Where to Play Pickleball While Eating and Drinking in the Austin Area

"There’s so much to do at the sprawling Horseshoe Bay resort, which does include playing pickleball. The all-inclusive resort offers eight pickleball courts in addition to its 14 hard and clay tennis courts, so you can master whichever netted sport you like. Lessons are also available. There are also six food and beverage spots to choose from, with both casual and upscale options spanning Hill Country cuisine, barbecue, seafood, steaks, burgers, pizza, beers, cocktails, and more." - Darcie Duttweiler

This Popular Lake in Texas Hill Country Has a Floating Pool Inside of It

"Over Memorial Day weekend, Horseshoe Bay Resort debuted its floating pool, a 70,000-gallon pool entirely hovering inside of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson. The new feature designed by Texan Tim Greeson, includes a deck with lounge chairs and private cabanas, and poolside service from the resort's The Shack, Sand Bar, and H20 Bar. The resort also offers a Splash Safari Aqua Park, a floating obstacle course on the lake, and a beach area with volleyball courts and a marina. Additionally, it features the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, three golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., one by Jack Nicklaus, and the Whitewater Putting Course." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Horseshoe Bay Resort

"Why did this hotel catch your attention?Perfectly-trimmed palm trees surround the giant, stone-accented, 400-room resort that’s right on Lake LBJ. Everything is meticulously maintained from the golf course to the pools to the sports courts and full-service marina. It’s 7,000 acres of country club meets lakeside yacht venue where buttoned-up business execs and their families come to unwind and enjoy the plentiful amenities. What's the backstory?Horseshoe Bay is part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, and has a history of being a high-end wedding venue. Golf enthusiasts visit for the five golf courses, three of them award winning, that were designed by World Golf Hall of Fame members Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and Jack Nicklaus, and some use the complimentary private jet charter service from Dallas and Houston to fly to the resort with their booked golf package. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book? The resort has traditional rooms, suites, villas, condos, and vacation rentals, but the best places to stay are the rooms overlooking Lake LBJ like the Premium Balcony Rooms, Executive Suite, Presidential Suite, and Magnolia Suites; you don’t want to miss out on those gorgeous views. Designs are bathed in neutral grays and cream that come off as contemporary with slightly mod touches in the armchairs and lamps. Marble bathrooms have clean modern lines and walk-in showers, but mostly, the rooms don’t have a ton of personality because you’ll be spending much of your time out taking advantage of the wealth of resort amenities. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?Eight different restaurants speckle the grounds. There is steak, Texas barbecue and Gulf Coast seafood of course, but also healthy spa-inspired dishes. Sandwiches, burgers, and snacks cater to the on-the-go crowd. Try the Texas corndog elotes, Hill Country omelet, or Hill Country chicken fried steak at J’s Restaurant and Bar, the chicken fried lobster or seasonal vegetable strudel at the Yacht Club, or the hole-in-one quesadilla burger at Slick Rock Grill. Anything to note about the staff?Efficient and upbeat service feels smooth, and although they’re not rushing, they’re certainly making sure you feel your needs are being handled promptly. What type of travelers will you find here?Golf enthusiasts, wedding parties, and families. Men in dress shorts and polos accompany women in tailored preppy dresses; they’re fashionable in freshly-ironed attire. By day, modern cut swimsuits and colorful wraps by the pool, or slacks and golf shirts on the course; by night, accessorized in contemporary fashions that could easily go from work to a sit-down dinner. What about the neighborhood? Does the hotel fit in?The resort fits in with the boating and water culture of the Lake LBJ community with kayak, paddleboard, and boats rentals, as well as with its yacht club and marina. Its golf courses stand out among others in the area though. Is there anything you'd change? Some restaurants have specific dress codes (so make sure to have the proper attire). Any other hotel features worth noting? In addition to the five golf courses (including an 18-hold putting course), there are multiple tennis and pickle ball courts, a full-service spa, several pools, and a kids club. Staff can organize sunset cruises on the lake, or area wine tours, and there’s an airport and jet center with hangar spaces and aircraft parking. Bottom line: Why are we choosing Horseshoe Bay?You'll everything for the type of stay you want at your fingertips; whether it’s relaxed and rejuvenating, or taking full advantage of the surplus of activities and amenities." - Mandy Ellis

This resort has been really nice overall. Stayed 3 nights in July. Not terribly crowded. Elevators have been easy to access overall. Clean and quiet room overall on the 6th floor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The pools can get crowded during the day. Better to go in the morning if wanting a quieter experience. Parking isn’t bad, but they take up a lot of parking for their valet service, but the valet parking lot wasn’t even half full. Overall, I would come back to this resort.

Google
5 stars for such a well thought out idea and definitely is a place to bring your little ones to be entertained and spend time as a family. However I will give a couple of recommendations: better informed staff. It felt that every person we stopped to ask questions only knew about what they were doing. For the prices, quality matters, and to pay $91 dollars 4 drinks and a hot dog is definitely excessive, however if the drinks were exceptional and the hot dog as well I wouldn’t have a problem paying because I am paying not only for food but service and QUALITY. For such a young staff I will say they excel at doing their best but not above and beyond as you would expect at such a beautiful resort. This is not a place to have a romantic getaway as it’s a lot of young kids and families, but it is a great place to come with the family for their is not lack of activities and pool areas. The drive is a beautiful on its own so definitely worth the long haul. We thank you Horseshoe Bay for making our trip so relaxing, definitely no hassles while you’re here. See you all next time!

We stayed at Horseshoe Bay Resort this weekend and overall had a great time. The resort is beautiful and has a lot to offer, especially for families with kids—there’s no shortage of fun activities and scenic views. That said, our arrival experience could have been warmer. When I checked in, I wasn’t greeted with a welcome, nor was any help offered with my bags. I had to explain that I was checking in, which felt a bit impersonal. Also, at the pool, we weren’t initially allowed into the floating pool area even though there were plenty of empty seats. Thankfully, a manager stepped in and allowed our group in after we asked. On a positive note, the front desk manager was very receptive when I shared my feedback and kindly offered a complimentary beverage. I also received a follow-up call the next day from a staff member who was very pleasant and genuinely interested in my experience. And a special shoutout to the lovely staff member working in the bird exhibit—she was incredibly welcoming and encouraged us to visit with the parrots, which was a fun and unique highlight of the stay! All in all, it’s a beautiful resort with great amenities. A little more attention to hospitality at check-in would go a long way, but we appreciated the follow-up.

