HopCat (Partridge Creek)

Went early in the day and the host stand was empty. Took myself to sit at the bar. The bartender was doing a lot (multi-tasking). She was polite and attentive… just needed more help. The food was good. Drink was good also. Outdoor options are available too!

First time experience! The waiter greeted us within maybe 10 mins of being seated. It was 5 pm on a Tuesday, and it wasn't crowded but had a nice crowd in relation to the restaurant size, which had plenty of seating. The trio appetizer was really good. I ordered steak bites which was slightly tough but I asked for them to be well done, so maybe that was why. They had good flavor. My husband ordered a burger and he had no complaints! We will definitely be back to try more dishes off the menu.

The layout is nothing special to me, straight out of the upscale handbook. Could've been an Outback, a Chili's, anything with 'bistro' in the name, even Red Robin. Too loud, that's for sure. Service was tremendous. Kara was tons of fun. Any more upbeat and we'd have to check her dosages. But boy, she really tested my filter (a barely functioning filter to begin with). Keeping my responses to the socially acceptable is NOT my strong suit. And she's well-versed in how to properly drink different styles of beer. 👍 Ordered the Cowboy burger. A huge stack of burger that was held in check nicely by the brioche bun. Mess averted. Sadly, the fries were cool & too salty by far. The well-chosen beer selection suggests return trips, as does the menu. The noise minimize those, however, to an infrequent basis.

Had a great experience here with our server Mandi, she was patient and helpful with all our questions. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back!!

I have gone to this location several times and enjoyed it. This time, on 5/18, not so much! I ordered the ancho chili chicken bowl. It comes with corn, avocado, cilantro, red onion, tomato and chicken. My bowl had 3 small chunks of avocado and 1 of them was black and brown. It was mostly corn in the bowl. The chicken was minced and was about 2 tablespoons. The red onion still had the inside skin of the onion attached. The cherry tomatoes were cut in half and still had the stem. Absolutely no seasoning or attention to them. My bowl was topped with cilantro stems!!!!! I had ONE piece of the actually leaf. I ordered a honey bourbon coffee. When I received it, it was served hot in a mug! There is nothing on the menu that said it was hot and was a cup of coffee. I asked for a glass of ice and poured it over ice. Of course, that watered it down. This was the most awful meal I have ever had there. That terrible bowl was definitely overpriced at $15 with nothing but corn and rice!!!!!! When I complained to the bartender (I sat at the bar) she said I'm so sorry and get me more avocado and cilantro. When I got the bill, I had been charged $1.50 for "extra" avocado and .60 for "extra" cilantro! Mind blowing. I did not order extra. I simply wanted what I was already paying for. I will absolutely NEVER go back. I WAS a loyal customer.

You must have the lobster dip! It was FIRE 🔥 It was gone before it hit the table so I didn’t even get a picture. Our waitress was super sweet. Can’t remember her name because in my head she reminded me of Blossom (just aged myself lol).

I was excited for this restaurant open! The one in Lansing was great, I had high expectations! At first my hubby and I was annoyed, upon entering the restaurant. The hostess asked how many, we said 2. The host proceeded to take us to an area I would consider the closed in patio. Please keep in mind we walked by the main area with open seating to get this area, to be the ONLY patrons that would have been seated in this area at the time. My husband and I were flummoxed. He spoke before I could and requested to be seated amongst everyone else! We then were provided a booth in the main area. I would like to think that wasn’t intentional, but whomever is doing the seating should read the room. Evelyn our waitress was great! She definitely made our experience memorable. Kudos to her, for delivering customer service with a smile and lovely attitude. The food came out in a timely manner, served fresh and hot. I had the Steak Frites. Oh my goodness it was scrumptious and cooked to perfection. There was no fat on any parts of my steak. The sauce for the steak gave it another kick. I would order it again..and again. My hubby’s burger was a double patty. Which he wasn’t aware of at the time of ordering. He ate as much as he could because it was so big. But he said it was delicious. We were so full afterwards, so we decided to walk around the mall. We will visit again

We have always liked HopCat but their food has really up'd its game. Our kids love the Mac n cheese and tenders. My husband and I both had sandwiches last time. Today, they were serving Brunch (to our surprise) and it was on point. He had the burrito, I had the Power Bowl. Our server, Kelsey was really friendly, answered menu questions and gave suggestions. Great with the kids. We will be back

