Very cool pub… they have 30 beers on tap! Great music - light and airy. I had the Maplewood Son of Juice that was absolutely amazing! I’ll definitely return!

The Waffle Batter covered chicken was crazy delicious, and surprisingly very filling. I almost didn't have enough room for these Tilapia tacos which were 🔥. Although only a few, they do have non alcoholic drinks and the Watermelon Martini was super refreshing. Nice chill spot.

Great beer selection and decent food. Love their Monday burger & beer specials and the pretzels are delicious. Overall great local bar but service could be better.

Great location with dine in or outside seating. Enjoyed the trailer park tacos, perfect portion. French fries were excellent and stayed hot during entire meal. No wait on early Saturday night.

Very cool sports tavern with a wide range of draft beers and open air seating towards the front of the restaurant. I went on a random Tuesday to get out of the house and watch the Cubs game. Place was about half full. I bellied up to the bar and was greeted by the bartender right away. Ordered a tall draft and also ordered the chicken little sandwich with sweet potato fries. Atmosphere was great and the staff were all friendly. My food came out of the kitchen quick and was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back but here are a few reasons why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5: * Menu states that sandwiches come with your choice of side. I chose sweet potato fries and was never told there would be an upcharge for my side selection. *I was charged a surcharge of almost $2 as a credit card fee. I would have gladly paid cash had I known about this surcharge. It was a disappointing surprise after the additional surprise upcharge for my side. Would definitely recommend a visit here, just wish there was more transparency about additional fees and surcharges from the restaurant.

Garrett is awesome! We got off the plane and went to Hopsmith right away… and WOW! Service (Garrett) and the food/drinks was so amazing! This was our first time in Nashville and he gave great recs on what to do and where to go. Also, they shoot shots(liquor) through the ceiling and you throw the ice shot glass at a bell after you take it! So fun 10/10!! Thank you Garrett for a wonderful welcome to Nashville!!!!

Really good place for beers and snacks. Try their nachos. Their beers on tap were pretty good. Would recommend checking this place out!

We visited on a Sunday fall afternoon to watch the lions play. The upstairs provided a quiet alternative to the bustling downstairs! It took us a few songs to realize it, but we walked in on Britney Spears brunch while the football games were going on! This made for a fun way to watch the football games! Music during the commercials was a nice touch! Overall we had a magnificent time! Good beer menu!

The vibe is kinda cool, although it doesn't fit in with the local area. I had fun there, but I really struggled to find out what their theme was. It turns out that it was supposed to be an Australian theme. It was a cool tavern like environment with very friendly staff. They had about 30 beers on tap, including several Chicago labels and other Midwestern labels, It's a very clean and laid back place. I'd go back there any time for a cold brew. As of August 2023, they didn't have food.

Chill spot in Chicago with plenty of people watching , cold draft beer, and tasty grub for sure. Speedy food delivery but a little patience needed on drinks from the bar. Make it a stop when near by!

Service was friendly. Food and drinks were good. We had the Bbq Bacon burger with fries and the steak sliders, both solid choices. The chairs and table situation was weird though. Chairs way too short for the tables. Ask for a booth

Great drink deals for Monday Night Football. Decent crowd for a Monday game but would have thought it would have more energy for a Lions game.

Every time I come in here, bartender Joe goes above and beyond. There's not even a spicy margarita on the menu but he went out of his way to whip up the most delicious drink ever. I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone. Service is always friendly and food is amazing

Completely loved our time at Hopsmith. We didn't plan on coming but selected by random a bar to walk into on division street and this turned out to be super fun! The bar was easy to snag a spot and the bartender was nice and attentive. We ordered a few different mixed cocktails and beers and later on some chicken strips - super good by my account. Well any food late at night is good. The dance floor upstairs was super fun and the crowd was very friendly. Would for sure recommend to friends looking for a fun bar to go out to while in Chicago!

Not sure where I want to start with this place - the Bartender was great, the ambiance was great, the gumbo was better than average, the prices were fair, music was crowd-appropriate! This will be a regular stop on visits to Chicago for sure!

