Horsefeather Palo Alto - Review - Palo Alto - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Horsefeather, the cocktail bar and restaurant with an original location in NoPa, has opened its second outpost in Palo Alto. Expect a few new cocktails, plus similar American dishes like a cheeseburger, duck fat fries, and fried chicken. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

All the Openings to Know in the Bay Area this June 2025 | Eater SF

"A glitzy second outpost of a popular Divisadero bar, this larger Town & Country Village location mirrors the original's menu while expanding offerings and scale, delivering a similarly polished, late-night cocktail experience near the Stanford campus." - Paolo Bicchieri

Nopa’s Neighborhood Bar Graduates to Palo Alto | Eater SF

"Opening June 27 in Town & Country Village across from the Stanford campus, this new outpost brings the convivial, hospitality-forward bar experience from its San Francisco original to a suburban Palo Alto crowd. The larger footprint allows a design that blends Arts & Crafts echoes with Brutalist and Frank Lloyd Wright touches—vintage glass details, an angular wood-paneled back bar, a Brutalist mural, and a flexible wood-paneled private dining room with its own TV and sound system—so the space has more intentional "moments" and a true PDR that the narrow San Francisco shot-gun layout lacked. Many of the original hits arrive at opening, including a stacked double cheeseburger, crisp duck-fat fries topped with "duck fat snow," fried chicken and waffles, and Korean crispy wings, with plans to add lunch and weekend brunch later and to adapt the menu to local tastes. The cocktail list expands to 18 drinks with new approachable originals—highlighted by a Showpony riff on a whiskey mule dressed with ginger syrup, sarsaparilla, and salted barley—and a thoughtful nonalcoholic program exemplified by the Shorebird, which layers Aplós Calme with salted green apple cordial, verjus, and ginger-scallion oil for savory texture. Management frames the move as scalable growth rather than franchising, aiming to serve a wider demographic—from families with strollers to people coming after shows—while retaining high-level service at accessible price points." - Dianne de Guzman

The food was okay and nothing really stood out but the staff was super friendly. The restaurant had a great vibe and I loved the atmosphere. The risotto didn’t live up to expectations despite the positive reviews. It was one of the least flavorful risottos I’ve had at a restaurant. The fish taco was decent but the portion size was generous.

Google
Loco Moco was the best I've had. The gravy sauce on it was umami but also had a slight touch of sweet and sour (from the caramelized onion and maybe a tiny bit of vinegar?). It's different than traditional, but way better in my book. If you're very hungry, you can add a second patty for another $6 or $7. Chicken & Waffles were great too. Matcha butter sounds a bit much at first, but I'm glad we got it because it goes well with the crispy & fluffy waffles. Crispy banana/plantain + strawberry on the waffle was a nice touch too

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night at 6:30pm, grabbing a last minute open reservation. The hosts were friendly & seated us immediately. The tables have a large base, blocking the chairs from getting close, so we found ourselves having to lean in while eating. I ordered the hibiscus mezcal cocktail and it was delicious. We started with the Korean crispy wings and duck fat fries, the wings earning a special place in my heart. My main was the poke bowl, and it was good. My husband ordered the fried chicken and found himself scraping off most of the breading, which was a LOT. Not the best he’s had. Service was incredibly fast the entire night, which is typically appreciated but it did feel like we were being rushed. I recommend placing orders slowly, as a way to pace. It’s a new restaurant and I understand they may be moving quickly to receive and serve as many customers as possible. Overall okay experience. I will likely come back for the drinks & wings.

Our first visit to this newly opened bar at Town & Country. Sister bar to the one in SFO. our server Ingrid was very helpful . We ordered the duck fat fries and the roasted Cauliflower. I had the Laughing Monk Holy Ghost Pilsner which was on tap and was very light and refreshing. My friend had the Goodnight Solitaire a gin drink which was good too. We had the Roasted beet salad and the Cochinita Pibil Tacos , 3 soft tacos with roasted pork. For desert we shared the chocolate cake with Figs which was moist and delicious

Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday in Town & Country, Palo Alto. They've only been open for about a month. We went when they opened at 4pm and decided to sit at the bar. It wasn't busy at the time, but when we left it was crowded. The vibe is really nice. The three bartenders Ray, CK, and Alex were outstanding, and they made excellent cocktails. It was really fun to interact with them. For dinner, we shared the Duck Fat Fries. The fries were good, but we've had better. Maybe it's just our taste, so give them a try. We had the Prawns Tacos, and you get three. We also had the Risotto Alla Milanese. The tacos were really delicious! The Risotto was the best that I've had in a long time! We would definitely have these again, but we want to try other items next time. I would highly recommend trying Horsefeather in Palo Alto!!

Google
The Horsefeather is a real treat in Palo Alto! First off, it is located in the Town and Country Village so parking is easy. The restaurant itself is well laid out and has great ambiance. Most importantly, the food is great. We had salads, burgers, and the Risotto Milanese....which is a must try! Also had some tasty cocktails. Highly recommend.

Google
Horsefeather is the latest upscale restaurant to land in Palo Alto’s Town & Country Village. It takes over the former spot of Bar Method and is nearby the nook of casual dining spots including Oren’s Hummus, Roost and Roast, and Sushi House. The restaurant is table service and is open for both lunch and dinner. We stopped by for lunch and it’s a great menu featuring both cocktails, interesting appetizers and diverse main courses. Pricing is moderately expensive (entrees $20-30) and probably higher than the high school demographic that often dines at the more casual options nearby. This is Horsefeather’s second branch and the new American cuisine is more an alternative to the nearby upscale Teleferic Barcelona. We tried a sampling of dishes and everything came out timely with solid portions. The fried chicken is solid and the risotto was well done. It’s a great spot to catch up with friends or to stop by when shopping at Trader Joe’s and I’m sure it will do well. 📷 Duck Fat Fries ~ $11 / Fried Chicken & Three $30 / Risotto Alla Milanese $24 Reservations are recommended although not required. Dining is indoor only. Credit cards accepted including American Express.

