Tokyo’s Hashida Sushi Will Open First US Outpost in SF’s Union Square - Eater SF

"San Francisco’s appetite for Asian-based expansions shows no sign of abating, with spots like BAKE, a Japanese cheese tart kiosk in Westfield Center, Ramen Nagi in Palo Alto, and the promise of a Michelin-starred ramen shop making waves. Now comes news that Singapore-based Japanese chef Kenjiro “Hatch” Hashida will open an expansion of Hashida Sushi in San Francisco’s Hotel Abri in August." - Ellen Fort

Staff makes this stay great! The hotel is clean, safe and comfortable. Bonus for the fluffy and luxurious pillows! We stayed in the Urban Suite and while it's not large, it was great for the 2 of us that like to spread out. Edwin at the front desk was amazing, professional and kind. The area had lots of restaurants near by, on top of being close to transportation. Valet service was a bonus and made it easy to store our car.

I'm so glad I opted for this hotel, it was clean, well located and quiet. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite, which was MUCH appreciated, and given a few treats for the room, such as a bottle of wine and some snacks. The room was clean and tidy and well equipped, we didn't have to ask for anything to be brought up. Our only downside was the desk staff (aside from Steve who was lovely, chatty and gave us a warm welcome). Other staff seemed disengaged, not rude, but not as welcoming as they could have been. Would stay here again without reservation.

Really great hotel. Location fantastic, the staff couldn't do enough for you. Anything that wasnt in the room or was needed they would sort straight away. The rooms were well appointed and good value. I'm actually quite shocked at the difference in experience and the reviews on here.

Very comfortable small hotel room, although with limited space, in a prime Union Square location. We had previously stayed there years earlier when it was known as the Monticello Inn. The staff was exceptionally attentive and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay of three nights and would return again. AAA+++ experience.

This is my second time staying here and I will be staying here every time I visit SF! Every single staff member is SO kind and helpful, especially Hector and Miguel. Every accommodation and request was met. It was 10/10 service. Another plus is it’s surrounded by shops, really good restaurants, and really close to accessible transportation. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you all for an amazing stay

Google
The hotel has a great location, right next to the cable car station and not far from Union Square. The staff are all very friendly. In the morning, there is free tea and coffee in the lobby, as well as a water dispenser. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and perfectly fine. Highly recommended! ⭐️🌁

Customer service and staff were excellent! The hotel is charming and offers lovely amenities with updated rooms. The location was superb surrounded by restaurants and easy access to transportation (cable car, BART system, and MUNI). The hotel was lovely and welcoming at the end of a long day of sightseeing. I would happily stay there again and recommend it to family and friends.

I loved the king room, which seemed like a small apartment. It was very cozy. My stay was for 6 nights; the bed was not comfortable for that extended period of time. I probably would not have noticed if my stay had been shorter. The cleaning staff was less than desirable: I asked that my room be cleaned on day 3 and the maid, hung my dirty towels back up that were on the floor, and did not change the sheets on my bed, which had dirt from my clothing. I was sitting in the lobby and the older guy that worked the front desk began to antagonize me: "Are you waiting for someone? Are you waiting for a ride? Why are you sitting here? Me: I have a room here. Do you want to see my license and look my room up? Him: No. You've been sitting there for a while. Me: No let me show you my license so you can look my room up because I don't want no mess. Him: No that's okay. But he didn't hesitate to take my license and look my room up either. Of course he wasn't my color. Everything else was great and the staff was friendly and helpful, including helping me super glue my glasses that I broke. :-) I would stay again because it is so close to the trolley, trans and bus line; it made it easy to commute and I save a lot of money not having to Lyft everywhere. Buy the $47 pass if you are going to be there any length of time.

Yelp
My husband and I were in town for a concert at the Masonic and were extremely satisfied with our stay. The gentleman who checked us in upgraded us to a suite and gave us a bottle of wine and snacks. We felt very special! We found the location to be very convenient with so many pubs and restaurants close by. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself was very clean too. The 24 hour valet parking service is also very convenient.

Yelp
Had a great stay here. Staff members were very responsive to our needs. Hotel and room very clean and safe. Parking with valet is $60/night with unlimited ins/outs. Many restaurants in the immediate area, easily within walking distance. This is an older hotel, but it's very modernized and the beds were particularly comfortable.

