Horsefeather Palo Alto - Review - Palo Alto - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Horsefeather, the cocktail bar and restaurant with an original location in NoPa, has opened its second outpost in Palo Alto. Expect a few new cocktails, plus similar American dishes like a cheeseburger, duck fat fries, and fried chicken. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

All the Openings to Know in the Bay Area this June 2025 | Eater SF

"A glitzy second outpost of a popular Divisadero bar, this larger Town & Country Village location mirrors the original's menu while expanding offerings and scale, delivering a similarly polished, late-night cocktail experience near the Stanford campus." - Paolo Bicchieri

Nopa’s Neighborhood Bar Graduates to Palo Alto | Eater SF

"Opening June 27 in Town & Country Village across from the Stanford campus, this new outpost brings the convivial, hospitality-forward bar experience from its San Francisco original to a suburban Palo Alto crowd. The larger footprint allows a design that blends Arts & Crafts echoes with Brutalist and Frank Lloyd Wright touches—vintage glass details, an angular wood-paneled back bar, a Brutalist mural, and a flexible wood-paneled private dining room with its own TV and sound system—so the space has more intentional "moments" and a true PDR that the narrow San Francisco shot-gun layout lacked. Many of the original hits arrive at opening, including a stacked double cheeseburger, crisp duck-fat fries topped with "duck fat snow," fried chicken and waffles, and Korean crispy wings, with plans to add lunch and weekend brunch later and to adapt the menu to local tastes. The cocktail list expands to 18 drinks with new approachable originals—highlighted by a Showpony riff on a whiskey mule dressed with ginger syrup, sarsaparilla, and salted barley—and a thoughtful nonalcoholic program exemplified by the Shorebird, which layers Aplós Calme with salted green apple cordial, verjus, and ginger-scallion oil for savory texture. Management frames the move as scalable growth rather than franchising, aiming to serve a wider demographic—from families with strollers to people coming after shows—while retaining high-level service at accessible price points." - Dianne de Guzman

Loco Moco was the best I've had. The gravy sauce on it was umami but also had a slight touch of sweet and sour (from the caramelized onion and maybe a tiny bit of vinegar?). It's different than traditional, but way better in my book. If you're very hungry, you can add a second patty for another $6 or $7. Chicken & Waffles were great too. Matcha butter sounds a bit much at first, but I'm glad we got it because it goes well with the crispy & fluffy waffles. Crispy banana/plantain + strawberry on the waffle was a nice touch too

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night at 6:30pm, grabbing a last minute open reservation. The hosts were friendly & seated us immediately. The tables have a large base, blocking the chairs from getting close, so we found ourselves having to lean in while eating. I ordered the hibiscus mezcal cocktail and it was delicious. We started with the Korean crispy wings and duck fat fries, the wings earning a special place in my heart. My main was the poke bowl, and it was good. My husband ordered the fried chicken and found himself scraping off most of the breading, which was a LOT. Not the best he’s had. Service was incredibly fast the entire night, which is typically appreciated but it did feel like we were being rushed. I recommend placing orders slowly, as a way to pace. It’s a new restaurant and I understand they may be moving quickly to receive and serve as many customers as possible. Overall okay experience. I will likely come back for the drinks & wings.

Our first visit to this newly opened bar at Town & Country. Sister bar to the one in SFO. our server Ingrid was very helpful . We ordered the duck fat fries and the roasted Cauliflower. I had the Laughing Monk Holy Ghost Pilsner which was on tap and was very light and refreshing. My friend had the Goodnight Solitaire a gin drink which was good too. We had the Roasted beet salad and the Cochinita Pibil Tacos , 3 soft tacos with roasted pork. For desert we shared the chocolate cake with Figs which was moist and delicious

Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday in Town & Country, Palo Alto. They've only been open for about a month. We went when they opened at 4pm and decided to sit at the bar. It wasn't busy at the time, but when we left it was crowded. The vibe is really nice. The three bartenders Ray, CK, and Alex were outstanding, and they made excellent cocktails. It was really fun to interact with them. For dinner, we shared the Duck Fat Fries. The fries were good, but we've had better. Maybe it's just our taste, so give them a try. We had the Prawns Tacos, and you get three. We also had the Risotto Alla Milanese. The tacos were really delicious! The Risotto was the best that I've had in a long time! We would definitely have these again, but we want to try other items next time. I would highly recommend trying Horsefeather in Palo Alto!!

The Horsefeather is a real treat in Palo Alto! First off, it is located in the Town and Country Village so parking is easy. The restaurant itself is well laid out and has great ambiance. Most importantly, the food is great. We had salads, burgers, and the Risotto Milanese....which is a must try! Also had some tasty cocktails. Highly recommend.

Google
Horsefeather is the latest upscale restaurant to land in Palo Alto’s Town & Country Village. It takes over the former spot of Bar Method and is nearby the nook of casual dining spots including Oren’s Hummus, Roost and Roast, and Sushi House. The restaurant is table service and is open for both lunch and dinner. We stopped by for lunch and it’s a great menu featuring both cocktails, interesting appetizers and diverse main courses. Pricing is moderately expensive (entrees $20-30) and probably higher than the high school demographic that often dines at the more casual options nearby. This is Horsefeather’s second branch and the new American cuisine is more an alternative to the nearby upscale Teleferic Barcelona. We tried a sampling of dishes and everything came out timely with solid portions. The fried chicken is solid and the risotto was well done. It’s a great spot to catch up with friends or to stop by when shopping at Trader Joe’s and I’m sure it will do well. 📷 Duck Fat Fries ~ $11 / Fried Chicken & Three $30 / Risotto Alla Milanese $24 Reservations are recommended although not required. Dining is indoor only. Credit cards accepted including American Express.

