I love their food. It's clean, fresh, and seasoned well without being overdone. I've been to the restaurant three times already and would go back. WARNING message coming from a caring heart: If you ever plan to visit their website, DO NOT. Do not click their website because it redirects to a sketchy-looking site, and that's something you definitely don't want to open on your device. I shared my concern with a gentleman named Danny and mentioned their Google Maps listing a website that is connected to a different website. He said they had purchased the restaurant three years ago and that the previous owner had the access to the website. That was all. I already reset my phone after visiting the website, submitted an edit suggestion on Google Maps, and am leaving this review. I really hope the current restaurant owner takes steps to update their online presence up-to-date by taking down the outdated url on Google Maps and Yelp, for the safety and security of their customers.

Owner has great hospitality! We did have to wait for a bit since we went on a Sunday, but line moved at a reasonable pace and was organized. Food was warm though the xiu mai skin was thicker than we wanted. Highly recommend fried shrimp dumplings and steamed BBQ pork bun :) would consider go again!

The Dim Sum was very good. The ingredients were fresh. The egg roll was fried when we ordered, so it was fresh and crispy. The churng fun, was soft and the shrimp fresh. The hargau was very good. The restaurant was clean, plates were new and not scratched up. Even the tea was real Jasmin.

The plaza features well-known restaurants like Labobatory, Bopomofo Café, Golden Deli, and 7-Eleven. Across the street, you’ll find Bubble Republic, and on the other side, Tea Muru sits in another plaza. You can even spot the restaurant easily from the Bridge St entrance. 🚗 Parking: There’s a medium-sized shared parking lot for plaza tenants, but it can get busy during lunchtime. Street parking is also available if the lot fills up. 🍽️ Food & Service: The staff here are super friendly — the auntie who helped me was kind and very social. They offer a wide variety of dim sum, along with rice and noodle dishes. My order of three items came out in under 4 minutes, hot and fresh. Many small dim sum spots tend to serve food that’s just warm, but here everything was piping hot — a great sign of freshness and quality. The flavors were authentic and on par with the big dim sum restaurants that use carts. ⭐ Overall: Highly recommended if you want quality dim sum without the traditional cart experience. My rating is based on food quality, flavor, and service comparing to other dim sum restaurants — all solid across the board.

It may be small but it's certainly mighty when it comes to Dim Sum. We travel alot and try Dim Sum whenever we can. This place is the real deal and I will be hard pressed to eat elsewhere, when we visit the LA area again. The sweet options are not your usual basics, instead sweet custard egg delights, coconut yeast buns and pineapple custard to finish off your meal. The portions are generous and right on when it comes to taste. The owner is such a sweetheart and was so attentive during our whole meal, despite brisk walk in business. Kudos to the Dim Sum chef for his creativity. It was so good we had to grab an order for the road. What a neighborhood gem.

Very small HK style restaurant with seating capacity for 18 people. Not your typical dim sum parlor with roving carts. Modest selection and food was respectable for such a family owned business. No restrooms but they will provide a coin for access to one in the 24 hour laundromat next door.

Atmosphere was super fun. A co owner sat down and talked with all his customers. A warm cozy environment. Food was 10/10. Brough my mom, sister, and father who all ate until we were full. The pricing is extremely reasonable and do not underestimate the proportions 🥟♥️

Fantastic dim sum fare! Our wait for it was fast and its a place where u eat and leave quickly so turn around is fast. Portions were generous and delicious! There's an ebb and flow of crowd

Their portion is pretty huge. Especially shiumai and hagow~! They take orders just like a small restaurant unlike the traditional restaurant that a lady mattress pushing a cart. Dimsum all day. Close at 5pm. $6.95 per item not bad.

Place is smaller than other dim sum restaurants ( 6-7 tables ) but the service and food made up the rest!! First the service, the owner? Is very friendly and attentive, we went on a Saturday and although there's a lot of people waiting and we missed our call, he is able to get us back right in without having us to wait another 30 minutes which we are very appreciate to. After we order, the dishes come out 5 minutes so it is very fast. The food portion of shrimp & chive dumpling is pretty large and filling. Normally we order 8 dimsum dishes but this time 5 dishes already filled us up. We also ordered the shrimp rice roll, chui chow steam dumpling ( which I haven't tried a long time since other dim sum places doesn't have it usually ) and they are all pretty good!!

We stopped by Hong Kong Dim Sum House on a Friday morning and had a great experience. It's a very small spot with only around 8 tables, so be prepared for some walk-ins and take-out orders while dining. The plaza is small, and there's no restroom on-site(the closest is across the street at El Pollo Loco), but the overall experience was worth it. We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the turnip cake, which was tasty and not too oily - just right. The spare ribs in garlic sauce were good as well, though the broth wasn't as rich as I had hoped. The shrimp rice roll and the filled tofu skin were delicious, soft, and satisfying. The standout dish was definitely the fried sugar cane shrimp- crispy panko breading with delicious, soft ground shrimp inside. This is a rare find at other dim sum places, and it didn't disappoint! We finished off with the sesame balls filed with red beans, which were a perfect sweet end to the meal. Overall, the food was great, prices were reasonable, and the service was attentive. Despite the small size of the place, it's a hidden gem for dim sum lovers. We'll definitely be back!

