K-Team BBQ Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"K-Team BBQ is useful because it’s a Goldilocks Korean barbecue restaurant: not quite a smoke-filled party full of soju and cheap bulgogi, not quite a full-on meat temple parading around high-end ribeyes, but something perfectly in between. This casual, pork-centric Ktown spot from the Park’s BBQ team delivers the energy its iconic sibling sometimes lacks, plus you can order a la carte without blowing out your budget (i.e., spending $100+ per person). photo credit: Kim Fox photo credit: Kim Fox photo credit: Kim Fox photo credit: Kim Fox photo credit: Kim Fox Most a la carte meat options here float around half the price of their higher-end equivalent at Park’s, but the larger difference between these two siblings is the ordering experience. Park’s menu can be overwhelming for a first-timer, whereas K-Team offers just three cuts of beef, five pork options, and a handful of soups and rice dishes. Focus on the various cuts of piggy if it’s your first go-around. There’s marbled pork jowl that chars up beautifully, thin slices of frozen pork belly that render tiny pools of delicious fat, and thicker pork belly that’s great for building ssam with sweet perilla leaf, raw garlic, and spicy soybean paste. There is admittedly a lot of bacon going on, even for a pork enthusiast, so a side of their refreshingly cold, spicy acorn noodles comes in handy halfway through the hearty meal. Remember K-Team when you want to go “out-out” without feeling like you’ve stumbled into a college bar blasting trap hits. Orange tile tables add a splash of color, vintage posters line the brick walls, and the soundtrack is loud enough to set the tone but not force you to shout across the table. Food Rundown photo credit: Kim Fox Ssam Orders of meat come with K-Team’s bountiful ssam platter, which might be our favorite thing about eating here. You get perilla leaves, lettuce, rice paper, a zippy scallion salad, and a handful of little bowls with sliced chiles, crunchy pickles, raw garlic, and various salty and spicy sauces to dress up your grilled piggy as desired. Refills do cost $5, but they’re worth it. photo credit: Kim Fox Thin Frozen Pork Belly Words like “thin” and “frozen” don’t usually equate to delicious, but think again. These pork belly slices nearly melt on the grill and release lots of rendered fat that coats the kimchi and bean sprouts sizzling next to the meat. They need only a little dab of salt and pepper. photo credit: Kim Fox Pork Jowl Meat This cut is so fatty it looks white as a sheet once it’s cooked. But that thick layer of fat is soft and sweet and tastes even better when wrapped ssam-style with perilla leaf, ssamjang, and raw garlic. Spicy Acorn Noodles A pork-themed meal can be heavy, to say the least, so order this bowl of spicy chilled noodles to lighten things up. The salty-sweet broth feels like a cold towel across the forehead after dining in front of a hot grill, and it’s really not that spicy. More like a pleasant tickle at most. Kimchi Fried Rice The optional fried rice at the end of a meal here is the grand finale you don’t want to miss. Kimchi-stained rice is mixed with lots of shredded nori and spread thinly on the greasy cast iron skillet. And the best parts are the leftover meat bits and kimchi get crispy as the rice sizzles." - Sylvio Martins

We visited Home Team BBQ during commencement weekend, so naturally, everywhere in the city had long wait times—up to an hour or more. We were a group of five and waited about 45 minutes for a table for lunch. The place was packed, but once seated, the service was impressively fast and efficient. I ordered a dozen Smoked Chicken Wings for my sons, knowing it’s one of their favorites—and it was definitely the right call. The wings disappeared quickly! I went with the Two-Meat Platter (pork and chopped brisket), which was delicious, though I did feel the meat was served a bit cold. Still, the flavors were great. Even my son who typically doesn’t eat much at restaurants cleaned his plate of Fried Ribs—he absolutely loved them. My wife ordered a large plate of tacos, and it was so big it was hard to finish! Another son had Brisket Tacos, which he also really enjoyed. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, a lively atmosphere, and quick service despite the crowd. For that reason, it’s a solid 5 stars from all of us!

