Hopdoddy Burger Bar

My brother and I came here today for a first time experience. We barely beat the crowd. We each ordered the Blazing Pineapple margaritas and got Parmesan Truffle Fries and Hot Honey Sage Brussels to share. My brother got a Classic burger while I got an El Diablo. The burgers were fabulous and I could live on the Brussels! Neither of us liked the margarita as we felt it was too acidic or unbalanced. There was no spice to it whatsoever. Having said that, I think I have a new favorite burger joint.

You can’t go wrong with what you order at Hopdoddy! We ordered classic burgers, the wagyu burger & the double bacon jam burger. The wagyu was the best! We also ordered a side of truffle fries & the honey sage sweet potato fries, I love the sauce that comes with them! Make sure you order a cold beer to pair with your delicious meal!

Their a/c has a huge condensation problem. All of their exposed overhead air ducts were just dripping condensation and we had to switch tables. But took some family, 4 of us in total, all of em said it was the best burger they've had this year. My vegan burger was delicious and everyone couldn't get enough of the watermelon drink and lemonade and that chipotle ketchup was something nice.

Great happy hour with a variety of food options, including grass-fed burgers, pasture raised eggs, salads, fresh cut french fries, and more. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Bartenders are always kind and do a great job! Food tastes fresh.

Even on a crisp, cool afternoon sitting outside at Lil Doddy' is pleasant. The atmosphere is chill and laid back. Fire pits around help keep it warm. The food here is always great. The burgers are the best around. They are always juicy and tender. Delicious! The arugula was fresh. The fried onions gave it a nice crunch. The French fries were fries. They were ok, but the sweet potato fries were amazing. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside with the perfect amount of salt. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Visiting hopdoddy after 2 years. We got the truffle fries, wagyu burger and Nashville chicken burger. The food came out quickly. The fries were great just as before. Our burgers were delicious. Really enjoyed the crispy chicken, it was pipping hot. My only negative would be the size of the burger. It has reduced a lot and doesn't fit the price I am paying.

I'm a regular at Hopdoddy. But this was my first time at this specific location. The food was not on par with I'm used to. The Saltillo location is much better. That being said, after leaving some feedback, Josh, the General Manager refunded my meal. Absolute stellar customer service and it's one of the main reasons why I keep coming back. Things didn't work out this time but the grace given via a refund and the desire to be better is what a lot of companies are missing. Josh - thank you!

Jeff was an amazing bartender and treated me like a king! I got my food and drinks wicked fast. You can tell the staff does amazing work because it was a full bar on a Thursday afternoon. The best thing was that they were playing Bombay Bicycle Club over their music system, which is one of my favorite bands that not many people know about. 100% will return soon.

Yummy burgers and sides! Hopdoddy serves quintessential American burgers with a variety of meat and vegetarian patty options. Service is fairly quick. I usually get the vegetarian bean patty but tried the mushroom patty this time and it was quite good. The Thunderbird chicken burger was also tasty and filling, although very much deep fried and greasy. They also have kids meals that include choice of meat, side potato or sweet potato fries and a small drink. There's plenty of parking available in the lot outside this particular restaurant location.

Do NOT order the Diablo unless You have a mouth of steel. My own fault for not reading for details. I think it was the habaneros. I was drawn in my the chipotle sauce. But something did me in OMG. The pain! Thank goodness it was takeout! The pain was not pretty. Update: I survived. Took it apart and scraped off the orange habaneros.

Amazing burger as always. I got a magic Shroom burger today. It's my favorite either way goat cheese and mushroom. Bison patty is a bit dry but it's expected because it has less fat than beef. Sweet potato fries are amazing as usual

We came here for happy hour and to enjoy a drink. Even though this is a burger joint, you can't miss out on the drink specials. They have 1/2 off drinks M-T 3-6, making an excellent deal for a pop-in. We love their frozen margaritas. Their Schooner size is HUGE! Somehow, even with a large drink that takes some time to drink, it stays frozen until the last sip. Some of the best frozen margaritas in the area! The bar staff is awesome and attentive. And if you come for happy hour, you can beat the dinner rush!

