We hosted our daughter’s reception at Homestead Manor on 8/23/25. The property is absolutely stunning—the manor itself is perfect for an elegant celebration. Their table setup crew did a great job as well (just note there’s an additional $500 fee for setup of table and chairs). The event itself was filled with fun and joy, and we loved celebrating with friends and family.
The reason for my 3-star rating is the management experience. The venue manager was rigid and difficult to work with from the start—not just with us, but with our vendors as well. This created unnecessary stress during what should have been an enjoyable planning process.
For example:
We were scheduled to access the property at 4 p.m. for a 6 p.m. start time. I requested an extra 15–30 minutes since nothing else was happening at the venue that day. The answer was a firm “no” unless we paid extra.
Our DJ needed 2.5 hours to set up (a standard request, according to them), and that was also denied, even though the venue was empty.
We rented chairs from an outside vendor for delivery the morning of the reception. When I notified the manager, she asked why they couldn’t come just an hour before we got access. Unfortunately, I don’t control vendor routes. She also refused to let the chairs be stored under the canopy for protection when pickup couldn’t happen until Monday. Her solution? Require a late-night pickup at 11 p.m.—which most companies won’t do without a big extra fee. We had to stack the chairs on the lawn and buy a heavy tarp in case of rain.
Bottom line: The property is gorgeous, and the event itself turned out beautifully, but be prepared for a very inflexible and unpleasant management experience. I would recommend Homestead Manor for its aesthetics—but expect added headaches when it comes to working with the manager.