I visited this restaurant recently for lunch with a group of about 10 people, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Despite being a large party, everything moved quickly and smoothly, which was a pleasant surprise. To start, we ordered tots and wings as appetizers. Both were absolutely delicious — the wings especially stood out, so much so that I ended up ordering another round just for myself as my main dish. They were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and just hit the spot. One of my friends ordered the ribs and couldn’t stop raving about how well-cooked and flavorful they were. Service was another highlight of our visit. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, managing our big group with ease and keeping a smile on the whole time. She made sure we had everything we needed without us having to ask more than once. The food came out quickly, which was impressive considering the size of our group. It was clear the kitchen was running efficiently and that the staff cared about keeping things moving. Price-wise, everything felt reasonable and well worth it. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food made it feel like a great value overall. One small note: the salsas labeled as “hot” were actually quite sweet and not spicy at all, which was a bit of a letdown for those of us who enjoy some real heat. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I would definitely return and recommend this spot to others. Great food, friendly service, and a smooth experience — what more can you ask for?

We got the two meat combo platters. I opted for the brisket and 1/4 chicken (white meat) by recommendation and as promised the chicken wasn’t dry. The brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and pulled pork were standard. The fried Mac & Cheese was one of my favorites here, the jam which accompanied it was something I thoroughly enjoyed - wouldn’t know it was tomatillo unless you told me. Also, coming in from out of town I had to try the sweet tea - wasn’t disappointed. The server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and the food came out quick.

Home Team was alright. Now, let me preface this review by stating that I only patronized the bar, and as such, cannot comment on the BBQ or food. The ambiance of the restaurant was pretty cool, the problem being that they did not do a good job whatsoever of maintaining cleanliness at the bar. Half-empty bottles and glasses littered the bar area, when they could have been picked up and dumped out pretty easily. I ordered a seltzer, which wasn't necessarily bad, but I was never asked my preference for which flavor I preferred, which was kind of odd. All-in-all, my takeaway from Home Team was that the ambiance was very cool, but that they need to do a better job of managing the bar.

Ran across this place while walking around 5 Points and I'm so glad we did! The brisket and pork tacos were absolutely phenomenal—packed with smoky flavor and perfectly tender meat. The brisket sandwich was just as incredible, with juicy, flavorful brisket that melts in your mouth. The sides and desserts were just as memorable. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned—a true comfort food done right. And don’t even get me started on the banana pudding—it was rich, velvety, and the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. Service was great and I would definitely go again!

Google
The staff was super friendly and helpful, which made for a great experience. I really liked that they put a variety of sauces on the table so you can sample and find your favorite. I had the brisket ☺️absolutely 10/10! The earlier you come, the better. I arrived around 8:30–9:00 PM, and they were out of a few items, but I was still so satisfied with what I got. Definitely worth it!

Google
I went to Home Team BBQ in 5 points today, and I was not impressed with the smoked ribs . They we smoked to perfection but lacked seasoning. The macaroni was dry and didn't have any cheese underneath the surface. The hash was blend tasting, but the BBQ sauce made a difference. Overall, I gave this establishment a 2 of 5 because I liked the way they packaged the food.

Ambience is very good.. well laid out. Waiter was prompt and friendly. Ordered the triple meat platter, had turkey, pulled pork, and brisket. Disappointed that the brisket was shredded.. looked and tasted like pulled pork. The two glasses of Coke I had were completely watered down. The sauces at the table were missing a sweet n' sassy option.. Mac and Cheese was great. Won't be back. Always worth trying a restaurant at least once. May work for others. Just my experience was very average.