Lil' Doddy is a busy place that has a casual vibe and is kid friendly. There is a bar to the left as you walk in and tv screens throughout. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating as well. Grab a menu, get in line to order and choose a table number. They'll come find you when your food is ready. We ordered the Cadillac Wagyu burger, Bacon Double Jam burger, Parmesan Truffle fries and Hot Honey & Sage fries because we couldn't choose between the two fries. Everything was great... especially the Hot Honey & Sage fries.

Very good and speedy service! The only issue was the prices. It was pretty expensive for a smaller portioned meal. Not the best burger in Austin but it was all around a good enough experience to go back again.

On an impulse I stopped at this out of the way location because I was craving a burger. Ordered a cheeseburger, chocolate shake and fries. Everything was really delicious. I so wish the had thicker cut French fries To me they taste better than skinny fries. All in all, it was ideal.

4.5 My husband decided that he wanted to order burgers for dinner on Father's Day. We placed our order online and then drove up to pick up our order. We told the person at the drive thru window the name on our order and he gave us a bag with our food. I tried a chicken bacon ranch sandwich on a wheat bun. It comes with a chicken patty, bacon, cheese, slaw, pickles, crispy onions and aioli. It was a really tasty sandwich but I noticed that it was missing the crispy onions which would have made it even better. I also tried the Parmesan truffle fries which were very flavorful. This is one of our favorite burger places to order and pick up food when we are in the area. We also don't mind sitting in the restaurant and eating there when it's not too busy. The restaurant has lots of seating inside and an area with outdoor seating as well. We will return in the future.

We came back today and had another excellent experience! When we came by this afternoon, we were able to order within minutes. Aubrey was working as the cashier and she was very friendly and helpful. The fries once again came out within minutes, and they were warm, fresh & delicious! The entrees were solid as well, and the Oreo shake was money. We will be back!

Parmesan truffle fries are always so good! Tried the hot chicken sandwich and it was good - not as good as other ones I've tried from other places. Service was great! Ambiance - way too loud with really loud music. If I were an employee, I would leave with a headache every time. Hard to have a conversation with anyone.

Sweet potato fries - order them! They are perfectly crispy and perfectly salted. Dipping sauce is a bit heavy, but ketchup also complements them perfectly. The burgers are also tasty with fresh accompaniments. The setting is pleasant enough - but it is mostly an order at the counter spot. It's the perfect place to order a drink and watch a sports game as well if you want to sit at the bar. Service is friendly and efficient.

I'm not so sure why this location is called differently from HopDoddy because it's not a "lil" location. It's actually quite spacious. But maybe it's a lab for training employees. We got our order wrong - twice. The honey sage fries were great, as always. But the burgers were off - well my husband first got chicken tenders instead of a burger and then got the wrong burger. My veggie burger definitely didn't taste right - it was either cooked on top of chicken juices or something funky that made me leave it behind.

Have you heard of the incredible happy hour at this place??? Of course there's a catch, you have to sit at the bar and the bar is small. But if you get the opportunity, you're in for real treat! The entire menu is 1/2 price. All cocktails and draft beers are served in Schooner size glasses @ $5 We had burgers and a basket of truffle fries... and I lost count on the number of schooners. But I'll definitely keep it in the books as one of the best HH's in Southwest Austin!

There's a couple things I like about this location. First this location has plenty of parking and second this burger place has a lot of different types of burgers that I don't see at other places. I love that you can make any burger a bun free salad bowl and their fries have unique options like my Nacho Fries or the fact you can order sweet potato fries. I don't drink but the drink menu is large with a full bar and seating inside is plenty, even though I'm a little short and thought the table was a little too high for me in the booth but they have tons of variety for seating including outside patio that was playing some chill reggae music. A little different about this place is you order first and then they tell you what table to sit at and will bring out your food to you. My favorite burger is still one I had in the past called the Thunderbird. I think they have a unique menu and great pricing.

TBH, I've put off coming to this place since they opened. I didn't understand why they wouldn't just give us a Hop Doddy like up north. I had the notion that this place would be a sad version of the original Hop Doddy. Well, with no where else to go, we stopped by. This place is amazing. The service was great. The line moved pretty quickly, and tables didn't take too long to turn over. And a staff member actually found you a table while in line! By the time you get to the counter to order and pay, you hand them your table number, place your order, then go take a seat. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was buzzing. Great experience all around. Be sure to order sweet potato fries and the honey sage Brussels. Yum!