Just found out that the renowned SF Nopa cocktail bar, Horsefeather, had recently opened a new location at the back end of Town & Country Village in Palo Alto. After a work meeting, I stopped by with a co-worker to scope it out off-hours. After we found a parking spot behind Trader Joe's, we walked back toward Horsefeather, which had big crystal clear windows out front. Upon entering, it feels like a groovy 70s-style interior with wood paneling from ceiling to the floor and bright yellow stained glass panels. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We placed an order to share the Double Cheeseburger and Red Beets & Strawberries salad. For cocktails, the Lowrider (hibiscus mezcal, cucumber, agave, fresh lime) caught my eye and my co-worker ordered Birds of a Feather (barbados rum, blood orange aperitif, lime leaf, pineapple gomme, black cardamom, fresh lime). The Lowrider was an excellent choice; it had a deep crimson color garnished with three razor thin slices of cucumber. The flavor was sublime and refreshing with floral citrus notes. My co-worker enjoyed his Birds of a Feather. I may try that or the Breakfast Punch on my next visit. They do have some quality beers on draft such as Laughing Monk Pilsner, Almanac Sournova, Dkkaebier Yuza Blonde and some red and white wines. There are also three mocktails available for non-alcohol drinkers. The entrees of Double Cheeseburger and Red Beets & Strawberries arrived not long after, nicely plated. The cheeseburger had a heaping mound of caramelized onions and melted cheddar stacked on top of two grilled patties, which were in between the brioche buns. It was nicely cut in half for us to share. It is served with a little dish of sweet pickles and a side salad with dijon vinaigrette. The Red Beets & Strawberries is served on a bed of arugula, pistachio ailade, spicy chevre and roasted apple vinaigrette. The beets have that perfect dense texture and muted sweetness. It's sizeable enough to be a light meal. There are quite a few other menu items that I'd like to try such as the Cochinita Pibil Tacos and Risotto Alla Milanese, but that will have to wait for another day. For now, I'm excited that the Peninsula & South Bay community has one of the top SF cocktail bars closer to home. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon!

Google
I tried horsefeather for the first time many years ago in SF, and I'm so glad they opened up another location further south! The duck fat fries were delicious!! We also tried the Korean chicken wings, the double cheeseburger, the ahi tuna, and yuzu custard for dessert. I'd skip the tuna, but everything else was worth trying. A bit pricey as expected in Palo Alto, but I'd go back to try some other dishes and drinks!

Yelp
I visited Horsefeather for the first time with a friend, as this location is much more convenient than the one she typically frequents in San Francisco. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere--stylish without trying too hard, with thoughtful architectural touches that suggest someone really cared about the design. I ordered the Daywalker cocktail (twice, actually). It was smooth and well-balanced--didn't taste particularly strong, but I certainly felt the effects by the end of the evening. For my meal, I had the Miso Linguini, which was delicious--subtle, umami-rich flavors--but the portion size left something to be desired, especially given the price point. The service was excellent: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which I always appreciate. That said, I'm deducting one star because the overall experience felt overpriced for what it was. I don't mind paying for quality, but value matters too.

Yelp
Horsefeather was awesome for dinner! I made a same-day reservation on a Thursday for our party of 4. The restaurant was super busy when we arrived and finding parking was a challenge. The interior had modern, elegant decor, and we were seated at a comfortable booth. They were out of the original mocktail I wanted to try, so I got the R.H.C. This was refreshing and tasted like a twist on a mojito, although $16 for a mocktail is somewhat criminal. My friends really liked their cocktails, especially the Daywalker, Ol' Smokey, and California Cooler. For food, we ordered everything to share. We started with the Umami Fries, Korean Crispy Wings, and Deviled Eggs. All of these were fantastic! The fries were perfectly seasoned, the honey/sesame oil and house ranch on the wings were delicious, and the Deviled Eggs were also a hit. For entrees, we ordered the Risotto Alla Milanese with Lemon Butter Prawns, Miso Linguini, and Fried Chicken & Three. Again, every single item was so tasty, it was hard to pick a favorite. We slightly over-ordered, but it was worth it to try a bit of everything. Service was friendly and quick, despite the busy evening. Overall, a great experience - would happily return!

Yelp
Came in recently and started with the duck fat fries and the cauliflower; both were seriously good. The fries were perfectly crispy and rich without being greasy, and the cauliflower was super flavorful and well-seasoned. Definitely a strong start to the meal. For mains, we had the fried chicken & 3 and the miso linguini. The miso pasta was a standout; really unique flavors and surprisingly well-balanced. It's not something you find often, and they pulled it off. The fried chicken was well-seasoned and tasty, though I personally would've liked it a bit crispier. Still solid, just not quite a home run on texture. The staff was great, super friendly and welcoming throughout the whole experience.

Yelp
Was I produced to this restaurant during the Yelp Treasure Hunt but only tried one of their non alcoholic drinks. This time we came for the food. It was empty upon arrival as we were greeted, but it did get busy within the next 15 minutes. Not typically a restaurant I would eat because it did seem too fancy for me, but overall great experience. The team was great and friendly. Our server was great, but just wish the water situation was explained better lol. I realized the bottled water we got wasn't free but other than that the experience was great. The Korean wings were really good and the fried chicken was one of the best I've had. Didn't love the honey or the glaze/sauce on it too much but the chicken was cooked perfectly and was very juicy. The sliders were a miss for me due to the overpowering of the sauce which made the bun a bit soggy. Overall very solid restaurant and a must try place.