Yelp
Stopped by Home Team BBQ in Columbia, SC, and tried their sliced brisket sandwich on a Hawaiian roll with pickles and pickled onions --delicious! The pickles and pickled onions added a nice tangy crunch that tied it all together. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was great--laid-back but lively, with a welcoming vibe. The service was excellent too; the staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Yelp
Ordered takeaway with the family. We ordered a couple children's cheese burgers, tater tot appetizers, a regular cheeseburger, chicken tenders, couple of salads (one with pulled pork and the other with brisket) and, queso dip with chips. Total came out to approximately $96. What's hot - Menu. Good variety. There's meats, veggies, and even a few dishes for vegans. - Quality. With the exception of the heat of the food, which I explain below, their food is pretty good. Their sauces are pretty good, with a few (all of which were red, so I cannot tell you exactly what kind of sauce they are) actually having a spicy kick. Their queso is a pretty good flavor, as well. The texture of their queso is nice and thick, with a delicious combination of some mix-ins. - Portions. Fairly good and enough to get you full. To be fair, we all ordered dishes enough for one person. None of us ordered their combination platters, which appear to be pretty big, with enough for leftovers. - Price. For the portions, it's good value for money. For example, my salad is approximately $13, plus an additional $4 for the brisket. The tater tots appetizer is approximately $8. That we paid a little less than $100 for food for a family of 6, that's pretty reasonable. What's not - Service. The app gave us a specific time to pick up our order. I arrived at the restaurant on time and our order wasn't ready until 20 minutes later. That meant that most, if not all of our food, was cold by the time we ate (bc driving home took about 15 mins). They appear fairly busy on the weekends. When I arrived to pick up the order, there were several people waiting in the bar area for tables to free up. My point is to be prepared to wait. - Menu. The description of their food on their menu is fair and not very helpful. This is specific to their sauces, which they describe as red, green, hot, etc.... Not descriptive at all. Final answer Not bad and would be willing to return, but not a first choice.

Yelp
This place never lets me down. It's my go to spot for drinks and apps with friends. The staff is always nice. The vibe is loud but cozy. My favs - tater tots, chicharones, the rib platter, and whatever new special apps they have. I always get the hazy IPAs and margaritas. The hot bbq sauce is really good.

Yelp
Best BBQ I had while touring USC. The range of sauces was super fun, Mac n cheese was heavenly, pork and chicken were both awesome. Server was friendly and food came really fast. Interior was a little dark, but perfectly fit the bbq experience

Yelp
This was possibly the best food I've eaten in my entire life. We asked our server and he suggested multiple things so we ordered those and my group shared each one. We were mind blown how delicious they all tasted. The host that brought us to our table was a super nice host. The food and vibe was great in here and you can tell why so many come in here. The service though was the best of the best. Every server in here was absolutely perfect. We all loved it.

Yelp
Really like home team, walked in tonight to about 8 empty tables and a hostess that told me it was a 20 minute wait for a table.. I inquired about the empty tables and was told they weren't available.. home team needs to train their hostesses a little better. Why should I wait when there are PLENTY of open tables.

Yelp
Food was great! Ambiance and service were welcoming. Went to Home Team BBQ for lunch and was not disappointed! I ordered the half rack of the St. Louis cut ribs, mac n cheese and collard greens. The platter comes with a roll and cracklings. My waitress told me that their greens were on the sweet side but the hot vinegar dressing balanced it out.

Yelp
Flew to Columbia SC for a day trip for food and This place was recommended by a couple of locals for the best BBQ. The restaurant is roomy with a nice bar and plenty of seating. The server was great and very attentive. Now to the food I wouldn't call it the best BBQ but it's not the worst either. The Ribs were Tender and fell off the bone I just wish I could taste the season that was on there. The Mac and Cheese was a No for me it was dry and needed more season as well. The greens were good season but just a tad bit more vinegar than I'm use to but it doesn't take from the flavor. The brisket chili was okay nothing to brag about. I didn't like the pull pork and the sausage was good as well.

Yelp
Came here with the family for some good old fashioned bbq Pros - excellent customer service. Our waiter was very friendly and prompt with our orders. Wide selection of brews. Brisket and fried ribs were definitely the stars. St louis ribs were a bit dry. Good selection of sauces for mixing with the pulled pork. Great place to watch the game and chow down on some tender meat Cons - none! Definitely one of the best bbq in Columbia. Has been a long time staple and for sure come here for some traditional southern style bbq

