Hopscotch Craft Beer and Whiskey

Writing this review after my third visit and each time has been exceptional all the way from the initial greeting from our host, to the incredible food, mixed drinks, in-house craft IPA / beer and general atmosphere/decor. Service here is top-notch, the drink & food menu is such a nice addition, and the taste of everything is 11/10, some of the best food I’ve had especially for a craft beer & whiskey establishment ! Can’t say more for now other than that I will be back here many more times, as this spot shines in Downtown Fullerton and is my #1 bar pick at the moment.

Nice environment inside and outside on the patio. The food was good and came with great sauces. The mxed drink was the right amount of sweetness for me and tasted delicious.

For apetizer, Bacon wrapped dates taste good. #13.Hopscotch hoppy dopa licious (IPA) is good.

My husband and I happened upon Hopscotch as we were out walking on date night and figured we'd stop in. Everyone who worked there were very nice and the drinks were great. I would definitely go back. We didn't get food, just a couple of drinks at the bar. I got a yummy Last Word and my husband got a bourbon drink.

My favorite spot in Downtown Fullerton! Patio was packed on a summer night so make reservations! The Back in Black cocktail was delicious and strong. Lobster Poboy was buttery deliciousness. The Korean style short rib sandwich was divine. A bit on the loud side inside so if you want to have deep conversations here, be prepared to shout!

4/12/2025 Met here to attend a Ghost Walk for Downtown Fullerton. (Was extremely fun! Interesting as well as informative.) The building 'Hopscotch Craft Beer and Whiskey' does business in, owned by Bryan Gonzales is historically the first train depot in Fullerton. My companion and myself grabbed a few drinks. With a multitude of alcohols both "well" and name brand. There was a big selection to choose from. Drinks were great. Staff were excellent. Customer service was on point. Facilties were clean and well maintained. They had photo opportunities. And I think a few games. Definitely a 5-star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Hopscotch Craft Beer and Whiskey! Fun place on a Friday night. Gets bz after 8:30pm. Alyssa at the bar was awesome 👌 she gave my extra touch 😋. She was bz but helpful. I will go back bcoz of Alyssa! Keep entrance area a bit open so ez to enter. But, nice drinks by Alyssa!

Hopscotch craft beer and whiskey. If you're in the mood for a good drink and a little relaxing cigar on the patio then stop by Hopscotch craft beer whiskey in Fullerton. They have a great selection of whiskeys and Craft beers in a relaxing atmosphere with a fun staff. Located on main Street in Fullerton you'll have many Restaurant and Bar choices to make it a perfect night.

I ordered Waffle Fries, Buffalo Wings, Cajun French Fries, and Cookie skillet The Waffle fries were hot and crunchy, and the curry ketchup compliments the fries well. I wish it came with more fries for the money. The quantity is like a large fry from Chic fil a. The Cajun Fries were hot and crunchy, the quantity was a good and shareable, the only thing I wish was for another sauce. I would recommend to order these over the waffle fries if you have a group due to the size. But if you're ordering for yourself, waffle fries are better. The Buffalo wings were really good, nice big meaty wings, but for the price it should come with at least 4 more. If you are ordering for yourself, I would recommend these. The Cookie skillet came out nice and hot, it tasted really good. It was really good flavor with a nice vanilla ice cream on top. I would recommend to order this if you're sharing this for 2 people. All of the drinks were nice and cold, overall I would recommend to come here. Overall I gave it a 4 star because of the quantity of food for the prices. The ambiance is nice and casual with good music. The service was great and got my food fast.

Everyone hyped this place up. Idk. I didn't really get it. It was alright drinks. We got Grandma Apple Pie whiskey drink which consisted of bourbon, lemon, cinnamon, egg whites and pear liqueur. And an old fashioned. Neither of them really stood out. And with the price (which again wasn't too bad compared to other areas), it didn't make it any better. It was pretty early in the night when we got here. Around 9pm I believe and it was just starting to pick up. Service felt more like it was 1am and the bartenders energy felt like they were annoyed and over it. The lower bar was closed to a private party and so everyone had to keep to the bar area and outside patio and we were packed in. It's a great list of whiskey. And I would come back during a less hectic night to try the whiskey and chill out.