Yelp
5% surcharge. For Negroni Week 2025, they had two special cocktails: 4.7/5: The Desert Palm is a punchy white negroni with a great pandan backbone. They use a coconut/pandan cordial. From C.K. 4.0: The Night Market: bourbon, coffee infused Cappelletti, amontillado, Luxardo espresso liqueur, creme de cassis. It's quite respectable. From Finn. Food-wise: 4.7: Happy hour is all day on Monday, and 2-5 Tue-Fri. For happy hour only, the Korean cripsy chicken sliders are bomb.

Yelp
My friends and I got a dinner reservation on a Friday evening and was seated fairly quickly. There were 6 of us in a booth so it was a little tight. We shared all the food so we got to try a little bit of everything! Service was great, our server was amazing. One of my friends didn't like her drink that much and they let her swap it out for another one. - Cocktails: I got the lowrider but didn't enjoy it too much because of the mezcal. I didn't know it would be spicy haha. I tried a sip of the new Aquitaine and that was my 2nd option, much more delicious if you're looking for something tasty and easy to sip on. I tried my bf's day walker and surprised it was pretty good, I was put off by the chipotle and cinnamon on the menu but it worked together better than I thought it would. - Apps: Duck Fat Fries, Korean Crispy Wings I loved all the appetizers we got. The curry dip was interesting but worked really well! The Korean wings were really good but couldn't crispier. It was loaded in sauce that was really good but not crispy. We ordered 2 of these so the 6 of us could have 2 each. - Entrees. Miso Linguine, Risotto Alla Milanese + lemon butter prawns, Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast, Fried Chicken & Three My least favorite was the risotto because it wasn't too flavorful BUT we added lemon butter prawns and the prawns were DELICIOUS. The miso linguine was also really good, if I come back I would get miso linguine with lemon butter prawns. The chicken was good and such a huge portion but the mac n cheese was bland. I enjoyed the corn and Cole slaw though. - Dessert: Yuzu Custard, Whiskey Butter Cake, Chocolate Cake with Fig Ganache (yes we got all 3) Get the Yuzu Custard. It was so good! Very refreshing. The yuzu flavor was not too strong and worked really well with the custard. Definitely my favorite. The other 2 cakes were good too but I would definitely recommend the custard!

Yelp
First of all, to the inconsiderate and rude lady who cut in front of me while I was waiting for the hostess at the hostess stand. Please wait your turn. You can't just jump in front and try to stake claim at the bar when others would also like to be at the bar. For a fairly new restaurant, they are working out their kinks and no major mishaps had happened besides longer wait times etc. My husband and I were seated quickly once the hostess came by and we got time to review the menu. Our waiter was not around so the hostess took part of our order. We placed the remaining with our waitress. Ambiance: beautiful modern decor and fun vibes. However, very loud atmosphere. Service: hostess was super nice and welcoming. She could have been the manager. Our waitress was fine. She was nice and cordial, but maybe too quiet for the sound level the restaurant was at. Drinks: We ordered two drinks (Pilsner and New Aquitaine). The cocktail was delicious and refreshing! You can taste the alcohol in a good way. Food: I want to say some of the dishes could use some improvements. It was good but missing something. We started with the Umami fries (completely disappointed to hear the duck fat fries were taken off due to unfavorable opinions; boo). It wasn't all uniform in the fry and some were soft. For entrees we got the fried chicken and three and miso linguine. The fried chicken was extremely crunchy, but wished the chicken was flavored. I would recommend a brine. The sides were fine, main star would be the slaw. However, the miso linguine was delicious! Well flavored and cooked perfectly. It came out piping hot and the noodles were slightly past al dente. Dessert: Whisky Butter Cake. It sounds delicious and should be as so. The cake itself was great, but the accompaniments could be better. The pineapples were sour to the point of ruining the cake. I would recommend a sauce of some sort. Perhaps a whiskey caramel sauce? Also ice cream as well or more cream. Overall, I think this would be a great place for a night out for some drinks. Made me forget this was in town and country.

Yelp
Newly discovered bar and restaurant in Palo Alto. It was astonishing because it is located in town and country plaza and it is totally hidden so it was unexpected. We were excited to test them out. The place is the cutest with the most chill vibe. It is clean and looks highly maintained. The hostess are friendly and welcoming. We decided to seat by the bar to try some cocktails and lite bites. Our bar tender Alex was warm and accommodating. He explained the menu. They have quite a list of interesting items on their menu and we elected to order "Birds of a feather" and Cococabana alcoholic beverages and their Umami fries. It was also enjoyable to observe how Alex created our drinks! We didn't wait long and we were served. It was refreshing and the umami fries were the bomb! We enjoyed our time and for sure we will be returning again soon.

Yelp
I have seen so many positive reviews of this establishment and I have to say, I left confused. We went in a Sunday afternoon, where they had their brunch menu which was disappointing as I saw mostly the dinner menu. We decided to stay and try the limited menu. We landed on the tomato soft scramble and the loco moco. Nothing exceptional. For the price and the hype I would have at least expected something more. My scramble was not soft but rather a lump of scrambled eggs congealed with some tomatoes mixed into potatoes and uncooked Brussels. The bread was even burnt from the toast! The only thing I can say is- meh. The loco moco had a weird sweetness to it. Head over to Sweet Maple instead. This was mid, at most. The service was lacking, took forever to order and seemed like some tables got great service while others, like our own, were forgotten by our server who seemed overwhelmed and over it. While this may just be my perception, I don't know that this is worth the visit. Hard pass for me.

