The Best Bars in Denver

"Just a few steps away from Nocturne, this cozy, homespun lounge welcomes all for a mindful drinking experience, with or without booze. Myriad superfoods, adaptogenic botanicals, and even crystal and flower essences as well as the namesake honey flourish in alcohol-free potions, low-ABV brews, and cocktails alike; kick things off with a full-strength Crimson Cloak, featuring beet- and tarragon-infused mezcal, Coiron Jaune, damiana liqueur, sage, and lemon, then take a breather with the Chocolit, or cacao laced with mushrooms, mucuna pruriens, sea salt, and MCT oil." - Ruth Tobias, Josie Sexton, Eater Staff

Google
Very cute little bar. Great vibe. The bartenders are very sweet and helpful on what drinks to choose. A lot of options from alcoholic to non alcoholic beverages! I tried the cup of sunshine (potion) sparkling lemony taste, Guatemalan cocoa it’s a bit bitter with a rich taste of chocolate, Dark Dayz it’s similar to an Italian soda. I love it. Recommend coming here!

Google
Love Honey so much! It is a true beacon of love and acceptance in Denver. The unique drinks are truly the best. Especially love Kaylee the bartender and the owner, Jocasta. Would highly recommend for a fun and uplifting experience.

Google
I’ve been here multiple times and it is a neighborhood favorite of mine - 4.5/5. I love the atmosphere, drinks are interesting and eclectic, and it’s usually a very reasonable wait on most days to get in. Definitely a hidden gem in my opinion.

I was impressed with honey elixir bar from the minute I walked in the door. The vibe is relaxed with just the right amount of energy and buzz to make it interesting. I happen to have been here on a day when the weather was nice so the garage doors were rolled up and people were sitting outdoors as well as enjoying the indoor seating area. We ordered a charcuterie plate, and cocktails from the specialty cocktail list. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented! This part of town can be pretty crowded on game days or Fridays and Saturdays, but I was excited to find parking very near to the restaurant and plenty of additional places to visit, such as the awesome shop next door that featured a variety of gifts and interesting food items.

Google
Fun cocktail bar near the main strip with interesting drinks and a fun atmosphere. I enjoyed their drinks and also like that they offer non alcoholic options. They allow 18+ which can be nice if you are going with family as I was. I didn't get a chance to try their light bites but would like to next time I visit. Overall the atmosphere was the standout characteristic for me as it has a very fun and relaxed vibe.

A friend and I stopped in a little after open on a Saturday and we immediately loved the space. It is quite small (but not cramped) so they do ask for their guests to stay only up to 90 minutes. We wanted to go for their non-alcoholic drinks because we this location had been recommended for them. We tried the Amore Rosa, Pepper Up, and Tranquil Waters. Because the drinks we chose were alcohol free, the higher prices threw us off a bit. The Amore Rosa was underwhelming and it wasn’t my favorite. The Pepper Up was so juicy tasting with just a prefect amount of spice. And my hands down favorite was the Tranquil Waters!! The Brûléed Gruyère was also very delicious! And the staff was very friendly and the place had just the most beautiful vibe!

Everyone that works here is amazing and full of love! Stop by honey if you are looking to have a super unique fun experience. Their menu is seasonal and their non alcoholic bevies are a must try. The staff here too are always on point! The snacks/food are always really good as well and super affordable.

Google
This place is pretty cool. Good drinks and great atmosphere. It's a little packed, but it's cozy. The staff are nice and you can tell they are having fun working there. They play quite a long list of EDM and it's really nice to just chill and vibe. It's a good place to meet strangers as well. Everybody is polite and friendly! Check this place out!

Yelp
Really cool vibey spot in the area. They have great drink selections/suggestions and friendly staff that check in on us frequently. We only had drinks because we were hoping around but we definitely could have stayed longer.

Yelp
We were only here for a quick shot and look around, but I really loved the vibes of this bar. Located behind the Denver Central Market, this cozy bar serves up unique cocktails, mocktails, and great selection of wines. The bartender made us a shot with honey, whiskey, ginger beer, and lemon juice. It wasn't on the menu, but it was very tasty and the bartender was happy to create it for us. While we were, they had the doors open and which made it a great spot for people watching. Fun Fact: 18+ are allowed here and they have a full "Potions" menu dedicated to non-alcoholic drinks (mocktails) and small snacks like cheese plates and hummus. Seems a like a great bar to kick start your night.