Round up to 3.5 stars I considered myself a dim sum snob, so it takes a lot more to impress me. I have been going to "Yum cha" (Chinese tea +dim sum) since I was about 2-3 years old with my parents. Dim sum is pretty much a daily routine living in Hong Kong, and it's in my DNA. Before I dive into the food, I wanted to start off with the service. The young owner/manager was charming, friendly, and attentive. It is a small place with about 6 or 7 tables?, so it's important to keep the motion going, but at the same time, you don't want the customer to feel rushed. He definitely achieved that! I always order Shrimp Har Gow and Rice Noodle Roll (Cheung Fun 腸粉). I think if the chef can nailed these two items , they are set! The skin of the Har Gow was too thick, and I personally don't enjoy chewing a mouthful of the Har Gow skin - it should be translucent and slightly chewy. The rice roll was the same thing - the rice noodle sheets are too thick. The Bean Curd Wrap Meat was pretty good and savory. Mala Cake was hands down the BEST. Great texture and perfect sweetness. We even got another order to go. I would definitely return for this dish the next time I am in LA..

Small place, fits maybe no more than 20 at a time. Tables can seat from 2-6. Overall a family owned atmosphere with just the most popular dim sum dishes to try. The pricing is a bit above the other dim sum places for the same amount of food. Always a line outside because of how small it is. My biggest complaint is not having bathroom in here, not sure if they give you keys to go around the back. Everything is made fresh! Albeit a bit saltier than my liking but authentic for sure!

I'm glad we found this local spot by accident! The food was delicious, the service was good, and the price was very reasonable! The restaurant is small, with only five tables. Picture menus are on the wall, and many dimsum pastries are displayed in the case. We got all the Simsum must-have items, and we also ordered a personal favorite, including a beef ball and a sugarcane shrimp ball. I asked the staff for his favorite and he recommended the shrimp chive dumplings. I am not a Chive fan, but I was impressed with this dumpling; the dough was thin, a whole shrimp, and lots of Chive filling; it was yummy!All the dimsum are made in-house. They have another store in El Monte. I love this newly found local family-owned business!! I sure will come back and support it!

My go to dim sum spot. The place is small so I would come here with 4 people or less. Usual go tos are the Shumai, pork ribs, and chicken feet; all were amazing. The front of the house service were great as well.

The wait for 30 minutes paid off. Due to small space combined with going here during lunch time on weekend, making us to queue. The food we ordered is repeated from previous other dim sum places and NONE of them disappointed. I do have impression that this is a family business. Son greeted us, took and served orders while parents were doing magic in the kitchen! Overall I satisfied with service and will definitely come back. The comment I have is A/C was not cooling properly, making us lil bit uncomfortable eating steamy dim sum and sweating coz it was quite hot inside the restaurant.