Yelp
This visit for the three of us was absolutely awesome. We tried chicken, jalapeno sausage, pulled pork, and ribs. All were excellent.Sauces were also very tasty and we had six different to choose from. Side dishes were tasty and the banana pudding was great. Joshua took care of us nicely. We all agree that we will return another time.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Spent a Friday afternoon exploring Columbia and SC's campus, so we decided to pop in for a late lunch. For a Friday afternoon on homecoming weekend, it was surprisingly not as busy as you would expect. My friend and I were immediately sat at a table inside. Our waiter was not exactly friendly - he was not very personable or helpful. We would ask him for recommendations or other questions about the menu and he was a little short and uninterested. Looking around at other tables, it appears that he was hopeful an exception as far as service goes. The food, however, was phenomenal. My friend and I both tried the house drink, Home Team's Frozen Game Changer. The nutmeg with the OJ and rum made the perfect midday drink, and it was honestly stronger than we both anticipated (in a good way)! We shared two of the snacks: the bbq nachos and the pork cracklins. Both portion sizes were huge so if you're looking to share apps with a group, there's no need to get a ton! The nachos were delicious and perfectly layered with toppings without becoming soggy. The pork cracklins had the perfect crunch and were deliciously paired with the pimento cheese. We tried out the sauces available on the table with the pork cracklins and they were all delicious as well. As for the ambiance, I would be extremely curious to see this place on a game day. Like I said, it wasn't too happening for it being homecoming weekend, but it was early afternoon. They have a ton of space and plenty of tvs to watch a game on. For a sports bar so close to campus, there wasn't as many Gamecocks memorabilia as one would expect. Overall, it was a delicious lunch and I would recommend someone from out of town to swing in for a quick drink or a snack!

Yelp
Meh. Meh. Could be great, but isn't. Could be cleaner, but isn't. Could be less sticky, but isn't. Then again, it is bbq. So maybe, just maybe, that's all the stickiness? To me this is overpriced when I can get good Mom & Pop bbq more convenient to my home. Cole slaw is sub par. Wait staff should greet guests, even when busy, and say I'll be with you shortly. That takes seconds... Letting someone know ahead of time you're behind is much better than waiting over 10 min for an initial greeting. I have a lot of grace when I'm told upfront there is an issue. But to be, what feels ignored, leaves little to desire. We've visited a few times and I feel with each visit the service, food, and experience is going downhill. I won't return unless someone specifically requests to meet there.

Yelp
One my favorite places! The wings are soooo good and really I haven't had anything bad on the menu. Game changer is always a go whenever I go.
google avatar

Tiffanie C.

Yelp
I'm going to give this place a 5 star, even though I didn't really care for one thing I tried. So first things first! The boiled peanuts are an absolute MUST! They are a little spicy and flavorful and there are little shreds of brisket in the liquid. Definitely a tasty snack while you're waiting on your entree or just watching a sports game. Next: Get the Death Relish! It's on the menu up by the wings. It's basically a very spicy slightly sweet hot chowchow. It went amazingly well on my meats but it would also awesome on your greens or a sausage dog. I loved it so much I paid $7 to take a pint home! The half rack of ribs were excellent. The bones were easily separated with either my butter knife or my fingers. They were tender and flavorful as served even without any of the sauces available. I also ordered 1/2 pound sliced brisket, which ended up being 2 big slices that were so flavorful and tender! I really enjoyed their hot red sauce. It had that spicy vinegar kick I crave in my barbecue sauce! Now to the item I didn't care for: the brisket chili. It was ground meat not shreds and had the consistency of hot dog chili, no beans. It did have a little kick, but the texture of it just put me off. I didn't eat more than a few bites and didn't take the leftovers with me.
google avatar

Tiana N.

Yelp
The food here was amazing and so was the service! John Paul was our server and he was kind, attentive and had great energy. Definitely the place to be for some good barbecue! My favorite was definitely the pulled pork and they have an assortment of sauces to choose from not that you need any.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
The best nachos in town. I was with a friend who is a nacho eating champion and we have eaten nachos across the entire city of Columbia. Home teams wins hands down for portion size, flavor, attention to detail, and price. All of the other food is great here as well. I had the brisket stew and it was really great--very unique. Tons of parking for being in 5 points. Friendly staff. Good beer selection. Can be both for groups or couples or travelers. Lots of different seating options around the restaurant. Chill vibe most of the time. Plenty of sports on the different channels. Open later than midwood so recommending if you don't make the 9pm cut off for a bbq craving.
google avatar

Antwon C.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner. Located in the 5 points district. . Popular place so expect long wait times. We split a three meat platter smoked Turkey, pulled pork, and brisket. For sides had the Mac and cheese and hash and rice. Enjoyed all except the brisket. It was very salty. Service was good.

Yelp
Great service and great ambiance whenever I'm at Home Team BBQ. Make sure to get there early on game days because they fill up quick, but love their platters. The key is to start with fried macaroni and cheese or the fried ribs because they are always 10/10!

