I wasn't blown away by Minigrow. To be fair, they just opened, so I'll be sure to try them again in a couple months.
Since it was my first visit, I tried the only named item on the menu: the chicken jawn. The noodles were the best part of the dish, filled with flavor, and I'd gladly eat a bowl of just those. But they were the only good part of the meal. The chicken was extremely dry may have had literally zero seasonings on it. The "sweet and sour" onions just tasted like caramelized onions. The "miso" corn just tasted like corn. I didn't taste chive at all, I'm not sure if it was even in the bowl.
The price was absurd; whoever determines the pricing needs to reevaluate their strategy. $14 (!!) for a (medium sized) bowl of noodles, some corn, some caramelized onions, a small amount of dry chicken, and a glob of cheese. You can get better quality of all of those things nearby for almost half the price. If they don't fix their pricing model, I don't see them lasting too long after the initial excitement dies down. I'd like to say the food was good enough to warrant the price, but it really isn't.
There are several other lunch places almost literally next door that do pretty much the same thing, but tastier and for much less money, so people won't have much of a reason to come here.
The slogan is a little humorous... "Designed for those who are hungry for something different". Come on now, half of the lunch spots on that street are the same bowl-of-something-choose-your-toppings restaurants. This is just a poor execution of an exhausted and incredibly common trend.