Yelp
When a friend invited me to join her on the opening day of Horsefeather in Palo Alto for one of our catch up dinners, it ended up being one of my favorite of the year. We ordered the Korean crispy wings, Fried chicken and three, Roasted cauliflower, and the Ol' Smokey cocktail, a delicious smoky mix of flavors - horsefeather "trail" blend whiskey, brown butter, bergamot, demerara, salted cardamom, clove, and angostura. The mid century modern design of the restaurant was a nice touch too. Pros: Delicious and flavorful food and cocktails, relaxing vibe and chic decor Cons: N/A

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. We had a large group and they took care of us very well. The staff there were so sweet and helpful. We were sat at their large table in the semi sectioned off, back area. The interior of this restaurant had a nice vibe to it. Perfect for date nights and group dinners. We tried a variety of their foods and drinks. Everyone agreed that everything was delicious. I had the low rider cocktail and the fried chicken entree. Loved everything about both of them. Lowrider: smokey, berry, and a bit bitter but I love that in a drink Fries chicken: perfect balance of sweet and spicy, mac n cheese side was my fave

Yelp
We stopped by here for a late lunch. We reserved the private room, which seats 12 people. I was surprised that this restaurant does not have a high chair for babies/toddlers. This is unfortunate, so it may not be family friendly. A young mother in my group had to hold her baby at the table, and while she was eating. However, the women's restroom had a baby changing table available, which seems confusing. The food here is tasty. We ordered the duck fat fries, and it is very flavorful and amazing! I highly recommend this. All of our food came out super fast. I had the miso linguine, and it was delicious. I loved the nori and mushrooms. Overall, service here is great. After getting seated, we were all finished eating within a hour.

Yelp
The good: fried chicken was nicely breaded, juicy, and very pleasing to eat, spicy coleslaw was delicious, the macaroni-and-cheese was nice but the cheese went cold and solidified rather quickly (??), the corn was less to my taste. The great: the creamy miso linguine with seaweed, lemon oil, and tomatoes is possibly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever eaten. So flavourful! Not-so-good: the server came around and checked up on us bothersomely often, until we wanted to get the bill at which point he was nowhere to be found. The decor has a pleasant mid-century modern/western feel, but I don't like the wood wool ceiling panels.

Yelp
We walked in on a Saturday evening not long after their soft opening, and were pleasantly surprised to get a prime seat at the bar without a reservation. It's brand new so the space looks fresh and gorgeous, with a lively crowd. The drinks - my favorites were their Breakfast Punch milk punch (so smooth) and their Daywalker (great fun size and tasty tepache foam). I was also blown away by how good my partner's zero proof Shorebird was - always the strong sign of a good bar program that can make excellent mocktails. The food - was very surprised by their generous portions, so watch out for that when ordering (although we loved the leftovers). The star was definitely the Miso Linguine but the Fried Chicken & Three was definitely hearty (if you enjoy the saucy almost Korean like style). We would skip the vegan Mango Lime ceviche next time. Definitely want to go back to try more dishes, especially smaller plates.

Yelp
I love HorseFeather in SF so was super excited it opened up closer in Palo Alto! The drinks here are always super good. I tried the Birds of Feather which was amazing. My group got the duck fat fries which are always so amazing to share. We got the fried chicken and three, beef roast, miso linguini and the risotto for entrees. I'd say the risotto was my least favorite but all the options were so good. I'll definitely Be coming back!

Yelp
Reservations were easily made online for my party of 6 on a Friday evening. Ambiance is fantastic with a modern, minimalistic, and elevated look. We shared the duck fat fries, Korean crispy wings, fried chicken and three, risotto alla milanese, miso linguini, and braised beef roast. The duck fat fries were just ok to us - it was topped with "duck fat snow" which had a powdered texture and didn't really taste like anything. The curry ketchup dipping sauce was pretty good though! Korean crispy wings were quite good and we all enjoyed these. The fried chicken was delicious as well - tender with a lovely sriracha honey glaze on top. However, the 3 sides that came with the fried chicken (corn, mac & cheese, coleslaw) didn't add much to the dish in my opinion. Risotto alla milanese was pretty solid but not my favorite. Miso linguini was my favorite - flavorful and hearty! Definitely a unique combination of ingredients and flavors, and would highly recommend this dish. Braised beef roast was ok and nothing to write home about in my opinion. For dessert, we shared the yuzu custard, whiskey butter cake, and chocolate cake with fig ganache. Yuzu custard was our favorite! Very light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Whiskey butter cake was just ok to me. Didn't really taste the whiskey butter and the cake felt a bit stale to me. Chocolate cake was solid - I enjoyed the fig ganache, chantilly cream, and pomegranate syrup. Service was wonderful and food came out a lot quicker than expected! The ambiance and service really added to the experience. I think it's worth giving Horsefeather a visit at least once!

Yelp
Had a reservation on a Tuesday and got seated right away. The ambiance is so cute with plenty of tables and seating at the bar. We got a few cocktails, both of which where so strong. For appetizers we got the duck fat fries and the deviled eggs. Both were good, but the deviled eggs were INCREDIBLE. definitely get this!! For the mains we got the fried chicken and three and the miso linguini. The fried chicken was so juicy and perfectly crispy. The Mac n cheese and corn were a great addition too! This dish is HUGE so would definitely recommend to share it. The miso linguini was perfectly salty and umami. Definitely worth a try. They even gave us free sparkling wine since we were celebrating our anniversary. Super cute restaurant!