Great happy hour spot! Wow the margaritas are STRONG! I had one and that's all I needed. I also had the beer cheese and pretzels, which were great. Pro-tip- there's a lot of beer cheese and not as many pretzels so buy the fries that are also on happy hour and dip them in the beer cheese too. We've had the poblano burger and the chicken tenders lately and both were delish. Their Paloma also hits the spot. Specialty cocktails, margs, and some bites are $5 on HH.

Kind of noisy or loud music in the background. When it's indoor, watch out for the condensation from the pipe up in the ceiling dripping. Outside can be kind noisy and hot and humid. Food is ok.

Love Hop Doddy's burgers because every single one is made with care you taste every ingredient even though it's on the pricer end I think the highlights for me are the fries which make it feel worth not your everyday burger spot however you get the quality that you can actually experience and notice

Ahh.. how I remember the early days of HopDoddy down on South Congress Avenue. As we used to do frequently back then, we were on our way for some Silver Train Margaritas at Guero's and noticed folks queuing up on the pavement. Upon further investigation, the line was for Hop's. They were getting some great press, the ultimate burger place and 40mins to 1 hr waits. Yeah.. not for us. Burger is a burger in my eyes and in my youth I worked at the Burger Chef on S. Lamar. Meanwhile back in our hood, a couple of years ago up popped Lil'Doddy Burger Lab. We paid no mind, until we happened to meet a very engaging, fiesty young lady at the bar in our neighborhood favorite Mexican joint. She had been working at Hop's for years and was a trainer or some sort. We laughed had a drink or two and promised to visit. Which we eventually did. Upon our first arrival, there was plenty of parking and the interior was much larger than it looked from the outside. You are greated by a large bar on the left and dining tables on the right. We took our usual place at the bar and picked up a menu. Pretty diverse selection here. From Hot Nashville Chicky sammies, to many different Burger types, shakes and a fairly large array of French Frie's in bowls. It was definitely a reminder of my age when looking at a $13.95 burger from the days of a 60 cent Super Shef from Burger Chef.. :) We opted for a fry bowl, seemed the thing to do and split a Llano Poblano burger on this visit. The Parmesan Truffle fries were tasty, crisp and thin. Lots of flavor and easily enough for the both of us. Llano burger was sloppy, dripping with Chipolte Aioli goodness. Very tasty indeed. We enjoyed a couple of Margarita's and casual conversation with folks at the bar. Having a full bar is a nice touch. We have been back several times, if not just for a night cap and some fries. There are some items I keep forgetting to try, the Hot Chicky sammie looks like something I need to get my teeth into on our next visit. Would I wait in line to get in...seriously doubt it. Luckily we haven't run into that challenge yet, but they seem to be hopping most of the time we drop by.

I wanted to give Hop Doddy another chance since I had a not so great experience at the South Congress location. I'm so glad that this locations customer service was 10x time better! The bartender was really sweet and I loved the strawberry margarita! Most of their drinks are so delicious. I ordered a burger this time. I got The Llano Pablano and a order of large fries (why not :)) the burger was very well balanced and the beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. I enjoyed the toppings and added an egg--simple and a classic well done, literally. My food definitely should have came out hot but it didn't. I hmmm hoping this was a one time error. The presentation of the burger could have been better as well. I got my food to go and plated it at home!

I got an order to go and was disappointed when I got home with my food. I realized my fries would be a little cold (put in air fryer) but my burger was well done. I ordered it cooked medium rare and I realized it would keep cooking but it was wayyyy too done for my liking.

The main complaint that I have of this lil doddy is that there's too much Hopdoddy stuff everywhere especially on the menus. I thought this was going to be a miniature version of hopdoddy but was rudely disappointed. The food was aight and the service was good but I was disappointed.

WAY OVER PRICED.....!!! Line cooks cant cook a medium hamburger. Small..and just basic taste $54.00. For two people... Will NOT be returning....sad

Worst food poisoning of my life, will spare you the details. Just went there last night and had a few cocktails and a wagyu burger. PLEASE steer clear of the wagyu, for some reason it made me incredibly sick and it lasted all night. No one else I was with got sick and I was the only one to order wagyu. Food was okay but after getting so sick I doubt I'll go back.

