As if the name didn't good it away, this is an Asian Supermarket. They have a huge variety of items you won't find at your local grocery store. A lot of things I had never even heard of. Their seafood selection is unmatched, the fruits and vegetables are great, and they even have different styles of cooking instruments that you don't find in an everyday kitchen here in the states... unless you visit mine... 😆 their staff is a great help from letting me know when to expect a fresher item I may be looking at, to explaining how to use different items in dishes. If you're not dead set on only eating American style foods, I know a few, head over and make something great tonigh. You won't be disappointed.

3/22/25: My go-to to Asain store--Hong Phat - has lots of food products, kitchen items, and lots of other items and products to choose from! - Parking is big, except this store is always busy. More parking is available in the back. Overall, I am happy with the selections available at this store! 😊

This 5/5 review solely for the Pâté Gan (liver spread) from the refrigerated deli near the front. Oh My Goodness... I finally found something to Yelp about here! I've been a longtime, low-key regular at Hồng Phát for all things Vietnamese and random grocery needs, but this time I found my reason to shout about it. After what felt like a lifetime of hovering and debating, I finally went for it and picked up their Pâté Gan (liver spread) from the refrigerated deli case near the front. Let me tell you: SPREADABLE GOLD! 80Z hand-filled container for $5.95 and worth every single bite. Listed ingredients? Pork Liver, Pork Fat, Pork. (We all know there's more in there, but I'm not here to investigate, just to celebrate.) As a pâté-obsessed Bánh Mì DIY, this blew me away. - Texture: Silky and spreadable perfection. - Taste: Deep, rich, and satisfying without being overly gamey. - Smell: Divine, for those who love a good pâté, you know what I mean. This is officially my new go-to pâté source, alongside my other favorites scattered along 82nd Ave. TIP: Since it's hand-packed from a larger batch, look for condensation inside the container. It can give you a clue about how fresh it is and how long you've got before the quality dips. Don't just rely on the "Sell By" label. Honestly, I still can't believe I slept on this for so long with my skepticism. If you're even mildly into pâté or making your own Bánh Mì at home: run, don't walk.

OMG! This place has great fish, noodles, to go lunch and I found tamarind for a Caribbean dish.

Google
This market is a fantastic location to find frozen fish to suit your dish. The fresh produce is fantastic, and well priced. Great selection of ingredients for a wide variety of Asian cuisine. My absolute favorite part is the hot food and ready to eat meals.

Google
A bit of a weird smell when you enter. Shelves are stocked well. It's a one stop to get the seasoning and certain items you won't find in your local grocery store. Cashiers are fast and will get you out fast so don't be distracted by how long the lines are. The smell of the store is my reason for 4 stars. It did smell weird. Would still shop here thou for the items that aren't at local stores.

Google
Fresh Fish. Good prices on pork and beef parts used in Asian Cooking. Several of these Asian Markets. This one delivers the best BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS

Reece Murata

Google
No, do not get your "fresh" seafood here. All packaged fish are grey/yellow tinted and have milky/dark eyes which indicate bad quality. Even salmon fillets are not vibrant orange. All the seafood just looks bad and is very questionable in terms of safe for consuming. Go to a fish monger and pay more for better quality like Portland Fish Market, New Seasons, or even H Mart on Belmont.

Yelp
I live a few hours away in Bend so when I make a trip to PDX, Hong Phat is a must-go for me when I need to stock up the pantry with Asian goods. The best part about this market isn't just their massive selection of frozen foods, fresh groceries, or pantry staples - it's the deli. I LOVE grabbing premade foods from the deli area. For $8, you get a huge container of rice rolls with minced pork and nuoc cham sauce. They also have the Vietnamese baloney and head cheese. They also have a good selection of breads to enjoy. Did I mention they're probably the most reasonably priced spot? They have been consistently cheaper than other places in town. It's a win-win trip for all!

Yelp
Here's a quick tidbit: Hong Phat Market is my go-to for a fast, delicious and exceptionally priced lunch. Are you ready for this? The deal of the century is their $5 Banh Mi combo which includes a 12-inch sandwich packed with flavor, as well as a Thai tea or Vietnamese coffee. This is an UNBEATABLE value and always hits the spot.

