The atmosphere was exuberantly artistic yet upscale, and service was really good. However, I found the actual food underwhelming. We ordered sweetbreads, halibut, and pork. The pork came as a giant hunk of meat, overly thick so that the outer parts became tough as shoe leather in the attempt to ensure it was cooked through. The sweetbreads and halibut were both good, but not phenomenal. Over all it was an ok meal, but since it left us two $130 poorer, I was disappointed by what we got.

Really enjoyed the food. Service was a little iffy but the menu was really a fresh take on a new cuisine in DC. Definitely a nice spot.

I ate here for lunch today and thought the food was superb. First you encounter the most delicious banana bread imaginable. Next was normally lowly chicken livers beautifully prepared; probably the best I have ever had. I also liked the shrimp and grits; interesting but not overly rich with butter-fat. My companion literally wolfed down his chicken sandwich. The service was friendly and professional. I also thought the lunch prices were very reasonable, with each of my courses well under $20. The restaurant should have more diners given the high quality of the food, but we thoroughly enjoyed not having to raise our voices to be heard. Come here if you want to eat well and enjoy stress-free conversation.

Very impressed. All of the food was good, but a couple dishes and drinks were really standouts. The champagne poached oysters in particular were amazing. If you are okay with anise (licorice) flavors, I highly recommend the Black Magic cocktail. The Cod main was very good but could have had a bit more flavor (good use of roe, though). The Muscovy Duck was my favorite of the two entrees we ordered. The service was probably the best I have received outside of very expensive, Michelin rated restaurants. Definitely check this place out.

The atmosphere and vibe are nice. It's quiet and open. There are fun murals on the ceiling and interesting art features around the establishment. Everything else is okay. The service was not great for such a supposedly nice place. It took a while for any of the waiters to acknowledge us. Even just to get water, was about 15 minutes after we had been seated. We kept making eye contact with the person we thought would be out waiter (he was) and he just kept walking by without a "good evening, I will be right with you," or anything until he walked up as though we had just arrived. I will say the host at the front was really friendly and definitely the best of the service staff we encountered. The food was good and certainly has the potential to be really good, but the Ocean Trout was drowning in a very rich sauce that initially had a good flavor, but after a few bites became way too much and we had to scrape off the excess for it to be palatable. The Grouper was also good, but was a little on the bland side, so between the two, we had to keep swapping back and forth.

I go here often. Happy hour is great and so is the dining. The food is amazing and always has a variety of flavors you would never think to put together. The atmosphere is also very nice. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. Overall a great experience and worth it.

The small bite of peas and Arctic char they gave us was excellent. Perfect crunch to the peas and very good flavor on the char. My main dish was the skate wing. Again, great selection of fish. The sea beans added a nice crunch and brine. The overall dish was too salty. This was not a product of the brininess of the sea beans. It was just oversalted. Not horribly so, but enough to make me go from 5 to 4 stars. Still highly recommend the restaurant overall.

Great quiet date spot in Dupont. Takes online (open table) reservations. Told them I was vegan beforehand and they had a seasonal vegetable dish available. Vegetables were delicious and my friend enjoyed his ribs! Offered a sample/palette cleanser (a fun surprise!) as well as a variety of bread with jam and butter. Lengthy dessert menu as well as a tasting menu available for $45 per person with a drink included. The staff is friendly and attentive, alcohol selection is expansive, and the decor is out of this world. Bar with seats to watch games as well. Dress smart casual.