I've been wanting to try Lil'Doddy for a while now and finally did. My order came out super quick. To start I got the Parmesan Truffle Fries. This was basically just fries with Parmesan, salt, chives, and truffle oil with truffle aioli sauce served on the side. The fries were okay, but nothing exceptional. There were signs all over the restaurant for the Truffle Mac Burger and it looked really good in the picture so I wanted to try it. This burger had a thick beef patty with tomato, arugula, caramelized onions, and truffle macaroni and cheese with truffle aioli. It was good but I was expecting more creamy truffle macaroni and cheese since what I got doesn't really look like what's on the advertisement. I also got the Ahi Tuna Burger. It basically tastes like sushi in burger form. The burger had ahi tuna that's seared rare with lettuce, tomato, crispy nori chips, teriyaki sauce, mayo, and cucumber wasabi with ginger on top. Overall, the food here was good, but I wasn't particularly wowed.

My son has been recommending this place to me for some time, so I thought I would give it a whirl. I am old, so I am not a fan of counter ordering, but the staff came to my assistance as soon as I walked in, and the whole ordering process was a breeze! I ordered the Llano poblano cheeseburger, fries, and an old-fashioned. My order arrived fresh and hot, beautifully presented. The burger tasted just as good as it looks ,- hot ,fresh , juicy ; amazing combination of flavors , could definitely taste the poblano pepper! The fries were delicious, they appear to have some kind of herb on them, but I did not ask what it was. The old-fashioned was lovely . I will definitely be coming back again, I want to try some of the other hamburgers on the menu, especially a spicy one that caught my eye.

The Doddy Melt double meat on rye with grilled onion topped off with Thirsty Goat was tasty good. However the loaded brussel sprouts are a no go because just leaves. Next big no was a medium rare kid's cheese burger. The staff did address the under cooked meat & served a new burger for my daughter in a timely manner. If sitting outside, ask for a fire pit table when it is cold or cool.

This place used to be great. No more. I was extremely disappointed when I ate there recently. The food costs twice as much as it once did and it's half as good. I don't mind paying more for quality. Sadly, that wasn't my experience. Chicken strips were tough, stringy, and minimally battered. I got half a tiny container of their sauce. No second chances; I will not be back.

I recently had the pleasure of trying a bison burger at Lil Doddy Burger Lab. I ordered the bison burger. The meat was a bit dry but the condiments added a flavorful and savory taste. It packed a punch in my mouth. I had my bison burger in the el diablo style and can say it packs heat! But the real standout feature of this burger was the bun. It was soft and pillowy, with a subtle sweetness that complemented the bold flavor of the bison meat. I would recommend this bison burger to anyone who is looking to try something new and delicious. It's a great source of protein and a healthy option for all you health freaks! I can't wait to go back and try it again! The service was also very fast and attentive and our food came out in a decent amount of time. One thing that I appreciate is that this establishment had a killer music playlist. It made my eating experience more enjoyable!

my fries arrived had obviously been under a heatlamp a while. burger dry over done. I said no cheese it had cheese. They replaced it promptly. Nothing special at all way overpriced for what it was. My wife had the Ahi Tuna burger. The patty was like finely ground SPAM. We honestly would have never guessed it was fish, in fact it had no taste at all , overcooked, dry just like my burger. Her tuna, sweet potato fries, and a glass of wine came to almost 40 dollars with a tip. Rip Off.

Honestly great quality but after changing their menu they got rid of most of their good stuff, so now it's kinda just meh on the options. Sad but if you still like their variety I'm glad you can enjoy that kind of taste palette ! definitely can find good quality burgers elsewhere but it's okay

Stil a decent spot for a burger and beer. Went for the gluten free option of a bowl this time. Just as tasty and satisfying as a burger!

The food was great, no complaints there... However this is my third negative experience with the same worker. She has been impatient and snobby when something has been misheard due to the loud music, as well as speaking to me, a customer, with a condescending tone. Not cool Lil Doddy!