We came on a Thursday evening during happy hour and we had a great time! We each got a happy hour drink: husband got a beer and I got a mule. Both were good! We ordered the space curds. They were different than we were expecting but very delicious! They come with a Bloody Mary aioli, which I was not a huge fan of (but I also don't like bloody Mary's) so we asked for a side of ranch to go with it. We were charged extra for the ranch which was annoying. Husband ordered the $9 burger and beer deal. The burger was over cooked for his liking. I ordered the pickle back chicken sandwich and it was very good! The server was great and made sure we had all our happy hour drinks ordered that we wanted before the time was up. We will be back for more happy hour days.

Stumbled upon the soft opening and everything was outstanding!!! I had the Paging Dr. Rum cocktail. It was not too sweet and very refreshing! The food. All the food was delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more. The Nashville hot chicken was one of the best I've had outside of Nashville! The lobster dip is like a deconstructed crab rangoon! Move over cosmic fries, I have a new fav app at HopCat! Service was some of the best. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and excited for the new opening!

Had a ok experience with friends here! 6:30 on a Saturday and the wait was 30 minutes. It was busy and loud. Our server was nice, normal service. The Nashville chicken sandwich was not spicy at all, but the chicken portion was bigger than expected. The turkey pesto grilled cheese was ok. Pricey for a grilled cheese on white bread. The fries- they make it like some big hype, special fries. They are basic seasoned fries, nothing special! Definitely not worth ordering extra or separate from what comes with the meals.

Very disappointed in our dinner tonight. We loved Hop Cat when it first opened, but I feel it has declined. My pickle sandwich tonight was dry and cold. The bun was hard and there was hardly any sauce on it. We will not be eating here again. Not worth the money.

The vegan burger is always delicious but it is expensive, then they also got rid of the vegan tacos. Over all our food is good every time and the vibe is fast paced and busy!

We stopped in on Friday to try this place out and were quickly seated. The bar area is very big with many seats, huge plus for me! It's very open and modern and has outdoor seating as well. We ordered food and drinks and everything was great! The appetizer sampler was very good and the amount of beers on tap was simply amazing! I loved the selection of beers, and you could build your own old fashion! Definitely coming back and probably on a Thursday to check out the 9 dollar burger and beer special.

Literally love the gluten free burger here. It is so good!!! They have or had the Blake's blue razz cider so that's a plus. It's just over all a really good menu with lots of good food options. The server was running a little behind but once he got caught up he was amazing. I always recommend coming here.

Nice modern interior with friendly staff. Food wise we ordered the sampler appetizer, a couple burgers, and a Buffalo Mac and cheese. The appetizer was was okay. Mini corn dogs were tasty. Chips and cheese dip, chips lacked salt and the cheese dip was too firm for the chips. Boneless wings were good. Cheese curds were just okay. The mini pretzel bites were good but lacked salt. The burgers were over cooked and very dry. I was concerned that they didn't ask for the doneness of the burger and they came out well done. The fries were not fresh. Mac and cheese was good but it barely covered the bottom of the pan it was served in.

I thought I posted a review. Oh well, it is a micro brew drinkers dream. I had Nashville hot chicken nuggets and did not care for them. However, they have my favorite German beer on tap(Paulaner) and a top notch staff (one of the bartenders is from another bar I frequent). All in all, as long as Paulaner is on the menu, I will be on a stool. One last note: they do cocktails to go!!!

It's been a while since we've been to a HopCat location and we attended the soft opening for the Partridge Creek location this past Friday and WOW! They've improved quite a bit! The Royal Oak and Detroit locations have been hit and miss, but I was really impressed by this new location. Started with a nice FRESH M-43 and the lobster dip. Delicious! The lobster dip is served with fried wontons rather than tortilla chips and it was amazing! The sweet chili sauce was also very good and a great compliment to the dish. It actually had heat and wasn't just from a Frank's Red Hot bottle. The Nashville Hot Chicken was HUGE and despite its size, the chicken wasn't stringy or tough. The spice is just about right for the style of sandwich and it's actually an oil based sauce like they do down south. One of the best I've had outside of Nashville. The Bar Zee burger was good as well and I'm glad that all of their burgers are now two patty smash burgers. I've had some hockey puck burgers at other locations, but these were cooked perfectly. The house made bar cheese was great and the bacon was flavorful. The creme brulee cheecake was good, but made me wish we had actual creme brulee. It had all of the right flavors, but was missing the texture. All in all a great spot. Our service was awesome and the food was hot and well prepared. We'll definitely be back after the official opening to try the full menu!