Yelp
FINALLY had a chance to come here - it's so cute!! Definitely need to come back for the actual notorious cocktails because my boss took me and my coworker here for a champagne toast. They filled those glasses to the brim. Love the vibe, love the decor, love the service. Located in the alley behind Denver Central Market but not in a sketchy way. Can't wait to try this bar again. Normally it's too packed to get a seat or table.

Yelp
We didn't stay for drinks because it was busy. The pictures make it look much larger and upscale, it felt more like a dive bar for the younger local crowd.

Yelp
Such a gem tucked away in an alley in RiNo behind the food hall!! So happy we stopped by for happy hour. It feels like you're in a hipster speakeasy with the dim lights, and funky artwork but the aromas and velvet couches add more flare! We were in before 5 on a Thursday and the space started to fill up! Service was friendly and fast. $10 happy hour cocktails sweetened with Colorado honey - love! Check them out! You'll be so happy you did! We cant wait to come back!

Yelp
I've heard buzz around this place for months and finally found myself getting to see what it's all about. Located through the alleyway behind Denver Central Market this spot is tucked into a cozy space with a few main seating areas and a fairly small bar. Honey Elixir Bar is for their 'elixirs' suitable for any style of drinkers (no alcohol, low ABV, and cocktails) made with organic botanicals and honey in place of sugar. I asked for some guidance and our server helped us pick out drinks. I tried the Guatemalan-style cacao in a 3oz serving. Cacao is known to uplift energy and increase circulation and I did feel uplifted which was the perfect little boost without having a coffee! I can't wait to come back with a group of friends to share this spot. It has a unique and comforting energy & vibe with a menu to match! If you're on the fence get off of it and come check this spot out.

Yelp
This is a super cute place hiding in a downtown alleyway. The decor is adorable and the menu full of fun drinks. There were multiple non alcoholic cocktails but only one or so with pregnancy safe ingredients. I like that they also had low alcohol kombucha as an offering. Pricey but a cute place for a date night.

Yelp
Honey Elixer Bar is serving 'unique and obscure beverages that are intended to elevate and enhance the human experience.' They have uplifting and mood altering options! Be sure to check them out for a cocktails, mocktails, and cacao

Yelp
My first experience at this bar was great. I went out with two friends on a Saturday, got seated quickly, and tried a variety of great cocktails. The Rooted Revelry was my drink of choice - a fun spin on a more whisky forward drink. The second time I went there, about a week later on a Thursday night, there was a group of 10 of us. We were seated at their main table in the middle for over 20 minutes and no-one even approached us to take a drink order, just provided waters as soon as we sat down, then nothing. We ended up leaving due to the lack of service. It felt like we were purposefully ignored. The space is not that big. I was really disappointed because I had friends in from out-of-town and was excited to show them this place. Now, I am not sure if I will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute spot. Staff is very nice. Large liquor selection. My only gripe is I wish they had a handful of wine options. They only have sparkling wines. Other than that this place is really cute, I def recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Yelp
The hubs and I came here for cocktails with friends this weekend. We came early (before 5) and the place was pretty packed. Luckily they had a four top open up quickly so we didn't wait long at all. I appreciate the menu offers both alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. It really shows off the skills of the bartenders and vision of the team. The figgy gin cocktail was a table favorite as well as the old fashioned and aviation. For my second, I ordered their off the menu NA special which was pineapple, lime, I think clove. I don't know everything but it was tart, very lightly sweet, herbaceous and absolutely delish. It was my favorite of all the cocktails actually. I did add glitter to my figgy cocktail because why not but it's a one and done for me. The overall vibe is awesome too and I love the crystals and laid back feel. I see this as a regular go to spot.

Yelp
Drinks- 10/10 Food- don't know but it smells amazing Decor- 10/10 Service- 10/10 All of this is great. But I think the biggest thing that will keep me coming back to Honey Elixir time and time again is how thoughtful EVERYTHING is. All of the drinks are delicious, and I love that they have alcoholic, low alcohol, and no alcohol options. Almost all the ingredients (including the liquor) is made in house by their "alchemist". The gold and glitter touches on the decor is both classy and whimsical and of course pays homage to bees and honey. The menu is seasonal and the bar tender was experimenting for some new spring drinks they will introduce-- it was cool to see how intentional they were about their process for creating the new drinks. The spot is tucked away in an alley behind Denver Central Market, so you'd think it's easy to overlook, but it got pretty busy by 6ish (still not overwhelming or anything though). Definitely don't sleep on this little gem!