Beer: Hanger 24 Chocolate Bomber Porter - It's rich, smooth, and deeply satisfying. At 8.0% ABV, it delivers a bold kick without overwhelming the chocolatey malt profile. The roasted cocoa notes are well-balanced with a subtle bitterness, making each sip feel indulgent but drinkable. I won't mind if this is my "go-to" when going back. Service: It's pretty straightforward. You walk up to the bar and order your drink. People go around to clear the empty tables, but the place is overall pretty laid back. Ambiance: It's on the darker end for bars that offer an outdoor patio, which many guests prefer. The center of the bar doubles as a dance floor, given the DJ booth that was unoccupied when I was there. I positioned myself in the quieter 3rd segment with tables to sit and chat with friends.

Our favorite dish were the bacon wrapped dates. The presentation isnt great but they are sooo good. The hamburger sliders were ok; they were just sliders, no extra flar. The heart attack fries with chicken were good but were overpowered by the chicken. It was more chicken than fries. We are locals and have gone multiple times. The food can be hit or miss but we'll have it every now and then.

Came here for a friend's birthday and had a great time. The music was great, the food was great, and the drinks were great. This is definitely a good spot to hang out at.

Great spot for dinner, drinks, late night bite, date night, hang out with friends or dancing. The place is great with a little bit of everything for everyone. The whisky and mixed drinks and the food was all great and with a very nice variety. The service from the bartenders to the servers to the security/ door staff was also on point. There's all night free parking at the nearby parking structure or at the back parking lot until 9pm. After 9pm you have to pay.

Can't say enough great things about our favorite Friday night spot right after having a long week at work. Yelp review ratings don't do it any justice . The staff ,Sylvie, X, bar tenders,bar backs and props to the chef for the best shrimp tacos and that's coming from someone that goes to many taco spots . The wings , shrimp rolls ( deliciously buttery), sliders are just some of the great menu items .They have a wide variety of top shelf bottles. The owners are always sooo welcoming and especially their favorite guest our little golden doodle. Our pup also looks forward to Friday nights and can't wait to go just like us . Keep Up the great work !!

This place has paid themselves more on tips twice. I budget when I go out and upon checking my statements it is not at all what I signed the total to be with the tip. This place is a scam. Ridiculous that they add more tip to checks. I wouldn't recommend this place. Very dishonest and lacks integrity. Shady bartenders.

Drinks were good and I enjoyed the vibe of the bar. Not a huge fan of the cigar smoke in our face, but what can you do about it.

Been here many time and always a breeze. They make amazing drinks and have good drink specials. Staff is very friendly and make good drinks. Highly recommend this bar. They have very good selection of Whiskeys around the world and food is pretty good too. Casual fun place to go on a date

Came here on a Friday night around 7pm. We came for a birthday party, the manager was very kind in offering the birthday boy a drink on the house. DJ set was good later in the night. Reason I give Hopscotch 2 stars is my husband has celiac, so he cannot eat gluten. When asking how they can accommodate they could only offer him a lettuce wrap burger for $20. If you have celiac, you know how frustrating that is because not only does a lettuce wrap burger not fill you but it's usually one piece of lettuce on a patty. It is 2024... many people have dietary restrictions and the fact Hopscotch doesn't have options is disappointing. Not sure if we would come back. If you have dietary restrictions do not come here.

drinks: way to overpriced but then again, it is dtf on a friday night! fish n chips are not good the smell of the fish was so strong and the batter was not crispy instead it was soggy and sad :( service: order food at the bar don't order with the servers it's a lot faster and easier! ambiance: your typical dtf experience! very clean bathrooms and felt very safe! they had a dj towards the end of my night there

Beer is bomb and the hibiscus is rly good. Everyone is really nice and it's a good vibe.

Hopscotch Tavern is located in downtown Fullerton and it's a really cute bar. I ordered the Strawberry Sunset (Mule Cocktail) and it was pretty good. It was a bit strong for me but overall not bad. I want to try their other cocktails on the menu the next time I go. We sat in the patio area and it was so nice. The bar is very big overall but I would recommend sitting outside on the patio. It's pretty loud inside with all the music but they have seating inside too. The patio was pretty crowded but it was so pretty with the lights and loved the vibes. I would totally recommend hopscotch for a date night or just a gathering with friends.