Yelp
I like this Asian grocery! I believe they claim it is the largest and most popular Asian grocery store in Portland. They bring in tropical fruits from Hawaii and overall have a huge produce section with herbs and vegetables. I haven't purchased any of their meat or fish. But I do like their snack selection, condiments/sauces, as well as their grab and go prepared foods.

Yelp
I supported this store, because I read they have a Grand Opening, and we missed it, since we weren't home. (We've gone too many in my neighborhoods and around the vicinity in the past 52 years). There are rows and rows of noodles! Cookies! Herbs! But, sadly, there was no Filipino-made products, except one that I understood what it was. Also negative, was to see chocolates from Austria, that expires end of this month! We found one, expires a year from now. (We bought it and LOVED it, we might stop by again, just for chocolates!) We didn't find other things we normally buy at an Asian store. (They have it on Burnside/82nd). We also found some pastries/breads, that we normally buy at an Asian store. We did also bought several fruits! Other than that, it's fairly new, and the staff were busy filling up empty shelves (probably an overwhelming customers from Friday). We did stopped at Fubon (82nd, too), to buy others we couldn't find at Hong Phat. We found them there! I noticed all the fresh flowers, from the Grand Opening! It must have been a huge turned out! I'm glad.

Yelp
Great assortment of hard to find asian food items with decent prices. They have hot food items at the fron to the left. Ban mi sandwhiches and fried chicken, pork and pork belly. I like going to get an assortment of sauces like fish sauces and or various vinegars, produces items like mushrooms, and thai basil, kabocha squash or other exotic fruits and veggies or you can opt for snacky things like mochi balls for tea, ramen or even chop sticks and plates. This place is great.

Yelp
Wandered by after a movie, and they have almost everything! The market is spacious with a broad range of products. They also have a food court section, though a good amount of those offerings are also inside the supermarket. Keep in mind that the categories for different aisles repeat so if you don't find something in one, fear not, it may be nearby!
google avatar

Tj S.

Yelp
Nice staff. I love the variety. Would love to try the hot food they make in the store. The char siu looked delicious. Wish they had more vegetarian dumplings though. The aisles were a little tight but I loved the small market vibe anyways. Great experience.

Yelp
Great place for a quick Banh mi sandwich lunch. Good selection of asian vegetables, staples and other foods. Good parking, easy access from freeway.

Yelp
got some snacks at Hong Phat, normally I'm not disappointed, but I don't recommend these...

Yelp
I love their food court. They make fresh sandwiches everyday with a free drink for $5.

Yelp
My go to Asian store. Fair prices & wide selection. I always find what I need here. Workers are always there in case you need help. Nice & clean. Good & fresh produce.

Yelp
Love my asian markets, but this one's special it's huge and has everything produced: snacks, spices, gifts, etc. THEY EVEN HAVE TARO AND TARO LEAF!!!!! FRESH. If you live locally or just visiting and need a special ingredient, go there. Even if you need produce, they are fresh, smell good, and so clean. The people are nice too.
google avatar

Kristen K.

Yelp
Nice selection. Great prepared hot food. Service lacks but that's typical for Asian mkts. Dingy store but good selection. I prefer their Prescott store but it's much smaller

Yelp
I've lived in portland for over thirty years. I just started going here and highly recommend. Why? Amazing produce. You want unique and fresh. And affordable. This is the place. Seafood. Massive amounts. Not necessarily the freshest but very affordable. Asian dry goods. You name it. Japanese kit kats(worth the trip alone). Curry. Spices. Noodles. Oils. Etc. In this inflationary time this place is very affordable and it's worth the trip.

Yelp
Stopped by yesterday- so much on offer it was a frenzy: a pound of pork belly ( try it out marinated in the char sui packet they sell it's sooooooo good), some soup bones we use for raw dog treats (wayyy cheaper than Safeway or Freddie's) and some to go - lunch fare - still our favorite can't wait til the Eastport location opens up ( July I'm told)...I added a picture: grilled chicken, pork belly banh mi, fresh shrimp spring rolls, fresh sugarcane juices!
google avatar

Yelp
Food born illness waiting to happen! So much ready to eat food sitting on tables, rotting produce, yet stuff that doesn't need refrigeration is in coolers!?! Unorganized mess of grocery aisles.