Yelp
I stayed here for one night and it was a pleasant experience. As for highlights, the hotel is close to the train station and close to a lot of places to eat. The service at the desk was very friendly and got me checked in quick. The room itself was ready and clean when I entered. While there are windows, my view was just of the building next door. The room came with a good number of towels and stocked well with toiletries. As for anything bad about Hotel Abri. The neighborhood can be a bit dangerous to walk around at night so just be forewarned. Lastly, you'll need a room key to get back into the building. Overall, great place to stay and excellent experience.

Yelp
Be careful when you pick-up your car with valet parking. Abri valet parking service park the car in white zone. - Drivers must retain with the vehicle at all time - Vehicle parked for more than five minutes are subject to citation and towing I was mentioned by concierge that pick-up takes 20min. So, I waited in the room with my family. When my car was ready to pick-up, I checked out and picked up my car. It was around 5-10min... I guess camera is watching. (I should have been waited in the white zoon.) Abri could be better if telling the things of potential parking violation to their guests for preventing $108.00 to SFMTA.

Yelp
Found a great deal directly off the website (flash sale) about a month in advance, and boy am I glad we went with this hotel. The environment was very welcoming, the place was clean and modern looking, a small seating area in the lobby with a fake fireplace, wine bottle display, and other quirky décor. There were no homeless people camping outside the entrance, and it looked pretty well-kept from outside as well. The staff was extremely friendly, upgraded us to a king size bed upon arrival, and explained where to find anything we might need, ie. which floor to get ice, etc. The room was on the smaller size, but not claustrophobic, it was bigger than just the bed, had a desk with a chair and an ottoman type piece of furniture, a mini fridge, side tables, fluffy pillows, comfy and clean bedding, decent sized flatscreen TV, closet and medium sized bathroom, simple but had what you would need, including room service if you want food from the hotel. The shower head was wide, and there were big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash inside the shower area. They also provided bar soap, in case you don't bring your own loofah. The room was overall clean and presentable, no complaints. The temperature control was basically a window AC (with both cooling and heating option), not the most updated unit, but it worked so that's all that really mattered to me, especially because it was an unusually hot winter day (just happened to be summer weather in the city in Febuary). I wouldn't park here, as it's super expensive (valet $65), but it's easy to find much cheaper parking within a 5-minute walk through Spothero reservations. I loved this place because the of the central location walking distance to a venue we were visiting during our stay, and of course, gotta love the 12noon checkout time (since I'm not a morning person)!

Yelp
Dog friendly (if your fur babies are 60 pounds or under). Weekend trip and this was the only furbaby friendly hotel in the area that also had add free parking (one car only) and other packages. We ended up with a suite that was perfect! The restroom was clean, king size bed was comfortable and the concierge/front desk staff was phenomenal. Our suite had a fridge but no microwave (which was fine). Car can either be valeted (we purchased that package where parking was free for 1 car) or there are some nearby garages you can pre pay via Park Whiz app. The pet fee is 75.00 per night. Check in was super easy. The hotel is located near muni, Bart etc so moving around is easy. If you forgot items there are lots of clothing stores and a Walgreens nearby. Tons of food options within walking distance or available via DoorDash. Only downside- reserving on their website there were glitches- dates resetting on the calendar function, having to reenter information or start the process over. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I'm so happy I found Hotel Abri! I was looking for a place closer to the Moscone Center with a bigger room / bed size and a bit comfier space and Abri was the perfect space. Hotel Abri is located near Union Square with a clear path to Market Street. Location-wise, it's in a wonderful prime spot near the hustle and bustle of downtown SF and for those attending events at the Moscone Center, it's a pretty easy 8-10 minute walk. Coming into the hotel, you'll notice a chic modern interior with large barnyard doors blocking off an office space to the nice sofas / lounge area. Once checked in, I was greeted with a bag and bottle of wine which was a nice surprise. Check-in was pretty smooth / not too difficult. I was located on the fifth floor. Elevators were pretty spacious and quick. And my room wasn't too far away from the elevator. Entering the room, I was super surprised how spacious it was. I got the king size room. The restroom needs another extra light above the shower as it's a little dark even with the light in it now, but everything was working just fine. The bed itself was super comfy and spacious. The closet is a little small on the far side of the room. But there was both a small dining table as well as a desk to work at and the WiFi was working just fine too. Getting in and out of the hotel at night/early morning requires you to use a keycard which helps with safety. And was pretty easy to do. Noting a few people might be not happy that there isn't a fitness room available (at least as of March 2022) and that the AC/Heater is relegated to the far side of the room near the entrance, so it may take a minute to heat up / cool down. The street it's on is also a little sketchy late at night so may want to just keep an eye out while you're out and about. Overall, it was a great find. Would definitely come back for future conferences.