Had a friend in town and decided to stop in for drinks and dessert before dropping them back off at the hotel; dessert was amazing. Not a lot of options, but so good. The cocktails were pretty good, but I'll probs order a beer next time. Easy parking thanks to the lot behind them and super friendly staff.

Tonight my wife and I came in for her birthday. She ordered a drink that was on the menu, and on the check it was marked as a custom drink and priced higher than the menu price for the drink she got. That's not the worst part; i ordered a one ounce pour of an expensive bourbon and confirmed before he poured it that I could get a one ounce pour. He proceeded to give me a heavy pour, and I said "that's one ounce?" and he chuckled and nodded like he was just being nice and hooking it up. Long story short, the bill comes... What should've been a $50 total was $90. We were both very upset, and since it was a busy Saturday night, we didn't make a scene about it. We won't be back.

We came here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a fun place that started off more low key but at the night went on, it got packed and crazy. The manager was kind and offered our friend a free drink for his birthday. Pros: *Nice patio area *Able to accept reservations for larger parties *Wide selection of cocktails *Fun DJ set later in the night *The pretzel is delicious as are the Moscow mules. *They have cigars available for purchase. Cons: *The menu is limited for anyone with a food allergy or intolerance. *The menu seemed overpriced for some items. *It gets PACKED as the night goes on, and it's difficult to get a drink from the bar. *The service at the tables on the patio is sub par. *Parking can be limited depending on how busy it is in DTF. Do not come here if you have celiac or a gluten intolerance and you're wanting to eat- you won't have options. I also wouldn't come here for a full meal- you can find something better for a more affordable price, elsewhere. Come for cocktails, apps, and DJ.

Came here for the first time and am so upset I haven't come here before. I loved the decorations and the overall vibe. Their drinks were great, their whiskey selection was also obviously AMAZING. I will say, the food did leave something to be desired, it was just okay not anything great. I also appreciated the amount of security guards that were there, made me feel very safe! Will 100% be coming back

The one and only Must go bar in Fullerton!!! Love everything about them. Lots of parking spots available before 9 pm. The list of my favorite cocktails is loooooong but all time fave is old-fashion! Their food menu is super diverse and the quality is exceptional! Man, best burger in so-cal for sure! Bar tenders are so professional and know their business! Saturday nights they have DJ at 10pm and it gets pretty good vibe.

The food is so bad it's not really worth commenting on in-detail. At a table of six we all got entrées and a few appetizers, and assortment of burgers, nachos, cauliflower bites, sliders. Food was just not very good. And mediocre food at a great tavern is a big miss. Service is fast and friendly, as busy as they were they were always on point with checking in and keeping the drinks going . The beer and whiskey selection is phenomenal. Everybody got something they liked. Would definitely come back for drinks, but would not bother with the food. Music was a little loud and got progressively louder on the outside, but it was a Friday night. The inside did a weird thing where it sort of changed into a "Dancefloor" but nobody was dancing, and there were tons of dance lights and a DJ. Not really my thing, but I'm sure plenty of people are into it.

Pretty hip whiskey bar. They were playing 2000s R&B like usher and Mariah but also current R&B artists. They had a throne with a neon sign downstairs, an outdoors with heaters, and indoors with lots of western relics. Something for everyone. I'd definitely recommend going on a weekday it was chill and no line for drinks. I'm coming back this weekend though to see!

This is a great place for a drink and if you're in the dancing mood, there is a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm not sure about other nights. The whiskey selection is impressive. The line at the bar can sometimes get a bit lengthy.

Happy Hour food and non alcoholic drinks were overpriced! The bar tender offered to make a non alcoholic drink and charge $10 for a cucumber with lime,too much.

I gotta start off by saying, I've always been apprehensive of the Fullerton area. It's never been my area to visit, but when my friend showed me the whiskey and beer, I knew I had to try it out. We visited on Saturday evening around 7pm. It wasn't busy, so we were sat on the patio area fairly quickly. I have a new love for whiskey and didn't know what to try on the menu. I ended up going with the Rye or Die and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It was a flavorful mixture of coffee and whiskey, which are two of my favorites. With one, I was definitely in a much better mood then when I got there. My friend went with a beee and we ordered the short rib poutine fries to snack on. The fries were really good. I wish they had a larger size of them. Our server Silvi ended up finishing her our shift before we planned on being done, but we closed our tab with her. We were tempted to order more, but the waitress that was covering us after her didn't stop by. That was a bit disappointing, but we ended up deciding to try another local spot. Despite that, I was recommend this spot to any whiskey lover. I definitely plan on visiting this spot again because their wall and selection looked like a dream.