The resort is truly lovely! We were there coordinating an outdoor wedding on a weather challenged day and these over the top service conscious and genuinely friendly people helped us to make it an incredible and beautiful event— and made our stay a lovely and special experience too!!|Norborto— possibly the kindest waiter ever! He truly cared we enjoyed our many meals— and tried to make them a little extra special!!|Dylan at the front desk—he was trained exceptionally well by the hotel management and by his mother!! POLITE and so helpful!!|Jessie the resort transportation cart specialist was so personable and interested in how we were enjoying our stay! Friendly and precious!!|All the people in the valet area- wow! We had LOTS of wedding materials ( car was stuffed!) and they were all efficient, helpful and knew we were on a tight schedule!! Unbelievably respectful of our time and precious cargo!|Would recommend this venue to future brides!!

This place is run on amazing hospitality. Every single person was so kind. Now J's restaurant is gross and over priced. It was actually a topic with other people staying there that we didn't know. The flies on the food was disgusting. Bacon for breakfast was black and burned. I'm a foodie so this was disappointing. Very small market with Starbucks hidden and even smaller gift shop. My bathroom door hand a barn door that was difficult to open and close with zero privacy as its never fully closed. All pools were great and clean! Entire facility was clean. I didn't enjoy smelling weed at 3 am. Bed were comfy. Fridge was difficult to open/close as the legs were broken so the carpet caught it. Put put was amazing along with the food at 360 restaurant. Won't go back.

We recently stayed at Horseshoe Bay Resort and had a great time overall. The staff was consistently friendly and welcoming, which helped set the tone for a relaxing family getaway. We booked a two-bedroom villa that was spacious, clean, and comfortably accommodated our family of four. It provided the perfect home base for our time at the resort. Our first impression of the villa was very positive, but I do want to take a moment to mention something that gave us pause. As an African American family, we were surprised and unsettled to see decorative cotton stems displayed in the space. While this might be viewed by some as a neutral or rustic design element, cotton holds a deep and painful historical significance for Black Americans. Using it as decor—especially in a hospitality setting—felt insensitive and out of place. With so many decorative options available, we hope the resort considers choosing something that’s beautiful and welcoming to all guests, without invoking painful associations. On a lighter note, the amenities for families were a major highlight. Our children had a blast at the arcade, enjoyed making s’mores in the evening, and loved exploring the Jungle Clubhouse. My husband played golf and couldn’t say enough about the top-tier service on the course, including the club cleaning. I visited the spa and had an excellent massage—the staff there was professional and created a truly relaxing experience. One concern worth noting: the hot tub area near the spa had visible mold or algae on the walls, which raised some sanitation concerns. For a resort of this caliber, we expected better maintenance in high-traffic wellness areas. We also enjoyed lunch at the float-up pool bar, which offered a fun atmosphere and good food. Despite a few areas that could be improved, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and would return again. With a few thoughtful changes, the experience could be even better and more inclusive for all guests.

I recently took my wife to Horseshoe Bay Resort to celebrate her birthday, and we were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-tier—every staff member we interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. The entire resort was spotless, with every detail clearly well maintained. You can tell they take great pride in keeping everything clean and welcoming. Our room was immaculate and beautifully appointed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The overall atmosphere of the resort is serene and relaxing, with stunning views and thoughtful design that really enhance the experience. Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying a delicious meal, or just walking the grounds, it felt like a true escape. Horseshoe Bay Resort made my wife’s birthday one to remember, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway or a special occasion—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
Another beautiful resort for families and couples. This resort is a romantic place with a very nice restaurant and spa services for couples. Lots of activities for kids and adults and a nice size pool to have fun. Great venue for weddings, special events, and business gatherings. The room rates depend on the time of the year, but if you book in advance, you have a better chance to get a reasonable rate. Rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Yelp
Nice course. But I shouldn't have to pay $400 a night for their basic hotel room just for the ability to play the decent golf course. When you account for the cost of the room, there is better golf to be had elsewhere. Don't play golf here unless you already had to be here for some other reason like a relatives wedding. And if your relative is getting married here, then the cost likely didn't matter to you anyway

Yelp
Booked a room for Thursday night. When we were being IDd to get into the casino they told me the drinks were free as long as I was playing so I went and put a dollar in the machine and asked for a drink and the bar tender gave us a beer and a very watered down vodka sprite we drank it and played a little more then I asked the bartender for another drink and he said oh baby I let you and you're boyfriend slide the first time but now it's going to be a 20$ minimum.

Yelp
In planning our 4th of July vacation there was one destination we have not experienced and it was to see the fireworks display over Lake Lyndon B. Johnson. The place to stay was at the Horseshoe Bay Resort of which have not stayed here in 10 years. We arrived early decided to park at the self lot and noticed the lobby had been renovated where this hotel used to be operated by Marriott. The place felt very inviting and felt luxurious. I checked with the reservation staff and they said would let me when our room was ready. In the meantime we explored the hotel and grounds to find a nice pool & spa, J's Restaurant and Bar, Whitewater Golf Course, pickleball courts, and the impressive Waterfront. Enjoyed a few drinks at the Whitewater 360 Sports Club where soon I received a call in notifying my room was ready. Our best room was nice and roomy with a luxury appeal and with a balcony where could enjoy the outdoors, and look down at the pool. The room was standard like another with a mini fridge, comfortable bed, large flatscreen, and gorgeous bath. Over the course of our vacation stay we reserved cabanas at both the hotel pool and the Waterfront. It was a busy time of year so it was worth it. The one at the Waterfront was a much better experience where the staff was much more attentive and frequently visited plus we had an additional lounging chairs to further enjoy the lake view. Both included an ice chest full of drinks of your choice and the one by the lake offered us a fruit platter. They had a large portion of the lake roped off for swimming but recommend wearing water shoes wheee their are rocks near the edge and some big ones they need to remove. Since we were staying at the Tower we did not have access to the Yacht Club pool, but both the Hotel pool and Waterfront were good a substitute. There was entertainment with Big City Outlaws Band performing at the Tower Live Oak Lawn and spectacular fireworks the night after. Every morning we visited the exotic birds and turtles, and enjoyed S'Mores in the evening. Overall we had a great time and took advantage of the amenities offer to us. Could write more about this place.

Yelp
I attended the Bronco off-roading adventure in Austin country side. It was so excited and represented very well with a lot of amazing activities to do. However, resting in the comfortable resort with the pool next to my village style room made it even more easy to enjoy.

Kim B.