Yelp
First night and got the room next to the elevator. If you book using Expedia this will likely be the case. Not sure where the pictures of the room came from but it looks nothing like my room. Furniture looks like it came from an old motel somewhere. No electrical outlets as the two on the desk lamp don't work. So I had to hunt down outlets and unplug some things. I would say this is the West Coast version or the Hotel Edison in NYC. Historic is the best thing so far I can say. Steve at the front desk and room service we very nice also. $4.00 for a small Vaas water is so CA. Tiny room it seems like and the bathroom is very cramped. No room for a vanity counter.

Yelp
This was a great find. Yes it is a older hotel but has lots of character, all the amenities needed and super friendly staff which is huge in my book. They were so welcoming on our check-in, unlike many places that 'robotically' just want Credit Card and ID for payment. We were greeted and given an overview of parking and hotel services. Coming back in the evening, again we were greeted and welcomed back. Rooms are spacious and CLEAN. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here. We got a great package deal that included Valet Parking, King Bed, full size sofa pull out (worked for 13 yr old grandson) and Bottle of Wine!! The location is really good and walking distance to Union Square, Nob Hill, and Cable stops, can't ask for more in a City that is slowly coming back!!

Yelp
We took BART into San Francisco, the hotel is very close to the Powell Station . So, it's super convenient. It's in a great location for shopping and restaurants The lobby is really nice with a plant wall . The staff was super friendly . We received a nice bag of snacks waters and a bottle of wine when we checked in . The room was nice and large with a Air conditioner:) The bed was super comfy . No daily maid service, but staff was very accommodating when items were needed . We will be back :)

Yelp
So dirty and musty, I kept sneezing my entire stay here. I don't recommend staying here. I did ask for a room change but the second room was also dirty and had stray hairs everywhere. When I asked the manager if the rooms were regularly cleaned he said no. My advice: stay somewhere where the rooms are cleaned.

Yelp
Thanks for small wonders in a big city! Not too far off the main hub of Union square. Upbeat, updated in an old historical building in San Francisco. The check in process was quick , accurate and friendly .The room , although small , was clean , the bed very comfortable and the room quiet. It was a nice surprise to have a coffee machine and accessories. Yes I'd recommend to a friend and come again !

Yelp
The Good- -Just a few minutes walk from Bart and Cable cars -Few blocks from car rentals -Comfy bed and pillows -Large sized shampoo conditioner and body wash in the shower -Front desk staff was friendly! -Front door to hotel is locked at all times. Which is good considering they aren't far from the sketchy part of town. -Good food all within a reasonable walking distance. The Bad- -Room did not match photos! Annoying but room was great as a sleeping spot as we were out most of the day. -Could not find the safe in my room. -This is not in Union Square area. They are blocks from that area. -Later in the evening the streets around can become a little unsavory. Didn't have any problems but also didn't walk slow or loiter anywhere. Overall I would stay again for the ease of access to transit and the price point we paid. But the website is a little misleading in what they show for the rooms.

Yelp
Not a luxury hotel at all! The 3 stars go to the staff, lobby and location. When you pull up, the location is wonderful and glass entry well appointed. The lobby is very nice roomy and pretty. The staff very friendly! They even hand you a bag of goodies and a bottle of wine. Ok COVID has happened and there will be no extras in your room nor will your room be refreshed unless you give them 24 hours notice after you have been there 48 hours... ya! Our first room was old and depressing, nothing like the pictures! We went down to the desk to see why this 'suite' did nit match any web pictures. We were moved to a 'better' room. Room number 2... apparently the room was renovated years ago and this was when the pictures were taken. The renovator did not have a level or if he did, did not use it. Everything appears old and very well used, desk, furniture. Ok, we will pretend we are in Europe in a medium priced room. What I'm not happy about was the bed was lumpy, the sheets had a tear at the foot, the towels had tears, the bath tub had extreme wear. The vent was FILTHY! See pictures! The rooms was generally clean but not great. No microwave, just a tiny fridge that is not cold. 1 little trash can in the bathroom. You get 2 paper cups. Would I stay here again? Nope. Was it adequate? Yes. Do I recommend? Nope

