Yelp
This is a loud and boisterous place that is clearly set up for being a happening night life spot what with the large tables and open areas, including outdoor seating. It is somewhat reminiscent of a Buffalo Wild Wings that serves BBQ instead of wings.
Service was great for our mid-week lunch visit. Water at the table, in a small milk jug, which is indicative of the style of decor, a rustic, Southern, tin-roof kind of decor. Multiple sauce flavors are at the table as well.
Let's pause here to say that the tater tots were excellent, crisp, soft at the same time and served with a harissa mayo and rosemary salt. Large portion size too!
The BBQ is also a healthy serving. Almost too much, I felt the meat sweats might be coming on. Served on a Kings Hawaiian bun. A little garnish of a pork rind on one side and house made pickled cucumber & red onion on the other side (typical, helps to cut the sweetness of the sauces). Cole slaw was not vinegar based, but cream based and it was a light touch on the cream, also a plus.
But the sandwich is $14.95 and that is just a bit steep (like 50% more than some other local BBQ places, e.g. S.B.H or Bucky's). But, it is not about the BBQ for this restaurant, it is about the "scene", and I hate to call it a "bar scene", but it is probably hopping in here late on a Friday or Saturday night, and even louder than normal. And that's what you are paying for, the lively crowd, see and be seen - decent enough BBQ though.