Yelp
There's a smaller Hong Phat on Prescott, much closer to my house, and while it is a cute little shop, it's a pale shadow of this much larger location on 82nd. Like Fubonn further south, this super-sized specialty supermarket is among the best in its class, catering to its customers and carrying items that are not found in "traditional" (re: American) grocery stores. While I've been here several times, and will often detour specifically out of the way to shop here, my wife had never been. That changed on the way home from a recent dinner at a restaurant not far away. I told her I wanted to stop in and grab a few things, but she was a bit tired, and wasn't up for the additional stop. However, when we arrived, she changed her tune, and wanted to see what was inside. I don't think she had any idea what she was in for! I only stopped in for about $10 worth of stuff. We ended up spending about $80, as she found more and more things she wanted to try! And as we were in a bit of a rush, we only perused about a third of the store! I shudder to think how much we'll spend the next time we come here! Maybe I should continue to shop here alone!? Kidding, of course. Alright, enough with the anecdotal nonsense! What actually makes Hong Phat special? Fresh (massive!) produce, some of it exotic to Western palates; snacks, sauces, spices and seasonings that encompass the entire Asian oeuvre; a hot deli (Lotus Kitchen) and bakery; teas, sake, soda, soju and other delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; all the best rice and ramen choices; seafood galore (want a whole frozen octopus? it's here!); cooking supplies and utensils; frozen dumplings, shumai and more! It's all here! Well, almost. Like every other Asian supermarket that isn't Uwajimaya or H-Mart, you're not going to find the high quality cuts of meat like Kobe, Wagyu, etc. For some reason, those appear to be the exclusive purview of Japanese grocery chains. They do have just about every other cut and part of chicken, pork and beef imaginable, though. I just wish someone, anyone else, would step up to the plate and carry these unparalleled portions of protein! Why is it so hard to find?! Other than what I mentioned above, there's very little negative to say about Hong Phat. Sure, it can feel a little cluttered at times, due to the presence of half-opened boxes, acting as makeshift shelves, gumming up aisles or endcaps, or floors that seem... less pristine than other places. But all of those things are minor nit-picks for what is an otherwise incredible store with an astounding variety of quality products from around the globe. Only by comparison with the true titans of the Asian grocery world (Uwajimaya and H-Mart) does Hong Phat fall a little short of perfection, and even that is mostly due to the privilege of being spoiled for choice here in Portland. Hong Phat is a winner, no matter how you slice it...although I wish they'd slice up some thin strips of beef for sukiyaki, once in a while.

Yelp
This store is really shaping up. Today was my second time in and I tried two kinds of Bahn mi. Very good. They also have a good selection of pre-made meals and lots of baked goods.

Yelp
Great service and produce I love the fresh boba and shrimp rolls I also love to buy the jelly sticks

Yelp
Great prices for your vegetables and Asian needs. Parking lot is always full but people are always coming and going so it won't be long until you find a spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Whenever I make a grocery run that involves Asian ingredients, I will always come here for it. The drive is worth it. All meats are packaged. Leafy vegetables are all packaged as well. Fruits are an open concept. Everything is organized and placed for easy pickings. You'll find everything you need when it comes to making Asian cuisine. The hot food to go section has amazing selection as well if you want something to eat right away. Covid-19 guidelines are established. Staff are fast and friendly.

Lan L.

Yelp
Jack fruit was listed .95/lb but I got charged 1.25/lb. That is just bad practice. Be aware of their pricing and double-check your items.