Yelp
Food (4/5) For our party of two, we got the Chopped Romaine & Stone Fruit (5/5), Duck Fat Fries (5/5), Miso Linguini (4/5) with side of Lemon Butter Prawns (4/5) and Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast (4/5). The Chopped Romaine & Stone Fruit ($18) was delicious and fresh and mixed wonderfully, the puffed quinoa adding a fun textural element. The Duck Fat Fries ($11) were yummy, no issues. My Miso Linguini ($26) and side of Prawns ($12) were good, but the linguini was very very savory and salty. I know dash and miso cream can definitely increase the saltiness, but I wish it was balanced better. I tried the Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast ($36) which was fine, but low-key giving airplane beef stew vibes. Our server recommended the Birds of a Feather ($18) which was yummy! Sweet but not too sweet. Also tried the dirty martini which was very good. Price (3/5) Each entree is a minimum $20 and up and cocktails are $18. I know this is the Bay Area but it's still on the higher end imo. I don't feel like my entree and shrimp is worth the total $38. There is an additional employee living surcharge (specific to Palo Alto I believe). Wait Time (4/5) We came on a Friday evening and was expecting a long wait. We were told 1 hour and so walked around the plaza only to receive a text Service (4/5) Our server was kind and efficient, no issues. We did have to flag down a separate server/bus person for water after we had placed our food orders. Ambiance (3/5) The inside was nice with wood paneling and felt like a nice environment. But it was very loud and could use some sound-insulating or isolating items. We were seated in a separate alcove off towards the back so it wasn't as loud. If you were seated in the main dining area you may have to raise your voice to be heard. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Parking/Access (4/5) Located in the Town & Country Plaza, the parking situation can be hectic but you can usually find spots near Trader Joe's or by Antoine's Cookie Shop on the far ends of the plaza. Entrance is accessible for wheelchair users (no button though). I would be back with someone who had never been here before, but I wouldn't choose this as a repeat place since there are many other places on my to-try list and it is definitely $$$ :)

Yelp
Daywalker cocktail was delicious Plant-based Mango lime "ceviche" (pea) was amazing. Giant chunks of jicama, guacamole, mango and the flavors were chef's kiss. Huge portion of hot, juicy, sweet fried Chicken. Was not a fan of the corn, slaw and Mac and cheese sides. Attentive service. Thanks!

Yelp
Our party of three came on a weeknight without a reservation and we were able to choose to grab one of the two walk-in tables or sit at the counter. We opted for the table and started ordering away! The cocktails were delicious! For apps, we ordered the duck fat fries and roasted cauliflower. Loved both! For mains, we ordered the miso linguini, double cheeseburger, and the risotto alla Milanese. The miso linguini was our favorite of the few and came in a great sized portion. The double cheeseburger came with a small side of pickles and side salad, and the onions added just a nice touch of sweetness. Risotto alla Milanese was topped with mushrooms and was my least favorite of the dishes, as it got cold quickly and the texture felt a bit thick soon after coming to our table. We ordered the yuzu custard for dessert, and it was nice and refreshing to end our meal. The interior was beautiful and trendy, set up with booths, lots of bar seating, and plenty of tables. Parking was also easy too, which was nice since this was located in Town and Country Village (near the Trader Joe's). Town and Country also offers free valet parking but with limited hours.

Yelp
Very cute vibes, definitely a great place to come with a group which we did 23 of us actually. This place is first and foremost a cocktail bar, and DAMN are these cocktails good. "Birds of a Feather" was sweeter than what the description would have you believe (but in a good way), and the "Daywalker" was a huge hit! The pineapple foam was reminiscent of an adult-version of a Dole whip. The heavily Korean-inspired American fare was also delicious and arrived in great timing from when we asked to be served our preordered food. The duck-fat fries were so good and perfect to be split with a big group. The korean crispy wing somehow both incredibly saucy and yet still perfectly crispy (seriously, how do they do that??). I enjoy moderate spice and didn't find them too spicy at all. The burger was our favorite main dish it was so juicy and flavorful!! We had a few vegans and vegitarians in our group and they had great options for them for mains and appetizers. This place is good for everyone and that's hard to find! Really good creative dishes. This is a perfect middle of the road dinner spot. Not too fancy, but not too casual. Great service too. 100% will be back

Yelp
TLDR: 4/5 soft opening Great service, cool and cozy interior design, menu items are overall good, excited to see how the restaurant evolves over time as they prepare for a grand opening. I'm wishing best of luck on their future success! Would come back to try items I wasn't able too, especially the ganache cake. Service: 5/5 We walked up without a reservation and the hostess and manager were both very accommodating. Our bartender and server was awesome too, super nice and answered any questions we had. The manager was so friendly, and all the FOH staff was awesome. Made me feel welcome and want to come back! Food: 4/5 Some good, some great. We ordered the duck fat fries, Korean crispy wings, beef roast, shrimp tacos, and whisky butter cake. Some I would not order again, not because it's bad or low quality, it's just more expensive than other competition. Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast: 4.8/5 Loved how tender the beef roast was. Just melted when my fork dug in. The mash potatoes were great too. Simple and tasty. Mashed potatoes doesn't need to be some fancy thing! I also liked the salad too! The beef roast was probably my favorite dish. I just wish the flavor was a little more punchier? But that's my only criticism. Jumbo prawn tacos: 4.5/5 Really enjoyed the texture of the corn tortillas. I thought that the shrimp was cooked just right. I liked the combination of the melted havarti cheese and the pickled onions. Also the salsa verde was delicious! Really fresh and bright. I would order this again. Oh one thing. I did not like the coleslaw (?) on the side. And normally I love a sour pickled side dish :( I wish they would improve this. Anyways, the tacos remind me of my favorite shrimp tacos in San Diego. Red Beets & Strawberries: 4.8/5 Ripe strawberries, earthy beets, with a delicious vinaigrette! I would totally order this again. Bonus points for beautiful presentation. Whiskey Butter Cake: 4/5 I'm a sucker for any butter cake. The good - moist tender inside, the chantilly cream was smooth and not too sweet. Was worried about a super strong whiskey flavor but it was really subtle? Can't really complain too much about that. Presentation was cute too. The bad - wish the pineapple marmalade was more marmalade-y? It was more like separate small diced pineapples rather than a jammy marmalade. But maybe that's personal preference. I also wish the components were better incorporated together rather than 3 separate things. But was it a good cake? Yes. It was, very moist tender and sweet but not sickly sweet. Duck fat fries: 3/5. Good, not bad. Wouldn't order again. The fries were cooked well, I wish it was a little bit crispier. I liked the seasoning on it. The duck fat snow on top is cool idea! Not sure what the addition added to the experience. Korean crispy wings: 3/5. Again, good not bad. If I never had Korean wings before this would be amazing. Juicy meat, crispy but saucy. But again, there are a bunch of Korean fried chicken spots in the Bay Area that can do more for less cost. Ambiance: 5/5 I love the japandi inspired interior (lol if I got the inspiration wrong). It's quite different from the other restaurants in Palo Alto. The interior design is great and it's worth visiting for the vibe alone. It's warm and cozy but feels modern and sophisticated! We sat at the bar and I loved looking at the liquor bottles all neatly displayed.