Been a massive fan of Hopsmith for what feels like a lifetime now, but it's always been 5 stars and continues to be. While some businesses get comfortable and can let their performance decline or let their appearance slip, Hopsmith is continually improving their menu, drinks, service, offerings, promotions, special events, appearance, and more. Just recently did they undergo a great renovation which has brought incredible new vibes into the place and freshened up their aesthetic. The food is as good as ever as well. They are constantly adding new fun food specials to their menu - they're always 10/10 too. I love you, Hop.

My company held the holiday party here on the second floor bar. It was so much fun! Bartenders were nice and attentive. The music was great and they even had karaoke. Not sure if that is a regular thing, tho! For food, we had some light bites. Tried some sliders, tater tots, and mozzarella sticks. They were good...Typical bar food. If you are looking to have a fun night, you should give this bar a try!

They forgot to include the Mac and cheese on my online order.... My 4 year old didn't eat dinner tonight. Didn't found out until I got home and opened the bag. The Philly steak was also sweet and inedible. Not sure why they would add sugar to the au jus.

Horrible. Why? We couldn't decide who was the last person to take the last shot so a drink was thrown out my hand. More than 4 groups here for a conference and this is how the night ends.

Such a fun bar to go to on my first visit to Chicago! I came on St.Patty's weekend and it was such a blast! Great music! I love that they have 2 stories!

So glad we got to stop by today for Hopsmith's happy hour. They have super good deals going right now like $5 you call its & $15 pitchers! The food was also super good. We got a Chicago burger complete with giardiniera and au jus, fried chicken sliders and nachos. Everyone enjoyed their meal! The staff was also so attentive and kind. Cannot wait to be back

Called ahead to determine if they have my Big 10 game on Peacock TV. YES, and they reserved a table for me. Thank you!!!! This will be even more important next year when the TV contracts change again for the Big 10. Service was excellent today. Very prompt and attentive. Food is just okay. Stick with the burger. Salads and soup- meh.....

Good selection of taps and amazing burgers. Seriously, this is one of the best burgers I've had at a restaurant. Bartenders were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I sampled a fair variety of beer. Good little spot for beer lovers in Near North.

Shorty stay at Saturday night. My friend found his college flag at the bar entrance and we needed to experience the new place. We had one drink before we headed to home. I don't usually choose sport bars because it's mostly too loud to hear the others, but this bar was good to chill with friends. I wish they had much more options for drinks.

This is a really nice place to have dinner and even party. During the week it's a restaurant with nice music, whereas on the weekend later at night it turns into a spot on club. This time we got the shrimp tacos and they were a good size portion and deliciously flavored. My bf got the tilapia tacos and they were very well cooked and the sauce was delicious. We also shared mozzarella sticks and they were super filling and enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend because the food was spot on but keep in mind that during the weekends is always packed and if you don't like somewhat loud music, this is NOT your spot. Lastly, it always gets super cramped so be careful!

Music choice is random, went from TikTok audios to sad songs, to hype T-Pain throwbacks. The food is decent! Not anything amazingly iconic but they can do a good burger. My best note about this place is the fun ($6) Photo Booth in the back.

Here's the deal... I attended a work event. It was a packed upstairs bar. The staff did their best. Good beer and good finger food. The night went on. The crowd thinned out. It was time to leave, but my coat was missing. In the same location was a coat that looked and was sized the same, but not mine. I asked the staff and they were incredibly supportive. Louie came to the rescue. He recognized that the remaining coat was possibly the owner of the person who inadvertently took mine. He took the coat, took my number, and text me he would be on the outlook. I thought I was out a nice coat. Later that evening I received a text from Louie that my coat was retuned. WOW, just WOW! The attention to detail and truly great service was impressive. To the owners of Hopsmith, you have a good staff and really great coworker. Give that guy a shot and a raise!

I love going to Hopsmith especially on a night out! They usually play great music (throwbacks) that I love!! It's the perfect bar to end the night as it gets busy closer towards after 1am. The manager is super nice too he was so welcoming!!