Just found out that the renowned SF Nopa cocktail bar, Horsefeather, had recently opened a new location at the back end of Town & Country Village in Palo Alto. After a work meeting, I stopped by with a co-worker to scope it out off-hours. After we found a parking spot behind Trader Joe's, we walked back toward Horsefeather, which had big crystal clear windows out front. Upon entering, it feels like a groovy 70s-style interior with wood paneling from ceiling to the floor and bright yellow stained glass panels. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We placed an order to share the Double Cheeseburger and Red Beets & Strawberries salad. For cocktails, the Lowrider (hibiscus mezcal, cucumber, agave, fresh lime) caught my eye and my co-worker ordered Birds of a Feather (barbados rum, blood orange aperitif, lime leaf, pineapple gomme, black cardamom, fresh lime). The Lowrider was an excellent choice; it had a deep crimson color garnished with three razor thin slices of cucumber. The flavor was sublime and refreshing with floral citrus notes. My co-worker enjoyed his Birds of a Feather. I may try that or the Breakfast Punch on my next visit. They do have some quality beers on draft such as Laughing Monk Pilsner, Almanac Sournova, Dkkaebier Yuza Blonde and some red and white wines. There are also three mocktails available for non-alcohol drinkers. The entrees of Double Cheeseburger and Red Beets & Strawberries arrived not long after, nicely plated. The cheeseburger had a heaping mound of caramelized onions and melted cheddar stacked on top of two grilled patties, which were in between the brioche buns. It was nicely cut in half for us to share. It is served with a little dish of sweet pickles and a side salad with dijon vinaigrette. The Red Beets & Strawberries is served on a bed of arugula, pistachio ailade, spicy chevre and roasted apple vinaigrette. The beets have that perfect dense texture and muted sweetness. It's sizeable enough to be a light meal. There are quite a few other menu items that I'd like to try such as the Cochinita Pibil Tacos and Risotto Alla Milanese, but that will have to wait for another day. For now, I'm excited that the Peninsula & South Bay community has one of the top SF cocktail bars closer to home. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
I love going to Town & Country Village, so I was excited to try Horsefeather. I'll admit I was a bit wary at first after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I went. I was initially looking forward to trying their duck fat fries, but learned that they have converted to umami fries instead. The fries came with a curry ketchup which was fantastic. The quantity of fries was also a heaping amount! They were good, but I wish there was more of the umami dusting on the fries -- I do usually order my fries extra seasoned though so it's probably just a me-thing. My friend and I both got the double cheeseburger and agreed that it was delectable. It was everything you want in a craft burger; soft brioche bun, extremely flavorful + juicy chuck and brisket, smoky caramelized onions for that hint of sweetness, and a zesty sauce to bring everything together. Since the burger was so juicy, it was very messy to eat and I ended up having to eat part of it deconstructed, but to be fair I think this is normalized behavior when eating a burger like this. Service was good; we appreciated our server who was patient with us since we were busy yapping and weren't ready to order for awhile. It was one of those situations where when we were finally ready to order, it became hard to get their attention, but totally our fault to begin with. I'd definitely come back and try other items + their cocktails!

Yelp
This was a tough one to rate. I really enjoyed my burger, and splitting a plate of fries and having a burger each would make for a fantastic meal. The fries were a huge serving, seasoned with a really umami blend of spices and served with a really nice curried ketchup dip. The burger was on a soft fresh brioche bun, both patties were crispy on the outside while just a bit pink (I asked for medium so done perfectly). Maybe sit at the bar... that'd be the move. What didn't go well.... First off water. Look, I get you're trying to sell bottled water, but giving us tiny glasses and a carafe of unfiltered tap tasting tap water at room temperature was not a great first impression. I was a little parched when we sat down and I was looking forward to a cold glass of ice water... and I get it, I'm picky about water and have an expensive reverse osmosis system for drinking water. But dang, this was a letdown - I'm so used to restaurants having at least filtered water that I was a little surprised how bleh the water was. And the Caesar salad. The dressing might have had a hint of anchovies, but it was heavily vinegared and lacked Parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce, or croutons. If I took away the expectation, the salad was ok, but I hate fennel, and I'm not a fan of radicchio when it is a main. To be fair, all of this was in the description but I expected the dressing to overpower? It was a 3/5 or maybe 4/5 salad, but it was a 0/5 Caesar salad. Wasn't horrible, but was not what I wanted when I ordered a Caesar salad. The poke bowl vaguely looked like poke. It did not taste like it - out of season hard mango, flavorless mushy tuna, and none of the savory or sweet flavors a poke bowl usually has. It had these huge chips that looked sort of like seaweed and shrimp chips, except they tasted like deep fried paper napkins. And the rice was overcooked, mooshy and halfway to congee, so was really off putting. The burger was so good I'd give this place another chance but wow, I'd really appreciate a better salad description and filtered water. 3/5 overall, but I'm probably balancing a 4.5/5 burger with a 1/5 poke bowl.

Yelp
I went with a group of seven so we ordered a lot of different dishes that we all shared. We ordered: Miso Linguini: big hit for the entire group Korean crispy wings: I loved it, the chicken was perfectly fried and crispy and I loved the glaze Poke bowl: very fresh and delicious Jumbo prawn tacos: Another big hit for the entire table. Had to order a second The Deviled eggs and umami fries were must have sides Definitely recommend this spot for big groups. Really great service and delicious food!!

