Yelp
Came here last night for Nacho Week. Even though everout has then listed for having takeout, when we got there, they told us no take out and then told us it was part of their agreement that they couldn't take out.... They then told us, repeatedly, that it was "in person event", as if that somehow changed things. Ya, we're here, in person. We showed them the website that said yes to take out, and then they said their manager was aware of it and they were trying to get it fixed...
Obviously other companies are doing take out, so blaming it somewhere else is bunk. But more over, we're here. Standing in front of you. Ready to buy nachos. Nothing else right now matters but your business and us, the customers. We've driven out here to get the nachos. There are two paths you can take, tell us that you aren't supposed to but since we're here, you'll do it. You can even charge us for a takeout box, explain that it wasn't counted in the costs, and we'll pay it. We're happy, we'll write a good review, tip well because you did it, etc. Or you can do what you did, which was get us to leave, without buying anything, without tipping your staff for doing nothing but putting nachos in a box instead of a plate. A box we would have paid for. I would love to understand the decision making process here, but you lost two customers who might have come back to get other food if the service was good or if we loved the food. I could almost understand the logic of "we don't make money on the nachos, it's just the Trojan horse", which is fine, but is it better than for us to take up a table and require table service that another paying customer would have taken? And you don't have to look far on my yelp to see we clearly go repeatedly back to businesses we love during food weeks to try their other foods.
