"Minigrow opens downtown on Friday, April 27, at 125 Summer St., with a second restaurant following suit on May 1 at 565 Boylston St. in Back Bay. The menu for Minigrow bears a resemblance to Honeygrow’s customizable noodle and salad bowls, but the more miniature restaurant uses a smaller list of ingredients, with a focus on mazeman noodles, dressings and sauces, and seasonal vegetables. There are assorted protein options as well, including roasted pork shoulder, poached salmon, and more. Boston’s Minigrow locations also serve juices and chocolate chip cookies. The Minigrow at Summer Street features a mural from local artist Silvia López Chavez, while the soon-to-open Back Bay restaurant will showcase work from Sneha Shrestha. On their opening days, both Minigrow locations are donating a portion of proceeds to the non-profit ArtsBoston. Eventually, the restaurants will partake in chef collaborations to introduce limited-run menu items. Additionally, the first 100 guests at each Minigrow opening will receive free meals." - Dana Hatic

I wasn't blown away by Minigrow. To be fair, they just opened, so I'll be sure to try them again in a couple months. Since it was my first visit, I tried the only named item on the menu: the chicken jawn. The noodles were the best part of the dish, filled with flavor, and I'd gladly eat a bowl of just those. But they were the only good part of the meal. The chicken was extremely dry may have had literally zero seasonings on it. The "sweet and sour" onions just tasted like caramelized onions. The "miso" corn just tasted like corn. I didn't taste chive at all, I'm not sure if it was even in the bowl. The price was absurd; whoever determines the pricing needs to reevaluate their strategy. $14 (!!) for a (medium sized) bowl of noodles, some corn, some caramelized onions, a small amount of dry chicken, and a glob of cheese. You can get better quality of all of those things nearby for almost half the price. If they don't fix their pricing model, I don't see them lasting too long after the initial excitement dies down. I'd like to say the food was good enough to warrant the price, but it really isn't. There are several other lunch places almost literally next door that do pretty much the same thing, but tastier and for much less money, so people won't have much of a reason to come here. The slogan is a little humorous... "Designed for those who are hungry for something different". Come on now, half of the lunch spots on that street are the same bowl-of-something-choose-your-toppings restaurants. This is just a poor execution of an exhausted and incredibly common trend.

Absolutely fresh and fantastic! A choose your options quick service food that focuses on healthy options and taste rather than speed. The restaurant itself is cool and has a warm modern feel. Try the spinach noodles with the braised pork belly-it's phenomenal!

Yeah, not that healthy or delicious food - famous for zucchini noodles, it’s a place that you may try given you like zucchini or spinach or different types of noodles. Hard boiled egg is not prepared right or chicken was undercooked last time Did not have great experience while ordering. I had ordered spinach noodles with a bunch of toppings and dressings - and only the noodles got delivered - just raw noodles!! Haha, had to order again - but they messed up with only my order, rest everyone’s in group order were fine

Updated review - Reached out to management about my order and they were very responsive and helpful. They were apologetic, refunded me due to the issue, and definitely understood what had happened and said they would take steps to make sure it did not happen again. Food was also very tasty, which of course is the most important thing! I would recommend for single orders, but definitely call to make sure they can handle larger orders before putting them in. Original Review - "Put in a large order with plenty of lead time and they were very inept at filling it. Do not allow people to enter an order if you are going to be an hour and a half late and finishing making it. They only had one slow person making the food instead of getting the whole team on it to get it out the door."

The food is delicious, from the base and the sauces, through to the toppings at the end!! So many choices - luv the hot or cold options to start, and the different proteins including a perfectly poached egg. I see some comments about price but you'd pay the same or more at Pret or similar. I'd pay extra for tasty food that's healthy to boot!

Update: They are fixing the ventilation system, but I still wouldn’t dine in there. I appreciate the google customer service from Minigrow with your patient reply. - I have been there three times within this week around lunchtime (1-2PM), but two of each time is closed early with no reason. I love your noodles because it is a substitution for being close to my office and not having to walk to chinatown to have noodles for lunch. If your store is going to close early, at least update your closing hours on google to let other customers know. Next time when I pay a visit, if your store is still closed early for no reasons at all, I will not go there again. Also, the only time when I was in there, it feels like I was in the sauna. Please fix your ventilation system to make the environment more comfortable. Thanks.

Salad was good, but couldn’t believe it was $16! Had to ask if they accidentally charged me for 2, but apparently it was right. That’s a bit much for a light lunch.