Went with my stepmom's family and my dad longest wait ever for a breakfast and I was starving and the family is huge so it's understandable but why did it take 2 hours!? Food wasn't even great it was fine not even delicious but nice servers and that's it

Went here for a business meeting and met the coolest server Kristin who had Crayola nails and spoke on our level. The crack fries were AMAZING and I want to come back! They let us sit on the patio despite it being closed.

I'll get the good things out of the way before explaining my 3-star rating. Our server was very kind, the food was fresh, both my fish and my chips were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. My gripe is the overall experience. We got seated right away but after we ordered, we sat and waited on our food for nearly 40 minutes. Server did a good job explaining the situation, but I wish we were told how long the wait would be before we were seated. Because waiting is waiting whether you're seated at a table or waiting for one to open up. If we were told it would be about 55 minutes from when we were seated to when we'd get our food, we would have declined the table. This is why I think it's important for the greeters to not seat people until they're actually ready to be fully served.

My son Tom and I went to Hopcat for a late lunch. The food was amazing, as was the service. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich which had the right amount of heat and my son got the fish and chips which he enjoyed very much. The atmosphere is friendly and it is a place I will go back to!

Terrible Fish n Chip dinner greasy way too much breading and kicker they use pollock versus cod only because pollock is a much cheaper fish Meal including fries was grease 101 expected much better Won't be going back

KRISTIN!! I HAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOU (a good one) I went to Hopcat last night with my friend, and MAN OH MAN! This beautiful lady was our server. And when I tell you I wanted her to sit down and hangout with us, I DID! She was AWESOME! I had a blast with her!! Everyone go there and ASK FOR KRISTEN!! She will brighten your day up!! We You Kristen!! Great service, quick, easy, nice and all around just what a good waitress is made up of!! We need more gals like her!

I went here for lunch during the week and I'll definitely be going back. I ordered the pickleback chicken and it was amazing.

Kristin was an absolute delight to have as a waitress. She was very attentive, funny, outgoing, and very helpful. She did an amazing job and I will definitely be coming back.

Came during Sunday brunch, love love love the Royal Oak location but this one is closer to my house, I didn't see any loaded fries on the brunch menu so I asked the bartender when I ordered my drink if it was possible to get them, she went and asked the kitchen in which they came out with some right away. Talk about prompt service except the fries were so soggy mushy, like half fried still cold in the middle, I ate the more cooked ones and left the mush. Next I got the salad, presentation can't be all that with a salad, it's a salad. But I do wish if you advertise that you make your own croutons that I got more than 3 of them off to the side of the plate. The grilled chicken was awesome with that char flavor as well as the dressing. Bartenders were also awesome, there was a more masc lesbian bartender (sorry to put so bluntly I didn't get a name) who was absolutely kicking ass and made sure my drink was full. Id give this location another try before I just stay going to Royal Oak

Food was cold when brought to us but I don't think it was the kitchen. The bartenders were both very rude. Not only did they give my iced tea to someone else , but after 30 min we were waiting on the drink the bartender took it from the guy she gave it to and gave it to me. Like WHAT!!!?? Who does that? So my drink sat in front of someone for 30 min and you want to give that drink to me n not a fresh one. The whole time she was complaining that she had been there all day everytime I asked for something she wouldn't bring it. And the other bar tender was just as mad and rude. When they took a break from talking to eachother the randomly came to help some people but would not look around the bar. It was just a mess, cold food, bad service. I'm sure it a like this a lot at this location.

Food average at best. Service very, very slow. Had to ask repeatedly for about everything. Won't be going back.

Quickly seated and our server was super nice. I wish I remembered his name but he was really cool. Food was exactly how I expected. It was a little loud inside tho I felt like I couldn't really have a conversation. Good vibes though.