Yelp
I visited Horsefeather Palo Alto for brunch on a Sunday and it was a great experience! We got there and the place was already in full swing, lucky we had reservations. We tried the chicken and waffles with matcha butter (YUM), korean crispy chicken sandwich, umami fries, and the loco moco. Everything was delicious. It was my first time having Horsefeather's loco moco and I was pleasantly surprised at the juicy beef patty and savory sauce! The chicken and waffles are good (I usually order this at the SF location) and same with the crispy chicken sandwich. I was sad that our fries didn't have the duck fat "snow" that it usually comes with at the SF location, but maybe it was overlooked? Love the curry ketchup though. Service was friendly and the vibes were high! Will be back if we are in the area.

Yelp
The San Francisco location was better. There were still some kinks during their opening at this location. We visited in August 2025. I would have to visit again to see if they redeemed themselves. They didn't disclosed that they charge for still water ($7). I honestly loved the SF food much more cause they had more offerings. We ordered a low rider, California cooler, daywalker, duck fat fries, prawn tacos, double cheeseburger, and miso linguine. The drinks didn't wow us. I liked my miso linguine and duck fries but my friends thought their food was alright. Overall, thought it was an average experience.

Yelp
The ambiance felt a little weird coming in. Entering we already felt an odd mood from the staff. It didn't feel too warm. We didn't have a server check in on us for a while but we were helped by a friendly staff member taking over the section we were at. It felt odd because we wondered who our server was. We finally ordered our cocktails and entrees. We planned to share a salad, fried chicken and mussels. The drinks took a while to come and they apologized. The drink was delicious. I got the noche buena which actually tasted very similarly to their egg nog drink. Our foods came all at once and I kind of wish they brought the salad first then the other platters. We noticed they did the same for the other tables which is kind of awkward, especially when the table is small. I noted this to one of the staff and he asked me if I asked for it staggered and I said most restaurants usually do that or ask. He was pretty defensive and later said that maybe it was the dishwashers fault or the server taking the order. I don't know if it was sarcasm but that's not what I meant at all. I told him it was nobody's fault. Just a suggestion. I just called it out if they want to maybe ask folks next time since it can be overwhelming to customers too if your foods all come in at once. Plus the hot food can get cold. It was more of a constructive comment but it didn't deserve the comment of saying "oh it must be the dishwashers fault then". I felt the person was projecting. Maybe the staff are not treated well. I hope the staff in the back are treated with respect but it was an odd comment. Overall I felt the vibe was super weird. There was a weird atmosphere where people didn't seem genuinely happy to work there. The food was okay. I'd pass on the salad. The pieces of pear or stonefruit were big. The quinoa was unremarkable in it. The chicken was juicy but the flavor didn't stand out. I think some honey was put on top but maybe the flavor didn't come through. Same with the corn. I was expecting more flavor that was unique. We enjoyed the mussels and the bread. You can skip the coconut rice. Overall, the place is beautiful and has a big space but I got a weird feeling inside and was uncomfortable with the vibe. Wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Went here last week with one of my girlfriends for an impromptu dinner. Who knew that it was happy hour all night every Monday? We took advantage of this deal and it was perfect! The KFC sliders and umami fries were tasty. The Mediterranean Mussels were a big hit as the coconut curry sauce was delicious. Luckily it wasn't too busy that night (probably due to the downpour of rain) so we got great service from the waitstaff and bartender. Must come back to try all the other dinner options and cocktails!

Yelp
Came here with a friend to try some of their drinks! Nestled in the charming Town & Country plaza, Horsefeather offers a New American menu with Asian and Latin influences alongside a rotating selection of seasonal cocktails. I got a sample of their Golden Hour drink! - Golden Hour -- got a sample of this drink: turmeric honey gin, amontillado, masala brandy, toasted coconut water cordial, lime, madras tincture, acid phosphate; not my usual type of cocktail since I tend to prefer simpler flavors, but this was still a unique and creative concoction with a complex flavor profile. The interior is clean and modern, accented with warm wooden tones and a stylish bar counter for cocktail seating. Service was excellent -- the staff helped us with our orders right away and were super friendly. A great spot for a casual dinner or night out in Palo Alto!

Yelp
New spot extended from a location in SF went to for happy hour and had a nice time. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3.5 Cost to worth it rating: 4.5 for HH Opentableable: yes Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Korean chicken sliders: piping hot, crispy yet not greasy, and spot on sauce that was a bit spicy and sweet. Thin pickles were a great additions 4.5 stars - Poke Tostadas: good amount of smashed avocado, marinated poke fish, thinly sliced radishes, red cabbage, and crispy fried onions. Actual tostada was fantastic as a base: very crunchy and uneven which made it feel housemade. 4 stars - Happy hour: 2-5 every weekday and all day Monday is fun. Has 6 good looking cocktail options. Portions, quality, and prices were good. - Nice long bar area with bunch of seats - Friendly helpful staff: super appreciate them being welcoming, not batting an eye at custom orders, and checking into see how we're doing - Special holiday cocktail menu with 12 unique options. 4 zero proof as well which was nice. - Can o yams: fun cocktail in a custom yam can with writing from the restaurant Midlights: - Fries: big pile of seasoned thin fries a punch of curry ketchup. Didn't really taste the Korean chili flakes or umami and could've been a bit crispier but were fine overall. 3.5 stars - Dining room felt a bit sterile. Modern with wood felt kind of empty Lowlights: - Happy hour snacks only had 3 options

Yelp
This place is kinda hidden in a corner of a plaza across Palo Alto High school. Food was good but I wish they had more options of food. We got steak and linguine which was ok. Kinda pricey. They had a cute Christmas theme which was nice

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a girls dinner and it was perfect. The all day happy hour on Monday's is clutch so we ordered the whole menu and it was more than enough. 7.7/10 gochujang chicken sliders: the flavor was good and the buns were fluffy but the chicken was a bit tough wish it was juicier 8.4/10 poke tostada: the tacos were big and the fish was also seasoned well with a guac base very refreshing 9/10 duck fat fries: so good and so much! The ketchup with curry was also the perfect touch. 9/10 summer daisy: the drink was so light and fresh with a hint of alc 8/10 kiwi gimlet: very sour

