Local brewery specializing in hop-forward IPAs, flavorful lagers and bold stouts.
"As their name implies, Hop Butcher For The World leans into intensely hoppy styles like double and triple IPAs, with hazies and lagers for those who aren’t as into bitter brews. There’s even hop water for those who want the flavor without the booze. The weekend often brings food trucks while weeknight fun includes trivia and bingo." - Samantha Nelson
"The name’s inspired by poet Carl Sandburg, and the brewery has taken over some hallowed ground — Half Acre Beer Co.’s original Lincoln Avenue space. Hop Butcher had the task of not changing the vibe too much, locals routinely packed the old space. But as a place to showcase their IPAs and other beers, they did want to make the space uniquely theirs. It’s small and tends to get crowded on the weekend, but it’s a nice place to play board games and hang out." - Ashok Selvam
"Hop Butcher for the World opens in the former Half Acre Beer Co. brewpub space at 4257 N. Lincoln Avenue, offering 14 beers on tap, coffee from Metropolis, and other non-alcoholic options like sparkling tea. The venue features a new yellow, orange, and black mural painted by Dan Grzexa. While currently the taproom is only for drinks, there are plans to potentially bring back food service in the future." - Ashok Selvam
"Hop Butcher For The World has applied for a liquor license for its location at 4253-4259 N. Lincoln Avenue." - Naomi Waxman