Yelp
Had a reservation for Saturday night and was seated right away. Ordered the duck fat fries and Korean crispy chicken wings for an appetizer and they were both super delicious. The ambience is modern, trendy and can definitely appeal to all crowds. Drinks were really good and the miso linguine was a standout!

Yelp
Checked out the newest spot in T&C! Tucked behind Trader Joe's is this modern, casual eatery filled to the brim with all sorts of gastronomic eats & libations. While we didn't indulge in any hard bevvies, my friend & I made sure to order plenty of apps & mains to share. Eats: *Duck Fat Fries *Korean Crispy Wings *Miso Linguine *Side of Lemon Butter Prawns *Cream Sherry Beef Roast *Chocolate Fig Cake (on the house for the birthday girl) My faves were actually the apps. Wings were so saucy-licious and crisp! Sweet and slightly tangy from gochujang and comes with ranch. They even provided wet nappies for this because things will get messy. No regrets! Fries were phenomenal! Tossed in saffron and accompanied by curried ketchup. Sherry roast pulled apart so tenderly with merely a fork. Miso linguine had so many flavors going on with a delectable, almost undetectable cheesiness between pasta strands. Lemon butter prawns were plump and cooked well, could've actually used more lemon IMO and grilling them would've been top notch. Chocolate. Cake. Figs. Berries. Pomegranate. Not too sweet and the perfect ending to a sumptuous meal. Dollop of silky chocolate chantilly cream omg! *Waitress B brought all the good vibes! She made us feel so at ease and was extremely attentive. The place is new, they're busy, but service was still amazing! Make reservations online. I'll have to order a cocktail next time!

Yelp
They do have some quality beers on draft such as Laughing Monk Pilsner, Almanac Sournova, Dokkaebier Yuza Blonde and some red and white wines. There are also three mocktails available for non-alcohol drinkers. The entrees of Double Cheeseburger and Red Beets & Strawberries arrived not long after, nicely plated. The cheeseburger had a heaping mound of caramelized onions and melted cheddar stacked on top of two grilled patties in between brioche buns.

Yelp
With a name like "Horsefeather" you don't know what to expect! Entering this restaurant, the host was very attentive and seated us as soon as possible. We were treated to helpful service and a great dinner. A little more pricey than we would like but considering the area, the nice vibe inside, and the delicious food, I'm still satisfied. I was put off by the short menu at first, but it seems like they've narrowed the selection down to the best. The Fried Chicken meal was great! It costs $30. The main thing keeping this from a 5 is the price as similar offerings in my hometown of Fresno would be around $20 or less.

Yelp
Casual yet classy I recently heard about this new restaurant and it's the perfect spot for a dinner with friends. The interior strikes a wonderful balance between polished elegance and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu offers a great variety of options. We started with the Jumbo Prawn Tacos, which were incredibly fresh, juicy, and had just the right amount of kick. For our main course, we tried the Beef Roast, one of their signature dishes. It was moist and tender, complemented by a side salad and creamy mashed potatoes. To end our meal, we indulged in the chocolate cake with fig ganache. It was rich and decadent, with a delightful mixup from the figs and pomegranate seeds.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Horsefeather! I came for my first time and had a lovely experience. The staff were immensely friendly and all made conversation and checked up on us. Our bartender was so sweet and offered to make me a custom drink because I asked her what the sweetest drink was, and she mixed together all my favorite flavors from tropical fruits to vanilla and whipped up an amazing drink. Lots of options for drinks and would love to try the food next time! Such a nice vibe!

Yelp
Food: - my party had the burger, chicken, and risotto - thought the risotto was good, mildly flavored - burger was probably the best one - fried chicken was ok. I liked the Mac and cheese that came with it - duck fat fries were ok. nicely crispy though Service: - friendly, standard Ambiance: - fine, good for groups and maybe casual dates

Yelp
Horsefeather has been on my list for a while now and their new location in Town & Country worked perfectly for me. The interior is inviting and well lit. For dishes, of course I had to try the duck fries, which are well worth the hype. We also had the Aguachile as an appetizer. Then for mains, we got the miso pasta, the burger and the fried chicken. All were absolutely delicious and the service was super attentive as well. To end the night, definitely recommend the chocolate ganache cake. Overall, Horsefeather will be a go to restaurant in the area.