Yelp
Grocery shopping and fun? Yep. If it's a trip to Hong Phat Food Center, an experience to be enjoyed! Walking the aisles awakens every one of your senses - sight, smell, touch, sound and taste. Of all the Asian Markets in Portland, and there are a lot, Hong Phat is my hands down favorite. I love walking up and down all of the aisles marveling at the volume and variety of items. This place all the prerequisites: - 50 pound bags of rice. - Coconut milk by the case. - Fruit the size of basketballs. - Huge produce section. - Entire aisle of various kinds of dry noodles - Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese. - Aisles and aisles of soy sauce, fish sauce, chili paste, etc. - Seafood of every kind! - Meat department with every part of the animal sold. - Hot and cold prepared foods. - Asian bakery section. - Woks, kitchen supplies, teapots. - Dried fish & shrimp chips, mocha & pocky snacks, dried fruits & gummies. Recently I have taken several Asian cooking classes - Chinese dumplings, pad won sen, saag paneer, ramen, pho - so trips to an Asan Market are a must. I've been to the popular Fubonn on SE 82nd and Uwajimaya in Beaverton, well as several small stores, but once I experienced Hong Phat, it's become my go-to place. I'm obsessed with a Fried Chili Paste by Por Kwan! A little goes a long way, and this from someone who likes food spicy! When I don't have the time to make my own dough for dumplings, I buy the premade wonton and potsticker wraps which makes it super easy to whip up a batch of potstickers, wonton soup or steamed dumplings. YouTube videos helped me perfect the folds! In the produce area I buy Bok Choy for a third the price of American grocery stores. Same with staples like onions, carrots and scallions. The fruits are fascinating to me and I pick up something new to try every visit. I still can't do the Dorian, which I've seen, I mean smelled, when I was in Shanghai, so I stay away from that! I'm addicted to the mung bean noodles. They are gluten free so makes entertaining a group of friends with diverse food allergies a breeze. I make a vegan stir fry with these noodles and then add scrambled eggs and chicken to half for my friends who eat meat, myself included. The hot and cold prepared area has so many options! The green papaya salad comes like a kit. The fish sauce dressing is salty, sweet and hot, delicious with the crisp papaya. I buy the cooked Chinese pork and dice it up, along with carrots, onions and whole peas for a quick fried rice dinner. There is usually a variety of steamed bao; I must have pointed to the wrong shelf because I thought I was biting into a Chinese pork bao and it was a different kind of meat entirely plus a qual egg! As I said, always an adventure! There are times I wish I could communicate better with some of the workers when I am trying to find something, but if I keep searching, or ask another customer, I usually can find what I need. Avoid this place on weekends or right before dinner as it's insane! Picture shopping on Christmas Eve. Aisles packed with people, cars following people to get a parking space, long check out lines. Not fun. I go late mornings during the week and can breeze around from aisle to aisle no problem.

Yelp
We were on our way to my cousin's when I notice this market. Since We had time to kill, We decided to check it out! It was a Saturday afternoon, right after thanksgiving. The parking lot was busy but we didn't struggle to find a parking. To be honest, I was quite impressed with the selections of the produce and bakery items. The store was clean and spacious, and the prepared food items looked fresh and delicious. I purchased some fresh basil, lime and coconut water, and the price was good. We also tried a sample of their green coconut waffle, and it was so goood! I'm definitely coming back for more cooked items because everything looked yum!

Yelp
I love this store. Dragonfruit! Fresh mint! Fried tofu! Crispy Chinese hot sauce with garlic! Plus fresh baked wild desserts that will impress your friends and delight your kiddos. Thanks HF. Yes

Yelp
This is a great Asian grocery store. There is a good selection, and everything is well presented. I enjoyed walking the aisles and getting some inspiration. Check it out!

Yelp
The selection is great, prices are good and staff were mostly helpful. Lots of fresh looking fruit and veggies. We were there for specific items and found them. The pork buns were good. We will shop there again.

Yelp
Wal-What? Forget you white store. I've been driving past Hong Phat Food Center for years. I moved even farther away from HPFC and had fewer reasons to be in this neighborhood. Then I started seeing a new Chiropractic Doctor and found myself in this neighborhood again. I've been looking for Gochujang at all the white stores with no luck. Smart foods wholesale had a 6# container but that's a bit much. Just down the street is HPFC. Score. Having never been here, I had no idea where things are but with a little looking around I found a 17oz. container. I didn't find Korean Radish but they had Daikon Radish. Kimchi is about to go down. I couldn't wait to tell my Wife about HPFC. We are definitely going back. I'll probably need help once in a while as not all products are in English. That's fine. I love learning about other cultures. If it wasn't quarantine time, I would have walked around this store for at least an hour. I cant wait till my next Dr appointment. I'm definitely going back to Hong Phat Food Center and looking around more.

