"Emeryville’s Honor Kitchen just reopened after a 20-month hiatus and a big renovation—so now, you can sip cocktails under the atrium, or huddled around a fire pit. The upscale tavern menu includes hearty American dishes like roasted bone marrow, sweet chili lamb riblets, and lobster ceviche." - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1

"In an unassuming building at the intersection of Emeryville and Oakland lies Honor Kitchen, a craft cocktail spot lurks. Honor bills itself as a “gastropub,” with food items like bone marrow brulee and fried chicken. Really though, it’s all about the cocktails and hilariously good list of spirits, including a selection of Pappy Van Winkles." - Dianne de Guzman, Ellen Fort

First visit back since they completed rebuild. Really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the fire pits. Nice secure bicycle parking, decent sized car parking in back. Patio is dog friendly. Love the roll up walls to allow some of the lovely California weather in. The cozy bar is separate of the dining room and hard to figure out exactly where to go without a little help. Drinks were slow but the food was quick and all the service was amazing. Glad to see a place like this come back to the neighborhood.

I’ve seen happier faces at the DMV than I did at this restaurant. Upon arrival, the host barely acknowledged us, and when we left, she didn’t even say goodbye. Perhaps it was an off day, but it left a poor impression. The server was professional but seemed unfamiliar with the menu, which didn’t help. The food itself was disappointing. It tasted like it had come straight from the freezer—watery and flavorless. And calling what they served "ceviche" was an insult to the dish. A squeeze of lemon juice doesn’t make something ceviche. The chimichurri was passable, and the meat was decent, but nothing extraordinary. As for dessert, the chocolate Oreo dish felt store-bought. I’d bet $100 it wasn’t made in-house. For what they’re charging, the food quality just doesn’t match up. That being said, the restaurant is in a beautiful location, and the ambiance is great. We visited on a Friday evening when only two other tables were occupied, and with all the extra staff, we expected top-notch service. Surprisingly, it was the runners who provided the best service of the night. I didn’t notice any managers present, which is probably why the finer details were missed. They really need a solid floor manager to oversee the experience.

They spent a lot of money on the renovation and the new atmosphere is beautiful! Lots of great items on the menu and the beer and bar drink selection is excellent. There tends to be a service issue every time I come here, usually with drinks coming out incredibly slow from the bar even when the place is seemingly empty. Hopefully they can fix this because it is a recurring issue.

Came back for the first time since the remodel and never again! The restaurant is beautifully remodeled but when you have to enter the kitchen to ask to get seated there's a problem!! Servers were busy on their phones doing anything but their job!!! The restaurant had tons of seating but for whatever reason they seated my party steps away from the bathroom door!! Personally I don't like toilet aerosols floating near my food. This is the big kicker when we ordered 2 sodas we got 1 1/4 can!! What does that mean you ask?? Well I observed our server pouring our sodas from an already opened coke can that was sitting at the bar and it filled my cup and 1/4 of my friend's cup! But at least she opened another can of coke to top off the other cup. I get we are in tough economic times but damn at least give us what we paid for!!! We ordered a pizza and we asked for some pepper flakes and literally I could count the number of flakes that were served to us! Must be a shortage of pepper flakes! We loved this place when it was small and the service was great but now it's just another place for me that's just not worth visiting again!!!!!!

My friend ordered the crab salad, and on the way home, she got sick and threw up. I ordered the fish and chips. The French fries were dry and staled. Parking is an issue. There's no parking during lunch hours and you have to pay for street parking. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. The service is okay. You shouldn't have to ask for condiments. It should be automatic depending on what you order.

Dropped into the newly remodeled Honor. I'm so impressed with the lovely new "outdoor" dining area. The food and drinks were delicious 😋 and the service was great.

I recently came here with a group of my friends and had the pleasure of having Coco as our server. She made the experience a wonderful one and I can't wait to come back just for her!!! Her menu suggestions were amazing and she added to the ambiance. We will be back for more great food, drinks and fun with our new favorite server.

We’ve been in several times and were excited to try Honor Kitchen as we haven’t been back since the remodel. However, when we went in on Saturday, we had really terrible service in the lounge. The bartender completely ignored us, no menus, no water, nothing… despite helping several parties that came in after us. When she finally came over, she only made one of our drinks and didn’t put our food order in. It took flagging down the manager, Jackie, several times to get our drinks and our food order in. Jackie comped our first round of drinks, but by then we didn’t feel welcome. Spend your money elsewhere… Branchline down the street is great