My gourmet brother-in-law and I were discussing the lack or disappearance of his favorite dim sum menu item, chiu chow fun guo (Teochew dumpling 潮州粉果), from the Chinese restaurants near his West LA home. He waited until we came to visit since he considers my husband and I as fellow chowhounds, er, gourmands. However, instead of returning to the dim sum houses where we've previously eaten in the San Gabriel Valley/Alhambra neighborhoods, I looked to Yelp's recommendations for dim sum or yum cha. I found cozy Hong Kong Dim Sum House in a part of the San Gabriel Valley where we've never been to and said "Let's Go!" In South China or in predominately Chinese neighborhoods around the world, dim sum or yum cha is a weekly ritual family meal, usually enjoyed on weekend mornings or early afternoons. So, of course, we chose to drive spend our family Sunday morning in the San Gabriel Valley. After reading a couple of reviews for Hong Kong Dim Sum House which mentioned they only have seating at six tables and hungry crowds form if you arrive after their opening time (9:00 AM), I urged my family to make sure we get to the restaurant EARLY. We arrived around 8:45 AM and waited outside for a few minutes when a server, I think owner's son, David, allowed us to sit in airconditioned comfort. David brought us glasses of iced water, a pot of tea (I chose oolong), and a laminated menu with erasable pen. Since the restaurant is small, you make your selection and quantity directly on the laminated menu. Everything on the menu looked fantastic but we zeroed in on the chiu chow fun guo 潮州粉果 first before marking the other dim sum items. Service was excellent as David single-handedly managed a packed restaurant with a smile, composure and friendliness. FOOD: -Chiu Chow Fun Guo 潮州粉果: the wrappers weren't overly thick or rubbery as these dumplings were packed with its signature chiu chow filling (ground pork, shrimp, vegetables and roasted peanuts, etc) which held up without falling apart when picked up with chopsticks or biting into. We ordered two baskets, each containing three dumplings, to share among our foursome. However, one basket somehow ended up with my brother-in-law. LOL. $6.95 x 2 = $13.90 -Shrimp Har Gow 蝦餃;: these plump dumplings were filled with perfectly seasoned and steamed shrimp. The wrappers were translucent and relatively delicate with thicker or chewier areas along the dough seal and pleats. $6.95 -Siu Mai 燒賣: the steamed pork and shrimp dumplings exhibted a toothsome mouthfeel of chopped pork, not ground, and a subtle bounce from the cooked chopped shrimp. The wrapper is akin to delicate Hong Kong-style wonton wrappers with its typical egg-yellow tinge. $6.95 -Chicken Feet or Phoenix Claws 鳳爪: eating dim sum chicken feet is one of Cantonese cuisine's most famous and long standing shibboleths. We grew up eating this dim sum dish while believing its high levels of calcium and collagen are good for our skin and hair in addition to its luxurious mouthfeel and flavors. I'm not sure when it happened but my non-Asian brother-in-law's friend seems to have tapped into this dish and waits until we go out for dim sum to join us. Hong Kong Dim Sum House's chicken feet were succulent and the chicken skin soaked up the flavorful seasonings and spices. $6.95 -Char Siu Bao (Baked) 叉燒麵包: baked Chinese bbq pork buns are a classic at Chinese bakeries. The soft, slightly sweet and light bun envelopes a sweet-savory mixture of Chinese bbq sweet pork, spices and sauce. We liked that HKDSH used chopped or chunks of bbq pork like they do in Hong Kong or at more upscale domestic Chinese restaurants. $5.95 -Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce 蚝油芥蓝: the Chinese broccoli (gai lan) was blanched until tender yet crisp, then drizzled with sweet and savory oyster sauce (doesn't contain oysters). This vegetable is a classic dim sum side dish. The gai lan was cooked perfectly as its tender-crisp textures and brilliant green showed off its fresh quality. $8.95 -Sticky Rice Wrap in Lotus Leaf 糯米雞: lo mai gai (糯米雞) is another classic Cantonese dish found on dim sum tables. HKDSH's steamed sticky glutinous rice was studded with salted (duck?) egg yolk, Chinese sausage (lap cheong), ground pork, dried shrimp (POSSIBLY) and more. I wanted to deconstruct it more but the three others at my table gave me the "LOOK" to not play with my food. LOL. The sticky glutinous rice was well-flavored and filling as I shared one of rice wraps with my husband. $6.95 -Sh The portions were generous and very tasty. Granted, the presentation appeared to be more neighborhood or slightly rustic in comparision to other dim sum or houses that we've been to in the SGV, Honolulu or Hong Kong but I'm not complaining as the relaxing and delicious experience and value is worth its 5 stars to me. We hope they will expand while keeping the same great quality by the next time we return.

HIDDEN GEM ALERT! ‼ We are soooo glad that we found this place and it's such a gem ! There are about six tables inside and it does get packed quickly (you can also to to-go orders and they are quick as well). We got several of the classics in dim sum and every single one of them was so authentic and exceeded our expectation! The portion is big as well, especially the fried shrimp ball! To be honest, we knew it was going to be good when they are served with those traditional plates! Service was awesome! Will definitely be back!

As a first timer eating at this restaurant, I decided to why not take my mom here with me. She loves dim sum. Upon arrival I noticed it's a small corner restaurant hidden in between two big restaurants (one in front of it slightly covering the store front we ate at, and the other to the right side of the entrance). As we walked in, I noticed there were not too many seating areas (possibly a minimum of 36 seats). Luckily, it was not packed and we got seated right away. The menu wasn't too big as well. At first I thought the prices were high but the sizes of the dim sum made the price very reasonable. We ordered shrimp har gow, shrimp sui mai, shrimp and chive dumplings, pan fried noodles, chicken and Chinese sausage over rice, and lastly braised chicken feet. Again the sizes were big enough that my mom and I had to take some food home. The flavors were just right on every dish ordered, and all dishes were perfectly hot for customer to consume immediately. There were only two servers on the floor and they were quick. Both would always offer water when they noticed our cups were empty, both are polite and would spark a conversation to every customer that were either already seated or barely walking in. I highly recommend this place if you were in a small group no more than 4. Or if you would like to have a quick bite to eat. I would definitely go back again.

I've been looking for a new Dim Sum spot to try and after reading some reviews with people saying that this place had some of the best Dim Sum they ever had, you know I had to try it. I can now see why! it's a very small place with just a few small tables, but it definitely had big restaurant energy. The service was super friendly and the customer seemed to know the servers and the owners quite well...Definitely love that! Let's get into the Dim Sum...they definitely had most of my favorite. So you know I had to try them all...We got everything to go. Our favorites were the Sticky Rice Wrap, Chicken Feet, Shrimp and Chive Steam Dumpling, and Spare Ribs Rice. But my absolute favorites were the Fried Sugar Cane Shrimp and the Baked PIneapple Custard Bun, which was soooooo good and definitely the best I've ever had. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu and to get my favorites. You guys definitely need to check this place out when you're craving Dim Sum.

