoes and spinach). Both were pretty good, but the roasted mushrooms were the best part for me. Drinks were ok. I chose a sangria swirl cuz it looked so good swirling in the machine, but definitely had that artificial sweet taste. It was pretty strong though.

This is the worst pizza I have ever tasted. It is no longer a neighborhood authentic homemade pizza. It seems-like from the crust and everything else is not authentic Chicago tavern style pizza. It tastes as bad as the frozen. Stop going to this place. They have obviously cut corners to save money.

I have ordered delivery and picked up. However, today was my first time actually dining in. We showed up at around 3 pm on Sunday and were seated within 15 minutes. We ordered a small pizza, fries, and tenders. Everything was great! I loved the decorations and the service was fast and attentive.

I ordered a pizza for my cousin who loves Home Run and hadn't been feeling well. I gave the wrong address and the "Dasher" never responded to texts or calls to change the delivery! So I called DoorDash and it was left to the restaurant to decide what to do...i can't thank the staff and manager George enough for resending another pizza to my dear cousin as I'm in another state and this gift made her week!!! Thank you all for the kindness shown! .... My cousin just informed me, " this was the best Home Run pizza I've ever had"! (Small mushroom and sausage.)

I really want to say that this has been my favorite HRI for the last 30 years until today. Why the heck did they make a really big mistake letting the computer take my order??? F'd up on my wings. I asked for wings with buffalo sauce and go boneless wings with sauce on the side. WTF??? So damn disappointed. I didn't check until on my way back to Schaumburg. So mad right now!!!!!!!!!!!!

The lemon pepper wings are superb! My only regret is we didn't get two orders for our party of four. Pizza is always top notch here! We went on a Sunday late afternoon and there was no wait. Perfect timing because the line was out the door once we finished dining. We drove from the far west suburbs to eat here passing at least 3 other locations because the original on 31st is the best. Nicely remodeled, good service, AMAZING food.

Perfect pizza!!! But only at the 31st St. location. It took me right back to my childhood and I'm 51. I actually forgot how good HRI pizza really is because I've been visiting the Evergreen location. I will only ever eat at this location.

We had a great time at this pizza spot. This is the original Home Run Inn, and it has recently been remodeled and looks fantastic. It was Sunday, so we came specifically for beer and pizza while watching football. We sat at the bar because there was a TV right in front of us, but there are tv's throughout the entire dining area. When we got there, it wasn't really that busy - there was no one at the bar at all. Our bartender was fantastic!!! He was so incredibly friendly, very attentive, helpful - I couldn't speak highly enough about him to do it justice. The other employees that we dealt with briefly were nice, too. The drinks were great - I had never had a different version of a Long Island, but this was really good. They don't have very many choices for beer, or even for liquor, but it is sufficient. Some of their mixed drinks are on tap, even. The food: We ordered the HRI cheesy garlic bread + bacon and also a a large pizza, split with toppings. Everything was SO GOOD!!!! Expectations exceeded here!

Best pizza spot in Chicago and no one can tell me otherwise. I tried Italian fiesta, beggars, etc you name it....nothing compares to Home Run Inn. Maybe it's just a west side thing. Overall love the pizza. I only go to this one. I would recommend I am a little biased but you have to give this place a try

This is the original location and the one where I grew up eating HRI pizza . My south side family still orders from here . Some of the yummiest thin crust Chicago pizza is turned out of their kitchen. Their crust is amazing, flaky buttery and i eat every bite on my plate. The Chicago standard - Italian sausage/cheese is the best, lots of ppl like green bell too and onion but i pass on that, my mom liked sausage peppers and onions . Chicago pizza in itself is the best in the US mostly because of the fresh Lake Michigan water in the crust . At this moment I'm eating one of your delicious FROZEN HRI pizzas because unfortunately i live on the left coast now . But the taste, nostalgia and every good memory in Cicero of my childhood is packed in this pizza . I highly recommend the storefront if your lucky enough or if unlucky like me, have to get your Chicago food frozen, you can't go wrong . Tip: bush a little more melted butter in the bottom of the pizza and it will keep those flakey layers of crust nice and flakey . Thanks for making this available to transplants . You can purchase at Safeway, Von's , Pavilion's & Sprouts in Southern California .

If your visit Chicago you have to come here'! The locals swear by it and this location is nicely updated and put together. The pasta was soo delicious. I didn't even add meat. And the portion was superb. The pizza was great too but a little expensive. Go with the pre-made pizzas you'll break the bank adding topping to pizza here

This was a good pizza that I eat from here. The homerun pizza on 31st St. is an excellent pizza establishment. When we were in the area I got a sausage and pepperoni pizza and I must say it was tasty. Overall good pizza pie that I do recommend

We simply love this place. I grew up not far from there and it was always a treat to be eating food from Home Run Inn. It is nice to know that even though the business has grown over the years, they haven't forgotten their roots. Customer Service is exceptional. We'll be back!