While the place is nice, and the selection of food and beer is good, charging 4% extra for payments by credit cards just isn't going to bring me back.

A friend suggested we meet at Hopsmith Tavern for a drink and some snacks while my boyfriend and I were visiting Chicago last summer. I'm so glad he recommended this place, because we had a great experience at this Michigan State bar. There were only a few other people inside when we were there, so we got to sit next to a big open window, which was great. I don't think they have any outdoor seating but this was a good compromise during the warmer months. The bartender serving us was really friendly and gave some good recommendations for food. I had a pineapple mojito which was very tasty and refreshing, and not too sweet. We ordered nachos with chicken and their huge mozzarella sticks. The nachos were piled with toppings and I didn't see many naked chips, which was definitely a plus. I like my nachos pretty smothered. All the toppings were fresh and the chicken wasn't dry. I loved that they had shredded cheese AND queso! I'd definitely get them again and it was a huge portion. Overall I was really happy with our quick stop here and would go again next time I'm in the area.

Went on a Saturday night at 6 to get food and the bar was pretty full! Very good vibes and food came out so fast and good portions. The Nashville hot chopped salad was really good and came w a lot of chicken. The fries are also very crispy

You're hot from waking along the lakeshore, and stop in here for a beer. Of course it's icy cold and delicious but what will surprise you is how positively fresh and yummy the wraps and tacos and salads are at Hopsmith. In the appetizer menu, you've got to have the Chicken and Waffle Bites!! Wowsa!

Higher sports bar, located near the Gold Coast. As far as places in the area go, it's one of the more reasonably priced, and a good deal for your money too. I got the poutine burger which I had never seen on a menu before, but was quite good and filling. A decent beer selection, plus you can get them in the big 22oz. glasses which are convenient and last you longer before ordering another. On a personal note, we came here to celebrate my brother's engagement, and the whole staff was very friendly and accommodating to our families, and helped put out a nice decorative spread at our tables. It led to a very fun and memorable night. Parking is a bit hard in the area, you can maybe find a metered spot somewhere. The most convenient method is probably taking the red line, it's just a few blocks from the clark division stop. I'd gladly come back again in the future.

I love this place that is located near other burger and bar joints on Division!! Their burgers, even the plain, regular burger, and French fries are awesome. Service is fantastic and they have a fairly large menu. It's nice to have a casual space near the more expensive triangle restaurants that has great food!!

really good service. the staff was very attentive and welcoming. love the upstairs area. simple food-- I had the appetizer tower. Loved the garlic parm and the chimichurri boneless wings. The drinks were good.

Absolutely do not go here. The bouncer working 3/16 physically put his hands on me and pushed me out of the door without using words to communicate whatsoever. As he came at me, the first thing I said was "please don't touch me" because I saw his aggressive energy coming at me, and he ignored me and grabbed me by the hips. Everyone watching including the other bouncers were mortified but nobody did anything to help. Unsafe place to go if you are a woman.

We were in Chicago to celebrate my birthday, my two daughters and myself. We saw the Blue Man Group before checking into our hotel. We decided to grab a drink and a snack prior to shopping, seeing Christmas lights and dinner reservations. We stopped in at Hopsmith and they were packed, but seated us immediately. The server came right over and helped us with our drink selections, then we ordered their Nachos. Drinks came quickly, server was attentive, food was amazing and totally big enough for the three.

chill bar, and nice open air windows for summer time while you eat! the host was kind when we walked in! Overall had a good first time here.. we sat at the bar and the blonde bartender was pretty funny to chat with. will be back soon!

if i could vote -0 stars i would. i've been here one time and the one time my whole wallet got stolen, as well as my friends phone, as well as some random girl's phone and the cop outside said that this entire bar was going to get shut down because of all the thief that has been happening. Do not go to this bar. I am not kidding, save yourself.

