We came here on Saturday for brunch at noon after making reservations. Be warned that while there's a dedicated parking lot for Town and Country, finding parking isn't a walk in the park--especially with Stanford traffic on game days. Give yourself extra time before your reservation.
After checking in, we were seated right away. The brunch menu looked great with options ranging from light and healthy to hearty comfort food. One person in our group was especially excited to order the French omelette, but after placing the order and waiting, we were told it wasn't actually available yet because the menus had been printed too early. That was frustrating, and the staff seemed unsure about what was and wasn't available. The signature duck fat fries have also been replaced with "umami fries," so worth noting if that's what you're coming for.
At our table, we ordered the umami fries, tomato egg scramble, loco moco, and chicken and waffles. The tomato egg scramble was a bit misleading by name--it came with sides of toast, baby potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and tomatoes, rather than being mixed together. The chicken and waffles was a huge portion, definitely sharable, and best enjoyed with the maple syrup and matcha butter. The loco moco was as expected--classic and satisfying.
While the food was good, service was quite slow. Even with a reservation system, the restaurant was more than half empty but clearly understaffed. We had to repeatedly ask for water, the correct number of utensils, and eventually the check. The staff did redeem themselves a bit when they brought out a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a belated birthday. We chose the yuzu custard--it had nice flavor, though the heavy whipped cream topping overwhelmed the custard itself.
Overall, the restaurant was clean and nicely set up, but between the slow service, tricky parking, and inconsistent menu availability, I probably wouldn't rush to come back. The server did mention the fried chicken and burgers are popular, so that might be worth trying if you visit.
