I went on a date here and it was great! Our server was Jackie and she was very friendly and attentive. We had lots of questions about the menu and she was very patient and informative. The food was great and filling. I recommend their house sauce, its creamier versus the others that are more oil based. I haven't had the ramen yet, but I'm excited to come back to try it.

We took our Best friend and sister here for her birthday, the food was delicious, seasoned well, the crab boil and lobster boil was loaded up, the corn was so sweet and delicious, my oysters were great, succulent and had a spicy kick to them, we left there good and full, we were well pleased, we definitely will be back for happy hours.

Waitress was absolutely lovely, help us decide on appetizers and main dish. Gave her honest opinion and when the food came we were not disappointed.. she was spot on with her descriptions.. amazing boil!!! Crabs, shrimp sausage, yummmm even the corn, potatoes and broccoli was delicious!!!! She also pointed out the special pricing which was very sweet of her to do.

Came to celebrate my friend birthday.Took server long time to get to table. Server never introduced himself. First time; Last time. Not impressed. Food Horrible!!!!! Not seasoned, uncooked, not enough food (small portions). Was not offer water. Had to request: No salt restaurant, ran out. Stared at an uncleaned table for 15 minutes Uncleaned floors, not swept. First and Last time.

I must say...I was leary of the reviews when I heard there was a free appetizer with a positive one. I came here to say that everything was great! Lobster bisque was delicious, as well as the hush puppies. My husband gave the boil a huge thumbs up..said it was very flavorful. Thw waiter was very knowledgeable, and quick with any and all of our needs. Would definately recommend!

Waitress Megan was really nice, the food is good and the music was decent. They usually have a DJ on Friday nights, but I think I came too early for it. Other than that I like the food and come during happy hour, which is 3-6, Mon-Fri.

Loyal customer at Hook & Reel. Seafood, and drinks always fresh and delicious. Customer service is phenomenal as well. Once you enter through the doors you are greeted. One of the best waitresses is Jackie. Support one of my favorite spots. You won’t be disappointed and worth your coins.

Based on the food, this restaurant should definitely get a five-star review, The service was a little lackluster. Not that the service was bad. It just seemed as if the servers weren't interested in actually working. It was fine when they did show up to the table. The food was absolutely delicious. He had tempura shrimp, fried calamari and both had crab rolls. All the food was excellent. The restaurant was clean, comfortable and nice to be in. The music was just a little bit too loud for my taste on a Wednesday afternoon. I'll definitely go back there.

Ryan was an amazing server and was very friendly and engaging with us! We are now pretty much regulars coming here and we absolutely enjoy our food, as you can see lol The portions are wonderful and I love that there is plenty to take home. My goal is try as much on the menu as possible lol

Oh, the missing star is for Fridays. THE MUSIC IS RIDICULOUSLY LOUD AND DISTURBING. You can't even talk to your people at your table because it's so loud. We all had headaches that night. No need for a DJ at a crab boil. Like NO. Visited twice before giving a review! The boils are DELICIOUS! Both visits we had a party of 8 or more. Drinks were good. The chicken wings are amazing. Dont get the crab fries (imitation crab yuck). Service is hit or miss. Our waitress was pretty good but she didn't check up on our table this time like she on our last visit which was annoying because we needed her for missing items like FORKS! This is our new favorite crab spot. The boils are reasonably priced for sure and sooooo flavorful. My daughter loves coming here. We will be back.

- The calamari we ordered was very flavorful and delicious. Cooked to perfection with no chewiness. I would have just liked the squid itself to have been a little meatier. It comes with marinara which I've never encountered. But they also have cocktail sauce if you just ask. We had their mozzarella sticks after and they were cooked perfectly. Great cheese pull with a delicious marinara. In just this past week we've tried mozzarella sticks from The Peppermill, White Castle and some bar that I can't even remember the name of and they all sucked. A hunk of cold cheese would fall out of all the sticks. We got their family pack boil for $150 and everything was perfect and super flavorful. The waitress was very attentive and polite. We were left alone for a while but she was still pretty on top of everything. We're definitely going to come back for some ramen and takoyaki!

I should had never ordered through this restaurant!!! I've ordered $83 worth of food but my order was TERRIBLE!!!!! My order was beyond messed up!!! The crab fries had NO CRABMEAT. Just cheese! The large catch had only ONE lobster, NO RICE and it didn't have any Cajun sauce! In fact, it WAS NO SAUCE ON BOTH ORDERS!!!! Nor did I get my sauce on the side!!! What kind shitshow are you running!!!!!!!!?