Yelp
I would give a zero star rating if I could. The website is terrible. I booked a room and it booked 2 rooms. I got that taken care of. Then I booked a cabana and got booked for 2. Mind you, these are over $600 each. I told the people at the pool and they said they would take care of it. Not ONE other cabana was being used so it is not as if they lost money because somehow I was booked for 2 instead of 1. I got charged over $600 TWICE and when I called to get a refund for one they wouldn't refund. We didn't use the cabana. I was told it would be taken care of and it wasn't. WORST customer service ever and the guy who stole over $600 name is Jordan at the Waterfront. In addition, the restaurant at the Waterfront was awful. Service and food and overpriced. The grounds are beautiful, rooms were good and the food a J's was good but the customer service by Tanner and Jordan was terrible. Do NOT stay here unless you want to get stolen from.

Yelp
Basics: tv , bed, bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi etc were all in good shape and worked without issue Cleanliness: The bed , bathroom, and kitchen area were fine. My biggest issue was the bugs. I understand it's very hard to completely remove any and all bugs, especially on a ground level unit, and especially in Texas. I also understand how quickly spiders can sneak in and make a small web. What I don't understand is how we can be asked to wait until the afternoon to check in, stand around at the desk waiting to ensure our room is clean... then the room not be clean. I'm not the type to go around a room with white gloves looking for dust, but with a toddler you tend to get in the habit of looking at things from waist height to make sure there aren't any issues. Some of these surfaces haven't been given a once over in some time, let alone shortly prior to us getting our room keys. Food: Nothing i ate on our weekend was bad, the breakfast buffet was pretty good Pricing: Food-Everything seems to be priced 10-15 dollars more than it should be, but part of the price I'm sure is the thought you're paying for the convenience / quality of a "resort Amenities: Visually the property is well maintained, lush , and honestly just nice to roam around taking the water and vegetation in. Seemingly nothing we were told/ is advertised was a actually set on honoring the schedule or descriptions given In room guides or at the front desk. We went to the snow cone area at the set time- no snow cones We went to lawn games at the set time- no lawn games We went to the putting area when it was supposed to be open- closed We went to the flamingo show where we were supposed to hear facts, get a coloring book and see the bird. - we arrived a bit after the set time, they let the bird out and walked away. Service: The dude at the front desk was nice, attentive, and seems to very much be trying his best. J's restaurant I tried to call in and order dessert. I was asked if I was trying to order a pizza. I won't gripe about non-native English speakers in the service industry but at least try to make sure the person answering the phone for room service can help me. I decided to not be lazy and just walk my order in. I stand around at the desk while two people who seem overwhelmed just talk back and forth and fumble the phone calls. A manager lady comes , and ensures I'm seen. I end up having to point to the items on the menu to get what I want, then I proceed to wait about half an hour for two desserts and a drink. 50 bucks later I leave with my bite of cake, shot of old fashioned and a pretty good piece of apple pie. I get to the pool, which was nice when we were there, and see the staff preparing to close ( early , a theme all weekend). I hate holding staff up with a last second order so I ask if they're closing. I'm told yes so I cut my losses and go to the pool. 5 mins later I see multiple people get served. Not sure what the deal was there. We decide to go fishing, before hand we ask if there are seats around the marina or if we should bring the ones we packed. We're told there are seats, get to the marina , nowhere to sit. All in all I was looking forward to a nice experience and left wondering why anyone would pay to stay here.

Yelp
We always have the most amazing time at this resort. It's an easy, scenic drive for us and the perfect destination for our small group of friends to enjoy our time without our kiddos. Although, this is a great getaway with kids as well! There are plenty of family friendly activities here. This place has a little something for EVERYONE in the family. Spa, marina, yacht club, kids play areas, upscale restaurants, sports bar, golf course, putt-putt course, tennis, multiple pools, SMORES, on and on, and on. We were fortunate to come in a slow week and there were way less people than years prior. The sun was out, drinks were great, food was on point. Big shoutout to Heather at the 360 cafe! The sports bar/restaurant by the putt-putt course. We really clicked with her and thoroughly enjoyed our conversations, adored her transparency. By the end of our dinner, we looked at her as more of a friend than just our server and even tried to get her to join us when she got off (she respectfully declined due to her hours). Please ask for her if you stop by! She's truly a hidden gem. :-) We had the spinach and artichoke dip that she recommended and it was amazing. We loved the bread. I hope it is still on the menu the next time we go back. We weren't too big on our pizza unfortunately... we thought it was mildly overcooked. We loved everything else though! Service, appetizers, drinks, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We also loved Marshall at the J's bar! He was a hoot. He hit it off with my husband immediately and I could barely get him away from the man to let him do his job! Exceptional drinks and exceptional service. Ohhhh and our burgers were also top tier. They were cooked exactly as we requested. The only thing I could complain on was a server getting yelled at right behind us, by whom I'm assuming was a manager (I could be wrong though). If it was a manager, it came off as a little unprofessional and embarrassing... I understand that you gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes, but do it in private at least. I wish I could remember our servers name at the Yacht Club. She was a sweet heart. Gave us some great recommendations, probably the best on the menu, considering we didn't really enjoy any of our food our prior visit- and we ordered ALMOST everything on the menu! ;-) The staff in every department always cater to us, we don't have to lift a finger, which is exactly what to expect from a resort. We spent so much money- but you get what you pay for! If you're going to spend money, do it at the Horseshoe Bay Resort!

Yelp
This is an overly priced resort, we rent a 2 bedroom villa and the AC unit upstairs did not work. And the refrigerator was not cooling. Maintenance said they would have to send an AC company to check it out. He said his temperature gun was measuring the fridge temp at 30 degrees. Even tho it felt warm and our milk carton had condensation. Oh and said the reason was that we loaded the fridge with water bottles and our groceries smh, Moved us the next day to another villa. Only to have slept on a very old mattress that had a huge dip in the middle of it. I say if you are going to charge 4-star prices. Then upgrade your resort unless you golf or play tennis. Save your money. You can no longer upgrade to use the yacht club. So all you have AC is the pool and a small part of the marina. Definitely not returning

C R.

Yelp
Just visit this place "resort" but I don't think so. No lights to play on courts after dark, no whitewater golf pudding green, says its under maintenance. No exotic birds, cages only. Be dreaded for another 2 days to go...bummer!