The food and service speak for themselves--everything comes out hot, fresh, and delicious! You order with a dry-erase marker on their laminated menu, and the food will comes out as it's made and piping hot. I kind of prefer this because then you will always be able to try each dish at its peak freshness rather than some dishes being cold by the time you try it if they brought everything out at once, so I definitely recommend trying to eat-in if possible. They will automatically bring you a pot of hot tea which is a $1 per person charge but it pairs nicely with the dim sum and cuts through all the carby/proteiny oiliness. The people who work there are very friendly, but the restaurant can get a little cramped when busy since it is a small space. We got the chicken feet and spare rib rice, BBQ pork rice roll (cheung fun), bean curd with meat, shrimp shumai, and turnip cake. Everything was on par with a great dim sum place in terms of flavor and texture, so my stomach was very happy. I highly recommend the turnip cake and shumai because they tasted homemade and were full of daikon/meat, respectively--the turnip cake was lightly crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the shumai were big, bouncy, and juicy. My fiance misses when this spot used to be Tasty Noodle House, but the cozy ambiance and great food quality has not changed. We will definitely be back again whenever we crave dim sum.

Free parking lot but it gets packed so you may have to street park. Located at the end of the plaza next to the hair place. No restrooms available so empty your bladder and wash your hands prior to eating, before you get there. Very cozy small place. Five tables available. Family owned and operated. Staff is very sweet. While you're waiting for a seat, you can go over the set menu and check off what you'd like to order to be more efficient. The food is already made so it comes out very fast. Delicious and comforting. Credit cards accepted. There is a per person charge for the hot tea. Great option for dim sum if you want to be in a more calm, quiet and not so packed environment. Or if you don't want to wait for a table, order to go. Prices range from $5.95 to 9.95 per item.

Very good dim sum in LA area! My friend was craving for dimsum, and this one appeared with 4.7 stars! Most dishes were pretty close to the one in HK. Hagao and rice roll were good, although skin can be even thinner and smoother. Chicken feet and dumplings were amazing. Best was the porridge, very flavourful and yummy. Will come back if I visit LA area again. The service was very good, the server was very attentive. Atmosphere was okay, small little restaurant. We felt hot after having porridge. Kudos to a family restaurant!

Cozy, casual spot! While it's not a sit down with the carts, the dim sum comes out fresh and we liked that you could just pick all that you wanted upfront! Siu Mai was our favorite, it's juicy, and flavorful! Porridge was standard, wish it came with crunchy wontons and green onions, but with the red vinegar and chili oil it's delish! We also got the chive dumplings (had chicken in it) which were a close second favorite bite along with the sugar cane shrimp. Turnip cake and shrimp roll were standard, nothing that different from the other places. Baked BBQ pork bun needed more filling, but the bun itself was sweet and tasty. Service was attentive and staff was nice! They made everyone feel very welcome, we could tell from how they were talking to the other families and groups around us. Since it's small, it can get busy, so takeout might be a better option? 7 orders was plenty for the two of us with leftovers. The chili oil is pretty special and tasty! Between Lunasia and Atlantic, it wasn't as busy for as long of a wait but still better than your standard "Togo" dim sum place which does make it pricier, but I think I'd go here next time I'm craving dim sum again!!

What a hidden gem. Tucked away in almost the corner of an unsuspecting plaza. This little dim sum spot is fire. The staff is extremely nice and efficient and the food is good. There was a lot of turnover while we were there, lots of people ordering take out because the restaurant is fairly small and a lot of people coming in to eat. That is a good sign. It is not a cart establishment, you order via menu and they bring everything out. We were lucky enough to grab a booth and were able to enjoy our brunch inside, sitting down. All of the items we chose were fresh and perfectly executed. The dumpling sizes themselves are large and filling. The sponge rice cake was divine. Come early because it gets crowded. We were there at 10:00 am and they already had many go to orders ready for pick up and the tables were filled. Thank you for a great dim sum experience. We will be back.

Hong Kong Dim Sum House is a small, family-run spot in San Gabriel that's perfect for a casual dim sum outing. It's located in a strip mall and doesn't have a lot of seating, so it's a good idea to get there early or be prepared for a wait. The dim sum here is fresh and tasty, with all the classic favorites like shrimp dumplings (har gow), pork dumplings (siu mai), and BBQ pork buns. Their chiu chow dumplings and BBQ pork rice rolls are particularly popular. One thing you definitely want to ask for is their house-made chili oil - it adds a great kick to any dish. Prices are reasonable, and the quality is impressive for the price. Most people tend to get takeout, but if you can snag a table, eating in is a fun experience. Parking can be tricky because the place is pretty popular, but it's worth the hassle if you're in the mood for some good dim sum. 5 Stars for the food. 3 Stars for the price (we're talking Lunesia or Chef Tony's price minus the ambience), ordered three items for $23 -- a bit of sticker shock considering in Taiwan last month I ordered the same exact three items for USD 3.50 But the quality here is undeniable. The fried shrimp balls are fresh, crispy and super juicy-- the best I've had in L.A. The Shiu mai and Har gow dumplings are also packed full of flavors and savory goodness -- no sauce needed (I added some garlic sriracha anyway). 2 weeks later, I went back and ordered -- Tofu skin wraps - made fresh, the best I've ever had. Shrimp chive dumpling - made fresh, also the best I've ever had. $15 for two items. You get the idea. Almost everything is made to order and incredibly fresh and tasty. There's no squid ink, no gold flakes, no gimmick, no ambience,... just the best dim sum in the San Gabriel Valley.