I came to celebrate a friend's birthday on 10/29/24. This was a reserved party and around 24 people showed up. Unfortunately, the service was horrible and the bar area, which was promised to the person who reserved the party, was not available. I sat for close to 1/2 hour before pulling the waiter over to place a food order (bag of seafood). He nodded that he understood my order. Approximately 1/2 hour later, I reached out to him again and asked how long would the order take. He then informed me that he never took my order. So, I placed another order and asked if he could ask the manager for a small dicoount for the delayed service. About a half hour later, I received my food, but wasn't provided a discount. So I asked the manager if she could provide me a small discount considering now an hour and a half had passed and I had just received my food. She said, "no", so I asked her, if I decided not to pay because she doesn't care about the customer service of her restaurant would she still deny me a discount. At that time she unknowingly had the waiter go and take my meal off the table. I left the restaurant, never getting to eat nor was any apology for the poor customer service expressed. In fact, the manager blamed our party for all strolling in at different times, even though we didn't know that we had to be there at a certain time, for the delay in service. There were others at my table who never received their drinks. We found out later that the waiter actually works in the kitchen and said that he had never had a party this big. I informed the manager that she should've gotten more staff to help him out and at least accommodated us with some discounts since they weren't prepared, and a reservation was made in advance. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I will never return. To add insult to injury, they automatically add an 18% gratuity fee to everyone's bill even though the service was horrible. Also, the waiter never came back to ask our party if we needed refills or wanted to order extra food. The manager blamed us for showing up at different times as the reason behind the sloppy service. When asked for the general manager's contact information, I was provided the number to this store. When asked for the manager's name, who was in the kitchen, a new employee did not know it. Avoid this place at all costs, they don't care about providing good customer service.

This place is so energetic and up to date! This place has amazing servers who will explain everything about the menu to you! They even have mouthwash. This place is amazing, would recommend!!!

The service was good and the food was good. When I walked in the smell was honestly terrible. (At the time I didn't know what it was) They were burning ALOT of candles. Which didn't help. I never minded it. I did read reviews before going and they mentioned it. When I finished eating we went to the bathroom and washed our hands. THATS when I realized this whole time the smell was the BATHROOM . I'm glad I finished eating before I noticed that. Aside from that... I have been feeling sick and been back and forth to the bathroom. I saw a review about that as well. It's all true.

We came here last night for Good Friday, and the food was absolutely delicious. I am not usually a big fan of catfish, but this was easily the best catfish I've ever had. I ordered the catfish platter with lemon pepper. It came with four really big pieces of catfish and a lot of fries. The catfish was seasoned so well that it did not have a fishy taste at all. The fries were delicious.I did enjoy the tartar sauce and I believe the plate was around $14. My fiancé ordered the same thing but he got his spicy. The watermelon pucker martini was also delicious. The decorations inside were really nice. I enjoyed the vibe and our waiter Ronald S was very friendly and attentive.

My first experience was great! However, there is always a staled odor... inside the restaurant...maybe that's why they constantly burn candles. The second time my stomach was queasy, this Saturday my family had diarrhea, after we ate there. Catfish was greasy and looked gray in color...now mind you they had no soap in restroom or paper towels. I used the employee sink in the hall outside the restroom to wash my hands. I verbally said nothing (oh the pasta was ok) because I wanted this review to speak for me. This is unacceptable and I spent close to 80$ plus I tipped the waitress, who was nice by the way. I was so disappointed in our meal and the money I spent. Folks beware cause after eating at the HOOK & Reel in CREST-WOOD YOU CANT CONTINUE SHOPPING CAUSE THE POTTING IS CALLING YOUR NAME! Shame on you! And the food that makes customers feel ill after eating...your bad food.

Just had Hook and Reel in Crestwood, IL, and the shrimp tasted fishy, and the catfish was raw in the middle. Compared to the Hook and Reel in Country Club Hills, IL (which is great!), this one was a big disappointment.

Great food and great Service. there wasn't a long wait and the hostage was nice as well.

So now after my horrible experience, I am being charged with extra funds a separate day?