Yelp
First time in Columbia SC and looking for something to kick things off. It's the south so of course I must have bbq. I decided to give Home Team a try and one word wow. My team and I was seated quickly. Drinks, go for the Game Changer / pain killer to kick things off. For starters the wings all the way. I've had a lot of wings but this was the best wings I've had in a long time. The special rub, meaty and smoked to perfection. You will enjoy them hands down. Coworker got the burger and indeed it was a mouthful on a nice bun. The pick three selection taste a little bit of it all. Everything from the brisket to the turkey had bold flavors. Save the last for the ribs... you will smile. Chefs kiss to the entire menu. To end with a sweet tooth, if you love banana pudding you try there's. It's just enough but will leave you wanting more. The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was chill.
google avatar

Shannon A.

Yelp
Excellent service and excellent food! The wings are some of the best I've ever had. Also enjoyed the burned ends and pulled pork. Tried all the sauces and they are spot on!

Yelp
Was in Columbia SC visiting and wanted some BBQ. Pulled up yelp and found this place. Plenty of parking and the inside was really cute. Was greeted immediately and escorted to a table. I order the frozen Soju lemonade to start. When I say this thing was DELICIOUS it's an understatement. I ordered the half rack of ribs with baked beans and Mac n cheese. The service was absolutely fantastic. Before I could take 2 sips of the frozen Soju lemonade my Meal was being delivered. When I say it was surprisingly delicious it's all true. The one drawback was the ribs were a bit fatty. Mac n cheese and baked beans were on point. The portion size was very generous. Had to do a to go bag. Only reason not a 5 was the fatty ribs. Will definitely be back again. Prices were a bit expensive.

Robert A.

Yelp
I was told it was a great place. The brisket was good, but I only got two pieces of brisket. I did not care for the half rack of ribs they were tough. I think they forgot to pull the membrane off the back of the ribs. Slightly disappointed with all the hype.
google avatar

Marisa P.

Yelp
This place was pretty good! There were a few bbq sauce options on the table and we enjoyed trying them all however none of them were super noteworthy for us. We did try a few different meats and everything was decent. The service was just ok, felt like we had to flag the server down a time or two and she didn't know the menu very well. The place is great for casual dining, has a sports bar feel to it which is perfect for the food being served. All in all we enjoyed our visit and would consider returning when we are in the area!
google avatar

Lisa F.

Yelp
Best pulled pork and smoked Reuben we've had in a long time. Each bbq sauce delicious. Service was fast. Food was hot. Banana pudding was a nice treat at end of meal.

Yelp
Great sauce and side options!! Friendly staff and good vibes. Try the corn bread you won't regret it

Yelp
Well. HomeTeam BBQ. Service is excellent! Ambience is casual. Food is okay. Nachos are good. I'm not impressed. I give you 5 stars because the staff were so kind! Thxx for your assistance! I forgot to photo my nachos cuz I was starving! Lol

Aric B.

Yelp
Worth the wait! I would consider myself a BBQ snob. If you are into brisket, do yourself a favor and order it without hesitation. Fantastic flavor and the meat seemed to melt in your mouth. The service was outstanding once we got seated and the vibe on a South Carolina game day was outstanding.
google avatar

Quin Y.

Yelp
Super nice location near 5 points. Offer a nice selection of bbq, brisket, smoked chicken and sides. Employees were quick and attentive! Definitely try the fried ribs with Alabama white sauce at your next visit.

Ari F.

Yelp
Nice place, nice environment. The service our waiter gave us was above and beyond. He recommended some of their best dishes, as it was out first time there. If you like home style BBQ, this is the place!
google avatar

Tori E.

Yelp
Yum, yum, yummmm! We will most definitely be back for more! My husband and I LOVED the fried ribs and pork rinds! My sons enjoyed their fried chicken and sides, but the sauces are really where it's at when dining here. Very nice atmosphere! Great for a casual date night, or a group of friends. It's a fun joint! It seems to get packed pretty easily and it can be a pretty noisy scene, but the food is really what you come here for! We will definitely come back for more one day because I want to keep eating more of their food!