Yelp
At first glance, the entrance from the street is underwhelming. A doorway next to some industrial doors. Enter and see a welcoming lobby with a large fireplace with a roaring fire to warm up on a cold winter day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. 12 stars out of 10. Rooms are spacious compared to others I've stayed at in the area. Window A/C- Heating unit is a plus when most hotels in the area only have heat. Is this an older building, yes. This is evident when looking at the room decor & finishes. They've added outlets to the rooms. The bathroom had been remodeled with a spacious shower, new toilet, sink & fixtures. Plenty of room in here for a couple of people to get ready at same time. The bed was very comfortable with comfortable pillows that weren't rocks like many places have. Need an umbrella- front desk has you covered. Want food delivered? They'll call when it arrives. Location...3 min walk from Powell Street Bart/Muni station. Right around the corner on back side of block. Yet no noise from busy Market street as you front Ellis. There is a large Mall with high end stores. Surrounding mall is discount retailers. Plenty of restaurants for all appetites. Museums are across Market & next to mall. Union Square is other direction from hotel entrance but only about a block away as well. Want to sight see? No car needed. Muni can get you to Golden Gate Park, Alcatraz Ferry, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown. You name it. Download the Muni App for discounts. $5.00 unlimited day pass good on all but Cable cars. Want to ride Cable Cars $13 day pass vs $24 purchased thru Clipper. With Muni Pass- You Simply show to driver or person in booth. So to rides on a regular buss pays for it. 1/2 line train that runs along the Wharf is $3.00 each way. Muni app also has trip tool to put in destination & will tell you what you need to ride to get where you want. You can Ride Bart from Airport get off at Powell & walk 3-4 min to ck luggage if early so can begin exploring. Book direct from hotel website for best deals as many waive the urban resort fee of $40/ day that other sites charge. If riding Bart- Can purchase thru apple wallet or Google pay to use your phone for fares. Parking in the city is steep so even if you bring a car, paying to park at other locations throughout the city can be pricey. Same with Uber/ Lyft. Live like a local & ride public transpo

Yelp
Good location clean and secure. Room was small but the price was right for the area.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel with my partner for just one night. We were greeted by a very friendly front desk person who checked us in quickly and efficiently. To our surprise, he also handed us a bag full of snacks and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift which was a lovely gesture. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed and pillows. The air conditioning worked well. We noticed that there weren't many outlets near the bed, which would have been helpful for charging our phones overnight. Luckily, the ones on the desk were totally fine, so we didn't have any issues. Overall, our stay was pleasant and comfortable. We appreciated the kind and thoughtful staff who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in the future
google avatar

Yelp
Ever like a place so much you stayed an extra night? I had a great experience and you can to. Here is why: 1. LOCATION - steps away from the Powell station and I'm the heart of everything- even the homeless so make sure to be weary. 2. STAFF - they were extremely kind and accommodating. 3. CLEANLINESS - squeaky clean and nice comfy linens. 4. Good value for the money. Some things for improvement: Parking - valet in and out from 7am-11pm and I would not recommend anyone to park on the street. Small older rooms - it's the city so hey, if all you need to do is sleep... Rooms need microwaves.

Lyle M.

Yelp
Hotel is decent not nearly as good as what other reviews claim. Biggest thing is front desk the small man with a man bun is the most unfriendly hotel staff I have ever dealt with. Rude, angry and consistently awful for the 5 days I stayed here. Everyone I talked to that has stayed at the hotel says he is the worst, I thought he may have just been having a bad day but after a week of seeing him ever afternoon it is clear that is just his personality. I will not be staying here based off the lack of hospitality this single person provides

Yelp
Hotel is in such a great location (union square). Walking distance to all of the shopping, food, and entertainment. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. They were detailed from the time of check in with everything you need to know. The whole check in process was smooth and quick. Room is clean and the air works great. Room was small but all rooms in SF is small. It was perfect for 2. I highly recommend this hotel! I definitely would return for another stay! 2 thumbs up from this yelper! Tips: *WiFi offered. *Offers two bottles of Voss water. *Provides a bag of goodie aka welcome bag. *Provides discount w/the restaurant its connected to. *No charging area outlet near the bed. I had to charge at the desk.