Food was decent. Had the snow crab legs, lobster tail, shrimp, corn and potatoes. I think it was a boil bag special for Saturday and Sunday for 40 dollars. Only thing I didn't like was the sauce that comes in the bag gets thick real quick but it's has so much flavor. The drink was ok for 10 dollars but could have used a tab bit more alcohol. Service was good don't remember waitress name. Overall nice environment I'll be back for the sushi and ramen.

First time here & customer service is subpar ‍. I ordered 2 mini boils & a drink which tasted like a pre-made mix. The house blend sauce wasn't all that. It's not giving Cajun Boil to me as the sauce goes. It's almost like a rue than a butter sauce. Wasn't spicy but the price was reasonable. They young lady with the auburn/copper hair didn't both giving us napkins not wet wipes. I'll return to try the lobster fries which was friend says was good. Oh yea I forgot so she acted like she didn't want to give me my change..I originally gave her $50 (2 $20 & $10). She took so long to give me change I found $3 in my wallet & I still didn't get back my dime ..yea I'm definitely not goin back to this location. Hopefully the Country Club Hills location is better.

This is my first time here. The environment is beautiful and the food is delicious. I will come back next time.

Delicious food, fast service, and great customer service. First time trying this place! Love the vibe & loved the music while eating.

My husband and I came here for lunch today and we had a good time! I had to take away two stars because the bathrooms weren't so clean and the service was SUPER SLOW.....but other than that, the food was great! So, we walk in and there's no one at the hostess stand....we waited for a few minutes to be seated. The place didn't seem too packed so I'm not sure why the service was slow....perhaps they were short staffed? As we were walking to our table, I noticed that there were A LOT of candles lit around the place and there were at least 3-4 Glade aroma diffusers sitting out in the open...not sure why they need so many candles lit....the smell of candles mixed with seafood is a bit weird. But anyway, we get to our table and order drinks....I had a strawberry margarita (on the rocks) and my husband had a passion fruit margarita (frozen)....my drink was ok, it didn't have much strawberry flavor and my husband's drink didn't taste like passion fruit anything! It lacked flavor even more than mine. So we didn't even bother to order more drinks. For our appetizer, we ordered the crab fries......they were delicious! The fries had the perfect crispy texture on the outside and soft on the inside when you bite into it....we drizzled lemon juice over them and that made them extra yummy! For our boils, we ordered the weekend special which got us crab legs, a lobster tail, and shrimp with corn and potatoes for $43....I added noodles to mine, my husband added sausage to his (add-ons are for an additional charge, of course). And we chose the Hook n Reel house blend for our sauce....it's pretty good! If I had to say one bad thing it would be my disappointment over the kind of noodles I got....I've seen some seafood boil places that have the ramen noodles (which is what I wanted)....what I got was spaghetti noodles....so just keep that in mind if you dine here and want to add noodles to your boil. My overall experience was ok....wish the service could've been faster but I'd return here again.

One of our favorite places to get crab & shrimp boils! Always tastes great, and you get tons of food! Wait staff is usually super helpful with recommendations if you don't know what you want. I recommend adding noodles & broccoli to whatever boil you get! And their special blend seasoning is

This place is great! I loved the meal me and my wife had(chicken po'boy sandwich/shrimp basket) sweet potato fries are a must try. The service was good no complaints. The look and feel of the restaurant was very nice.

My drink with was the PassionFruit Sunrise was so watered down I could literally taste the water and splash of orange juice... 1st and last time going here

We came in on Sunday for a late dinner, unfortunately we didn't enjoy our meal due to having the most condescending/ rude waitress. Example we asked for napkins to wipe our sons hands and she replied "I literally just took your order, I was about to go get napkins" ..... like if you were already on your way you could have just said "ok" why the speech, that wasn't the only time we got a condescending response from her. The food is mid, the whole restaurant felt off.

We always get "The perfect storm", just the right amount for 2 people! Our server is always great as well!! Food is so good!

Almost every time I visit the Chi, I stop by Hook n Reel. The food is good and the service is friendly. The ambiance is solid and the cost is affordable. Additionally, it's a great place to hang with your fave people while eating a good seafood boil with delicious sauce. IMO-The combo sauce makes the seafood even more enjoyable.

