Yelp
Good food and good vibes! Words that could only describe a great place like Honey Uninhibited. Back in February during a week long girls trip, my 4 friends and I stopped by to fill our bellies prior to boarding a cruise. I found the restaurant via a Google search of top brunches in the area, then made a reservation for 10am on a Sunday. We arrived shortly after a rain shower. It wasn't too packed, but there were a significant amount of people dining. We were immediately greeted by the hostess then seated inside. The restaurant decor is trendy with a colorful and modern vibe. There are a few photos opps including a lit "Beez in the Trap" sign and a painting of Tupac. Plenty of seating inside, as well as covered seating area outside. I can't remember if there was a live DJ however, there was some great old school and new hip/hop and R&B playing.
Within a few minutes of being seated, we were greeted by our server, Marlo. We viewed the menus via our phone. The menu features classic American brunch dishes, some with a southern comfort flare. The drink menu is also cute and features some honey inspired names like "Beez in the Trap" and "Honey Punch". All fitting for the theme of the restaurant. I started off my meal with a Bellini peach puree mimosa. It was delicious and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. For my meal, I went for the sweet chick n waffles. Food and drinks were up within minutes. In fact, whenever we order additional items, they were up within minutes. Everything was piping hot and displayed nice. Firstly, the texture of my waffles were exactly how I prefer them - slightly crispy and thick. The flavor was sweet and rich like they added vanilla to the batter, something I particularly enjoyed. The chicken seemed to be a boneless thigh breaded and fried. The seasoning was on point and the chicken was juicy and tender with a nice crispy texture. It was served with a spicy honey maple syrup which was not spicy at all, perhaps a tiny kick, but nothing overpowering and it paired well with the waffle. You'd be fine with or without it honestly. My friends all had a variety of dishes which I personally can't speak on however, I wanted to point out that Honey Uninhibited offers vegan dishes, one of which my friend ordered (the vegan banana toast) and enjoyed thoroughly.
The basis of this girl's trip was to celebrate both my birthday and another friend who was present on the trip. Marlo went the extra mile to provide us with complimentary shots! It was such a surprise and deeply appreciated. We both felt so special! In addition to all of this, they had a photographer present, who went around taking photos of patrons. She took a wonderful group photo of my friends and I. The photos are $20 however, it comes with a frame and the quality is great. Although a little pricey, given the special occasion, we purchased it with no regrets.
Above all, staff were kind, attentive, and helpful. Marlo especially, was very sweet and personable. Being from New York City, we were curious about the Miami culture such as mannerism and slang. We ended up exchanging funny stories with Marlo about things she's heard about New Yorkers, and things we've heard about Miami natives. It felt like we were all friends. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. It seems like an ideal place to catch up or celebrate a special occasion with friends or family. It can be a bit loud with the music, so I wouldn't say it's ideal for a date, it's more like a boozy brunch with a mild turn up. Pricing is moderate with most dishes costing a less than $30. 18% gratuity is automatically included. I spent less than $35 for such a wonderful brunch. Thank you so much to Marlo and the rest of the staff for starting our girls trip off on an amazing foot! I would highly recommend to others and I'll definitely be returning!