Yelp
Horsefeather is quite a nice contemporary space. They did what they could with the amount of space, turned it into subtle intimate dining and long row of bar seating. It's a comforting vibe in here, although a bit cramped. For starters, I ordered a Daywalker (Tequila base) and was satisfied with the amount of sweetness. The cinnamon note was barely there, which I liked. It tastes like a nice boneless pina colada, if that makes sense. We ordered Umami fries for the table. I'm not the biggest fan of Umami flavor, but these fries are really good. Honestly, some of the best fries I've ever had at a restaurant. I'm not easily impressed by appetizer fries at any restaurant. For my entree, I got the Jumbo Prawn Tacos. They taste 3x better than they look. The corn tortilla surprisingly held up amazing, I thought they would crack or be flimsy. The sauce was perfect. The dish comes with 3 decently sized tacos. I love the little note at the top of the menu, "Be gentle, we're new here." Given it was a slightly busy night, our waiter did have to be flagged down as he was busy servicing other tables. Otherwise, great interior, great drinks, and great food!

Yelp
This place was amazing! I made reservations-which was very simple- and wrote down my accommodations and they delivered! We were able to park a stroller beside our booth and they asked for allergies to confirm what I had written in my reservations. Our server was attentive & very kind. Made sure our toddlers were taken cared of too. The place is very modern with lots of light and great menu selection for brunch. I opted for the chicken and waffles with matcha butter and maple syrup. It was delicious! The chicken was super moist and crunchy. Not overly greasy or left you feeling heavy. The waffles were made to perfection! The matcha butter and maple syrup were a great pair. I ate it up! Washes it down with my coco-cabana drink which had PANDAN in it. I love PANDAN so much and w as pleasantly surprised to see this drink! Very refreshing and I highly recommend. We finished it off with the yuzu custard for dessert which was so tasty. Overall, it was an amazing experience with great staff and delicious food. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Came to Horsefeather on a Friday during happy hour - no reservation, no wait, which was a nice surprise. This had been on my list of go-to places for a while. The ambiance is one of the highlights here: airy, stylish, and perfect for a casual yet elevated meal. Happy hour was a great way to sample a variety of apps and drinks without overcommitting. Definitely recommend coming during that window if you're looking to try a bit of everything. Miso Linguine (7/10) Delicious and packed with flavor, but very heavy. Needed my husband's help to finish. The miso cream sauce was rich and unique, but a little overwhelming by the end. Would love a lighter touch on the creaminess and something else to balance the flavors a bit more. Korean Krispy Chicken Sando (6/10) My husband liked this, but it didn't blow us away. The gochujang honey was tasty and the chicken was tender, but overall the flavor profile felt a bit flat. Solid, but not crave-worthy. Poke Tostadas (8/10) My favorite of the evening. Great portion - three generously sized tostadas packed with fresh poke and bright flavors. Super satisfying and well worth ordering, especially during happy hour. Overall, I'd come back if I was in the area, especially for happy hour, but it's not jumping into my top PA spots. Still worth a try if you're looking for a cool vibe and solid small plates.

Yelp
We stopped by Horsefeather in Palo Alto for brunch, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant is beautiful inside. It's really well-designed, with a modern and inviting atmosphere. Service was great too. Our server was friendly, attentive, and everything came out quickly. I ordered the tomato soft scramble, which was good, but honestly pretty expensive for what it was. My husband got the cheeseburger, which was good but nothing that stood out to justify the higher price. All in all, we liked our meal and the space, but the food felt a bit overpriced for the portions.

Yelp
We came here on Saturday for brunch at noon after making reservations. Be warned that while there's a dedicated parking lot for Town and Country, finding parking isn't a walk in the park--especially with Stanford traffic on game days. Give yourself extra time before your reservation. After checking in, we were seated right away. The brunch menu looked great with options ranging from light and healthy to hearty comfort food. One person in our group was especially excited to order the French omelette, but after placing the order and waiting, we were told it wasn't actually available yet because the menus had been printed too early. That was frustrating, and the staff seemed unsure about what was and wasn't available. The signature duck fat fries have also been replaced with "umami fries," so worth noting if that's what you're coming for. At our table, we ordered the umami fries, tomato egg scramble, loco moco, and chicken and waffles. The tomato egg scramble was a bit misleading by name--it came with sides of toast, baby potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and tomatoes, rather than being mixed together. The chicken and waffles was a huge portion, definitely sharable, and best enjoyed with the maple syrup and matcha butter. The loco moco was as expected--classic and satisfying. While the food was good, service was quite slow. Even with a reservation system, the restaurant was more than half empty but clearly understaffed. We had to repeatedly ask for water, the correct number of utensils, and eventually the check. The staff did redeem themselves a bit when they brought out a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a belated birthday. We chose the yuzu custard--it had nice flavor, though the heavy whipped cream topping overwhelmed the custard itself. Overall, the restaurant was clean and nicely set up, but between the slow service, tricky parking, and inconsistent menu availability, I probably wouldn't rush to come back. The server did mention the fried chicken and burgers are popular, so that might be worth trying if you visit.
google avatar

Helen T.

Yelp
Ordered the deviled eggs, shrimp tacos, fried chicken, and yuzu custard. The fried chicken steals the show--huge, perfectly fried, well-seasoned, with excellent corn and mac & cheese on the side. Absolute MVP. The deviled eggs were fine, the yuzu custard was pleasant, but the shrimp tacos were a miss--a bit too fishy and not as fresh as hoped. Bottom line: a solid 4-star spot anchored by truly great fried chicken. Order wisely and you'll leave happy. Pro tip: start with the chicken. Always.