Yelp
Formally a massive Safeway, Hong Phat Food Center is now a massive Asian grocery store and a pretty popular one at that. Vietnamese owned and operated, it has become a destination for many folks looking for quality Asian goods. In addition to that, they have an outstanding selection, great customer service, really abundant parking, and very good prices. Portland is already home to a lot of Asian market options, but few are as vast or as organized as Hong Phat. The produce selection would range from good to very good; featuring mainly in season items. They have a whole section of pickled items from kimchi to other vegetables. I was pretty impressed with the hot foods section, which was abundantly stacked with fried foods and big ol banh baos / cha lua (Viet ham). This is already my go-to spot for jackfruit / durian. I seldom ever have to deal with big crowds and I appreciate how clean everything is here. The Asian store funk doesn't permeate as hard here, despite some near downright awful restrooms. Ultimately when it comes to shopping here, I still give myself extra time to scour for the next great find.

Ivan D.

Yelp
Has a variety of Asian goods, nothing that stands out, store is on the dirtier side and reeks of harsh chemicals that will turn your stomach. Always check your food for expiration. Customer service is good.
google avatar

Paul I.

Yelp
This former Safeway provides ample parking compared to the poorly designed Fubon parking lot. Much smaller than Fubon and other larger Asian stores but it's laid out well and feels less intimidating to me as a novice. Prices seem comparable to me. They do have a little stand with a good variety of hot foods to go.
google avatar

Stephanie N.

Yelp
I like Hong Phat. It's easy to navigate, lots of parking space, and a large selection of foods. The layout of the place is very easy to find what you're looking for. They even had the super spicy Korean noodles that I had to buy online previously! They have a good sized deli area with lots of things to choose from. As with most Asian supermarkets, they have the normal selection of noodles, spices, meats, vegetables, and more. Nothing to be surprised here. It's not the best kept up place inside, but definitely better than another place I've been to. Not too much to say as there aren't too many pro's or con's here, but it's good for a quick visit.

Celeste E.

Yelp
First off, I never leave reviews. This is my second review I've ever taken the time to write. I had the best experience at Hong Phat ever! My mom, and I walked in to grab something to drink, and ended up leaving with a grocery bag full of goodies. The ready to-go meals were were so phenomenal, we're going back later to get more. They also accept food stamp cards. We asked around, and the lady said everything we had in hand was covered, besides one thing, which was fine it was only a $5 drink. Later on when we were ready to check out the lady said we could use our card for the food, and pay cash for the drink. The cashier saw we didn't have cash, and only had card, so she let us have the drink for free. Overall great customer service, great food, and great prices! This is our go to spot now.

Andrea W.

Yelp
I came here to pick up some groceries, lots of frozen seafood and meats. A lot of Vietnamese products (as expected since the name is Vietnamese), and it's quite pricey. Good selection of produce and products in general.
google avatar

Bong J.

Yelp
One of my favorite Asian markets to grab Asian groceries. They have majority of the Asian ingredients to create great dishes. I also like to stop by that Cafe in the corner for their pandan waffles and other yummy treats. If you don't feel like cooking get your dinner there. You won't regret.

Yelp
All the Asian snacks you can eat and more. Located near 82nd and Glisan you will find this Hong Phat Asian Supermarket. This is the second of two locations that have opened in Portland. The other market located off Prescott. If memory serves me right this used to be a Safeway that has since closed down. There is plenty of parking in the front of the store, but they are super busy during peak hours and on the weekends. I recommend coming in on a weekday (Mon-Fri) if you can to avoid the crowd. They have a wide selection of Asian produce, meat, noodles and just about anything, you need. There is also a good variety of noodles, seafood and snacks. Plenty of mochi and Pocky snacks. Lots and lots of Thai, Korean, Chinese and Japanese ramen type noodles. Be careful to check meat carefully. We have brought home meat from here that about to go bad. The produce, fruits and herb selection is where they really shine. We come here for ingredients to make pho and they always have what we need from basil, mint and fresh Thai chilies. They also have a Boba teashop located right in the store next to the deli that is open limited hours. We found the Boba tea not great but good for the price. The in store deli is great. You can find stir-fry dishes, soup and banh mi sandwiches. They also do a fried plantain that is delicious. We come here for the produce, fruit, seasoning and snacks. The produce options are great. The meat department could use some work since items are not as fresh as they could be. It is also nice that this store is nowhere as crowded and busy as Fubonn.