Delicious dim sum! We definitely ordered way more than we could finish, we just couldn't help ourselves. We were all craving chicken feet and we definitely satisfied that craving here. And the shop owners were just very nice. Everything here was extremely flavorful and delicious. All the shrimp dishes were juicy and very palatable. My favorite were the chicken feet and spare ribs in rice. They were both the most savory and rich of the dishes. Would highly recommend to anyone who just wants some good dim sum.

So I was craving some Dim Sum and checked on Yelp that this place has like a lot of positive reviews so I decided to check it out it. This restaurant is in the same plaza as Golden Deli but it's the last restaurant on the west side. Easily missed and hidden in a corner. If you have ever been to this plaza, you know that parking is difficult. So you can try your luck with the small parking lot or park on the street. Do not park across the street as your car may be towed. This restaurant is really small. I mean really really small. There's only a few tables and there is NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. Bring hand sanitizer with you to clean your hands before eating. So the menu is pretty sparse and doesn't contain a lot of things. One thing that I didn't like is that the pricing for this place is like at a full blown decent Dim Sum Restaurant and the quality doesn't match the pricing. If I'm paying like 7 dollars (on average) per dim sum item I might as well go to a normal dim sum place. The food itself is mediocre. The bean curd lacked flavor and it doesn't have that nice thick sauce. The Shiu Mai definitely not worth the 7 dollar price tag and they are super small. The beef rice noodles were okay. On the table there is only chili oil, they don't have the normal sambal sauce. They do have sirracha but you have to ask for it and the bottle is grossly dirty. The tea isn't free here so they charge you like at like a normal restaurant. The tea isn't anything fancy. I think it's black tea and they don't ask for you what tea you want in the beginning. They just drop a tea pot down and that's it. The inside isn't very nice either, it reminds me of the Dimsum to go places like Cha Cafe inside the SG Superstore but worse since the Dimsum isn't discounted and the tables are sticky. Overall, the Dimsum here is on the pricey side and for the price they charge I would rather go to a full blown Dimsum restaurant. The prices here are pretty much the same price as Dimsum restaurants like five star, and since HK Dimsum house uses a tier system, some dishes actually cost more than a regular Dimsum restaurant. They also charge for tea like a normal Dimsum restaurant but none of the amenities are there, like a restroom or different tea choices or the mustard/sambal sauce. Hard pass for me and wouldn't recommend.

I visited on a busy Sunday morning but didn't have to wait long given how fast turnover was. There are definitely several standout items here that HK Dim Sum House does wayyyy better than other dim sum restaurants in the 626. These include: - Shrimp Har Gow - Sweet Rice Cake - Chiu chow dumplings - Spare Ribs rice - Bean curd wrap Everything was extremely fresh! I was super impressed with the har gow (the outside wrapper was made SO well) and sweet rice cake (a difficult dim sum item to get right). The owners are very friendly! They were slammed with orders but really took the time for everyone.

Dumplings were big portions. You know how sometimes you bite into a shrimp and chive dumpling and it's too small or the portions are off? Not here! There's limited seating like maybe 8 tables at this mom and pop spot. Best for a table of two or takeout.

This place was prett-ty good. I had some chicken feet, shumai, rice rolls, bean curd something. Everything was really well prepared and tasty. Service is fast, the spot was clean. The server was cool. They have hot mustard! And aren't stingy with it. They've also got a really nice chile oil that I've never seen before. It was all blended to be silky soft, instead of typical chile flakes. It was interesting, unique and flavorful. Good spot!

Food was fantastic overall. - siu mai was 9/10. I LOVED how it has a strong white black pepper taste - baked char siu bun 7/10, felt a little dry for me - curstard bun 6/10, lacked flavor - shrimp roll 10/10, the rice noodle I thought would taste cheap from photos prior to coming here, but it was fresh and solid where it was cooked just right. Places are normally mushy or overcooked from my experience - pineapple bun 7/10, pretty good but felt flat to me, looked more like a unique one that you don't see at bakeries - dan tat 7/10, more crust than filling - turnip cake 9/10, same with shrimp roll where it was cooked just right - lotus wrap 7/10, not as sticky and filling was okay, could've had more - mixed rice 6/10, too much rice than meat ratio - congee 7/10, personally not a congee fan in general. Runny but flavorful! - pot stickers 9/10, great flavor and fried just right to the right level of crisp - har gow 9/10, not a huge fan of these since they're normally bland in flavor. Presentation for these looked really good and big in size