I was hesitant at first by this place but then gave it a shot tonight with my 5 year old daughter and was pleasantly surprised how good this was. I had the king crab which was cooked to perfection and my daughter loved the mozzarella sticks but loved eating my crab more. Prices are right in my opinion and portion was perfect. I will be back to explore the rest of the menu. As far as first time dining here it went perfectly. I left full and satisfied and told a few friends about the place also. TY

Food was typical Cajun joints popping up all over city n burbs. The customer service is awesome. The restaurant did practice social distancing but they had a party of 15 arriving and the manager kindly asked if we mind if they were seated across from us or he would have them wait until my party of 2 was done. I thought that was a very courteous gesture. I ordered the mini shrimp with sausage which gave plenty of jumbo shrimp. The sausage was poor quality. TOO much fat in it. Otherwise the spicy garlic butter sauce was perfect. I appreciated the quantity of garlic. The drinks were decent, could give more liquor. Just a place to get out the house. Nothing superb.

Honestly Best fried Fish I've had... The Crabmeat Fries are spot on too. I don't leave many reviews but this deserved one.... Staff is Amazing!!

Unfortunately, my friends and I didn't have a great experience here with our food.... Chicken Tender Basket (Not Pictured): Supposedly tasted like "Air"... meaning it lacked seasoning. Also, their ranch dressing is "Nasty". Chicken Po Boy: The shrimp are huge and fresh ... and seasoned well. But, this entree was a disappointment because of the sauce on top of the sandwich. It honestly taste like a thick ass Thousand Island dressing. I couldn't enjoy it because it was so much sauce on the shrimp... I didn't like the sauce‍ Hush Puppies- DELICIOUS... I like the flavor and also the corn pieces. It also come with that thick ass Thousand Island dressing... Luckily, it came as a side and I was still able to enjoy my side. Seafood Boil (Not Pictured): Friend said decent... I do plan to go back and try their seafood boil. I like that they have different sizes. Hook Punch: Weak! Crabmeat Fries: Delicious! This place is not stingy with their portions... plates were huge. They give you a lot of fries.. Fries nasty though! Customer Service: GREAT! Our waiter was Kiyanna ( Possibly spelled wrong) she was dope... Very helpful, nice, and have a great energy. Honestly, their great service is the only reason I would try this place again. Hook & Reel restaurant is very clean and they were sanitizing areas before and after customers leave. They have mask, wear gloves, and their layout is set for customers to socially distance. So yeah.. that's it!

Came here on a Saturday night. I joined the waitlist beforehand to avoid waiting long. When I checked in the hostess said she didn't have me on the list. She tried to put us on the waitlist, got two texting saying I was on the list but she said it wasn't working. A little annoying that we still had to wait but whatever. The food was really good! I'm craving their fried calamari a week later! I enjoy the fried food. The batter could've been a bit better, it was falling off but still great! The hush puppies..*chefs kiss* I had a boil with king crab and headless shrimp. The meat was good but I wasn't a fan of the Hook and Reel blend, it gave me Curry vibes. It wasn't spicy either and I felt like the seasoning wasn't there. It was a decent amount of food and I was full. The waitress was so nice. I wish I remembered her name‍ but I'd recommend this place, especially if you like fried seafood. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night but the wait wasn't long, about 15-20 minutes to sit.

Update again: management and/or ownership has changed. The food is not good. The sausages don't even get browned before they are put in the bag and the sauces are like this thick paste.. it's just gross. Sad because this is very close to home but now I have to travel to orland park for a good boil.

It must be a trend now, I'm seeing these Cajun boil places all over, however, this one is by far the best that we have tried!! Service, food and cleanliness were top notch! Serome, I believe was her name - she was fantastic!! The manager was super nice and engaging. We can't wait to go back and try other things. We got: The everything boil bag for $69: -2 lobster tails -2 crab legs -1 pound of head-on shrimp -1 pound of mussels -potatoes -corn (Everything was excellent ~ we got it HOT) -hushpuppies (pretty good) -catfish sliders (AMAZING)

My husband and I were leary of starting datenight again with covid. But we were craving seafood. I am so glad we decided to come here again. The food and service were great. We had the calamari appetizer. I am not a fan of calamari, but this was crispy, tender and delicious. We had the shrimp boil with sausage special, and the crab boil with lobster. I had spicy, which was excellent. It was spicy but deliciously blended. He had the mild which was great. Both have a lot of garlic and spice blends. But that doesn't deter the taste of the seafood. I took about half as a doggie bag. It was even better the next day as the spices had a chance to marinate the seafood. The only disappointment was with dessert as the slice of chocolate cake was small for the price. But you dont expect a lot of people to order dessert. I would definitely come back. It will be added into our date night routine.