Yelp
Stopped in for some drinks with the girls! This place is super cute & the perfect place to grab a drink after work. Our waitress was very kind & took the time to chat about drink options with us.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this spot, it's small, quaint, nicely decorated, and has a really fun and unique list of cocktails. Everything I've tried has been top tear and with every penny. Additionally the staff is happy to help point you in the right direction if you're not sure which drink is right for you. Great for date nights or intimate gatherings with friends

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night before dinner and was surprised at how busy it was. We had to wait a bit for a table, it seemed like they might have been understaffed. All of our cocktails were good and it's fun that they have such a wide variety unique drinks. They definitely put time into thinking through the cocktails. We had reservations so we're only able to get one drink but I would definitely love to come back and try some more options. We got a few snacks the hummus and the the Chèvre which was great. The two were a good portion for four of us. They also had a cute little outdoor area where people had some pets with them.

Yelp
Omg!! This place was recommended to me and it did not disappoint! The entrance is through an alley and was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a sign that said welcome you are magic! And that was totally the vibe! There were a lot of crystals and unique artwork surrounding the inside. We got right in and used the QR code to access the menu. They had great options and the waitress gave her expertise. They also have merch for purchase in which we saw people buying and thought about getting some thing next time because we will definitely be back!

Carrie T.

Yelp
Great service! I got a non alcoholic drink & it was delicious!!!! The staff was friendly & willing to answer any questions I have had. Mostly young people.
google avatar

Devyn A.

Yelp
I do love the atmosphere when it's not the weekend. They play calm music and the seating is comfy. I would suggest this spot for a Wednesday or Thursday evening before the weekend people start coming in.
google avatar

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night with a friend. We were able to score a little table right away. The staff was on top of it getting us served right away and providing the best recommendations for what to get to drink. It's very intimate and cozy and you can still have conversations and hear each other. Would definitely stop by again for their unique drinks.
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Very cute little place with a good-sized drink menu. It could use a few more cocktail options, but bartenders were happy to make us something off the menu. The focus is on rejuvination and breaking out of the fast-paced hussle, which is appreciated. The only complaint is that last call at 10:30 and we would have liked to destress a little longer at Honey. We enjoyed our time.
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
This place is pretty good, it's so cute as you can see from the photo. I will say, though, that it does get busy so get there early and the music is dance club loud. The drinks are delicious and I love that the coasters have fun conversation prompts. I got the Honey Bear but was torn between that and King Triton. My friend got the Viva La Baja. The artwork in the space is very nice, you can definitely tell time was spent sorting out every detail of this alleyway cocktail spot!
google avatar

Deborah M.

Yelp
Wow, this place is definitely a vibe! Great cocktails, music and mood. They had a couple of festive specials but the smoky mezcal drink was the winner! Will be back!
google avatar

Grecia P.

Yelp
Honey Elixir has a great vibe to it and overall a nice place to visit for drinks. Their drinks menu is very unique and they also had a wide variety of non alcoholic drinks as well. The place is kind of small so it is ideal for smaller groups. I love that the coasters have conversation prompts as well! The server was super friendly and attentive. Also very knowledgeable about everything on the menu! I definitely would recommend this place and return in the future.
google avatar

YooJin Y.

Yelp
Great cocktails. The service could be a little slow during the busy nights. The ambience is good for date night.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
Loved honey elixir. My first time and I'd definitely go back! Love how the menu is split between alcohol forward cocktails and then more shaken / mixed options. I really enjoyed the garden party - cucumber was super refreshing! Went around 5 PM on a Saturday and walked right in and got a seat on one of the cute velvet couches. Great cocktails before dinner spot!

Anacarina A.

Yelp
This place is awesome!! Great drinks and atmosphere! Kind bartenders and people. A very unique, gem of a spot.

Yelp
Finally got to try Honey Elixir Bar with some clients! I think it's amazing that they have an array of non alcoholic drinks that are very tasty as well as perfectly presented. Our server was very sweet and attentive. I will say I was disappointed in the cheese board. For $25 there is hardly anything on it. Literally two pieces of cheese and then another type that was more like a spoonful. There were 8 of us so it definitely didn't go very far. I would recommend beefing that up some. The NA Four Fiore was amazing! Server suggested I try into the woods because of my love for a dirty martini but unfortunately it wasn't my jam. I really wanted it to be because of the actual mushroom in there as well as oil comprised of thyme, rosemary and sage. Maybe I'll have to give it another try.
google avatar

Joey K.