Hopsmith is definitely a place I'm glad was not lost to the pandemic. It's a great mix of a sports bar that your feet won't stick to the floor and not an overpriced one you'll overpay for domestic beer. Obviously the large fat pours with a large assortment of beers on tap are a big draw. Came in on a cold night and was surprised how cold they kept the kegs, not something you see at most bars so good to know they're not cutting corners. Have had their burgers in the past and they do not disappoint

I have been wanting to try Hopsmith for a while and convinced my friends to try it out for Superbowl Sunday! I made a reservation the day before on yelp which was easy and convenient. The location is awesome for the redline and a few other bus routes and parking isn't too bad either. My friends and I all loved our drinks, we felt like they had something for everyone which was nice. The food was also great fro the price! It is tough to find a fun sports bar with quality food and Hopsmith definitely has that figured out. Our waitress was also awesome, checking in on us often, and even split the bill between all 8 of us at the end of the night. Overall great atmosphere for a game night or just a relaxed night out. Wanna come back! *Sit upstairs if you can!*

Stopped by with a great friend here for a late night drink! This spot and the surrounding spots had tents outside for people to dine/drink in, however it got down to the 30s when we visited so we chose to sit inside. We noticed heaters but I guess they weren't an option that night- no big deal. Now that the weather is getting nicer, the tents are an awesome option and have so much space for people to spread out! Out bar tender was fun and all the staff here were wearing masks. That's always great to see as well as the covid social distancing reminders throughout. It was crazy however to see this spot so empty on a Saturday night. Usually it would be packed! The atmosphere is very chill and you could really order anything you wanted here. I got a Prairie Path beer from Two Brothers and it was simply all I wanted. My friend got the mule and she really enjoyed hers! She said it was refreshing and liked how strong the lime was. They have your usual bar food items here to munch on. We just stopped in for drinks but the nachos sounded so good. We'll be back here if we are in this area again!

Very rude bouncers! My friends tried to get in on a Friday night and we're turned away for "flat" shoes. Absolutely lies - thinly veiled racism, basic girls were getting in with flip flops and ratty sneakers - and two gorgeous, fabulous women of color were turned away in their stylish flats. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

It has been a while, but each time Hopsmith does not disappoint as a staple neighborhood Pub. The food is suprisingly tasty, portions are generous, and bar staff is the epitome of midwest-friendly folks! Should have taken picture of classic cheeseburger with sweet potato fries but I was hungry, so I ate it before the thought crossed my mind. Kudos to the Kitchen for creating a nice diverse menu and well presented plates. Food for value is definitely here. They keep late hours from noon to nearly 4am so never fear, Hopsmith's there for ya in those hangry vulturous hours with no compromise to the menu when food options elsewhere are not as plentiful. I also appreciate that the restrooms are on the same level as the main bar, not in the basement as is common in the City. Yes it matters so you dont miss too much Gametime during football Season! Locals: Seasonally pay attention to mid-week pop up events like gingerbread house building, pictures with Santa, and some crafty fun which give it the neighborhood vibe I love!

A fun bar with good bar food. We got the nachos that are pictured- they were decent, but the chicken tasted like it had been frozen. The pretzel bites weren't pictured but were much better and very tasty!! Good service too

Where do I start. I love Hopsmith, I think it's excellent and I'm British so I know my way round pubs let me tell ya. Hopsmith is like the triple threat of bars, you have great beer, great food as well as great music on a Saturday night around 1:47am. It's like a classier college bar on a Saturday evening, getting upstairs is an absolute must. I just wish it wasn't a Michigan state bar, but let's be real.. nobody's perfect. I really like the tacos as well as the chicken waffle bites. My normal go to is the quinoa bowl with carne asada. Big fan of Hopsmith, it wouldn't feel like home without Mollie, Patrick, Rosa and Steele being 10/10!

They have amazing chicken wings, tacos, and burgers! Place is extremely crowded and loud and be ready for a 20+ min wait time just to get in.

Nicole is so amazing! she is so social and attentive, and always makes my time enjoyable. She's a big reason i keep coming back! The new hostess, Andrea is such a nice girl too!!! Love this bar!!!!!!! slay!!!!!!