Unfortunately my first review has to be a poor one. It started off strong by our waitress giving us drinks and apps quickly. The drinks kept flowing. After that we placed our orders and proceeded to wait 45 minutes for 3 of the same order of quesadillas. The food was sub-par at best. Overall, the atmosphere was whatever with some crying kids and the people working here are very lazy and forgetful. 2/3 chairs at the table were in need of repair. I will not be returning to this place after back to back terrible experiences. Do not recommend.

This was our first time trying HopCat. We were very happy. Our waitress, Kristin, was very friendly and helpful. The food was great. My husband and i eash got a mixed drink. They were very tasty. We will be returning. Hopefully soon.

Service was not good. All the food was very salty and had way too much pepper. Appetizers also took forever to come out. The drinks were fine.

Would not go again.. first time going to a hopcat. We were a group of 5. We were seated by the bar. That's fine but it was very loud.. my grandson was holding his ears. I didn't make any complaints because I was trying to enjoy the company of family.. first off it took a long time for food to arrive..I got their burger and asked for a single instead of the menu offer of a 2 patty when I received it, it had no sauce and you could tell that the second patty was just peeled off., the fries were cold my husband got something off the brunch menu ( sausage hash brown thing) he said that hash browns were burnt and the food was cold). The one thing that saved the fries were they had a good seasoning.. but I would not recommend this place and will not be going back

When I went to hopcat.. I found a pubic hair inside of my french fries this is absolutely unacceptable! The service sucked it took 30 minutes to get my food and they are always understaffed. Its crouded looks terrible and it seems like they do not run this restaurant up to code. The lights are dim in a bad way. I will never go back to this restaurant ever again.

We dined here on a Sunday afternoon and they were packed! We waited about 15min. to be seated, our food took a while to come out but everything was fresh so it was fine. We will be back.

We went on Mother's day for lunch. Thankfully it wasn't packed. Unfortunately, for the six of us, the food was nothing to write home about. All of our burgers were dry and the Mac & Cheese for the granddaughter was disgusting. Maybe the cooks were new and inexperienced. Idk. The rest in my party said they would not come back. I, myself, will give them one more try to see if the have improved. I do have to say our waitress was outstanding. I don't remember her name but I remember her hair was dark, maybe black and she said she was a trainer and had been with the company for a long time. So kudos to her.

Ordered the pretzel for an app - asked for honey mustard instead of cheese and the waitress said no problem. It comes out with just cheese. I didn't say anything, not a huge deal. We also got 0 water refills and it took 15 minutes to bring the bill after we were done with our food. The service is so bad I forgot what the food tasted like

for this place just opening, i'm super impressed! Antonio was my server and he knew the menu very well and gave great suggestions. he was super polite and everything came out correct & quickly! i got the burger and truffle fries. everything was excellent and i definitely recommend upgrading the cosmik fries to the truffle fries!!! it was very clean and cute inside. will 100% return!

There has been a definite improvement in the last few months . Glad I gave them a second chance !

If you want an AMAZING waitress, make sure you ask for Kristin!!! She was so full of energy and was a joy to talk with! She was very attentive to my table and made sure we had such a great experience! On top of our wonderful waitress, the food and beverages were delicious! We will be back!

Disappointing! We had a group of four for dinner. After finally being seated, the servers just ignored us. We finally asked a server passing by if we could get some service. She said she would be right back. She never came. We walked out and eat at another restaurant. Disappointing is an understatement.

This was my first time at this location and went with my family for Sunday brunch. I will say that the service was great and always appreciate a place where you can make online reservations since we had a bigger group (although since we went early, don't think we would have had a problem either way). However the food was really disappointing compared to my expectations for HopCat (generally am a fan). I had the Michigander breakfast Burrito and it was at least 95% just filled with hash browns (although many other ingredients listed on their menu that imagine were in there in very small quantities), which as you might expect is like eating a plain potato for breakfast. It also comes with more hash browns on the side for some reason but luckily I substituted the fries (which are always great). My husband got one of their hash dishes, and also wasn't impressed. Probably not the first place I would think of for breakfast food, so maybe just haven't figured out the menu yet or just not in their wheelhouse.

Love this place! I had an amazing experience with Porsha as our waitress!! she had some great recommendations, and the food (Mac and cheese especially) was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.