Yelp
Horsefeather was awesome for dinner! I made a same-day reservation on a Thursday for our party of 4. The restaurant was super busy when we arrived and finding parking was a challenge. The interior had modern, elegant decor, and we were seated at a comfortable booth. They were out of the original mocktail I wanted to try, so I got the R.H.C. This was refreshing and tasted like a twist on a mojito, although $16 for a mocktail is somewhat criminal. My friends really liked their cocktails, especially the Daywalker, Ol' Smokey, and California Cooler. For food, we ordered everything to share. We started with the Umami Fries, Korean Crispy Wings, and Deviled Eggs. All of these were fantastic! The fries were perfectly seasoned, the honey/sesame oil and house ranch on the wings were delicious, and the Deviled Eggs were also a hit. For entrees, we ordered the Risotto Alla Milanese with Lemon Butter Prawns, Miso Linguini, and Fried Chicken & Three. Again, every single item was so tasty, it was hard to pick a favorite. We slightly over-ordered, but it was worth it to try a bit of everything. Service was friendly and quick, despite the busy evening. Overall, a great experience - would happily return!

Yelp
Finally got to try Horsefeather after they opened a new location in Palo Alto. We came for lunch and were seated right away, with plenty of seating available. I ordered the Korean Chicken Sandwich, which came with a salad, and also added an order of duck fat fries to share with the table. The server was very attentive, and the food was amazing. I loved the crispy crunch of the fried chicken, and the fries paired surprisingly well with the curried ketchup. Can't wait to come back and try more food and drinks next time!

Yelp
We wanted to try something new it was different and pretty tasty. We started out with the Unami Fries. It had a curry flavor kind of taste, roasted cauliflower it was so good I wanted more and for the main meal Fried Chicken and 3 ( macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and corn) and Double Cheeseburger! The service was good. It was a modern looking atmosphere.

Yelp
The only thing better than the food is the staff. Great vibes as you walk in and are welcomed like an old friend. Bar staff are quick, professional, Friendly and give great recs. The drinks are well crafted. Tacos and fried chicken were on point. Give this place a try if you are in the area.

Yelp
Dim and intimate ambiance. The korean wings were delicious as was the miso linguini and steak. Food was rather heavy so we got full pretty fast. Friendly servers and food came at a reasonable time. Wasn't too impressed by the dessert nor drinks but maybe need to come back and try other dishes.

Yelp
My friends and I got a dinner reservation on a Friday evening and was seated fairly quickly. There were 6 of us in a booth so it was a little tight. We shared all the food so we got to try a little bit of everything! Service was great, our server was amazing. One of my friends didn't like her drink that much and they let her swap it out for another one. - Cocktails: I got the lowrider but didn't enjoy it too much because of the mezcal. I didn't know it would be spicy haha. I tried a sip of the new Aquitaine and that was my 2nd option, much more delicious if you're looking for something tasty and easy to sip on. I tried my bf's day walker and surprised it was pretty good, I was put off by the chipotle and cinnamon on the menu but it worked together better than I thought it would. - Apps: Duck Fat Fries, Korean Crispy Wings I loved all the appetizers we got. The curry dip was interesting but worked really well! The Korean wings were really good but couldn't crispier. It was loaded in sauce that was really good but not crispy. We ordered 2 of these so the 6 of us could have 2 each. - Entrees. Miso Linguine, Risotto Alla Milanese + lemon butter prawns, Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast, Fried Chicken & Three My least favorite was the risotto because it wasn't too flavorful BUT we added lemon butter prawns and the prawns were DELICIOUS. The miso linguine was also really good, if I come back I would get miso linguine with lemon butter prawns. The chicken was good and such a huge portion but the mac n cheese was bland. I enjoyed the corn and Cole slaw though. - Dessert: Yuzu Custard, Whiskey Butter Cake, Chocolate Cake with Fig Ganache (yes we got all 3) Get the Yuzu Custard. It was so good! Very refreshing. The yuzu flavor was not too strong and worked really well with the custard. Definitely my favorite. The other 2 cakes were good too but I would definitely recommend the custard!

Yelp
Probably a 3.5. I came here with two friends on Sunday afternoon, and there was a lot of open seating in a really nice, more intimate and slightly upscale vibe. - UMAMI FRIES ($11): Our server told us this was a must-order, and it seemed like every table got this, but to be honest they just felt like basic fries with a bit of curry seasoning. A generous serving though - FRIED CHICKEN & WAFFLES ($22): Good! A fairly standard dish, but the chicken was very moist, and the waffles came with your choice of maple syrup or matcha syrup and honey butter or matcha butter. - KOREAN CRISPY CHICKEN SANDO ($21): Again, flavorful fried chicken served with gochujang honey. We added a fried egg which was served over hard -- I think it would have been a lot better over medium. - FOUR EGG OMELETTE ($22): A simple, thin omelette folded around fillings of your choosing. The brussel sprouts and baby potatoes were just okay -- I much prefer those at Sweet Maple. Maybe a little pricy for what it was especially if paying the upcharge for any proteins. Service was friendly and helpful. I hadn't realized that the lunch menu wouldn't be available at this time, so would still come back to try other items.

Yelp
Visited when they first opened. large bowl full of fries; fried chicken wings crunchy and tender. The slow stewed short ribs had a longer wait but worth. Good ambience and bar area; bartender cool and mixed pretty drinks.

Yelp
We had a lovely meal in the private area of Horsefeather! It was perfect for our small group, end of year, holiday celebration. Each of the wait staff was more attentive than the last and the tasty drinks and delicious food were a total crowd pleaser!

Yelp
Solid brunch spot, their espresso martini (got the holiday special version) which slapped (5/5), the double cheeseburger (4/5) was delicious and their deviled eggs were divine (4.5/5). Avocado toast was ok, I thought the bread got a bit soggy and the avocado mixture was a bit bland so would rate a bit lower (3/5). The loco moco had well-seasoned beef patties and the oyster mushrooms added a very nice touch (4.5/5). The yuzu custard was a nice sweet (but not too sweet) treat to round out the meal (4/5). Overall service was good and the restaurant itself is beautifully sunlit and airy with nice decor and ambiance for brunch. Would return to try out more of their food and drinks!