Yelp
This review is for the Hong Phat Gocery Store and there deli. I been a customer since they open, but never wrote a review. But with so many things happening in the world today. I feel that I needed to give this store what it deserves. Most asian grocery can be a little disorganized and a little messy, but Hong Phat isn't. It always been very organized and clean and there prices are clearly mark. There workers are nice and polite. They offer a variety of meats, fish and veggies and lots of snacks. They also have a deli inside with drinks and hot food items. During this difficult time with COVID-19. The store owner step up and mad there store cleaner. They have people cleaning the carts and also having someone providing hand sanitizer at the entrance. They change there entrance to having one entrance and existing the other like costco does. I feel they have step up on the safety concerns. I havent seen many asian market do that lately and they been doing this for a few weeks now.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Pretty cool grocery store for Asian food. I've been in here twice and have been quite pleased with the selection and prices. The produce is really good and decent quality as are the meats. They have tons of seafood, but keep in mind, MOST is frozen and not fresh. I do understand why, but there's higher quality seafood available locally at a comparable price. There are many items you won't find elsewhere around Portland. I'd definitely recommend giving any newcomers a half hour or 45 minutes to look around on your first visit to get oriented.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Now as some of you readers of my reviews know I am new to the Portland area. But that doesn't mean I can't write some good reviews. I like to explore a new area and get to know my surroundings. I pass Hong Phat on my way to work. I wanted to see what was going on in there. If you look back at my reviews you will see that I have an affinity for ethnic grocery stores. Asian and Mexican grocery stores are so much fun to get lost in. The prices are usually cheaper and you can find incredible spices, bbq sauces and rubs that you won't find in the big chains. Whole pineapples for $1.99? That's great! I wandered for over a half hour lugging around my motorcycle helmet. Some really interesting produce, an awful lot of kimchi, lots of french baguettes for bahn mis, of course an abundance of rice and rice noodles and all sorts of odd and interesting things. Pickled baby eggplants, gooseberries and many things I could not pronounce. Granted many of those things I most likely will not be getting but there are still many items I will look forward to trying. If you are a foodie like me, and most Yelper are, wander around stores like this. It's so cool to explore. Enjoy.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review for Hong Phat, I think I assumed I had since it's part of our normal shopping routine but it looks like it's time for a past due review! Hong Phat is our favorite for their meats and for Lotus Kitchen hot eats. Lotus Kitchen is just inside the left entrance, they have food to order as well as the main event, fresh already boxed food. Everything you could want for Vietnamese cuisine for such a great price. Every type of noodle dish, various options of Banh Mi, rice dishes and various options of salad rolls. They also have a hot food deli with items like crispy rolls, cat fish, chicken etc. My daughters favorite tho, are the fresh pandan waffles. Please keep in mind using your own judgment when selecting food here to buy. Test feel the bread for freshness (has it been the item sitting out the longest?) Jiggle the boxes around to see is the rice noodles move well or if maybe they've been out for a little. They're usually always busy here, which means items are constantly being replaced with fresh batches. If you come on a slow day though, just be aware of how long something's been out. It just won't taste as good or have the desired recipe texture. For meats, we love Hong Phat. We come here for our neck bones and ox tail for pho broth and bbh. They also have a great selection of hot sauté, black bean chili, seasoning sauce (basically a diluted soy sauce) and all is the ready-to-go soup bases and seasoning packs that I can't find easily at other stores. We do tend to go to certain Asian stores for certain things, Hong Phat is our meat and hot food item store. As well as condiment (no matter where you go, check expiration dates on pantry items, always). We come here at least once every two weeks, if not more for snacks.

Yelp
I was in the area and stopped in to look at their selection of Thai curry pastes. They had three brands, so I'm excited to try all three! I would recommend this store anytime for grocery shopping values. The store is large. The signage of what's on each aisle needs updating. Many aisles are instant noodle cup warehouse. Prices are inexpensive. Parking is congested on Saturday, they are very popular. The shoppers were very!!! polite in line. That alone is Five Stars. The cashiers are the fastest I've seen in Portland and polite. It's worth a trip just to see that!

Yelp
Always an adventure! Hong Phat, located in the old Safeway store on 82nd and Burnside. The crowds are much larger than they used to be when this was a SafeWay. It's a pretty large Vietnamese market with fresh meat, seafood and produce. They also have sauces and canned goods. There is a huge selection of tea. Woo Hoooo ! Limes, 5 for a dollar! Excellent shallots and garlic. The non-food aisle is very interesting and is worth a visit, just for that! Check my photos for the big story, it's a cool, unusual place! You may have seen their other store at 9819 NE Prescott St . This store on 82nd also includes a small deli-like restaurant...