Yelp
We had a great night at Horsefeather catching up with friends! The service was great but they did forget one of our items. Drinks were excellent and wide variety/selection. Food was also good but menu was a bit limited. The chicken add on is chicken thighs which is not always my favorite. Our bill ended up being quite high. You are paying for the atmosphere - modern, trendy cocktail bar with midrange priced dinner. Overall we had a great time though and would consider returning if wanting to go out with friends!

Yelp
celebrated my dad's birthday here, and im really glad we got to try this new spot! the food was fusion style and was pretty unique. the service was also great as well. my favorite was the miso linguini! the tomatoes really enhanced the flavor profile of the creamy miso sauce, would come back just for that dish alone. the roast beef was tender and the mashed potatoes paired well. the fried chicken had very unique breading that i really enjoyed. i wish the sides had a little more flavor though, and same with the risotto and duck fat fries. ordered: duck fat fries fried chicken & three miso linguini risotto alla milanese cream sherry braised beef roast

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place including the cocktails! Service was great, I can't believe the place just opened. The restaurant feels big and airy, and is well laid out. The duck fat fries were so good and really crispy, how I like them, and the deviled eggs had great kimchi flavor and the crunchies on top added great texture. I loved the miso noodles with mushrooms, lots of umami. The fried chicken was good, but the sides it came with were just okay and maybe could have used some pickles or acid. I hope they start serving brunch soon! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and learned that this is a brand new location. Friendly staff and a very modern ambiance and vibe but I wouldn't recommend them for brunch for the follow reasons: -Very limited menu offering -Brunch items don't really stand out against other places -Portions are barely large enough for sharing From what I learned from the server, seems like this is the place to go for dinner. Will definitely give dinner a try but for now, I can't recommend Horsefeather for brunch.

Yelp
TLDR I really wanted to like this place but IDK that I can recommend it. The good: Staff was excellent, friendly and fast from the hostess to the waitstaff who kept on coming by to check on the room. Cocktails: very tasty! My wife liked her elevated gin martini, and the pineapple punch was fruity and bright! Nice ambiance, I love what y'all did with this oddball spot at Town & Country. And the Korean wings, tasty, a bit pricey as were the $18 cocktails but this is Palo Alto. Ok what I can't forgive is to have a dish called Duck Fat Fries and WTF where is the duck fat, in a "snow?" And what is all this nacho seasoning on the fries was there duck fat flavor under that? because it got buried if so. Way too much going on, this should have been a simple gimme home run snack, instead a forgettable IDK. Somewhere in that mid level as well was the miso linguini. I had high hopes -there's a group of Asian fusion restaurants in SoCal called Kei Concepts and they make something like this, a deceptively simple fusion of great pasta and wonderful Asian flavors. But this was not that. Again so much too much going on. Interesting but I could not describe how it tasted or why. So, a great setting, and as a new place I think they got the logistics worked out! But ooof the dishes we tried just underwhelmed, sorry.

Yelp
Service was exceptional. Really on top of making sure our water glasses were filled and clearing the table of unused dishes. And they were friendly. Food was solid. I ordered the miso linguini and a shorebird. Probably will just stick to water next time, the drink was tasty, but not worth the price tag imo. Overall restaurant had a solid atmosphere. Reservations are probably recommended as it's not a very big space and even on a Tuesday seemed to get pretty busy at dinner time.

Yelp
Nestled in Palo Alto's Town & Country Village, Horsefeather is a new restaurant that comes from the team that also created the Horsefeather in Alamo Square SF. The area is located minutes away from Stanford, which makes it the perfect spot to go to off campus. The interior is open which makes it really easy to call a server, which is perfect because the service is extremely fast. Since Horsefeather in SF is famous for their cocktails, I had high expectations and they definitely did not disappoint. I asked my waiter about cocktails that used egg whites, and they recommended me their Moonshadow, which was somehow both refreshing and creamy. The drink is off the menu, so if you happen to read this review, definitely make sure to request it. The menu itself was extremely thoughtful, with a small but delicious menu. Conscious of the location they were in, they took classic comfort foods and added asian and latin influences without dominating the natural flavors, a subtle distinction that underlies all their items. For example, the duck fat fries had an umami seasoning that reminded me of the seasoning for Calbee potato chips. We also ordered the fried chicken and the beef roast. The beef roast was slow cooked to perfection and was incredibly tender. The sherry sauce was so good that my wife used it on everything, from the fries to the cauliflower that we ordered. It was also such a massive portion that I was able to take home and cook 2 meals from just the leftovers. We also ordered the fried chicken, which was super crispy. The thigh meat was extremely juicy, just the way I liked it. I also want to shout out the light sriracha honey which added a pleasant sweetness to the dish. The highlight of the meal was probably the dessert however. The chocolate cake was incredibly decadent and rich, but never felt too heavy because it was cranberries and fruit struck a great balance. My favorite dish of the night was the yuzu custard. It was just the perfect amount of creaminess and sweet. I legit wish I ordered three, including 1 to go. What a perfect treat. I am already planning my next trip and looking forward to coming back to trying the miso linguini and the burger. I suggest you make a plan as well because this place will be the talk of the town soon enough.

Yelp
Nice service The fries is too mach, so cannot finish; while the main course portion is relatively small.