Yelp
Was I produced to this restaurant during the Yelp Treasure Hunt but only tried one of their non alcoholic drinks. This time we came for the food. It was empty upon arrival as we were greeted, but it did get busy within the next 15 minutes. Not typically a restaurant I would eat because it did seem too fancy for me, but overall great experience. The team was great and friendly. Our server was great, but just wish the water situation was explained better lol. I realized the bottled water we got wasn't free but other than that the experience was great. The Korean wings were really good and the fried chicken was one of the best I've had. Didn't love the honey or the glaze/sauce on it too much but the chicken was cooked perfectly and was very juicy. The sliders were a miss for me due to the overpowering of the sauce which made the bun a bit soggy. Overall very solid restaurant and a must try place.

Yelp
5% surcharge. For Negroni Week 2025, they had two special cocktails: 4.7/5: The Desert Palm is a punchy white negroni with a great pandan backbone. They use a coconut/pandan cordial. From C.K. 4.0: The Night Market: bourbon, coffee infused Cappelletti, amontillado, Luxardo espresso liqueur, creme de cassis. It's quite respectable. From Finn. Food-wise: 4.7: Happy hour is all day on Monday, and 2-5 Tue-Fri. For happy hour only, the Korean cripsy chicken sliders are bomb.

Yelp
Well crap. I think I promised the staff I'd write a review and the months got away from me. Came in late fall, because this was a central location for the group to meet. Our friend put in a reservation on the same day, and we got in pretty quickly. We ended up doing more of a western-style where each of us got our own dish...but we still took a small bite of each others dish if we were interested. The best of all worlds. The cauliflower appetizer was solid, nothing to rave about. The risotto was really creamy and good. A solid choice Miso linguini was also great and is a staff favorite. I can tell why. The staff here were also attentive and friendly. We were well taken-care of, while not having them hover over us. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
First of all, to the inconsiderate and rude lady who cut in front of me while I was waiting for the hostess at the hostess stand. Please wait your turn. You can't just jump in front and try to stake claim at the bar when others would also like to be at the bar. For a fairly new restaurant, they are working out their kinks and no major mishaps had happened besides longer wait times etc. My husband and I were seated quickly once the hostess came by and we got time to review the menu. Our waiter was not around so the hostess took part of our order. We placed the remaining with our waitress. Ambiance: beautiful modern decor and fun vibes. However, very loud atmosphere. Service: hostess was super nice and welcoming. She could have been the manager. Our waitress was fine. She was nice and cordial, but maybe too quiet for the sound level the restaurant was at. Drinks: We ordered two drinks (Pilsner and New Aquitaine). The cocktail was delicious and refreshing! You can taste the alcohol in a good way. Food: I want to say some of the dishes could use some improvements. It was good but missing something. We started with the Umami fries (completely disappointed to hear the duck fat fries were taken off due to unfavorable opinions; boo). It wasn't all uniform in the fry and some were soft. For entrees we got the fried chicken and three and miso linguine. The fried chicken was extremely crunchy, but wished the chicken was flavored. I would recommend a brine. The sides were fine, main star would be the slaw. However, the miso linguine was delicious! Well flavored and cooked perfectly. It came out piping hot and the noodles were slightly past al dente. Dessert: Whisky Butter Cake. It sounds delicious and should be as so. The cake itself was great, but the accompaniments could be better. The pineapples were sour to the point of ruining the cake. I would recommend a sauce of some sort. Perhaps a whiskey caramel sauce? Also ice cream as well or more cream. Overall, I think this would be a great place for a night out for some drinks. Made me forget this was in town and country.

Yelp
I have seen so many positive reviews of this establishment and I have to say, I left confused. We went in a Sunday afternoon, where they had their brunch menu which was disappointing as I saw mostly the dinner menu. We decided to stay and try the limited menu. We landed on the tomato soft scramble and the loco moco. Nothing exceptional. For the price and the hype I would have at least expected something more. My scramble was not soft but rather a lump of scrambled eggs congealed with some tomatoes mixed into potatoes and uncooked Brussels. The bread was even burnt from the toast! The only thing I can say is- meh. The loco moco had a weird sweetness to it. Head over to Sweet Maple instead. This was mid, at most. The service was lacking, took forever to order and seemed like some tables got great service while others, like our own, were forgotten by our server who seemed overwhelmed and over it. While this may just be my perception, I don't know that this is worth the visit. Hard pass for me.

Yelp
When a friend invited me to join her on the opening day of Horsefeather in Palo Alto for one of our catch up dinners, it ended up being one of my favorite of the year. We ordered the Korean crispy wings, Fried chicken and three, Roasted cauliflower, and the Ol' Smokey cocktail, a delicious smoky mix of flavors - horsefeather "trail" blend whiskey, brown butter, bergamot, demerara, salted cardamom, clove, and angostura. The mid century modern design of the restaurant was a nice touch too. Pros: Delicious and flavorful food and cocktails, relaxing vibe and chic decor Cons: N/A

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Wednesday for Happy Hour. The spot was quiet when we arrived but lively and hopping when we left. The HH menu is small but they offered a number of crafted drinks and noshies. Tried the kiwi gimlet - could find the kiwi but enjoyed the drink as it was tart and refreshing. Ordered the chicken sliders, fries and poke tostados off the HH menu along with the roasted cauliflower from the main. All were well prepared and flavorful. The curry ketchup was a nice spin with the fries. We had a little pause in service when changing of hands but otherwise a place we will return to try out dinner.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. We had a large group and they took care of us very well. The staff there were so sweet and helpful. We were sat at their large table in the semi sectioned off, back area. The interior of this restaurant had a nice vibe to it. Perfect for date nights and group dinners. We tried a variety of their foods and drinks. Everyone agreed that everything was delicious. I had the low rider cocktail and the fried chicken entree. Loved everything about both of them. Lowrider: smokey, berry, and a bit bitter but I love that in a drink Fries chicken: perfect balance of sweet and spicy, mac n cheese side was my fave