Yelp
Went to the deli to get some chicken that was 5.95lb. Watched a customer get charged 11.99lb for something that was listed at almost half that price. When she confronted them the worker played dumb then said they were all out of the lower priced pork and it was 11.99lb(even though the price listed below the msaid half that number) After checking my chicken they had also charged me 11.99lb. When I confronted the worker(which was a different lady) she said that it was a mistake and fixed my price. What a rip off, accidents with different excuses. Seems like they are charging everyone 11.99lb at the deli despite the listed prices. *glad the store reads these but I never mentioned what day I came in so how did you know it was a new worker or should I say workers since there was 2 of them "making mistakes." Thanks for the follow up

Yelp
Your place for all Asian ingredients and produce. They also have cooked food for pick-up. I like the fried fish and pandas waffles. They take credit cards.

Yelp
This is a larger store than the first location and when I first visited, I was pleasantly surprised by their abundance of parking spaces. The store itself is very clean and well kept. Prices are around the same range as most asian stores in the area. Possibly the tiniest bit cheaper than Fubonn. Like most asian stores, it appears as though customer service isn't a huge emphasis, but that is to be expected. They cut to the chase and at the end of the day, you got your asian groceries

Yelp
Hong Phat is a primarily Vietnamese market along the SE 82nd Asian business corridor. There are several other markets in the area but if you want all of your Vietnamese products, give this place a try first. It compares in size to larger markets like Fubon but it doesn't have all those extra businesses. I remember a few years ago trying to find one of those plastic Vietnamese rice paper wrap & water holders. I looked in a lot of markets and could not find one! Some stores didn't even know what I was asking for. This place had several to choose from! They have a nice selection of fruits and vegetables and from what I saw, there was nothing rotten. Everything was fresh. They had a nice selection of herbs as well. I bought some jackfruit and it was wonderful! I'm still eating it! I bought some fresh herbs as well and they are still fresh several days later. The frozen food section has just about anything you're looking for and there are some good deals on frozen shrimp and squid. There is an area with prepared warm food including many types of Asian foods and some western foods as well. You can get Banh mi sandwiches, papaya salad, fried rice, blood sausage, pineapple with chili/salt, etc... They also have an area where you can get hot and cold drink including coffee, juices and teas. Aisle 1 Sauces, fish sauce, soy sauce, flavored sauces, hot sauces, dressing Aisle 2 Preserved vegetables, preserved fruits, cocktail fruit, coconut cream/milk, vinegar, cooking wine, shrimp sauce, soybean sauce, fermented bean curd, ham, pate, pork sung Aisle 3 Soup base/mix/cubes, dried spices, dried chili, dried onion/garlic, pepper, salt, MSG, canned vegetables, oils, vegetarian meals Aisle 4 Shrimp crackers, egg noodles, ramen, BBQ sauce Aisle 5 Rice paper wraps, noodles, rice noodles, macaroni Aisle 6 Cold stuff! Brrrrr Aisle 7 More Noodles, more instant noodles, curries, soup bases Aisle 8 More instant noodles, Korean, Thai, vegetarian, Japanese Aisle 9 Rice, dried seaweed, dried mushrooms, dried vegetables, coffee, baking needs, dried fruit, nuts, sugar Aisle 10 Household items, incense, ceramics, pots, pans, mortar and pestle, broom, mats, soap, utensils Aisle 11 Cookies/crackers, candies, seaweed snacks, cakes, mochi, dried squid, chips Aisle 12 Butter, jam/jellies, Korean tuna, Korean chili, soybean paste, canned tomatoes, teas Aisle 13 More household items, rice cookers, baskets, energy drinks, bulk cases of sone items Last Aisle Rice in very large bags, bakery, beer and wine, cold drink If you're in the area give this place a try! Wonder around and I'm sure you'll find done stuff to take home with you!

Yelp
Typical southeast Asian grocery store, but in a much larger scale, unfortunately not necessarily better quality..... Don't have a lot of ready-to-eat options. They do have fresh mangosteen!