I ordered via the app and made a mistake by accidentally 4 pizza instead of 3. There's no way to edit or change your order and should you try to cancel you still get charged the full amount! It's I wonder they can donate to so MANY PRO Life causes!!! Bunch of thieves with no values. The Costello Family sucks and I'm voting pro choice now.

I came to the restaurant at 1 pm and there were no servers until 3 pm The XL Nicks super pizza was over cooked. The pizza was remade and that was partly overcooked. I am now very disappointed with this Home Run Inn - Beverly!!

Best pizza ever. The only pizza crust I ever eat . Judy, the manager, went above and beyond for us driving 1 hour to get there for lunch. What a great experience from what could have been. Pizza always incredible. A++++

O' My. There is no place like Home Run Inn. The frozen pizza does no justice. I'm happy as a tick on a cow!! I had the cheese burger pizza which had bacon, ground beef, onions and two types of cheese.. I had a salad to balance that pizza. It feel so good to dive into a hot pizza. So fresh, the tomatoes tasted so good. My server was attentive and did an excellent job ensuring everything was well. The makeover is amazing. I've been coming here since I was a child more than 40 years and I've never been disappointed, there's something special about this location. I appreciate this family for keeping this business alive and thriving.

Home Run Inn on 31st was such a fun experience. I went with a group and the building is modern with its own parking lot. The staff here are very friendly and try to accommodate you as much as possible. We had 3 of their pizzas which were good, along with the wings, garlic bread, and salad. We didn't finish everything, but had plenty of left overs. Definitely one of my favorite chain restaurants, and I love their frozen pizzas as well for a movie night.

I find it very cool that they have re-opened a restaurant on the site of the original place from nearly a century ago. My pizza was quite good - thin crust with lots of toppings.

Couldn't rate food or drinks, only service. Asked if the game was on a TV, was going to order a drink. Bartender was a complete jerk and said, "I don't know, we are closed." We sat at an adjoining gate and watched him serve others for 15 minutes. What a jerk. He was also eating behind the bar....so gross. But he truly should not be in customer service.

I had server Tiffany that greeted me with a welcome to the restaurant after I was seated by the host that introduced all the specials on the menu for the day. I added a garden salad with my order for $4.00 and really enjoyed it with Ranch dressing. The melt was so good from the first bite. Absolutely filled with flavor. The dine in atmosphere is absolutely great and you are in your own space while filled with the sounds of others around you while also able to watch the Chicago White Sox Game. If I could give the place 10 stars + I would. Absolutely a must place to dine in and eat for all. Thank you Tiffany and the Manager for being so attentive to every customer.

Home Run Inn Pizza knocked it out of the park on our first visit. It was a grand slam! I started buying their frozen pizzas for my family. My daughter wanted to visit the restaurant while we were in Chicago. I am so glad that we did. The pizzas and the Chicago Italian Beef sandwich were cooked to perfection. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we look forward to returning soon. The service was too notch and the restaurant was clean and spacious.

Yes! Yes! Yes! First time Home Run Inn restaurant experience after being dedicated to the frozen pizzas in Peoria for years. It was beyond my expectations! We ordered the 1947... outstanding! I also ordered a build your own pizza.. we opted for the butter crust, tomato creme sauce, roasted garlic, basil, artichokes and squash blend and cooked well. Sweet Jesus that was the best pizza I've ever had! Even reheated ..and I hate reheated pizza! Also ordered the HRI signature salad entree to go. HUGE! It was a beyond salad experience When the pizza arrived at our car it was super hot and super delicious. Probably the best pizza I've ever had. Looking forward to more restaurant experiences!!!

Our favorite pizza by far! Only one I buy! Every time I serve it to a friend they go out and buy them. The crust is the cast in the sauce is great!

Leaving Chicago and stopped by to grab a breakfast sandwich before my 7am flight. Order process was relatively easy. The problem I had was with service. The young lady working was RUDE. SLOW. seemed ANNOYED. The poor customer in front of me was treated so badly. To add to my bad experience your employee was actually serving Home Run Inn "coffee" however, drinking Duncan Donuts "coffee" while working. I have not yet eaten this breakfast sandwich I just purchased however, I assure you I will not be back. Home Run Inn Pizza @ Chicago Midway Airport

