The 38 Best Restaurants in Dublin, Ireland | Eater

"Tucked into a tiny, fast-moving space, Hong Kong Wonton is all about flavor. Eva Pau’s family-run operation keeps the 15-seat dining room buzzing with Hong Kong staples. The chicken congee is bolstered with ginger and a crisp dough stick for dipping, while pork and prawn wontons swim in an intensely savory broth, the delicate wrappers barely holding in the juicy filling. Must-try dish: Don’t skip the drinks, particularly the nutty, coconut red bean milk." - Corinna Hardgrave

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the Hong Kong-style pork chop with fried rice, and the portion was very generous with plenty of meat. I also had the coconut red bean drink—it was delicious, creamy, and full of coconut flavor. The Hong Kong-style French toast was simply incredible. On top of that, the staff were extremely kind and interactive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend! :)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say it offers an exceptionally authentic taste of Hong Kong cuisine. I tried the Won Ton Noodles, Five-Spice Beef Brisket Noodles, Hong Kong Style Pork Chop Rice, Red Bean Ice, and Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. The Won Ton Noodles stood out with its incredibly umami broth, clearly benefiting from the authentic use of 大地魚粉. The won tons themselves were a delight, made with fresh shrimp, combining both whole pieces and crushed shrimp paste to create a perfect balance of texture. The Five-Spice Beef Brisket Noodles were equally impressive. The beef brisket was well-marinated and stewed to perfection—tender yet full of flavour. The subtle hint of ginger in both noodle dishes added an extra layer of depth, enhancing the overall experience. A special mention goes to the noodles themselves. It’s rare to find this level of authenticity in Europe, and they’ve managed to recreate the classic Hong Kong-style noodles better than most places I’ve tried. The real star of the meal was the Hong Kong Style Pork Chop Rice. This is, hands down, the best version I’ve had—surpassing even the usual benchmarks of Café de Coral and Fairwood in Hong Kong. The pork chop was tender inside with a crispy exterior, and the sauce, paired with the fried rice, was simply unbeatable. When it comes to authenticity, this dish deserves a perfect 10/10. The Red Bean Ice was rich and full of flavour, without the watered-down taste that you sometimes get elsewhere. The Hong Kong Style Milk Tea had a robust tea flavour. While it would be even better if the condensed milk was thoroughly stirred before serving, this is just a minor detail that doesn’t diminish my high regard for this spot. For anyone craving a truly authentic Hong Kong dining experience—from the food and ambiance to the décor—this restaurant is an absolute must-visit!

I love Chinese food. I had lived in Hongkong for years and food I had enjoyed there would be my point of reference. I was looking forward to the trip to HK Wonton in Dublin. It was a horrible gastronomic experience 😔. I had the pork and shrimp dumpling noodles soup, pak choi vegs on the side. Both noodles and dumplings were not freshly made, tasted like frozen food. The soup’s broth tasted like it used granules for flavour not even a hint of pork/beef/chicken parts. I won’t go back again. There are other better restaurants to have Chinese food in to satisfy one’s cravings. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Excellent service. Great ambiance! However the taste is just average for Asian food around Dublin. Prices are a tad higher than other noodle places. Beef Brisket Noodles - thin noodles are amazing! Took me back to Hong Kong. The beef however, is bland and chewy, and lacking flavor. Broth is average. The portion is too little considering the price. Wontons - it’s alright. It’s overpriced. It was a good lunch for a one off and it’s safe to say I will never come again.

We Ordered chicken and veg wonton noddle soup and chicken and veg lo mein and the chicken was raw and not cooked properly. As we went to tell them that the chicken was not properly cooked, they told us it was their coking technique. Then another customers got completely raw uncooked chicken (pink in colour) and complained but the staff claimed again that that is their cooking technique, until we showed them the raw chicken. We wanted to get a refund but the staff working there gave us attitude and terrible manners in acknowledging the problem and major health risk, and refused to pay us back. Eventually after the other customer complained as well we got our money back.

Food really good, unexpected to be that authentic from a Hong Kong person myself. Highly recommend Pork fried rice and satay sauce beef noodle, 9/10 to what you get in HK. Price reasonable and staffs are really friendly. The only downside is you have to bring the empty dishes from the previous diner yourself, but I guess this is what you expect in a busy restaurant . Highly recommended 👌🏻

The food is very delicious I have been there two times so far. The first time I had signature Prawn and pork wonton with thin noodles and second time Hong Kong style pork chop with fried rice and the Hong Kong french toast both are tasty and I also had the coffee milk tea which is so nice 🤤 the only negative point of the restaurant for me it’s the space which is quite small and They don't organize the line so people can get a table in order of arrival