I've been to this location a handful times and I usually always go through the drive thru and I usually always have to go inside because they forgot to put something in my bag. Their food is really good. I like that I can customize my burger and get chicken, veggie or beyond Burgers. I was pleasantly surprised when my chicken burger was made with ground chicken. The shakes are really good and I have had all their fries. Sweet potato and truffle fries are my favorite. I highly recommend this place if you go through the drive thru just check your bag before pulling off. The people are super friendly.

First time here and it was good. I ordered the Classic but forgot to ask what spread was in it. Well mayo and honey mustered. I could have done without honey mustered. My fault. I add some truffle fries and that was yummy. The dip for me had I think too much black pepper. Also added some Parmesan to it and made even better(yummier).

First time visit last week and it was great. This location is practicing safety measures with visible signs and all staff wore face masks. The staff was polite, courteous and service was prompt. Hubby and I both had the Llano Pablano burger - amazing - along with frozen strawberry margarita - delicious! Overall great experience - I plan to come back soon; I do recommend!

We've been here several times. The burgers are good. Had the magic shroom bowl as a gluten free option. Fries are great. Beer, wine, and cocktails available. Dog friendly on the patio. Always busy.

Whoa, William Cannon is now cool enough to host an outpost of Hopdoddy? All right, I'll visit. They do have options for vegetarians. I had the "el bandito" veggie burger which was a bean and corn patty with guac, goat cheese, arugula, and chipotle aioli. In addition to ketchup and mustard, they have a chipotle ketchup. The bun was soft, and the patty was a inch wider than the bun. That UFO looking veggie burger was fun. We had sweet potato fries, I think, also quite good.

Came here to grab a bite outside and watch the nba on their first night back. Was glad to see tables were all reasonably spaced apart (both inside and out) and that their safety procedures seemed to be followed by both employees and patrons. Their burger selection is pretty diverse, was caught between el Diablo and the ahi tuna burger but decided to with el Diablo. The burger was super juicy, and I loved the balance between the peppers along with the cheese and caramelized onions. For the size of the burger the prices all felt pretty reasonable (mostly in the 8-12$ range). The service was very fast and friendly, they also did a great job of keeping up he location clean and making us feel comfortable in what can be an uncomfortable experience eating out. Between that and the several interesting burger options I can definitely see myself coming back here.

The specialty burgers here sound great but usually have at least one ingredient that I don't care for (like goat cheese or habanero peppers). Their "regular" burger has lettuce, onions, tomato and mayonnaise. I like my burgers well done. They do have a tendency to get dry (which I don't mind nearly as much as I mind any pink showing). Not here though. They cook their burgers perfectly and do it so that they're really moist and juicy. The bun is very fresh and different from most buns you'll get at other burger places. There's a reason this place is usually quite busy. Not only is their food fresh and tasty, their staff are always nice and friendly. Definitely worth a try!

This place is going downhill. Past two orders have been wrong. This last time, the queso was actually pimento cheese consistency. I tried heating it up in the micro and it only made it warmer. Literally zero change in consistency.

Visiting Austin from out of state and this was highly recommended. I had the Llano Poblano Burger and it was very good. The Parmesan Truffle and Green Chile Queso Fries were great. We went at night and the ambiance was very relaxed. Low lights and good conversations.

This location is not busy and their menu is the same as hopdoddy, so why not? Came here on a weeknight and asked to be seated outside. fast food and service. I do wish my fries were a little warmer, but the truffle parm fries are what i come here for (plus the special aioli dip!) I got the llano poblano and it's great, as always. the bun is perfect.

Good to note that you cannot order through the window - the window is only for pick up. It would be great if employees can deliver this information to any who drives up and seems confused and unaware of you rules in a nice and respectful way and without a huge attitude. I ended leaving without ordering because the attitude was so intense you could cut it with a knife.

Staff is nice, vibe is cool but food over priced and food is pretty mid, left desires to be had but all in all MID

Lil' doddy made our birthday celebration awesome! We ordered many items on line from burgers to a bowl... when I picked it up, the order was correct and on time!

ordered for delivery- no dressing for the salad and for some reason they are still not able to read what I want on my burger. Last time it was burnt and wrong. This time just cold and wrong. Maybe it is better if you go in person but I definitely do not recommend delivery even expedited (which is what I paid for).
