Hotel Arpoador has absolutely nailed the concept of low key luxury with the stunning mid century modern vibes, gorgeous restaurant and being in the best possible location in Rio (truly the only beach front hotel!). I stayed only in large rooms and found these to be more than comfortable. The views were nothing short of amazing. The service of the staff is beyond compare where (we westerners) can find the people to be culturally a little (for want of a better expression) rude (even if I think that mostly cultural misunderstanding). The hotel breakfast is out of this world. Two courses plus drinks included and the food is TOP notch. The Arp pancake was incredible, as were the mushrooms.

We had an amazing stay here. Good food, relaxed vibe (terrace right next to the beach) and the room was very nice. The rooftop pool is also a great getaway if you want to skip the beach now and then. But all these facilities weren’t that nice without the staff of this hotel. Truly amazing people who were very helpful and kind. We had nice conversations too. Special thanks to Paulo, Samuel and Marcus! You guys rock!

Fabulous location right on the beachfront. We had a large beach view room which was very clean and comfortable. The hotel has a beach service, providing chairs, parasols and towels, which we took advantage of and which was really useful. The restaurant is superbly situated for drinks and evening meals as well as breakfast. The breakfasts were amazing, with a huge choice and nicely served. The evening menu was really nice and the food was of a high standard. All the staff were friendly and very helpful, although not all spoke English, but wasn’t a problem. The plunge pool on the top was nice for cooling off with a beer after a hot day exploring. Easy walking distance to both Ipanema and Copacabana beaches.

The location of this property between Ipanema and Copacabana is excellent. And it’s safe and convenient to beach, restaurants and shopping. Gorgeous views from room and rooftop pool and dining area. Outstanding service - especially front desk and bell staff. Paolo was amazingly attentive and always remembered our name. Delicious food - breakfast, lunch and dinner. A must-stay when in Rio.

Great location, amazing breakfast, really nice people and great service. The only hotel right on front of the beach. Just check the size of the room - as the small rooms are small but overall experience was great! The staff all spoke English and were willing to help with all questions. Free bikes for you to use around Rio too much was a plus and beach service.

A lovely hotel directly on the beach with a modest but nicely decorated room overlooking the sea. Very good food. The staff were absolutely marvellous and a credit to the hotel. Our particular thanks to Markus who couldn't have been more kind and helpful when we endured a family crisis. Highly recommended

We stayed here on our honeymoon and could not have asked for a better experience. The hotel is basically on the beach, the rooms and facilities are very nice, and the staff is superb. We actually debated between the Fasano and this hotel and actually thought this hotel was much closer to the beach and were thrilled we chose this one! The rooms are a little bigger than we expected and if you get an ocean view room your view is amazing. The included breakfast is a real breakfast and top notch. The pool is small but does the job and has a great view. There is also a sauna which is nice. Every individual staff member was amazing. I have to specifically call out Paulo as he went above and beyond to make our stay excellent! 10/10 and would stay here again.

The front desk staff is outstanding - consistently helpful, friendly, and efficient. Because it's a smaller hotel, each guest is given real attention. The hotel is directly above Ipanema Beach instead of across a wide boulevard, so you can eat your delicious breakfast in the outdoor hotel restaurant while gazing at the waves. The second elevator was not working but everything else was fine. They have beach chairs and bicycles for guests to borrow. Highly recommend!