Yelp
My daughter and I had a delightful stay at the hotel at Horseshoe Bay Resort starting on Labor Day afternoon 2021. Horseshoe Bay Resort is a 7,000-acre AAA Four Diamond resort about 45 minutes from Austin in the Texas Hill Country. We had such a great time & it was a perfect time to be there. It's a beautiful resort! With all the palm trees and beautiful vegetation, it seemed like I was in a tropical paradise instead of Texas. We ate at several of their restaurants, which were all great: Yacht Club, J's Restaurant, Slick Rock Grill, and Whitewater 360 Sports Club. We really enjoyed their lovely beach on the lake with an ample choice of nice lounge chairs and beach umbrellas. We also enjoyed the Yacht Club Pool near the Marina. They took reservations, so the number of people using the pool was always small. There were also other pools available. At the Marina, they had wave-runners, canoes, and boats available for a fee. There were also bicycles available with no fee. We very much enjoyed so many amenities at Horseshoe Bay Resort. They also had a great spa and FOUR beautiful 18 hole golf courses! In addition to the lovely hotel rooms, they had villas and homes that could be rented. With so many acres of fun, it was wonderful that they gave shuttle rides anywhere on the property with a simple phone call...golf carts, Suburbans, and vans were always available on the property. The staff were all very helpful and so friendly! We had such a great stay at Horseshoe Bay Resort!

Yelp
only an overnight, the resort DOENS'T accept cash for anything, 0 rating for that! the room was mediocre, no microwave, AC didn't work breakfast was 30+ dollars with fees tacked on and a buffet with same scram egg choices youll get anywhere else and regular hotels. refrigerator didn't work. Business operating in America that doesn't take America dollars.. No thanks

Yelp
Over rated and ripped off in restaurant fees for okay food. Will never come back. Golf there also and the greens were patchy and they still charged $270 per person. What a joke. Heard about this place years ago and thought it would be nice to visit with my family and kids. Pool area was bare minimum. 2 nights with special hotel rates and the food for two days was almost $2000..and the food alone was like 500..crazy right? Lol. I'm not sure why they are running their business like that.. trying to keep it high class but you got let's deliver then. People there were nice but it's far from great for their amenities and food.

Yelp
I really struggled on this review. I'm going to start with the positive: - we received a free room upgrade because it was our honeymoon - the massages at the spa were wonderful, but the pool wasn't open - The staff working is very helpful and attentive The negatives: - our first meal here was dinner at Jay's and I got food poisoning, which ruined our entire honeymoon - A lot of the drink machines are broke - I sent management an email regarding the food poisoning and have been completely ignored, but the banquet manger helped us while we were there - food is pricey.. very pricey - I wish there was an adults only pool or area. If there was one, I couldn't find it. I made reservations at the Yacht Club because I thought it was adults only. We got there 5 minutes after our 3:30pm reservation and it was packed. I don't think the reservation times are enforced - we waited 20 min for someone to come up and help us with our luggage. We finally decided not to wait anymore. They actually brought our car around without us asking, so we were late to our Spa appointment. In all. It was mediocre. Some positives and negatives. But getting food poisoning and being completely ignored from management left a sour taste in our mouth. We probably won't be back.

Yelp
The Resort is outstanding. The room was immaculate, and the bed was so good I slept like a baby. Front Desk associates were Excellent and very helpful. I felt very safe due to the excellent and very skilled security staff. This reflects the leadership of Horseshoe Bay Resort Director of Safety & Security Flip Diphillipo.

Yelp
I've visited Horseshoe Bay Resort 3 times now: once for vacation in 2017, a few years ago for a weekend getaway, and just recently for my bachelorette and birthday party! I've had a great experience every time, and I enjoy the relaxing vibes of the resort and that everything is within walking distance from the hotel tower or the luxury water condos. My favorite resort restaurant is The Yacht Club, and that's also my favorite pool/hot tub. I love paddle boarding and doing the sunset cruises and relaxing at the pool with the bar and ordering food. It's a very lowkey weekend getaway and very relaxing for those who just appreciate lounging, dining, and being in a lush space. We stayed in one of the luxury water condos and it was basically like a house! It fit all 7 of us comfortably with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining area, living space, and not 1 but 2 patios! It was beautiful and very fun. The only minor complaint I would say is there doesn't seem to be any daily housekeeping, so we quickly ran out of trash bags and piled our trash in one space. The elevator is also really slow and has 0 air circulation, so it can be very hot. But those are minor nitpicks - overall, the stay was wonderful and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Derek the valet driver is extremely aggressive the manager seemed to not care at all. he cussed at the whole family and acted like he was going to fight us for simply asking about a shuttle. He was definitely on some sort of substance his pupils were very dilated and my mom was afraid that he was going to kill her. ive asked other families here and they agree that Derek was aggressive with them aswell. the resort is great but this alone ruined our trip. the night crew is not good at all.

Yelp
Horseshoe Bay Resort is an amazing spot to get away in the hill country in Texas. It is a city within itself. There are hotels to stay in, condos to rent, restaurants to dine, bars to unwind, pools & beach to relax! You must visit to get a grasp of the amazingness this resort has to offer!

Yelp
Food and beverages are ridiculous. Our $20 basic breakfast was to include 3 eggs, not even 2. Ham was very thin sliced. $8 for toast Draft beer is $9. Bring a picnix if you stay here. Checkout is 11 am, $50 to stay later.

Yelp
The staff was wonderful here and the grounds by the main hotel were pretty nice. The double room villa we got was cute and big - perfect for a family of 6. There was plenty of room! It was extremely clean but maid service didn't come by to clean the room everyday like I'm used to in other resorts. The villas are sectioned off from the hotel and feel like apartments and not a resort. It's pricey too. I ordered wings at the main pool and I only got 4 wings and it was $20 plus tax etc. HA! Big Plus: The hotel kids indoor playground was awesome and there was someone there to play with kids too. I think this hotel is great and with more features added and some remodeling it could really wow! I'll be back when they have more to offer.

Yelp
There is actually TWO parts-because now after evening checking OUT the hotel we are STILL receiving poor service. Also emails sent to the General Manager are unanswered and when you call the front desk you are hung up on the phone by Levi who is a front desk supervisor. First Complaint which I emailed through LinkedIn. Hello I have never been treated in such a poor manner at a resort until today. The level of customer service is equal to that of a Motel 6. This is not what I expect here. The communication in the Yacht Club is non existent as well as the service. I was told By the hostess she has no idea what's going on...she was just making phone calls. I then walked to the bar and was ignored by the bartender who was too busy on their apple watch. Due to my frustration I asked for a manager since I could not get any assistance. The supervisor told me it was closed for the lunch. The hostess said they were open but didn't have a menu or know where I should go. And the bartender who finally looked up because I was speaking to the supervisor said they were open but today was going to the last day lunch is served. My issue is and taking time to write this long complaint during a time I am paying to relax and reset. I do not like that. I shouldn't be having to track someone down on LinkedIn because I can not get assistance in house. This is embarrassing. That was the first part of my complaint. The second half is that Levi called me Monday after we checked out on Sunday to try to get our credit card for payment of breakfast that was already taken care of because of the breakfast package. There were so many balls dropped here that it is embarrassing. From customer service, food quality & experience. I wouldn't recommend Horseshoe Bay to my worst enemy.