Yelp
Worst most overpriced BBQ I've ever had, also terrible service. We watched our drinks sit on the counter for 10 minutes before it came to us and the place wasn't busy. The server smelled like cigarettes and we got our food 5 minutes apart. After almost a 40 minute wait for food we were greeted with the most bland white people BBQ we've ever had. I literally got food poisoning from Maurice's and I'm still more likely to go there than here. I wasn't going to leave a review but I saw this place was at 4 stars and I don't want people to waste money when there's way better BBQ in the area.

Jon B.

Yelp
First up our waitress had NO IDEA of why HTBBQ did NOT have fries as a side when I asked her. Later on, I figured it out: ALL of the sides are served in tiny cups, holding about 4 oz of beans, greens, etc. whatever you order-so they are cheap. Then on the menu, it says there is an up charge to add a tablespoon of slaw to a BBQ sandwich, plus a sign on the front door which states that anyone using a card will be charged an extra 3% for doing so.....it is obvious that HTBBQ is set on charging the customer AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE while provided as LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. When the manager came by & asked about our meal, I told him it was, "Okay", then he asked why and I explained there was not fries on the menu-just kid sides, which most adults would not want....he piped up and told me that "Tater-Tots" were available and the I told him I was never given that option. The pulled pork sandwich was good, not great-somewhat cold, the Baked Beans were cold as ice....I also asked the manager if he had ever been to Mission BBQ, he said no & was quick to tell me that Home Team BBQ was not Mission...I quickly agreed and told him he should go to see how a BBQ restaurant should be run....quick, fresh & hot when served. BOTTOM LINE....If I am going to spend $60 for lunch, I want something I want to eat...Home Team could NOT provide it.....go somewhere else as in Columbia there are SEVERAL BBQ joints which are NOT overpriced. I did tell the manager her that Mission BBQ is also overpriced, but at least they provide better service and especially BETTER FOOD. I will NOT go back to Home Team BBQ ever again.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My husband loves barbecue. So we tried the two meat platter with sliced brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, collard greens, and it came with come with a Hawaiian roll. I had the jalapeño cheese sausage with mac & cheese and baked beans. The food was mediocre. It wasn't the barbecue that we were looking for so it was just OK. Nothing extra. Both meals did come with Cracklin. That may have been the best. The greens weren't really seasoned that well but the mac & cheese was hot, so it was good. There's an up charge for brisket and ribs in the combo. The pull pork was not good at all. The staff was friendly the food Came out really fast. I wouldn't come back. If I was looking for barbecue I will go somewhere else. I ordered banana pudding to go. If that's really tasty ...I will edit and add appropriate star rating lol. Sorry, I forgot to get pictures maybe because it wasn't to appealing.

Yelp
First time and I absolutely loved it! The restaurant is nice and I love the styling of the place. Inside the men's room the wall paper are pages from BBQ history books, thought that was so cool. The food was great, fast, and came out hot. As a Kansas City guy I'm always looking for the next best BBQ and Home Team did not disappoint

John P.

Yelp
Best wings hands down! Smoked. I don't do the sauces but they have a lot of them. I tasted a couple and they are good but I like my wings dry. Their alcoholic drinks are expensive but that's what they make their money on. I drive 40 minutes one way for these wings when I am wanting wings.

Yelp
My daughter loves this place and had been wanting to take us so we went on our visit last weekend. I was a bit underwhelmed. I found there to be a lack of choices, especially on the sides. I don't think I've ever been to a bbq place that didn't have either fried okra or green beans as a choice. I just ended up with a pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese as a side. It was fine. The Hawaiian roll was nice. I guess if you are a sauce person the choice of many sauces would be appealing. There wasn't much atmosphere but it was a bbq place so no loss in points for that. Sitting right next to the kitchen door was not great as we were right next to it and it was a swinging door that you got the sensation was going to hit you every time it opened. So I'm glad she has enjoyed it but there are a lot of other places on Columbia that are more to my personal liking.

Yelp
Awesome spot for great food and some sports watching. Was able to watch some football, basketball, and baseball all from out seat. The food was phenomenal. We started with the special Buffalo Chicken dip that came with BBQ tortilla chips. The app was more than enough for the two of us but was super creamy but the right amount of spice. I opted for the mac and cheese burger special as well with tater tots which was phenomenal! A patty of fried Mac and cheese between two smash burger patty's with bacon and sweet jam. The perfect balance of sweet, salty and savory. The tots were amazing as well and came with a tasty aioli dipping sauce. Topped off with the special Smoke on the Mountain cocktail made with Mezcal, mango and orange juice and a spicy salt rim. A 5/5 meal and experience!