Not being from Chicago I've been interested in the Chicago style pizza. The stereotype is deep dish but Chi-Town pizza runs a spectrum, and I plan on gaining the ​first-hand experience. What I've learned so far is that there's a stereotype of Chicago pizza and there's real Chicago pizza. Talking to a gentleman in my building he told me about Home Run Inn. I've seen this brand sold in the grocery store but didn't know they had actual physical locations. I did some asking around and found that the most authentic and true to its roots were on 31st St (Southside stand up!). While I was there, I ran into three police officers, and we began talking. I told them about my hometown pizza style. They said that this Home Run Inn (on 31st) was better than any pizza Chicago even Pequod's that's touted a lot on TV. I went with the preselected pizza called the "Turkey Florentine" (turkey sausage, plum tomato, spinach and sautéed mushroom over a garlic butter crust). I also asked for extra pizza sauce. They do not cheat you on the toppings, and they really are high-quality ingredients. The tomatoes were so fresh, so beautiful and delicious! Initially, I thought the crust was a little bit too hard for me, but I love the buttery flavor. When I heated it up the next day - the crust was perfect and helped balance the middle crust that was a bit moister​ due to the extra pizza sauce. PRO TIP (from CPD): Always get the garlic crust. PRO TIP (from me): Due to the amount of ingredients etc. a Large pizza goes further than a similar size that is frozen etc. This place is so iconic that the street is actually named after the restaurant (Home Run Inn Ave). They have a lunch buffet that I can't wait to try, and I look forward to trying other pizza here in general. Next time, I will order a size down, their large goes a long, long way. This location is also being expanding and has tons of seating. If you sign up for their app - you get a small pizza for free on your birthday. My conclusion, Home Run Inn is a damn home run! Period.

Pizza is not good. They don't use fresh ingredients. I don't understand how it's a Chicago staple.

Food - 5 stars Customer Service - 2 stars My family has been coming here since I was a kid as this is the "original" location. I visited here on 1/27/19. Right when they opened, I walked in to place my order because I was on a particular timeline. Veronica took my pizza and salad order and told me it would be about 45 minutes before it would be ready. That's fine. I went to my car and waited. After 45 minutes passed, I went to pick up my order. Veronica put the pizza on the counter for me to check it. I couldn't believe when I opened the box - the order was wrong to which I let Veronica know. Veronica then proceeded to tell me that they prepared what I told her which in turn was really accusing me of placing a wrong order which wasn't nice or customer service friendly. I know what I told her and my order didn't reflect that. She informed me that they will have to make a new pizza which will take another 1/2 hour. I was very disappointed because I was on a time limit. I told them to make it but also asked to speak to a manager to which a person by the name of Norma came to talk to me. I explained the situation and asked what could be done to make the situation better. She in turn told me "Nothing". I wasn't offered even some basic water for the inconvenience or added wait time. Their prices are not cheap and I spent close to $50 to not have some type of recourse for the error. The pizza in turn was NOT ready in 30 minutes but another 45 minutes making the situation worse as I was late to my event that I was getting the pizza for. I called another Home Run Inn to ask who the District Manager was and the manager of that location was very nice and gave me the information. I contacted the District Manager and talked to her assistant who took all of the information down and was very thorough. She told me she would get back to me and kept her word and it was timely as well. She informed me that she tried to get in contact with the individuals I dealt with but they were not in that particular day. She apologized for the experience and send a gift card for the inconvenience. I certainly hope that experience never happens to anyone else. Their pizza and strawberry pecan salad is still just as delicious. I will return as the original location to me is the best one as far as taste but hoping for a better experience the next time.

I can't even remember the last time I have eaten at this Home Run Inn location, and they have changed the look of restaurant on the outside like many other restaurants have done. I had dinner hear after the show, and of course you have to order the pizza which I get a personal pizza that 6 slices that is 8 inches, and even the look is different on the inside, so I don't know when they did it but it for sure doesn't look like how I remembered it looking. I wasn't even offered a refill on my Pepsi, until I was already done with my pizza and declined it. Ands there are quite a few tvs around the restaurant.

It just doesn't taste the same anymore. They changed the crust on the pizza. I mean it was ok but I recommended this spot and people weren't so fond

One of my favorite pizzas in the City of Chicago & in the world ( ...and ive been to 27 countries). The Chicagos Best pizza is amazing, loaded with sausage, pepperoni and bacon. Pizza is cooked perfectly and the golden crust is a plus. By far I would rate their pizzas top 5 in my list. The cheese fries with bacon is simply the perfect combo. Great place to just hang out, drink soke beers and watch sports games. Also a great place for a family outing or a date. Would I come back? YES. Customer service could be a little better as server did not check up on us as often, but then again could be because they were busy or short staffed. Nonetheless good experience. 5/5

Picked a pizza at the Berwyn location. Looked like canned mushrooms were used on our pizza, and the cheese was runny. Worst pizza I've had in a long time.