Hands down the best dim sum I've ever had! Knowing that this place may be busy on a Sunday, we woke up early and got there right before they opened. The owner was so welcoming and sat us down in one of the bigger booths. He gave us laminated menus where we can check off what we wanted. I love that the menu had pictures, as well as Chinese and English names! We ordered 7 dishes: - Shrimp & Chive Steam Dumpling ($6.95) - Shrimp Shiu Mai ($6.95) - Shrimp Har Gow ($6.95) - Shrimp Rice Roll ($6.95) - Red Bean Sesame Ball ($5.95) - Baked Pineapple Custard Bun ($5.95) - Bean Curd Wrap Meat ($6.95) All the dumplings had so much filling and were plump and juicy! The rice roll was so delicate, with huge pieces of shrimp inside and just enough sauce drizzled on top. Their sesame balls were some of the best I've ever had - the outside had a roasted sesame flavor with a satisfying crunch and the inside had a smooth and lightly sweetened paste and red bean filling. The pineapple custard bun had the perfect layer of topping with warm custard on the inside. From the friendly staff, authentic dim sum, to the clean atmosphere, this is a dim sum spot worth waking up early for! There are only 5 tables so get here early so you can eat everything fresh at the restaurant.

Stopped in the 626 to pick up food. I guess I expected really good dim sum, even from a take out place. Expectations might have too high on my part. It was good but not great.. Siu mai and ha how were just ok, lacked flavor and ha gow pei was too thick. Spareribs lacked flavor. The gnaw mai gai was pretty good. Baked char siu bao was good, nice ratio or filling to bun. Dan tat was pretty flaky but crust to filling ratio was off, needed more custard. Gai lan was a bit overcooked. Char siu So were pretty good. The guys working were nice, service fast and efficient.

The dim sum here reminds me of the ones I have tried in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. Most dim sum places in LA can be too oily or heavy for my taste, even though they are delicious. This place, however, offers a flavorful dim sum without that feeling of heaviness. For parking, they share a parking lot with some other businesses. But there's also a lot of street parking around the area. My favorites, so far, are the shrimp har gow, shrimp shiu mai, shrimp & chive dumplings, and the fried sugar cane shrimp. Don't even get me started with the shrimp har gow. It's plump and filled with a good portion of the shrimp! The meat in the shiu mai is juicy and smooth. Moreover, the shrimp & chive dumplings had generous shrimps and chives, unlike other places that usually skimp on the shrimp. The fried sugar cane shrimp was not oily- crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Their pan-fried noodle (no meat) was nicely charred, and the portion was quite generous for around $10. The price is higher than many other dim sum places. However, the superior food quality & taste- along with the generous portion do justify the cost for me. Moreover, the service here is fast, and the workers are also friendly! They get crowded quickly, but the workers are still welcoming and have a good attitude. It's not easy to find that in other dim sum restaurants. I hope they maintain the service and the food quality! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

My friends and I came here craving for dim sum mid afternoon, and we were unexpectedly blown away by this place. The owner, Mr. Ciu, was extremely friendly and accommodating. He told us that he opened this restaurant during retirement to keep himself busy and had the servers (and himself included) ask if anything else was needed every now and then. The food was delicious and service was quick. All of our food came out in about less than 10 minutes. The restaurant is small and parking may be slightly difficult in the plaza on the weekends, but overall, I'm happy to have found this place and will be back because of the great hospitality as well. We were given sesame red bean balls on the house too! Disclaimer on the photos: Our group was so hungry we tackled the stacked plates immediately but I took what I could to showcase the deliciousness!

Solid dim sum place, would highly recommend! We usually like to go to Full House in Arcadia, but now that I've discovered this place, I would only come here now. Came on Saturday at noon, and not super busy at all! There's only about 7 tables total inside the restaurant, but I love the cozy feel. Parking can be difficult... So just be patient with trying to find a spot. Ordering was easy! They have a laminated menu where you just need to write down how many orders you'd want - pictures are included too! I love the convenience. They speak English and canto. Service was exceptional and the owner is so sweet! We brought our baby who was very entertained by the fun staff. Prices are standard, not as cheap as you would think for a small restaurant, but quality and service was worth it. Food: best shrimp har gow that I've tried (and I've tried a lot!). Shrimp Cheung fun, spare ribs, bean curd wrap, and pineapple bolo bao were also very solid. The pan fried noodles are a must -had soo much wok flavor. Can't wait to come back next time, will make this our standard go to dim sum place!

Great dim sum, service and portions. Stopped by for a quick take out lunch as I was short on time, but they had a table open so I sat down to order. I tried the fried sugar cane shrimp, siu mai, shrimp roll and pan fried dumpling. I though the prices were a bit high for dim sum, but the portions were larger than traditional dim sum restaurants and quality was better too. Definitely a place to take friends if you want to try different dishes. I had to take half home, but was happy I tried every dish. Service was pretty quick for the steamed items. The fried ones took an extra minute or two, but I had all my dishes in less than 10 mins and was out in 30! The table side chili doesn't look like much, but it's a must. Great flavor and a nice kick.