Yelp
I stayed here two nights for my boyfriend's birthday. We drove all the way up from Santa Barbara and needed to have somewhere with affordable parking. Luckily I found a deal on Hotel Abri's website that waived our parking fee with a bonus bottle of wine. When you walk in, it has a nice warm ambience, and the front desk receptionists are very accommodating and personable. It was very easy to check-in. The valet parking was nice as well, just be prepared to call ahead for your car as it does take around 15-20 minutes to get it to the hotel. I did see the valet running to the garage so it must be a ways away. The rooms were just what you'd expect, nothing too fancy, although I did appreciate the iHome. The beds were comfortable and it was a good amount of space, I didn't feel cramped. I didn't care for the beige walls and My only complaint would be that the window happened to face towards a circle of other room's windows. The bathroom was as you'd expect as well. There was a hairdryer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in there. The water pressure in the shower was disappointing, but it wasn't too big of a deal. On the hotel website, there was the note that there were complimentary robes, but when I asked, they said they didn't have any. Nothing was a huge red flag or deal breaker, and I enjoyed my stay.

Yelp
Steve, at the front desk, was extraordinarily gracious in welcoming us. He made our experience so much better by his very warm welcome, & gifting us with a welcome bag. We had a great experience, thanks to Steve!

Yelp
Nice reasonably priced boutique hotel in Union Square. Great location just seconds to Market St. I got a suite with a living room separate from the bedroom for $173/night. It had a king size bed and a pull out couch. Could sleep up to 4 people comfortably. Upon check in, they gave me a nice gift bag with a bottle of wine, bag of chips and 2 bottled water. That was a nice touch. Needless to say I popped the wine asap. Tip: Book your room in the middle of the week. I noticed prices are much lower . I saw this same suite for $230 when I looked on the weekend. Tip #2. Buy your own water from outside. They charge you $5/ bottle in the rooms. Nice lobby with a fireplace, a couch and chairs chairs. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was quite spacious as well. Nice Italian restaurant attached to the lobby where you can sign the bill to your room. They have a good happy hour there. Only minor complaint was they didn't have a computer . Apparently their one computer was getting repaired. Would definitely stay there again. Happy Traveling!!

Kathy H.

Yelp
Nice place to stay for the business traveler. Very clean, modern, up dated hotel. Welcoming lobby with free gumballs. Nice smell to the place. We had a 2 room suite with a very nice bathroom.

Yelp
We've been here multiple times as it's our go-to hotel in SF. Close in proximity to the bars and Union Square. Always excellent service and the rooms are great. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Okay right off the Hotel is an older hotel, but it is renovated very nicely. The lobby is warm and inviting. Key card entrance to the front door is necessary. Valet parking was included in our deal and much appreciated. Because hello....San Francisco and parking can be pricy. This offer was the main reason that I booked at this hotel. Check in was very easy and they even made it one of our rooms available a little bit earlier, again appreciate the extra effort on customer services part. We also received a free bottle of wine which was also appreciated and was decent. The main reason you will choose to stay here it's because of the location just around the corner from the trolley turnaround spot as well as all the shopping you could ever dream up. Lots of good restaurants and bars near by. Be sure to to check out Johnny Foleys around the corner. Irish themed with great drinks and food. The price for this location as free as well. So yes the rooms are older, but it was clean, the beds felt amazing the pillows were awesome. The only thing that made me a little weird it out was my room was a joint room and the door was unlocked to the next room, although there was no one there if somebody would've checked in they could've walked right into my room. Just a suggestion to make sure those adjoining room doors are always locked.

Yelp
Best staff in SF, hands down! The hotel staff treated us like family from the moment we called to make our reservation to the time we checked out. With a family member receiving cancer treatment at UCSF, our family was stressed and had unusual needs, but they not only went above and beyond to fulfill our needs, but also checked in whenever they saw us in the lobby to see how treatment was going. For instance, my Dad was feeling unwell after some treatment and asked if he could check in early, to which they were very accommodating. They also allowed us to park our car out front since their valet services are typically from 7am-11pm but we needed our car at 5:30am to get to surgery. The list goes on and on. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
google avatar

Sandra E.

Yelp
This place is really inexpensive but you can clearly see that it needs updating. I am a girl I need two mirrors or no no let me rephrase that I need one mirror away from the bathroom so when my partner goes to stink it up I can get ready in the other room and have a mirror. The people are nice that work there but it's just really cozy for my liking. Also don't get a room that faces the weird windows of death! The best part about this place is that it is so close to the metro/subway and in the heart of the city!