It's a very quaint bar in DT Fullerton. Your Orders are taken at the bar and delivered to your table. The drinks were good and the bar staff were friendly. Definitely a great place to be to have good time with a small circle of friends.

Expect to get "carded" - I was so caught off that I had to ask the bouncer 2x what he was asking me for (In my late 40s. LOL). The whiskey selection is very respectable - I have all over the world drinking whiskey - Tennessee, Ireland, Scotland, etc. Had a high end whiskey "neat" and an Old Fashioned (I think "well" is Old Forrester) - didn't come with the cherry, but they were more than happy to get one. Did not eat any food.

Service - 5 stars - constantly checking on our party and extremely attentive Food - 5 stars (Chips and salsa, spicy edamame, shrimp tacos, and burger) excellent. Yes the spicy things are actually spicy! Drinks - 5 stars. Some whiskeys were sold out - bartender was very fast to come over and go over the current available Japanese whiskeys. 100% will come back. What a great experience! Cheers

Hopscotch is one of those places that always feels like home for my fiancé and I. Both of us are whiskey enthusiasts and we love their selection. However their true golden eggs are their cocktails...That's Amore, Laphroig Daiquiris, and Vieux Carré are a few of my favorites. The bartenders and staff are always welcoming and nice. Shout out to Allissa, Jake, Silvi, and Caesar! Besides their cocktails and spirits, the food is great too! We always like the Goat Cheese Dates and Garlic Parm Fries. If you want to chill between drinks, there's a great open air cigar patio out back. Didn't bring a cigar? They sell them also! NOTE: We usually only go on weekdays Tues & Weds...I can't vouch for their weekend crowd.

This isn't crazy amount that I can say about this place The food: fire! Bacon wrapped dates, their wings their pretzels... everything is fire! Drinks.. their drinks i banging! Everyone one of them is awesome and their service is personal. Overall, for a bar, this place is awesome!

We got to Hopscotch just as they opened to sit on the cigar patio and drink a little tequila. The bartender was so nice and suggested a 7 Laguas Reposado that was smoooooth. He offered us both water and checked to make sure the patio was set up before we went out. Such a hospitable and relaxed atmosphere. We always visit Hopscotch when we're in California and this experience was amazing.

We usually take the train next door to go to San Diego often, and one random night we decided to go grab a drink nearby while we wait, which is in walking distance, I saw giant words "WHISKEY" which is music to my ears, I followed towards it. They serve both food and alcohol. I believe after a certain time, they start checking ID's because when it gets darker, it almost becomes like a lounge with a mini dance floor and DJ. Although this place is small, they have the main room with the bar, an additional indoor room on one side, and an outdoor patio on the other side. And let me tell you, that this place is poppin' on the weekends! But the real reason I keep coming here, is for the drinks! The bartender makes amazing drinks and not to mention STRONG drinks! The stronger, the better, in my book. They got a wide selection of my favorite whiskeys and many more to offer! We keep coming back again and again! Great place to get your drink on and not get too wild. Nothing but good vibes.

Didnt have my current Id since I lost my wallet, had my expired one which hasn't been a problem until this security told me to pay 20 dollars cash to get in. Bro really tried to hustle me, what a joke they let staff get away with this Update: My problem wasn't being turned down like I said in our messages. My problem is your employee asking for cash to get in (didn't take my Zelle offer because there would of been evidence) Then you go and call me a liar saying the whole thing never happened

I heard about Hopscotch through a friend. They are open late, so one day during my restaurant hopping adventures (If drinking and hopping = Crawl, then is eating and hopping = Roll? I wonder.) I decided to stop in. I sat with Jake. He recommended an Old Fashioned. Roxy also assisted me during my stay. She recommended Spicy Beef, and Spinach Empanadas as appetizers and Ribeye as an entree. I asked for it without any sides. Old Fashioned was strong yet delicious! Not bitter, not too sweet and without the burn of Whiskey! Very good Empanadas, surprisingly. Spicy beef was my favorite! Steak was well prepared. It arrived sizzling on a skillet. Maintained the warmth in the meat for a long time! I will definitely return to this restaurant to check out the other cool whiskey's on display in their bar area and their other food items. You should too!