Very small restaurant with about 6 tables so the wait could be long depending on when you go. Service was friendly and everything came out quickly. I enjoyed the pan fried dumplings and the chive cake but I've had better turnip cake. Overall my dim sum experience was good and I'd definitely head back again. One complaint was that they serve hot tea without asking so I assumed it was complimentary. When the bill came I was charged $2 which wasn't enough to make a fuss about but it did bother me. A pet peeve of mine is sliding in something on the bill without a heads up. If I would have known, I would opt out, I'd prefer water over hot tea. Parking was easy. There is a very busy lot but street parking in the neighborhood was easy.

I forgot this place was in the golden deli parking lot. So the parking g lot is so busy. This restaurant is tiny so there's a little bit of a wait. We ordered the food to go and I think it's slightly cheaper too. Out in less than 10 mins. People in charge were friendly. All were plump and filled with meat. Definitely recommend this place. We got the Siew mai(4) 5/5 juicy Har gow.(4) 5/5 liked the ginger or something that was in it. Pan fried dumplings (3) 4.5/5

Came here on a Saturday for lunch since we was in the area, luckily there was a few table available because after we sat down, there was a rush of people who came in and had to wait for tables since this place is very small and can only accommodate limited amount of people. The shu mai and shrimp har gow were good. The Turnip cake was amazing 5/5. The baked bbq buns had a good texture for the bread. The egg tart was amazing 5/5, the crust was flakey and good amount of sweetness. Overall, everything was good, I would come back here if i was in the area.

Excellent dim sum with quick and very friendly service. Biggest serving of juicy steam pork I ever was served at a dim sum restaurant. Excellent plump and freshly made dumplings. Don't let the small size of this place fool you. If they're seats are full get carry out and eat at on the lawn of the nearby San Gabriel Mission. I am sorry I live 500mi away but will be back.

The food was soooo good and the service was really fast! My favorite dish was the turnip cakes and they were one of the best I've ever had. They have a menu board u check off with what you'd like to order with pictures that follow. I thought that was really cool and convenient so there's no confusion on what you ordered! The staff was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is rlly small so unless ur a party of 2 or get lucky, takeout might be better. The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't know the tea wasn't free. They give you tea when you sit so I assumed it was free, I thought it was part of the dining experience. It's only $1 for every pot filled so not a big deal but it would've been nice to have been told I was gonna get charged for it

A FIVE cause it's close to my house, convenient, service was great...their hot mustard is legit and it was good!!! Don't pass this place up just cause it looks like a little hole in the wall!! These are the best restaurants!! Their sweet rice cake reminds me of my grandma...so good!!

A tiny "hole in a wall" Dim Sim spot! Food was solid , chili sauce and hot tea authentic. Service was great. Big parking lot but was busy during lunch so found some street parking near by. Will be coming again

Best dim sum we have had since returning to So Cal. They have shu mai, hargow, rice noodles and my favorite sticky rice lotus leaf. This place is small and the weekend wait lines are never ending. However , the quality of the Dim Sum is outstanding. They dont have an extensive menu. What they do have is good quality! If you want dim sum on a weekend, ots best to place a go order or be prepared to wait. We go during the week day when getting a seat is a possbility. The staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable.

It's a small dim sum restaurant with around 7/8 tables. The owner is running the restaurant by himself so the service is better than must of dim sum restaurants. Kinda pricey ($7 and up for one dim sum dish) compared to other dim sum restaurants. Since it's a small restaurant so the selection is limited.

My daughter and I were craving dim Sum. We looked on Yelp and we found Hong Kong Dim Sum House. The restaurant is a mom &pop owned one. They have indoor seating.The parking lot is okay since they shared it with other businesses. We found out that they close at 5, so we placed an order to go. We ordered the following: - shrimp Har Gaw - shrimp Shu Mai - Shrimp rice roll - Turnip cake - Bakef BBQ bun - Abalone chicken porridge - Red bean sesame ball The food was outstanding. This is the BEST dim sum place I have ever tried. I am so happy to find this hidden gem in San Gabriel. If you are looking for an excellent taste and speedy service, Hong Kong Dim Sum House is the right place

I went to get some takeout on MLK day. Only one person was manning the counter. He was stressed but he begged the customers walking in for patience with short staff. I got har gau, beef rice rolls and daikon cake. But it took me 15 min wait at least to get my order. The taste of the food was authentic Hong Kong and quite delicious. But a notch below NBC. The portions were larger. Daikon cake tasted more floury with little daikon. Har gau had large fillings of shrimp. Beef rice roll was cold sitting on their counter so I waited til home to eat it. It tasted meaty without the crunchy feel of water chestnuts in NBC. There were quite a number of people dining in or doing takeout a so business has expanded since I visited a year ago.