Yelp
Horsefeather PA is located inside a Town and Country Village. The family had dinner here for a special occasion which each staff member who came to our table remembered to say something nice. It made the dinner feel extra special. The only thing was they only checked on us about the meal but never brought more water for the table. We were offer a complimentary sparkling wine for the adults. Our table ordered the Umami fries, Miso Linguini, Fried Chicken and three, Poke Bowl, Coco-Cabana drink, Birds of a Feather cocktail, Breakfast Punch cocktail, and a Yuzu Custard. The fries were dusted with some kind of spice, it was a unique flavor. The best dish was the Miso Linguini. The birds of a feather cocktail was really good, but the breakfast punch lacked that milk wash smoothness. The dining room was dimly lit with a golden hue. The large windows facing the parking lot has its drawback that any car parked in front with bright headlights will blind people. Overall, I think it's worth revisiting and trying other items on the menu and more of the cocktail menu.

Yelp
We stopped by here for a late lunch. We reserved the private room, which seats 12 people. I was surprised that this restaurant does not have a high chair for babies/toddlers. This is unfortunate, so it may not be family friendly. A young mother in my group had to hold her baby at the table, and while she was eating. However, the women's restroom had a baby changing table available, which seems confusing. The food here is tasty. We ordered the duck fat fries, and it is very flavorful and amazing! I highly recommend this. All of our food came out super fast. I had the miso linguine, and it was delicious. I loved the nori and mushrooms. Overall, service here is great. After getting seated, we were all finished eating within a hour.

Yelp
Came here to try out their all-day Monday happy hour and have to say both the drinks and the food here are a solid 4.5 stars! Their happy hour menu has 6 cocktails and $2 off beer & wine and their snacks menu on HH has 3 items, all of which are delicious and super hearty. TBH I over ordered because I didn't really know how small it would be and it was not small at all. I just want to take a moment to give the star of the show, the Umami Fries, FIVE STARS PLUS. Seriously, these are the literal best fries I've ever had and I cannot wait to eat more of them. Like RIDICULOUS. So why the 4 star? We sat at the bar, and had to refill our own water a lot, and couldn't really get someone to fill our water after I closed the tab early (because I didn't want my friend to pay). So unfortunately while the food and ambiance were awesome, we didn't get as much service as I'd like. However, I'm definitely still coming back for these hero fries.

Yelp
Wow I had a great experience here! I'm always a little suspicious when I can get OpenTable reservations, but I was really impressed with their cocktails and food. Our table's favorite was the uni pasta, but we also really liked the chicken wings, ceviche and cake. The short rib was a little dry and the only miss. My cocktail was amazing! The decor was dark and beautiful, the vibe a little moody - nice date night option but also a lot of seating for larger groups. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Really enjoyable experience with quality food that didn't break the bank. Came in on a Monday for ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR (WOOT!). Got the Umami fries, poke tostada's, miso linguini, and whiskey butter cake and all were enjoyable! Umami fries are delectably munchable, the poke tostada's had great flavor, and the miso linguini was a great Asian fusion dish that was unique, filling and creamy! I wouldn't get the butter cake again as it was a bit dry, but overall the vibe was awesome and I'd love to come back to try those Korean crispy chicken sliders. Just didn't have enough stomach room this time

Yelp
The good: fried chicken was nicely breaded, juicy, and very pleasing to eat, spicy coleslaw was delicious, the macaroni-and-cheese was nice but the cheese went cold and solidified rather quickly (??), the corn was less to my taste. The great: the creamy miso linguine with seaweed, lemon oil, and tomatoes is possibly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever eaten. So flavourful! Not-so-good: the server came around and checked up on us bothersomely often, until we wanted to get the bill at which point he was nowhere to be found. The decor has a pleasant mid-century modern/western feel, but I don't like the wood wool ceiling panels.

Yelp
We walked in on a Saturday evening not long after their soft opening, and were pleasantly surprised to get a prime seat at the bar without a reservation. It's brand new so the space looks fresh and gorgeous, with a lively crowd. The drinks - my favorites were their Breakfast Punch milk punch (so smooth) and their Daywalker (great fun size and tasty tepache foam). I was also blown away by how good my partner's zero proof Shorebird was - always the strong sign of a good bar program that can make excellent mocktails. The food - was very surprised by their generous portions, so watch out for that when ordering (although we loved the leftovers). The star was definitely the Miso Linguine but the Fried Chicken & Three was definitely hearty (if you enjoy the saucy almost Korean like style). We would skip the vegan Mango Lime ceviche next time. Definitely want to go back to try more dishes, especially smaller plates.

Yelp
Food (4/5) For our party of two, we got the Chopped Romaine & Stone Fruit (5/5), Duck Fat Fries (5/5), Miso Linguini (4/5) with side of Lemon Butter Prawns (4/5) and Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast (4/5). The Chopped Romaine & Stone Fruit ($18) was delicious and fresh and mixed wonderfully, the puffed quinoa adding a fun textural element. The Duck Fat Fries ($11) were yummy, no issues. My Miso Linguini ($26) and side of Prawns ($12) were good, but the linguini was very very savory and salty. I know dash and miso cream can definitely increase the saltiness, but I wish it was balanced better. I tried the Cream Sherry Braised Beef Roast ($36) which was fine, but low-key giving airplane beef stew vibes. Our server recommended the Birds of a Feather ($18) which was yummy! Sweet but not too sweet. Also tried the dirty martini which was very good. Price (3/5) Each entree is a minimum $20 and up and cocktails are $18. I know this is the Bay Area but it's still on the higher end imo. I don't feel like my entree and shrimp is worth the total $38. There is an additional employee living surcharge (specific to Palo Alto I believe). Wait Time (4/5) We came on a Friday evening and was expecting a long wait. We were told 1 hour and so walked around the plaza only to receive a text Service (4/5) Our server was kind and efficient, no issues. We did have to flag down a separate server/bus person for water after we had placed our food orders. Ambiance (3/5) The inside was nice with wood paneling and felt like a nice environment. But it was very loud and could use some sound-insulating or isolating items. We were seated in a separate alcove off towards the back so it wasn't as loud. If you were seated in the main dining area you may have to raise your voice to be heard. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Parking/Access (4/5) Located in the Town & Country Plaza, the parking situation can be hectic but you can usually find spots near Trader Joe's or by Antoine's Cookie Shop on the far ends of the plaza. Entrance is accessible for wheelchair users (no button though). I would be back with someone who had never been here before, but I wouldn't choose this as a repeat place since there are many other places on my to-try list and it is definitely $$$ :)