Yelp
Absolutely substandard. Firstly, it took an hour just to receive my food. Once I unloaded it, my first impression was that the portions were very unsubstantial and weren't close to being filled to the brim with product. Keep in mind I spent $75 for a family meal, which should be renamed to "overly-expensive meager-portioned below-standard meal." To conclude, this restaurant produces average-at-best food that takes a concerning amount of time to prepare. I will never visit here again, and neither should anyone else.

Yelp
Sorry, everything was bad. Except the sauces they have on the tables. Wings-Dry! St Louis Ribs, uneatable. Pulled pork was mush. Brisket was good texture but no favor. Cole slaw, ok, beans come from a can for sure. Only thing we enjoyed weee the collard greens.

Yelp
I think over priced & over hyped. Sweet collard greens? We got baby back ribs & 3 slices of beef brisket MAC & cheese & brisket chili with 2 dinner rolls $60 never going back.

Yelp
As a native Charlestonian, my family and I have traditionally supported Home Team. My husband and I went this afternoon for a late lunch to avoid the midday crowd. We were in Nigel P's area. We appeared to be the only table in his section, and from our first interaction with him, he appeared irritated. He didn't check on us after we got our food to see if we needed anything (more plates because we were sharing a meal, napkins, drink refills, etc.) until we were finished. Hope he has a better attitude with the customers seated in his section.

Yelp
Once again I had a fantastic sliced beef brisket sandwich! Smoked just right. I doctored mine up and put fresh chopped onion on it along with their excellent slaw. I then loaded it up with their extra hot, hot sauce, aka HT Hot sauce and made a perfect Texas Brisket Sandwich lacking jalapeños. The best! I sampled the mustard sauce and it was excellent and in a class by itself as it had dijon in it rather than regular mustard. Bam!!! Excellent!!! Try it and you will love it.

Yelp
When you're looking for late night bites after having drinks, Home Team has you covered! Their food options definitely will soak up some of the booze that'll hurt you the next day haha.

Yelp
Visited on a Tuesday night so not busy and as I read other reviews that is what made an impact. Glad we chose to have bbq on a whim because we got to try a new spot and honestly great food! I didn't really scan much reviews before we got here but I did see the smoked wings in pictures and they looked and sounded good! The highlight of our night they didn't even need the sauce that it came with. It was the Alabama White, I would say sweet sauce honestly I just dipped to try it but the Smoked Wings were good as is. We also shared the combo platter of 3 meats we got the pulled pork, chicken, and brisket. The pulled pork was our favorite since there was so many sauces to try but our favorite was the RED. The chicken came marinated and tasted great the brisket wasn't my favorite but it was very tender. The DRINK was the #2 highlight I got the Rub is a battlefield and I was NOT let down the margarita was perfect amount of smoked because whoa definitely made a difference. Husband had a michelada we both thought it tasted different a good different. This place will definitely be recommended!

Yelp
Completed an online order for pick up and it was fairly simple to order and pay. They were pretty busy. The hostess and the manager were very nice. The food was packaged well. The macaroni and cheese and collard greens were pretty tasty and seasoned well. The brisket wasn't my favorite. The ribs were seasoned and smoked well with a great flavor. I wish they were more tender, but they were good. The smoked wings; the smoked wings! They were the highlight of my meal. Especially because they were cooked how I prefer them, extra crispy. The Alabama white sauce was not for me at all. Heavy mayonnaise taste that was just not great. The food was flavorful, so the extra sauces were not needed.

Yelp
I hate the bbq brisket nachos, they were amazing and huge portion sizes. I wasn't able to finish them all. I got them to go, but the setup was nice and had lots of TVs for a sports feel. The hostess made sure I was well taken care of.

Yelp
Cannot say enough about how delicious this place is! From the drinks, to the sides, to the meats all 10/10 would recommend. And wow the burnt ends are a must! The meat was tender and moist. Absolutely loved the sauce variety! Also Janie is a gem so knowledgeable and sweet. Would return again and again if we lived closer!