Yelp
This place is so cute and vibey. It's a small, dim lit, sit down bar. Workers were really nice and fun. Drinks were great and the pickles slapped hard. All the coasters have talking points on them which was a cute touch!

Yelp
When my girlfriend invited me out for a girl's night out, I wasn't sure how I was going to stay sober for Dry January. Let's face it, the best nights out consist of your girlfriends, cocktails and the best vibes. However, after a few folks recommended Honey Elixir's mocktails - I was in! PRO's: ++ Cozy location - tucked in between 26th and Walnut - right in the middle of the quintessential, graffiti art buildings in RiNo. ++ White string lights light up the entrance creating a welcoming impression! ++ Plush velvet booths and pillows, spacious community table and a large bar provide a trendy yet intimate, cozy, and fun vibe! ++ Wide variety of both cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine with both hot and cold options! - something for everyone! ++ Happy hour is offered Wednesday - Friday from 4-6pm! ++ A perfect Instagramable spot :) CON's: --- No reservations are offered. So come early or with a small party to snag a spot. Because it was just me and my friend, we were got the last little booth, which was fine for us, but for a larger party - good luck. ---Service is SLOW. I don't know if a typical Thursday night isn't as busy or what, but clearly one server was busting her little butt around tending to all of us - which proved to be no easy task - as the place was packed. --- 90 minutes are allotted for each table to imbibe and hang before tabs are closed to increase turnover. --- While my friend opted to stick with full bodied cocktails, I settled for their Jun creations - which consist of fermented green tea and honey with the additives of your choice. I got the Aphordisia - Damiana Epimedium and Hibiscus - at the recommendation of the server which came in an awkwardly full glass and literally had a floral dirt flavor. Wah. My friend wasn't impressed with her beverage either - which was opposite of mine - in that it came in a tiny glass and was SO strong. While the con's outweighed the pro's, I'd return here to give this cutsey little spot another chance...and try something else on the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Honey Elixir is a go to happy hour spot in RiNo. Their happy hour cocktail deals are great and it's in a perfect location just near the Denver central market. The indoor decor is so cute and the vibes are always on point.
google avatar

Rob F.

Yelp
When the queer community comes in front of your establishment to celebrate themselves and they have a DJ in the parking lot and someone asks you to turn off your music off to enjoy your bar but the queer vibe, turn your effing music off inside your bar, or close your outdoor space & bar and respect the queer community. A holes! only a few hours that you don't get to play your music! Lost neighborhood customer for good!
google avatar

Abbey L.

Yelp
Drinks were unique, I liked the vibe but wouldn't jump to come back. Nice for one drink if you're feeling classy but not for multiple.
google avatar

Shin M.

Yelp
I got a non alcoholic drink here for like over $10 or something. It was tasty but expensive... My friends both greatly disliked their alcoholic drinks tho. Said they wouldn't come back. Cute interior, nice furniture. Handmade coasters. Bar seating facing outdoors.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
This bar is super artsy and felt very intimate! Drinks were delicious and we loved the "potions" concept on the menu! Our waitress offered great suggestions based on what we were in the mood for! Gets busy later int he evenings so head here in the afternoon for a vibey drink!
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Best cocktail place ever!! Perfect little snacks and even more perfect place for girls night out
google avatar

Nino R.

Yelp
Nice little happy hour. Sitting room only though. Stopped in with a group of friends and were told that we couldn't stand around the high tops for safety reasons. Okie But it's a chill vibe, with a relaxed decor. There's some seating in the alley too so that tight. And they share the alley with the central market so there's always that city picnic option if you're feeling whimsical. But other than the classroom vibe at the bar it was a good time. Sir yes sir...
google avatar

Maddie M.

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink over MDW and it was super crowded with the thrift pop up happening across the street, but we were able to be seated at the bar with no issue. Drinks took a minute which is understandable given that they are craft cocktails. The one that we got was just okay. However, the bartenders didn't seem to want to interact with us at all. Might be better on a less busy weekend.

Desiree D.

Yelp
Im a sucker for flare. This place has a very unique vibe!!! Pro Tip- add a Szechuan Button to one of your drinks for something memorable in Mock-Tail land.
google avatar

Jaime H.