Yelp
I had had this resort on my list of places to go for a couple of years. Unfortunately the quality of service was not up to my expectations. Now to be fair it's very challenging time to hire and properly train servers and staff. However some very simple things could have made the stay more enjoyable. 360 bar - This restaurant / bar offers a good atmosphere and a fun place to gather. This is where the staffing was the biggest concern or issue. I got up to get a menu off the bar and someone cleared our table including our drinks that were just ordered. I'm a fairly patient person but this was unacceptable because I left the table for about 1 minute. I asked the person why did you clear our table we haven't ordered yet. His response was "we close in 40 minutes." Inside restaurant - best service but when our food was up in the window (which I learned to keep an eye on) I couldn't find a server to bring our food to the table. The cook started pouring on more sweet potato fries on to try to keep the plated ones warm! Pool staff - utterly clueless Now I didn't think it was possible for a resort to run out of pool towels late in the season..... but they found a way. The drinks they make are ok, but I haven't found a better margarita than my own. When I had a long conversation with a manager named Michael, I was more frustrated than when I started with him. In one ear and out the other ear (he didn't seem to care about our issues during the stay). Golf courses are amazing, that's the part that brings people back. Excellent service inside the golf shops and golf courses are in excellent condition.

Yelp
We had a great stay at HSB resort! The staff was kind and friendly, made us feel welcomed. We didn't get to try any of the amenities due to our quick trip and wanting to explore the area. The pool looked nice and refreshing. The stroll along the golf course was lovely and I honestly want to go back already!

Yelp
After working there almost 3 year something to do with upper management decision wasn't given me a raise due to my health issues that I just found out that year this was in 2021 when I was evaluating my year with the company that's what Rey Gomez told me

Yelp
Before deciding on this resort, we had already checked into two different hotels on this day only to check back out. The reason was because their mattresses were badly stained with urine and poor quality bedding. Before staying at any hotel, you should always pull back the sheets and mattress cover to see just what you're really getting into. The bed in our room at this resort had a mattress that was like new and the bedding was perfectly clean. Upon checking in, Jimmy was extremely helpful and gave us a fantastic rate. Now for the pros: The room was well furnished with a large flat screen, a mini fridge and a good size closet. The bathroom was equally well crafted with a nice shower and had good hot water pressure. The curtains that cover the balcony door were excellent at keeping out direct sunlight. There is a nice restaurant called J's in the lobby of which you can find separate reviews on yelp. There is also a nice small coffee shop downstairs with some fresh baked goods. It is quite obvious they have poured some serious money into this place especially as you walk the grounds. Everywhere you look there are fountains, rivers and waterfalls along with meticulously cared for gardens. There are also numerous tennis and pickle ball courts, so bring your gear. There's even one of the most beautiful putting courses I've ever seen. There is a very nice outdoor pool and a fairly sizable hot tub, so make sure to bring your bathing suit. If I could change anything about our stay, I would add a ceiling fan to the room and a microwave. We were going to use the hot tub, but after testing the waters we found that it just was not hot enough for our liking. That aside, this was definitely one of the nicest places we've ever stayed at and we will definitely be back

Yelp
Horseshoe Bay Resort is a hidden gem in the Hill Country! The views are beautiful, staff friendly and lots of fun activities to do! While I enjoy the leisure of the spa and sun bathing, my guest enjoyed the golf course. If you live in Central Texas, this is the best staycation place!

Yelp
The resort is nice but the staff needs to go back to hospitality training. At check-in, we were told that certain restaurants would be open but then found out that those were closed. When we tried to make reservations for dinner at the Yacht Club, the manager on duty (Levi) told us that the Yacht Club was booked out for the next two nights and that we should eat at the restaurant in the hotel. We decided to take a chance and went to the Yacht Club anyways. It was not booked, actually almost empty. We had a wonderful and romantic dinner at the Yacht Club. My take is that the resort is hurting and trying to steer guests away from the Yacht Club and instead into their own restaurant, which is way overpriced and has horrible service.

Yelp
Overpriced and misrepresented Condos. Their websites says Waters Condo has lake views but they don't guarantee it. WiFi out for 1.5 days which meant no TV. Manager offered to compensate us but we never received compensation. Will never stay at this place again.

Yelp
Horseshoe Bay Resort was an absolutely magical place to hold our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception. The bay is truly an oasis, seemingly springing from the middle of nowhere, and has some of the most beautiful gardens, amazing food, and fantastic views in Texas. The Resort has incredible amenities and housing nearby available for rent that we were able to put close family in. Near the reception was a gorgeous boardwalk garden of ponds, lily pads, and waterfalls that made our photos enchanting. But what really made our weekend special was our coordinator on site, Sandra Chavez. We were pleasantly surprised to find a venue and staff so kind and welcoming to the LGBT community, and had a gorgeous wedding with two brides thanks to devoted staff. It can be kind of a coin toss in Texas as far as acceptance, so it was really nice to not have to be stressing about that element when planning our wedding. Chef Frank Rog is an absolute talent the resort is lucky to have. Being a mixed race wedding, we had several individuals of different faiths and dietary needs, including those with celiac disease, severe nut allergies, vegetarians, and vegans. As someone with dietary restrictions myself, I often feel that food I am often served is an afterthought or a conglomeration of sides without creativity. But Chef is an artist, and devised custom menus for our reception and rehearsal dinner to not only fit the needs of our guests, but astound them. If you want people to be talking incessantly about the food at your wedding, Chef is your man. I had family members getting up to get seconds. My younger brother, who is very quiet, inhaled his food (delighted since he usually has to be careful due to his tree nut allergy) and chef sent staff to quietly switch out his empty plate for a full one without even exchanging words with him, which he also inhaled - that meant the world to me. I am delighted and devastated to be served the best gluten free rolls I've ever had knowing I will never find anything like them again. Sandra is not only kind and open, she is intelligent and dutiful to her clients. She felt like my wedding planner on site that coordinated food, answered my numerous questions before and during the wedding, and even located our favorite wine (which was difficult to find) to send to our bridal suite on short notice while we were getting ready - picture two chickens with their heads cut off wearing wedding dresses. Sandra wears no mask - anyone could tell that she cares deeply about her clients, and does not feign being invested in every step of the process. Truly, she went above and beyond with everything we asked for. Without her, the wedding would never have happened like we envisioned. Highly recommend Horseshoe Bay Resort for your wedding, and ask for Sandra and Chef Frank Rog!