Yelp
Horsefeather is the latest upscale restaurant to land in Palo Alto's Town & Country Village. It takes over the former spot of Bar Method and is nearby the nook of casual dining spots including Oren's Hummus, Roost and Roast, and Sushi House. The restaurant is table service and is open for both lunch and dinner. We stopped by for lunch and it's a great menu featuring both cocktails, interesting appetizers and diverse main courses. Pricing is moderately expensive (entrees $20-30) and probably higher than the high school demographic that often dines at the more casual options nearby. This is Horsefeather's second branch and the new American cuisine is more an alternative to the nearby upscale Teleferic Barcelona. We tried a sampling of dishes and everything came out timely with solid portions. The fried chicken is solid and the risotto was well done. It's a great spot to catch up with friends or to stop by when shopping at Trader Joe's and I'm sure it will do well. Duck Fat Fries ~ $11 / Fried Chicken & Three $30 / Risotto Alla Milanese $24 Reservations are recommended although not required. Dining is indoor only. Credit cards accepted including American Express.

Yelp
Food is so so! Restaurant is real nice, tucked away in the back. Odd, but brunch is served till 4. There were 4 tables occupied when we visited and ample servers but odd. Served us the bottom of the brewed coffee and when set down server didn't ask or ensure there was a spoon, cream or sugar. Coffee was warm (sitting) and so when the items that come with coffee was then cold. I'd say if you serve something, you naturally bring or ask if you would like hot sauce for the loco moco or condiments to complement your other items. It took the hostess and the server to complete the simplest items but then the food wasn't even that great. Reviews are subjective but I do cook, and so I paid for a meal I could have made myself even better. It's a beautiful spot, but gotta deliver of food and be mindful of the service too.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to eating here for weeks. I came in and got food to go. The Latina female at the front desk was so sweet; she encouraged me to come in next time for happy hour and even gave me a copy of their happy hour menu, recommending some drinks she had found tasty. The two stars are for her customer service. Food: 1/5: Umami Fries - tasted stale and honestly not worth it. 0/5: Fried Chicken and Three - Probably the worst fried chicken I've ever had. The chicken was heavily breaded... which would have been perfectly fine had it had any flavor. There was no seasoning on that chicken whatsoever. I was shocked, this is the reason I wanted to try the place, the pics on here of their chicken plate look amazing, boy was I disappointed. I took a few bites and then cut it up to feed to the cats that wander into my yard.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Everything was well prepared and presented attractively. The chicken wings were crispy with a tangy sauce, and the risotto had a good texture.

Yelp
Good ambiance, terrible food! The duck fat fried were fine, but the roasted cauliflower was mushy, had no char, and was flavorless despite being drizzled with hot sauce. Also they gave us a tiny portion of ketchup and wanted to charge $2 for more. The fried chicken was under seasoned, while the Mac and cheese that came with it was over seasoned. The only good dish we had was the miso pasta which was full of umami flavor, and came with basil and mushrooms. Maybe drinks are their forte? Service was good.

Yelp
okay I'm never in this area but apparently they're new? looks super fancy inside lol but I guess everyone is still trying to figure out the pace bc everyone seemed a lil hesitant? not sure the right word, "undertrained" feels a lil harsh lol fried chicken & three - 7/10 breading on chicken was nice but the chicken had no taste lol, Mac & cheese was good, Cole slaw was avg, street corn avg miso linguini - 7/10 taste was not bad, just a bit too creamy/heavy for me la Aquitaine - 2/10 tasted no alcohol at all lol it was like a watered down le Croix - sorta tasted like white claw breakfast punch - 3/10 slightly more taste in this one but also no taste of alcohol side of seared chicken - 6/10 taste, was nice and tender and juicy but it had a lil kick to it that I wasn't expecting, also it was ridiculously overpriced at $8 holy lawd tip: maybe this is a rich people thing but if the waiter asks you for sparkling or still water, say neither bc you'll get charged for fancy ass water lol other tip: pricing for the cocktails felt normal but the quality of the cocktails is subpar, food pricing is on par w what you'd expect from the land of rich people?

Yelp
Love how clean it was and the staff went above and beyond! Service was amazing! The drinks were also tasty and strong. I ordered the fried chicken plate. The corn was so good and sweet. The chicken was FRESH and STEAMING HOT! It took a while but it was fine because they probably made it fresh. Though the batter was too thick and it came right off. The breading/batter was a bit heavy due, so I ate mostly the chicken. Also the fries were my favorite!

Yelp
Two words: Miso linguine. I came here with a girlfriend for a long awaited girls night out, and trust me, we wanted to order it all! We ended up going with: - duck fat fries - korean crispy wings - red beets & strawberries - miso linguine Every dish was so, so good. The miso linguine certainly delivered! It was so creamy and flavorful. I will 100% be back for that alone. The duck fat fries were extra crispy and served with a side of interesting curried ketchup. You can never go wrong with fries. Korean cripsy wings were a sticky, flavorful, messy dish - exactly as expected. It made me miss my favorite Portland spot that used to serve similar Vietnamese fish sauce sticky wings. The hand wipes they came with were a welcome touch. The beet salad balanced out our meal with some fresh vegetables. I'm thinking about when I can return to dine here. Horsefeather is tucked away in the Town & Country plaza in Palo Alto.

Yelp
We're lucky that the manager, Ana Maria was here today. she made us feel very welcome and cared for. Everything we ordered was delicious. Can't wait to come back and bring our friends and family.

Yelp
Started off with a Birds of a Feather coctail - delicious (tastes similar to a really good whiskey sour, but has totally different ingredients.) Pricey, but tasty. Next, the duck fat fries, which are dusted with chili powder or something - best fries I've had in a while. The double cheeseburger was very juicy and good, as was my friend's fried chicken (boneless, btw.) The beef roast didn't impress us.