Yelp
I love HorseFeather in SF so was super excited it opened up closer in Palo Alto! The drinks here are always super good. I tried the Birds of Feather which was amazing. My group got the duck fat fries which are always so amazing to share. We got the fried chicken and three, beef roast, miso linguini and the risotto for entrees. I'd say the risotto was my least favorite but all the options were so good. I'll definitely Be coming back!

Yelp
The menu has symbols to indicate if a dish is vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free but there is no key for the symbols. It's easy to confuse which dishes can be made vegan or vegetarian. A D indicates the dish contains diary but with the current labeling scheme it doesn't make sense to call out diary but no other allergens. Multiple staff seemed to be equally confused by the menu when we asked them to clarify if dishes were vegan or vegetarian. It was as if we were all trying to decipher the symbols . Several of the item we wanted weren't in stock and we weren't informed until the wrong item came out and we clarified that we hadn't ordered that item. Then we were told the item was wanted was out of stock. It just seems like out ticket was either inputted wrong or the waitress was informed of what was available and wasn't honest. We asked for additions to some of our entrees and those items were never added or brought to the table. We requested a breakfast burrito with chorizo and the burrito came out without chorizo. The staff was super kind and offered to remake it or bring it on the side. We asked for hot sauce and had to ask twice before it was brought out. But the number of mistakes was adding up at this point. While I appreciate that they can offer gluten free dishes I feel the way this is done loses the integrity of the dish. The menu indicates the loco moco can be made gluten free. But this is done via the removal of the gravy which is core to the dish. Food was decent but the other mistakes made the dining experience poor. TLDR: Staff doesn't understand the menu or know what's available. Menu is confusing.

Yelp
Daywalker cocktail was delicious Plant-based Mango lime "ceviche" (pea) was amazing. Giant chunks of jicama, guacamole, mango and the flavors were chef's kiss. Huge portion of hot, juicy, sweet fried Chicken. Was not a fan of the corn, slaw and Mac and cheese sides. Attentive service. Thanks!

Yelp
I came to Horsefeather for the first time tonight. I ordered a few drinks, and my baby ordered a mocktail called the Coco Cabana it was pretty good. The restaurant was so cute and festive; it felt very wintery and Christmasy in there. Our bartender, CK, was amazing. He had great customer service, was very attentive, and kept a smile on his face the whole time. He always checked in to see if we needed anything, and you could tell he genuinely enjoys working behind the bar. The restaurant has more of an adult atmosphere, which I really liked. It's nice, clean, cozy, and perfect for a date night. We ordered the Korean chicken wings, and they were very good crunchy, crispy, and with the perfect balance of tang and sweetness. I'm really looking forward to dining there again. Their fried chicken looked divine I saw someone order it, and now I can't wait to try it next time. They're located in the shopping plaza next to Trader Joe's in Palo Alto, right across from the Stanford Shopping Center and the Stanford football stadium.

Yelp
Had a reservation on a Tuesday and got seated right away. The ambiance is so cute with plenty of tables and seating at the bar. We got a few cocktails, both of which where so strong. For appetizers we got the duck fat fries and the deviled eggs. Both were good, but the deviled eggs were INCREDIBLE. definitely get this!! For the mains we got the fried chicken and three and the miso linguini. The fried chicken was so juicy and perfectly crispy. The Mac n cheese and corn were a great addition too! This dish is HUGE so would definitely recommend to share it. The miso linguini was perfectly salty and umami. Definitely worth a try. They even gave us free sparkling wine since we were celebrating our anniversary. Super cute restaurant!

Yelp
Checked out the newest spot in T&C! Tucked behind Trader Joe's is this modern, casual eatery filled to the brim with all sorts of gastronomic eats & libations. While we didn't indulge in any hard bevvies, my friend & I made sure to order plenty of apps & mains to share. Eats: *Duck Fat Fries *Korean Crispy Wings *Miso Linguine *Side of Lemon Butter Prawns *Cream Sherry Beef Roast *Chocolate Fig Cake (on the house for the birthday girl) My faves were actually the apps. Wings were so saucy-licious and crisp! Sweet and slightly tangy from gochujang and comes with ranch. They even provided wet nappies for this because things will get messy. No regrets! Fries were phenomenal! Tossed in saffron and accompanied by curried ketchup. Sherry roast pulled apart so tenderly with merely a fork. Miso linguine had so many flavors going on with a delectable, almost undetectable cheesiness between pasta strands. Lemon butter prawns were plump and cooked well, could've actually used more lemon IMO and grilling them would've been top notch. Chocolate. Cake. Figs. Berries. Pomegranate. Not too sweet and the perfect ending to a sumptuous meal. Dollop of silky chocolate chantilly cream omg! *Waitress B brought all the good vibes! She made us feel so at ease and was extremely attentive. The place is new, they're busy, but service was still amazing! Make reservations online. I'll have to order a cocktail next time!