Yelp
The hotel was great and the amenities have been great. Friendly staff who is on point in the hospitality business. We will be back when we're in the area. Bob gave us day passes to the yacht club for our anniversary and was very friendly to my girlfriend and I. Can't wait to come back with friends and family!!!

Yelp
I had scheduled a massage and when I showed for the appointment, the specialist called in which meant I had to be rescheduled. They were kind and rescheduled with a complimentary facial for the next day. I had to rearrange some activities but made it work since I was looking forward to the massage. Flash forward to the next day, they forgot to actually schedule the massage (the one thing I wanted). They did provide the facial but were very dismissive of the fact the massage wasn't rescheduled. The manager stated she would meet me up front to get my number to provide the error to the director for reimbursement; however when I arrived she was no where to be found. If I had not shown up for the appointment then I still would have been charged for the service. I showed up 2 times both of which were neglected. They couldn't even bother with a courtesy call. Horrible management!

Yelp
Overpromise, underdeliver. Our reservation confirmed a townhouse. Imagine our surprise when we pulled up to a condo building...and discovered our unit was on the third floor ...walkup... for 4 adults and 4 kids. We are protesting the charges because this clearly is deceptive and to our astonishment, the management is trying to gaslight us by telling us that because there's an internal sleeping loft, this IS a townhouse...even though..it's...not a townhouse. Inside, the place is shabby. The finishes are worn. The appliances are exhausted. From the balcony we have a lovely view of a power plant. The resort claims 3 pools but one is reserved for yacht club members. the pools are not heated, so, unusable in the winter. We visited in December. So, a main draw for our 4 grandkids...wasn't available. The resort refused to reduce its resort fee. The kids' club ($50 per kid x 4 kids for 3 hours) was good. The spa is nice, good experience there. But overall, the deceptive description of this condo, and the resistance to making it right, make this a buyer beware destination. We won't be back and have already warned off friends.

Yelp
Service is seriously lacking! I don't care that's it off season. 1st we ask about a restaurant and they recommend a pizza restaurant within the resort and they don't mention that it's closed the next two days. Everything about dinner in J's was slow the last straw was we ordered apple pie 25 minutes later still no apple pie no hint from the waitress as to why we don't have it she never came out to even say it was going to be late. She did come running when I was walking out of the restaurant before signing my check! Terrible terrible overall experience.

Barbara E.

Yelp
Very disappointed. None of the amenities were available to us, including the shuttle. J's restaurant was not good and was very expensive. This was for our 10 year anniversary and we won't be back or recommend to friends, family or acquaintances. worst of all, parking is a nightmare. We do recommend Bayview restaurant though. It was delicious and our server was fabulous! Almost worth losing a place to park anywhere near our room

Yelp
This was my husband's and my first time to Horseshoe Bay Resort, but it certainly won't be our last. We went specifically to check out the Wine, Dine, and Jazz Festival. Festivities are on a Friday and Saturday, but we checked in on Thursday so we could fully enjoy the resort and the surrounding areas. This festival was well worth the trip. The food, wine and service were 5 stars. The chef demos and the direct interactions with celebrity guest chefs were a lot of fun - especially if you are a foodie like we are. Service at the hotel was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful. The resort is lovely. If you drive only 25 miles or so you end up at gorgeous sprawling state parks, wineries, caves (to explore), etc. We spent one full day exploring the area and the rest of our time was spent enjoying the festival and resort. Other attendees were friendly and chatty. We had a great time talking with other guests. This was a nice time of year to be at the resort if you want a "get away" that takes you away from kids for a bit. I have a feeling that this resort is (understandably) teaming with kids during the summer, but when school starts it's nice and quiet. Temperatures dipped down one day, but the sun was out, so we still made use of the hot tub. There is also one pool that is heated. We had a lake view room. The room was nice, clean, quiet, and had a comfy bed. We were able to keep the temperature controlled well in the room. Our view was nice. There was a frig in our room, but no microwave. There is also a small Keurig coffee pot with complimentary pods in the room. Next visit, we'll probably rent a villa with a full kitchen or kitchenette. I did miss the ability to heat food. The closet was large and spacious as was the shower. We'll definitely return.

Yelp
My friend had a girl's weekend at Horsehoe Bay to celebrate her 40th birthday. She had booked the rooms a few months in advance which was good because the room rates increased significantly after she booked. Getting to the resort was a little confusing because there's a huge sign off of 71 (I think) that looks like the main entrance, but it isn't. When I arrived, I was greeted by staff. They let me leave my car at the drop off area so I could unload. One of the greeters helped me with my bags. Parking is free (though I imagine it is covered in the resort fee). They have the option to valet (I believe it is $25 a night). I got lucky and found a spot in the parking lot directly across the street from the main tower (the walk was less than 5 minutes). We were advised to book amenities and activities at least a month out. I was able to get a spa reservation for 9 am on a Saturday. I was interested in doing a winery tour but it took two weeks for someone to get back to me so I decided to skip it. I was almost late to my spa appointment because I was waiting for the shuttle that never came so I ended up walking. I had the 50 minute Himalayan Salt Stone massage and it was really nice. They give you a locker, a robe, and sandals to wear around the spa. The waiting area was a bit awkward because everyone is sitting in their robes. I also hung out in the sauna for a few minutes but could not figure out how to turn on the lights. One of the women in my group had a massage scheduled, but the masseuse had an emergency and had to cancel. Another woman in the group got a mani/pedi and was pleased with it. Some of the ladies did the stand up paddle boarding at the marina and had a good time. We reserved a cabana at the Yacht Club which was nice because we had it all day. Our group had 12 people and it was big enough. My only complaint with the cabana is that they are kind of distant from the pool and lake. Our attendant was nice. We ordered food and the Caesar salad was so small that my friend had to ask for a second one. The margherita pizza was very good. The hot tub looks like a kiddie pool and there were many kids swimming in it which was very strange. I went to J's three times. On the first night we had drinks and the service was incredibly slow. The crowd was also loud and obnoxious so we sat outside near the pool. I tried a beer from Save the World brewery and it was good. The next evening, we had dinner and we were disappointed that it was buffet instead of full service. The food was good and they had many of the menu items available, but it was just unexpected. The last morning, we had the breakfast buffet and it was good but over priced. They serve Starbucks coffee in the market. I had a white chocolate mocha and it was good, but I got double charged. I didn't realize it until I was checking out, but they took the charge off of my invoice. Unfortunately many of us had issues with our invoices such as charges that weren't ours, to mixed up charges amongst ladies in the same room. I had to fill out a form with the accounting department to have a charge moved from my friend's card to my card. It is fixed now but it took a few days. The rooms were nice. I loved the double sinks and the oversized shower. The water pressure was amazing. Our TV remote didn't work well but we weren't in the room much so it was okay. Housekeeping is currently only every three days but we were fine using the same towels since it was just for the weekend. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. I found the room to be very nice. Horsehoe Bay is a nice property, but it is over priced in my opinion. It felt more like a really nice hotel rather than a resort.