Yelp
I stayed at Hotel Abri for a few nights while staying in San Francisco. Upon checking in, I was presented with a gift bag that included red wine, small bottles of water, and some snacks. The front desk was very friendly and asked if I was looking for a room with any particular features, I specified that I'd like a quiet room. I ended up being placed far from the elevator, which was nice. The view was to the interior, which wasn't particularly pretty, but that's okay because I didn't spend a lot of time in the room. The room was pretty small, but that wasn't a big deal. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed cuddling the body pillow at night. Breakfast bags are available in the morning up until 8am. I ended up waking up just go get a breakfast bag and then going back up to continue sleeping. Another perk of the hotel is that if you don't need your room cleaned, they'll give you a voucher for a $5 Starbucks gift card or $10 off food at the adjacent restaurant. The hotel is centrally located near Powell St, which made it a great jumping point to explore the city.

Yelp
Stayed here on my first trip to San Francisco. Location is amazing everything is in walking distance, food shopping and more . Hotel staff is amazing .. very attentive and friendly .. even give you a welcome bag with goodies and a bottle of wine (see pictures) The room was bigger then I expected so I was thrilled . Decor is a bit dated but it's an older hotel and CLEAN so it's fine ! The only thing I didn't like was the smell of my room .. it was like musky .. I can't explain it . Not super bad I just got small candles for my stay (only reason I didn't give 5 stars) . I would stay here again and I would definitely recommended it to anyone staying in Union Square area .

Yelp
My husband and I snagged a really good deal a few weeks out from a recent trip, and we were surprised and delighted by this boutique hotel. It started really with check-in, which was smooth and quick. We were also given a welcome bag, like you get if you're attending an organized event at a hotel. It included a decent rosé and some snacks. Really thoughtful touch. Our room was very comfy and pretty well sized for SF. The black out curtains were effective, and there were only vague street sounds from the 4th floor. I'd definitely consider staying at Abri again if I was looking for a hotel in the area.

Yelp
I stayed here for a work trip, the location is central to Market Street/Union Square. The pictures are inaccurate, it had a weird smell (think musty library), and the $40/day resort fee is unnecessary as there are no amenities. Pricing at $350/night is not worth it - I recommend staying at the W in SOMA instead for the location and price point.

Yelp
Hotel Abri is centrally located at the edge of the Union Square area. If you walk in one direction, you'll hit the shopping area. It's like the 34th St/5th Ave of Manhattan. But if you head a bit further in the other direction, the area starts to get a little bit shady. There was actually a drunk (?) homeless (?) man a few doors down from our hotel with his pants down doing God knows what. But other than that, the area seems pretty okay. Just keep an eye open. As for the rooms, they're pretty tiny. I think the bathrooms have been redone, since they do look a tad newer. However, there's not much space in there, least of all in the shower. The shower head is really low. I'm about 5"5, and my head was almost touching the shower head. Some included perks include coffee in the morning, a welcome tote (containing a few snacks, two bottles of water, and a cheap bottle of wine), and a continental breakfast bag (that you have to ask for), which contains juice, a pastry, an apple, and trail mix). While Hotel Abri wasn't overly expensive (just under $200/night) considering its location, if you're willing to travel a bit further, I'm sure you could find a decent hotel or airbnb for cheaper.

Yelp
I liked Hotel Abri because of the location. It's super close to shopping, restaurants and public transport if you want to explore the city. The rooms themselves are comfy and they offer enough blackout shades so that your neighbors in the next building over can't look in. Plus, if you're in town for work, they have space in your room to plug in and the wifi isn't too bad so you can actually be semi-productive if you have to be. So for the cons. I was super stoked that they upgraded my room and gave me a welcome bag... I was super sad that the housekeeping staff swiped it when they cleaned it the next morning. Why? I dunno. I notified the front desk upon check-out and they were going to give me another one, but that wasn't the point... the point is that it shouldn't have been taken out of the room in the first place. Second problem. They took my credit card at check-in and told me they had to authorize for $100 per day - no biggie, it's pretty standard nowadays when you're staying at a hotel. On night two, I was coming back late after dinner and went to the room, only be locked out. I went back to the front desk and there was a line. After 10-minutes, someone was able to help me and then notified me that they hadn't authorized enough, so they disabled my key so I'd have to come back down to fix it. Not cool... I really liked the Aubri at the beginning, but then there was mishap after mishap. I made sure to report the incidents as they happened, but nobody really took ownership of any of the problems.