This is a good hang out spot for the weekend and with friends. The bartenders are nice and friendly. Their cocktail/beer list is actually pretty decent, I'd highly recommend stopping by!

Dude I LOVE WHISKY... come here if you do to. ALL WHISKY BAR. I came here on a Thursday evening that's my day off. And decided to bar hop. Once you walk in it's beautiful the style the furniture everything is clean it's not hot inside it's fresh. There's plenty of patio seating in front and back. This is a great place if you want to hang out with your friends go on a date or even bring your mom and dad it's a real dim setting. Welcoming friendly environment all the whiskey drinks are awesome. The bartenders even the security guard give out a really good vibe and so you feel like you matter and you're going to have a good time thank you for the wonderful service everyone. I'll be back

0 stars. Absolute worse service. Bartenders are not friendly whatsoever and no one is willing to help. I had to ask for plates multiple times and the final time I asked the bus boy said "do you need anything else? ... are you sure.... Anything?" As if I should not ever ask for anything again. We literally had appetizers I asked for small plates to share that's it. And he acted as if I was asking for the world. THIS PLACE SUCKS. Better service, food and better drinks at Stubriks a couple doors down.

I love this whiskey bar in downtown Fullerton (only for drinks!) It has such a Midwest homely feel and it's great for catching up with a friend or watching sports games. The selection of cocktails is multitier. They have flights of whiskey to choose from, bar tender speciality cocktails of which I love (PB&J and also Rosemarys baby), royalty cocktails, mule cocktails and classic cocktails! Sadly, the food is not tasty and is two star, so only fo here for drinks!

Enjoyed appetizers and a beer at Hopscotch on a Friday night around 7. My date and I had no trouble getting a table. We sat outside near a heater and ordered our drinks. I had the one pale ale on draft and he had a vodka cocktail. For apps, we ordered Brussels sprouts and chicken wings. The sweet and spicy chicken wings are really good and gave me a Korean fried chicken vibe. The Buffalo ones are just okay and pretty spicy, so thank goodness they were generous with the ranch! Overall, nice spot in downtown Fullerton with solid service and decent food.

Some friends and I were here a couple Sunday's ago. I had a tab open but decided to pay with cash at the end of the night. The bartender charged my card also, on accident. I emailed the bar the next day to let them know about the mistake. The owner, Morry, emailed me back the next day, letting me know that he would take care of the double charging error. I was impressed by how quickly he rectified the issue. I'll definitely be back. Thanks, Morry!

love it here! it's a nice atmosphere and they have great beer selection. I had a birthday celebration here and the staff helped me set it up perfectly. we ordered at the bar and walked down to where we were seated which was very spacious. :)

This is me and my Husbands go to bar! The staff is amazing from the bar tenders to the bussers! We love both outside patios, the one in the front is great to hangout with friends and the back is nice if you want to have a quiet drink and smoke! The food is absolutely phenomenal, including their spicy edamame and their giant pretzel!! And when the fish and chips are on the menu it is to DIE for! We've come here several times for Birthdays/celebrations etc.. and have never had a bad time here! Will forever love this place!

Hopscotch is a gem! The old fashioned is fantastic, and the food is exceptional. I'm still craving the sliders and empanadas. We arrived early for appetizers/drinks and left just before the club started around 10pm. Our sever was the only one working the tables, yet she managed to remain attentive and never let our glasses run dry. I really loved the lighting, decor, and rustic feel. Plan on spending over $100 on food and drinks for two if it's not happy hour.

Taste :3.8 /5 Environment: 4/5 Service：3.9/5 They offer tons of whiskies . but the bartenders are really busy and probably dont have the time to introduce to you over the weekend so you better have the ideas about the drink. Outdoor seating are available to keep a little social distance. Live DJ is available on the weekend music if more Latin style if it's ur cup of tea.

Highly recommend for any occasion and for alcohol cravings! Any of the bartenders will help you out with good decisions on food and cocktails. Ambience: 10/10