Beautiful experience; had a quick lunch with a friend. Those crab bites are mini crab cakes that pack a flavor punch! The shrimp was fresh and delicious and the crab fries were a nice treat. We also had an absolutely AWESOME server! Ken, rocks!

The food was cold and sauce was bland and super thick taking away from the oysters. I would not order again, and I love seafood.

One thing I want to say about this hidden gem is quality, quality ,quality and quantity, quantity, quantity!!! I was 100% impressed with everything from the time my husband and I entered the doors. The food and drinks was good .... Saving the best for last... I normally don't sit at booths but after seeing Darrell cleaning the booths and tables the way he did I was absolutely impressed on the detailed cleaning... we will definitely be back soon. Came here for dine in a few times before Covid and service was great. Recently placed an order online for pickup because I was limited in time, so I put my order in 15 minutes before I left work and had a 30 minute ride there. Before arriving, the site said my food was ready. Got there and The greeter was busy talking and when she finally noticed me she asked if I was picking up an order because she didn't have anything waiting. After looking on the tablets she said oh I never sent that to the kitchen. I was highly disappointed because I was pressed for time. I spent about $200 on food and the service was horrible. No apology for the delay or even offer me water while I waited. They could have handled the mix up with a little more compassion. There are far better seafood boil places than this!

I could taste the bleach and other chemicals they used to clean the snow crabs, it was awful

I ordered calamari appetizer it was so rubbery I couldn't eat it then got shrimp and crab I could not get one piece of meat from the crab it was sticking to the shell so bad it would come out the shrimp was ok but I spent over $50 for me alone and the only good thing I can say is the staff was really nice.

Came in early in week very relaxing the decor is very tastefully done our server Rachel was a sweetheart making sure everything went in correctly. We had time to our appetizer without being rushed before the meals came out The menu was easy to understand with the 3 steps for a Boil

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO POORLY IN A RESTAURANt! I tied to go to the crestwood location and was treated horribly by the staff. The hostess was so rude told us it was a 25 mins wait even though the restaurant was clearly half empty. It was dead in there a few people at the bar and 2 parties other than that empty. We said ok no problem we will go to the bar. She responded with no u can't the bar is short staffed! You have to stand at the door and wait. I asked can we sit and a table and order a drink and just wait a 1/2 hour to order food. Her response was absolutely not. When I asked to speak with a manger I was told no and was informed to call the other location to speak with a manger, which I did and they were cluessless as to why this was happening as the locations are not related. I have work in restaurants for over 10 years so I know how it works. I have never seen and never been treated so badly by a restaurant. I am so disappointed in how horrible this experience was.

There is nothing to complain about, everything was so good. The services which is Jada and Sydney was the best customer service I ever had, these ladies was well trained. The Frozen Margarita was sooooooooo good. The boils was good as well

I came for a birthday outing . I arrived at 730 my order wasn't taken til 830 food came out cold I ordered all you can eat at 45$ I only ate 1 serving the waitress came and told us the kitchen would close at 915 they have a 90 min window for the dining room experience I didn't receive and still had to pay full price. Very bad service I will never patronize this place again. The waiter should have suggested after 830 getting the all you can eat wouldn't be a good idea cause you won't have time to gain experience.

The catfish basket with sweet potato fries was amazing. Some of the best catfish I've had. Service was fantastic as well.

Food was good .. seasoned good drinks were good too .. maybe nobody was in there because it's so many seafood boil places now a days or because of covid but I do recommend to try.

First time trying this location in spare of the moment today. The wait wasn't long at all since it was a Holdiay. I tired the Seafood Boils with - Crawfish, Snow crabs, corn, potatoes and "Spicy" Garlic butter seasoning. Overall the food was pretty good, the seasoning could've been a little more spicy for my liking, and the corn was a little over cooked. Everything was fresh outside of that, and pretty fulfilling. I would come back to try their calamari, and other fried foods. The server at the bar was nice and checked on me frequently. The only suggestion I would make is having smaller bags for lesser food items, and seasoning the food too instead of having it at the bottom of the bag! Lastly to add, it was a calm atmosphere, pretty good music & friendly staff.