Yelp
The service was outstanding, we got late night snacks and the front desk was so polite opening the snack case and we felt very at home away from home. This cozy gem has THE BEST location and they provide safe, efficient housekeeping. 10/10 would stay here again

Yelp
Excellent! What I love about this hotel: 1. The staff. Friendly, outgoing and welcoming 2. The location 3. The rooms. Great rooms for San Francisco. Normally rooms in the heart of the City are on the small size. Here they are sizable. The suite includes a living room, and bedroom. If your traveling consider this hotel. You will be impressed.

Yelp
First time in San Francisco and I came to this hotel. Was excited based on the great reviews and location but was met by Maryani, the EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional night supervisor. There are 3 of us and we were charged extra for an extra person and received a "Queen" sized (definitely a full size to be honest) room and they don't have cots or any other things to fix this issue. So we're paying extra to sleep on the floor? She was condescending, unwelcoming, and unpleasant in general. I asked to cancel just from that interaction but it was too late. We requested pillows and blankets and she said she would put in a request and muchhhh later we only received one blanket. Came to our room and it was a street view. You can hear every. single. interaction outside. The club across the street was extremely loud and we couldn't sleep til 3 AM. When we got in bed there was weird gray fuzz on the sheets. Today we asked to switch rooms but apparently this must be done by 10 am (even though she told us yesterday it was completely booked) so here we are again. Every single time we leave and come back, our keys deactivate. I cannot wait to check out tomorrow. Worst "hotel" experience. Will NEVER stay here again nor recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite hotel in San Francisco Union Square area. Great value for money for the location. Breakfast not included though there are lots diners, restaurants and cafés in the area. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We had a bad encounter with the night staff, Nabih. Yes, I will call his name out so people can be aware!!! He was super rude to us and threatened to kick us out. We told him to go ahead, but he was all bark and no action. He probably woke up on the wrong side of the bed and took it out on us because we came back early morning. Just saying it's none of his business what time we got back to the hotel!!! It was extremely unprofessional the way he handled himself. His behavior was unnecessary and he made himself looked like a jerk with dumb comments that cane out of his mouth. If he is still working there, the hotel should not be in business because they obviously don't know how to run a successful hotel and threat their customers! Rest of the experience was fine.

Yelp
Shoutout to Jimmy for hooking us up with a great deal for our 5 night stay in SF. The hotel is in a very central location right next to the muni/Bart Powell station and made commuting around the city a breeze but be aware that it is kind of near the border of the tenderloin district but that didn't really impact our stay here. Be aware of the 40 dollar resort fee though but that might be waived by the staff if you ask ahead and they might waive the fee. Overall, would stay here given its convenient locale and great price.

Yelp
I woke up this morning having bloodstain in front of my face on the blanket. I checked the blanket then and found two more bloodstains, some hair, and a black stain in which I cannot recognize what the hell it is. It feels absolutely gross having slept on that for a whole night. What disgusted me more was the lady at the front desk. She first tried to dispatch me without anything. When I showed her pictures of those gross things, she called in the housekeeper to deal with it, who said it was likely someone did not change the blanket while cleaning the room, and left. We asked to see the manager repeatedly because the lady at front was obviously not capable of handling this, yet the manager never appeared. Hours later I received an email saying they would take off parking and urban fee. That's it. Throughout this whole time not a single apology was made. The passive and arrogant attitude of the lady at front was intolerable. If you plan on staying here, don't forget to check your blanket!

Yelp
Location location location. I can't stress enough about how amazing the location is. Literally next to everything!!!! Nordstrom and the biggest Sephora is a two minute walk away. The rodeo dr of SF is 3 min walk. Amazing! Walgreens and bomb thai food just 3 mins away. Enterprise is 1 minute walk. Bomb! Howeverrrrrrrrr, the hotel itself isn't anything fancy... yes, the floor makes noises when you walk around in your room lol. The hotel def limits how much water you can use. Oh and when you check in, they give you a goody bag!! Bottle Of wine and some snacks. Make sure to walk to Walgreens to buy water. The hotel charges $4 per a bottle. Efffff. And hotel valet is $70 a day........ try to return your car same day to Enterprise. The one by the hotel closes at 10pm, not bad. From abri to Napa Valley is about a 50 minute drive. Will def stay here again because of the amazing price and location. Btw, they serve coffee and tea every morning!