Yelp
This place took me 15 minutes to find. There's no sign, but there is valet in front of the building. Just don't ask him where Honey Elixir is because they have no idea what you're looking for. ITS IN THE ALLEY BEHIND THE BUILDING.... If you see people walking around looking lost please let them know it's in the alley. Thank you to the ladies who helped me! Honey Elixir is super cute, drinks are one of a kind, cheese board is great snack, & service was an easy 5*. We showed up little after they opened, but an office of over 30 people beat us there. Thought it was going to take forever to get a drink with only one bartender at the time. Bartender was on top of it all, & took care of us (he's an amazing mixologist). Lastly this is a great spot for a date, or after work drinks. Cheers, Jaime

Yelp
This place is truly a gem of RiNo. In a town that is covered in beer gardens and breweries, Honey Elixir is for you cockatilers of the world. (Myself included). With its velvet seats and beautiful display of colours, this cute little spot offer boujee fun for all to enjoy! It's tiny but they have a good array of outdoor seating, indoor seat, and bar seating. Knocking off a star because the flies are out of this world! They're constantly annoying the guests and there should be a fly seater at almost every table.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Super cute area that I had been wanting g to check out. I was here with a friend early on a Wednesday. There were only 4 other people in the whole place when I walked in and it didn't get much busier after that. I sat on the couches until I saw "reserved". I asked the wait staff if I should move and she said yes. I was moved to the side to/a rather uncomfortable straight back padded bench. My friend and I sat there for close to 2 hours and still no one came into sit in the middle section. I asked her if the party the table was reserved for had cancelled. She said it wasn't reserved for anyone in particular, they just like to keep it open for larger groups. I'm totally cool with that. But why not let others sit there until or "IF" anyone else comes in? She was pretty condescending in her explanation, "I just thought you'd be more comfortable over here". I was like, huh. I also agree with the other reviewer on the drinks. I told her I like martinis and what she brought out in a tiny glass was not good. Disappointing.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I am in love with this place! They have something for every palate and lots of non-alcoholic options as well! And they're not just boring 2 ingredient non-alcoholic "cocktails"! They're complex & flavorful concoctions that have you guessing if you're drinking alcohol or not. The staff is super passionate & friendly, and I love that this place is women owned & operated! Plus, this place has serious vibes. Vibrant colors, open air, in the heart of Rino. What a treat!
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
The best thing about this bar is the eclectic mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks--a perfect and unique option in an alcohol heavy, brewery and nightclub town. The owners show real dedication to the cocktail craft, and there is a mix of lovely organic ingredients in both the alcoholic and virgin options. Cool music, hip vibes, sexy atmosphere. Perfect if you're hopping around RiNo for a fun night!

Yelp
Super cute vibe and scene. Drinks were top notch and incredibly tasty. Top mocktail I've tasted in Denver for sure.

Yelp
Very cute! Strong drinks, friendliest service. Great place for girls being girls, an adorable date, or even a solo day!

Yelp
Fun, cute, sexy, upbeat. We happened to stop in here on a chilly afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. Very cool vibe. Great drinks

Yelp
I'm currently forgoing alcohol for weight loss and general health, so when I saw Honey Elixir had some "Potions" that were both non alcoholic and intriguing, I immediately put this on the places to try list. This elixir bar is located in a very vibrantly decorated alley. When you arrive, you're greeted by the smell of incense. Overall, the vibe was artsy, colorful, and chill. There was a dj playing some groovy beats inside. The staff was incredibly friendly and warm. The drinks: 5 out 5 for all 3. The Healthy Buzz had some alcohol and that was my husband's drink. It was tart and refreshing. I ordered the Four Fiore (non alcoholic) because I love lavender and there was rose and coconut cream in it. It did not disappoint! We split the Love Lixir. The sparkling glitter made it a treat for the eyes and the dried rose petals on top complimented the rose tea and hibiscus. We'll be back sometime!

Yelp
While we were out for dinner in Rhino, our waiter suggested we stop here for an after dinner drink and we are so happy we did. It is located in the alley behind the Denver Central Market. The ambiance has a super cool vibe with velvet seating and cool artwork. Props to the owners for creating a space that tells a story. Creative and beautiful cocktails made with honey that are tasty. You do not drink alcohol? No worries because they have you covered with just as creative and delicious mocktails. Too sweet? Ask for a drink that is more spirit forward. They aim to please. The staff are fun and round out the experience. We went on a Friday night. Definitely worth stopping by for the honey.

Yelp
Love the chill cool lounge vibe and alcohol free menu options Definitely plan to make this place a staple
