Semi-annually, my boyfriend and I come down to the Arts District to do a little barhopping and visit new bars that we've never been to before, on top of revisiting others. Horse Trailer Hideout ended up being one of them.
Hence the name, this is a rodeo themed bar, with their bartender making people's drinks inside of an actual horse trailer that can be found right smack dab in the middle of the bar, several license plates from all different states covering nearly every portion of every wall inside, and country music being played in the background. They have lots of patio seating, a few cozy couches in the front, and additional seating in the back. Above us looked like a huge piñata that was shaped like a Modelo beer can.
We looked over their specialty cocktail menu and we both got a Let That Mango cocktail, which contained Que Ri Do mango tequila, grapefruit juice, orange juice, agave syrup, and a tajin rim. The tajin rim had a bit of spice to it, where it kinda tasted like little chili peppers. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the taste of the cocktail alone. I like anything that has mango in it, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. This is a cocktail that we will have again next time we come around here anytime we're back in the Arts District.
Everyone here was super friendly and helpful. Usually when we pass by this place, there's always live music being played, but this wasn't happening this time around. They also have happy hour Monday-Friday from 2pm-6pm and again from 10pm-closing. This is a bar definitely worth checking out if you haven't been here before.