Yelp
Wonderful stay at this property. Front desk was more than accommodating and super friendly. We got in around 8:30 am and hotel offered to watch our bags as we adventured the city. We got to check in at 12, and even got upgraded to a larger room. Will absolutely recommend this place to family and friends. Thanks Hotel Abri for a great stay, and the amazing hospitality!

Yelp
Avoid this place at all cost! They are rude, the rooms are dirty and musty, and it's way overpriced for what you're paying for. I've attached photos of the vents in the air conditioner which has never been cleaned. This place is awe full!

Yelp
I'm very in between a 3 or 4 star review, for starters I would definitely stay here again although the walls are pretty thin as I did read in other reviews, I've never been to a hotel with that problem before. The price was good for the location which you cannot beat. They give you a welcome bag that was super nice which is probably to apologize for what they are lacking LOL . Parking is $70 per day which is pretty normal for sf . The room is VERY small I was shocked I've never stayed in a room so tiny, yes the pictures looked normal but two people can barley fit it. Just be prepared. Like I stated I would stay again because of the location but next time I won't be so surprised

Yelp
Comfy beds to rest our heads. Soft clean sheets and a clean shower. The room itself was pretty small, it's definitely only a 2 person room but it worked great for me. Complementary wine cane with the room, haven't tried it yet but I'm excited to! Overall was a great stay in a great location. Park in a garage near by the hotel instead!

Yelp
After an impromptu trip to San Francisco, I used my favorite vacation app - hotel tonight - and found this gem of a hotel right off the freeway, in the heart of union square. It was literally the perfect location to stay and so easily accessible from the freeways! I appreciated that! No self-parking and valet is $60 a night which is a bit pricey, but beats sitting and waiting in traffic trying to find a cheaper parking garage in the city. So convenience wins in that respect! The hotel staff were so friendly and kind, and very easily accessible. They even delivered complimentary bags of goodies to my room along with a bottle of red wine. Nice!! The room was quite small, but it is San Francisco which isn't typically known for its spacious hotel rooms. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Great hotel and good price!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay here with friends the weekend of the San Francisco marathon. I'd recommend people to stay here if they want to be able to walk to Union Square, Chinatown or Nob Hill. The Abri is so close to the Powell St BART station, as well. Plenty of options... The cable car route is steps away from the hotel. I read other Yelper's reviews and asked for an "inside" room so as not to face the street and risk any noise from the club across the street at night. We were put on the 4th floor. Room 411, to be exact. My friends were running in the marathon and I wanted a quiet night's sleep for everybody. And it certainly was... Thank you to the Yelpers and their advice. First impression. The lobby was NICE.... Shades of brown and orange on a modern but not trying too hard tip. This is a nice boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my questions.... Even hailing me a cab so I can get to Golden Gate Park to see my friends finish their race. I found it super cool that the entire front desk staff/doorman wore black Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers... The front desk also had drinks as a refreshment available to their guests on their way out or heading in... Thought that was a nice touch. The elevators and lobby certainly did have an aroma of fresh baked bread from Subway or waffle cones from Cold Stone which were located right outside the lobby doors... If you've ever stayed in a small hotel in the city you know the elevators are small. No different here. 6 people max. Smelled like bread baking in there, too... Could be a lot worse. I'll take the bakery smell any day. The room we had was nice. 2 full sized beds. I was pleased with it. Modern touch with the paint and head board. The beds were so damn comfortable I found it hard to get up in the morning. I haven't slept that good in months... Amazing. Flat screen was good. Good sized desk and small refrigerator for drinks were a plus. Enough hangers were provided in the closet. Another plus. The bathroom was small but decent. The shower head they had in the stand-up shower, I was really happy with... I need one of those in my life. We used the hotel valet for parking our car. $35 plus tax per night and we totally thought it was worth it. Ins and outs included. We called down 10 mins ahead of when we needed it and they'd bring the car up. I read that other people had issues with wait time but we certainly did not. I highly recommend the Hotel Abri for your stay in the city... I'd definitely stay there again. Damn, those beds are super COMF!!!

Yelp
Nice rooms and staff. I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to San Francisco.

Yelp
There are several things to be aware of with this hotel. Pros: Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean. Good location. Cons: Rooms are very small and poorly laid out. Ours seemed like a little rat maze. The walls, ceilings and windows are paper thin. The street noise is unbearable. We could hear complete conversations from people on the sidewalk and throughout the night continual honking, revving of engines, banging which ruled out any possibility of sleep.