Yelp
It's a good family getaway place, especially in winter. We had a biz event here in June and the temps were scorcher. It's quite a drive from the Austin airport though. They have a nice outdoor pool plus a soaking pool next to the gym. The prosperity is huge but the indoor gym is fairly small. I suspect you would rather swim or play tennis but if you like to run and are here in the summer, running outside is tough. The accommodation, conference halls, clubhouses, etc were fairly good and well maintained. One last thing, it's Austin and even though it's 2018, don't expect too many good vegetarian options.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! I was there over several days Friday to Monday for golf. The courses are excellent and challenging. They are in immaculate condition with scenery that is breathtaking. The service and the people were fantastic. The home owners in the neighborhoods are very nice. The Villa I resided in was nice, not a full kitchen just wet bar and fridge. There was not daily cleaning so be prepared for that. Overall great place, great stay and I will visit again.

Yelp
If your going to stay at this property and plan to use their amenities I would call ahead and make sure they are available. I stool the family there for a quick getaway and to use the amazing looking pools featured all over their website and booking site but upon arrival was told that all pools are under major renovation. Restaurants had extremely limited menus and the hotel staff was not very welcoming and friendly. A hotel that classifies them self as a resort with no amenities is not really a resort.

Yelp
My husband and I had a really great time at the HSB resort. We were supposed to fly to the Dominican for our anniversary but unfortunately the Austin Airport power outage put a damper on our plans. To makeup for our vacation we booked a few nights at this resort. The staff was wonderful upon arrival. Jimmy checked us in and was an absolute delight. Being our first stay and anniversary weekend he hooked us up with some complimentary drinks, complimentary breakfast, and wine and strawberries. Our room was clean and the bed was so soft. My only complaint (if you can even say it's a complaint) was that only 1 elevator at a time was working so it took a few extra minutes to get up and downstairs but it really wasn't that big a deal. We will definitely be returning for some more relaxing weekends!!

Yelp
Really disappointed the resort transportation took us to one of their resort restaurants (that ended up being off site) and dropped us off and it was closed. We were stuck there with our 2 hungry 5 year olds and had to call the hotel 3x to get a car back to get us. We wanted to eat early and because of that delay we're stuck waiting for a table at the 2 on-site restaurants which messed up our night plans. It's spring break and it's cold. So the only real restaurants to eat at if you're not at the pool are J's which we had the first night, and slick rock grill -- which we tried to go to at lunch and had an hour wait with only 2 ppl working the kitchen then tried for dinner and it was closed and we were stuck there waiting outside for transportation for 45 mins. If it's a resort property every single staff member should know their open/close schedule...especially drivers. *** Jason at Whitewater 360 took the initiative and got the popcorn machine working and gave our girls popcorn and drinks while we waited all without asking and on the house -- now that's 5 star service ! Thank you Jason

Yelp
We visited this place about a year ago and had a far better experience than we did recently. So I'm here writing an update. Rung in 2022 at HB, hoping for another fantastic time. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cookies upon arrival in 2021. At that time, enjoyed all meals at J's Restaurant-breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No refreshments were given this time and was disappointed by J's meal options. The lunch and dinner menus were very similar. Salads, bar foods and sandwiches are fine for lunch, but not as a repeat for dinner (a slight variation was made). 2021 dinners were hearty and comfort-type foods. We loved the dinner last year at The Yacht Club, so much so, bragged about it, and made sure we made reservations again. For us, (good) food is LIFE, and was what brought us back again. Was never told in advance about the $120 5-course menu. This should have been advertised for consumers to make an informed decision to dine there or make arrangements elsewhere. The courses were tiny, boring with no flavor. We were starving about an hour later. Gratuity was automatically added to any sized party. We felt robbed! New Years buffet breakfast at J's was buffet style, not a wise choice with Covid/Omicron running rampant. The white young man at the omelet station's gloves were torn and needed changing. Protective face masks weren't enforced- didn't see disinfecting between guests, dividers, etc. There were limited activities available. Not sure why they would offer fitness classes early morning New Years Day as most people slept in...particularly since your facility had 2 parties for guests (one complimentary and the other $50 per person) that ended at 1 a.m. Not a good choice. Overall, not a good experience. Would not recommend.

Yelp
My husband and I spent this past weekend at Horseshoe Bay Resort for his birthday. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured. Upon check in, Jimmy answered our questions, showed us details of the map and gave us a coupon for two complimentary adult beverages (to celebrate). He was professional, informative and cheery. Our room was extremely cozy, immaculate and featured updated tasteful decor. The bed and pillows were a dream! I need to find the brand of pillows for sure! We also had a great view of the pool and greenery. The room was nice and quiet/soundproof. Shampoos and soaps were lovely too. We took advantage of a beautiful walk all around the hotel grounds and drove down to the Yacht Club to sit by the water. The place was very empty (off season) so I managed to take some nice photos. The hotel has a full spa, a mini golf course, numerous tennis courts, bike rentals, a kids club, activities on the main lawn (they had a fire pit with s'mores at night), golf and much much more. The food was good as well (especially the wings which came highly recommended). There was an extremely talented performer (guitar/vocal) at the bar on Saturday night. We listened for quite awhile as we enjoyed a few cocktails. He was so gifted with music! Overall, our stay was stellar! We cannot wait to return soon!!

Yelp
This is an older resort, built in 60s I would think. Great price though. Pet friendly. I rented one of the Villas for the same price as a hotel room in the tower. It was like my own personal apartment for the week. The staff were very slow at check in. I also wasn't made to feel acclimated to the resort, so I think I missed out on some things that I could have taken advantage of. Decent spot tho!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting this amazing resort the only regret I have is that we needed at least two nights because one night was not long enough to explore the entire resort. We still had a amazing time and will return soon.

Yelp
Recently visited Horseshoe Bay for a work conference and the room was beautiful and updated. The bar and pool area were excellent! Staff were friendly! Shuttle drivers and valet were amazing! The only thing that needed improvement was the food served throughout the conference... it was often cold and didn't have any seasoning. The wait staff were great though!!! Otherwise, great experience!