Overall 3.5/5 Food: 3.25/5 Service: 3.5/5 Interior: 2.9/5 Was in the area so decided to stop by and dine-in for some dim sum. Their service is great! They didn't rush us, they were very patient and gracious especially given that we came in a last minute. The food came out relatively fast and it was good! Food ranking in order of taste: #1 Black bean spareribs #2 shiu mai #3 yu choy #4 sesame balls #5 har gow #6 porridge. The sesame balls were especially excellent. If you want a place that speaks English, can order your dim sum by the menu, low maintenance with no hassle, in and out dining then this is your place.

What a treat! We took some out-of-town guests to the Huntington Library from our home in Thousand Oaks, and looked for dim sum for an afternoon snack. a Yelp search turned up Hong Kong Dim Sum House, relatively close (about 2 miles away from the Huntington). After a short drive, and a quick look around the crowded parking lot for a space, my friend and I went in to the small shop at the inner corner of the "L"-shaped strip. The picture menu was offered (though we knew the names of the items we were looking for; the menu showed what was available), and we ordered, then sat at a small table near the counter. A couple other tables were occupied at 2:30 pm on this Saturday, and one table was vacant. Small place! Unfortunately, we had a commute back to T.O. that was a little over an hour. Fortunately, the dim sum was still absolutely delicious when we got there. Recommendation: get a table and eat the dim sum there! Plusses: Delicious dim sum, friendly staff, pretty good prices. Minuses: Hard to park, somewhat limited selection, tiny place.

We ordered the cha siu baos, turnip cake, chicken feet, shrimp rice rolls, siu mai, ha gow, and the spare ribs. The food was so warm and fresh. It's really hard to choose a favorite but it was probably the chicken feet. Everything was so good and the host serving us was super friendly and fast! It's kind of small inside so there was a bit of a wait, but honestly so worth it. It had such a homey and comfy vibe inside. I will definitely be back! It's just a matter of time. If there's something you want but don't remember the name of, don't worry. They give you a menu with words and pictures for you to mark off what you want.

This small family run restaurant has fast become one of your favorite dim sum spots in the 626. Located in the same plaza as Bopo and Golden Deli, parking can be a challenge at times, especially on the weekends. The standard dim sum fare such as the shrimp har gow, shu mai, and spare ribs are always juicy and flavorful and are items which we order pretty much on every visit. The fried sugar cane shrimp is a unique dish that is also highly recommended. The shrimp is juicy and comes with a nice, slightly sweet, crunchy crust. It's served with a sweet chili sauce that really elevates the flavor. Round out the meal with an order of yu choy with garlic sauce. The serving size is generous and the garlic sauce compliments the veggies nicely. Lastly, save some room for the pineapple buns and red bean sesame balls.

Amazing dim sum, I seriously have not had dim sum of this caliber in maybe a decade. This is the homey corner dim sum takeaway or plastic chair quick service stand vibe from Hong Kong. The food here is amazing and the staff friendly and accommodating. Dishes of note are the shrimp paste balls, just a quality of shrimp and hand beaten bouncy texture few can match. Siu mai, the siu mai here hits all the marks of a quality dumpling, fresh snappy shrimp, flavorful and soft pork without any chewy connective tissue, fragrant mushrooms, silky but unbroken wrapper. What sets theirs apart is a rich aroma of conpoy (dried scallops) permeating the entire siu mai mixture which elevates it above the competition. Little tins of steam rice, a dim sum classic from my memories of the 90's that have largely disappeared. Here not only is it available but they do it right, with quality rice grans that soak up all the delicious flavors of the meats and toppings on top. All of the dim sum here is of sound quality and you can't go wrong on any of them, the dining area is rather small and there are limited seats and therefore there is usually a wait which is the only downside of this gem. Regardless I would say without hesitation the food is worth the wait!

There aren't too many dim sum spots in San Gabriel (as opposed to the neighboring cities), so this mom and pop shop is such a little gem! There are no traditional dim sum carts since the restaurant is so small (maybe 6 tables?!). The restaurant is located in the corner of a plaza, which may not be visible from the main street. The plaza has a decent amount of parking but can be busy during prime hours. Street parking is available if necessary. Made a reservation for a large group (9) on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was very accommodating, despite being such a small shop. Upon arrival, we only waited 10-15 minutes before we were seated. We ordered a bunch items: har gaw, shu mai, cheung fun, bolo bao, bbq pork buns, spare ribs, chicken feet, century egg porridge, turnip cake, lo mai gai, and more! My favorites were the shu mai and cheung fun. The shu mai was juicy and tender, and the cheung fun was really silky. Overall, food is comparable to other dim sum shops. Even though there are only two servers (one of which is the owner himself), the service is speedy! The owner is also really friendly and banters with customers regularly. The food is a little pricier than larger dim sum restaurants, but likely because they aren't able to get as many customers as a larger shop.

Hong Kong Dim Sum House is a very small dim sum spot and I'd have to say that it's my favorite spot in the 626 area. They don't have the traditional cart rolling around since it's such a small spot Everything we ordered: shrimp har gow, spare ribs, shu mai, rice roll, turnip cake were fantastic. It all tasted like they made them in smaller batches.