TERRIBLE!!!! My son went today to buy wings and was verbally attacked my their employee Sharon. He was shocked a stranger would attack him for no reason and the general manager John Vielaga was informed. Sharon should not be allowed to work in an establishment that is suppose to provide a safe and comfortable dining experience for families. We are definitely contacting corporate and demanding she be removed from attacking other customers! Be careful if you plan to visit this ests Chicago Pizza

Usually go to the Home Run Inn pizza in Darien but wanted to try their place in Cicero and found out that it was a HUGE mistake. We were seated at a high-top table in the bar area and the bartender told us he would be with us in a moment and instead waited another 10 minutes for him to return which never happened. Got tired of waiting for him so we asked to be seated in the dining room and then again waited another 10 minutes and no server even came to our table. We ended up walking out and will never ever go back.

Absolutely love the new dining room! Accommodated our party of 20 today! Pizza is still the best! Had a chicken jalapeño pizza with mozzarella and an Italian beef, mushroom & giadiniera pepper pizza! So awesome! HRI is one of the best thin crust pizzas in town!

$11.50 Lunch Buffet from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm is the draw. Neighborhood place. Food is better on this visit compared to last year. CHEESE and GARLIC BREAD was perfectly toasted. Good CHILI gets too spicy. CHEESE BREAD was crunchy and too dry. Tasty RICE PUDDING had a mixture of half-cooked rice. My favorite AMBROSIA SALAD is here. ;) Thin crust PIZZA is a okay. Edible.

When I grew up on the southwest side this was our first ever pizza place, when they were still a small place - best sausage, buttery crust and loads of mozarella! Perhaps that was before delivery existed but I remember my Dad driving us there to pick it up and he taught me just how to hold the box on my lap so as not to have the pizza slide around. :) I think that since they've expanded to frozen something is not quite right to me, I don't like perfectly formed sausage pieces - even though their frozen is far superior than any others that still has buttery crust.

New to me, and is now one of my new favorite pizza spots. My friend recommended this pizza joint since it was the closest place that could satisfy picky friends that all wanted some thing different; pizza, pasta, and wings. (What a combination, Ik!) We ordered a large half and half pepperoni/sausage pizza, barbecue wings, and a bowl of pasta. The pizza fed 4 hungry teenagers that had a crunchy thin crust with just the right amount of sauce.The pasta was just for me and was really filling. It had a great balance of chicken and pasta that ended up being taken home with me since they gave so much. Definitely got my money's worth. The barbecue wings looked good, but I sadly didn't get a chance to try one since my friends devoured them as soon as they landed on the table. I'm guessing for next time I'll have to try them for myself and let the pasta live to see another day. The place is a cozy and family friendly place to eat. The service was great. The waiter was very helpful and always checked up on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and our drinks were full. Would definitely eat here again! (Soo....how are the wings?)

Sorry Chicago but this pizza was undercooked and made me sick. Frankly it was also overpriced and not worth the visit.

I give them No STARS!!!! On a time of insecurities this was the worse experience ever. I was excited to tryout this particular Homeruninn pizza. Since we had bought a frozen HRI pizza and it was awesome. I strayed from my original near me pizza place. I ordered it and paid for delivery on line at 5: 45 Got email confirmation, with pizza tracker. The time allotted to be delivered was between 6:45 to 7pm The tracker never advances from preparing status. We waited until 7 Thinking yes it's Friday they may be busy. I called and Waited on the phone for a representative for 13 min. Just be put on hold for 5 more min. The representative said my pizza and hot wings were on the counter and that they never had a delivery man called from DoorDash to pick it up. 20 minutes later I called again, this time I asked for a manager. She was uncaring, and as a matter of factly. The option she gave me was come pick it up and get a discount. The other your pizza will be delivered but I don't know when. We are trying to deliver ourselves and that was it. The pizza arrived at 8:30 it was almost cold. The chicken wings were cold. We ate some because we were hungry. This was the worse pizza ever. Never ever will never order from here again $58.23 trashed. not even an apology or a discount or cupón nothing. If you order from on line go through DoorDash. ( I didn't know this company has to call for 3rd party delivery) ruined dinner.

A style unto itself and one of the finer pies in the city of Chicago. A Pilsen location would be much, much appreciated. There's an open space on 18th with a large exposed brick wall. Would make matching the aesthetic of the Lakeview location easy. Just sayin'. In the meantime, the 31st Street spot, in all its atavistic glory, will have to do. Bacon, black olive and garlic.

Home Run Inn has been around for along time and still going strong, The service is so so depending on the individual, pizza is still excellent, no matter what kind.

My family and I ate there Today for Mothers day, and we had a nice time. It wasn't crowded at all. Our waitress was extremely nice. I tried the mai tai drink for the 1st time, really good. Food was delivered HOT, and was delicious. 31st is our favorite spot.