Yelp
I was so disappointed with this resort. Sure there are some nice views but that doesn't make up for the frustration they caused. I arrived a little after 3 to check-in. I was told my room was ready but due to computer issues they couldn't give me keys yet. A gentlemen checked in at the same time I did yet I SAW them hand him keys. Several others received keys after me as well. I waited over an hour only to watch the line get longer and more unorganized; some would get keys but some wouldn't. Finally around 4:30 I get my keys (past their posted check-in time). I would've expected something be offered for the inconvenience. Nope. Not the case. I was also annoyed they were not observing Covid social distancing state policies at the pool-- anywhere really. They claim to have a reservation system but when you get to the pool all they ask for is your room number. No actual list to get checked off from. The area would get crowded with several people choosing to not respect social distancing guidelines. The pools were littered with empty plastic cups. I saw a man fishing off the beach access area where KIDS WERE SWIMMING! None of the hotel staff bothered to ask him to stop. Extremely careless in my opinion. I noticed people smoking in the pool area as well. Oh and the drinks are watered down. For someone that hardly drinks to say that... you know they must be! They also have construction going on during what I would consider peak travel season. The majority of the restaurants are closed on Monday & Tuesday forcing you to drive off site or sit in one of the two crowded options available. I seriously don't understand how you can in good faith charge a resort fee when the majority of the amenities are closed!! Just save yourself the headache and find a different place to stay. Plenty of better options in the Lakeway/ Austin area.

Yelp
Another great trip to this resort. But wait, this time wasn't great...it was fantastic! Much of the resort has been updated and boy what a job. Our family has been visiting for spring break about 6-7 years and each time is just as memorable. We were fortunate to come on a slow week and way less people that years prior. The sun was out, drinks were great, food was on point. Just one mishap on the food, but it was quickly resolved. This place has a little something for EVERYONE in the family. Spa, Marina, yacht club, kids play areas, new sports bar, gorgeous putt-putt course, outdoor lawn for football, s'mores, golf course, and on, and on. We have stayed in all parts of the resort and recently discovered pets are allowed in the Palm Villas. There is a pet deposit, but it's reasonable. My only suggestion is for the resort to put up pet poo pick up stations along the approved walk areas. :) This place is a gem. Come out, love it, take care of it because yes, we love it that much!

Yelp
To say we had a poor first impression is an understatement.  Both my husband and I are business owners and put a large emphasis on customer service. We are also Marriott and Hilton platinum members. Therefore, we travel frequently and know quality service when we see it. In fact, we decided to stay at the resort given that I used to work at Baylor Scott & White Hospital and had many colleagues/patients who were members of the resort. We also attended several events through the hospital here.  When we initially decided to book with the resort I had spoken to a representative who had informed me the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom accommodations were available for this weekend. I informed her I would speak to the rest of the party, and get back to her before they close at 800pm. I called several times prior to 8 and nobody answered. I left a voicemail. I call numerous times after and no answer. 4 days later I was able to get a hold of someone and was informed that the unit was booked and they would compensate by giving us two 1 bedroom villas. I had asked if it had a full kitchen- and they indicated yes.  We arrived this afternoon and were greeted with a dirty small kitchenette. There are crumbs on the countertops and the microwave is filthy. One of the drawers is also falling off. I spoke to the director- Amir, and he apologized but said there was absolutely nothing he could do. He stated that he would listen to the call that was had when we booked to verify we were told there was a full kitchenette. I did also indicate our rooms were dirty- in which he stated he could have housekeeping come in and clean the kitchen. I did ask for a copy of the recording- as I know I mentioned the full kitchen and he indicated he would email me a copy. I have yet to receive the email.  The service is far below expectations. It is NOT ok to tell clients one thing and deliver another. It is NOt ok to check into a hotel expecting a sanitary and clean environment, only to be dissapointed. Especially during these times. I can tell you during the past 15 years my husband and I have traveled we have never received such poor service hand in hand with unsanitary rooms. I would go as far as to say Europe had better customer service than your employees did. Furthermore, we were excited to see some of our old friends/colleagues here and this just put a bad taste in our mouths. Attached you will find a couple photos of the room. I hope you take this as a learning experience as to how to properly train staff and management on handling dissatisfied customers. "Im sorry" does not cut it. It certainly doesnt in our businesses and I would expect it doesnt in yours neither.  I also just discovered the trash was not emptied prior to our arrival. See attached.  Show quoted text

Yelp
Not worth the money !! I booked our reservations May 6th. We have stayed here before and had access to all amenities including the yacht club pool/ lakeside beach. Apparently they changed the policy for the yacht club on Memorial Day, three weeks AFTER I booked our reservations. Now In addition to paying the exorbitant fees here, almost $3,000, they tell us we have to pay extra ($125 a day , family of 5 for 5 days) to access the yacht club. I would have NEVER booked here if I had known that... additionally the policy was changed AFTER I booked, so our reservations should be honored with the prior policy. the pool we do have access to is not any nicer than the one my HOA provides in my own neighborhood. This place is not worth the money and we will never stay here again. Spoke to management and they couldn't care less.

We had the most romantic 2-night getaway at this resort. It was an easy, scenic drive from Dallas and it was the perfect destination to enjoy some time alone without our kiddos. The service was exceptional -- from the dinner out on the patio to drinks at the hotel bar, and every other meal we ate on property, all were delicious and the wait staff were so accommodating! Shoutout to my massage therapist at the spa. I can't remember the gentleman's name, but he's the one who has experience with treating pro hockey team players. I told him about my sports injuries while training for marathons. His massage on my plantar fasciitis was incredible and so relieving! Plus, I'm a working mom with 3 little boys--he was able to relieve so much tension in my neck and upper back. I highly recommend a 50-min massage with him! Speaking of the spa, the front desk reservationist went above and beyond for my husband and I! Thank you to Stacey for accommodating us so expertly and so kindly! Her customer service skills in person and over the phone trumps any negative reviews this spa may have received about the quality of service. Who would ever say a negative thing about Spa? I can't even imagine! Lastly, we are forever grateful to the newly-hired front desk receptionist, Laquinta. Can't remember if that's the correct spelling of her name, but we became so chummy that she asked us to call we "Q!" Thanks to "Q," we were convinced to not only extend our hotel stay this trip, but we told her we also plan to bring the family back out to the property in July 2019! We are so excited to enjoy a Hill Country summer experience with our kids. And beyond summer of 2019, we are already making plans to book a huge family reunion/15 year wedding reception at the Yacht Club and Horseshoe Bay Resort November 2022!! To say we fell in love with this property would be a total understatement. Thanks to the hotel staff for accommodating us and making us feel so welcomed. Can't wait to come back!!
