Rabot Hotel | Condé Nast Traveler

"Fourteen sleek cottages on a 140-acre cacao farm that’s been harvesting cacao since the 1700s. The estate is owned by Hotel Chocolat, the U.K. Chocolatier, and the buildings’ dark-wood floors and whitewashed walls are reminiscent of the brand’s elegant stores. Instead of colorful Caribbean kitsch there’s an understated luxury with a hint of sex appeal."

Rabot Hotel From Hotel Chocolat (Soufriere, St. Lucia) 7 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Anyone who’s so much as seen a picture of the Pitons knows that St. Lucia is an island that doesn’t need much selling. All the same, Hotel Chocolat is something special, even by local standards. The name isn’t some kind of metaphor, first of all; this estate, a short way inland from Soufriere, was bought some years back by a pair of British entrepreneurs intent on reviving St. Lucia’s moribund cacao business. Rabot Estate Chocolate, for its part, is now a thriving concern, with a shop in London’s Borough Market." - Tablet Hotels

The property is beautiful from the rooms, restaurant, and view. We unfortunately did not make it n time to do the chocolate tour, but we heard some great things about doing it. I give the room a 10/10 HOWEVER, we got tore up from the mosquitos. Even with the net around it the bed, spraying the net, our bodies, and using the insect balls…nothing worked! We didn’t get any sleep due to the bugs. We ate dinner across the street at Ladero, the view was amazing…service was great, food 6/10. To be honest, we ate at a restaurant off property across from Bean to Bar experience. It’s a little aqua house, that food was fabulous! The staff were super sweet and accommodating. Overall 7/10. Unfortunately, we won’t visit this hotel again due to the bugs. We were fighting for our lives, literally!

We only went to the restaurant. Food was actually pretty decent (though hilariously overpriced for what it was) but the scene is very aesthetic with good views. The kicker is we went for someone's birthday and the staff told me 'keep everyone here for a moment, the pastry chef's making a mousse' and we thought, fantastic (post having paid the bill). We thought, great, free dessert! And then 20 mins later they ran down the road and asked us to pay $20 for a cake we didn't order. Not planning on visiting again, not even happy we went tbh. You all have my permission to give this a miss, but honestly, wasn't bad food. If you are going to go, get there at least 15 mins earlier as there's so many security sections to get through and it is not clear where the hotel is AT ALL. (It's immediately on the left as you drive in where Google maps says.) There's my 2 cents. Pictured: banana bread and sweet potato hash with poached egg.

I stayed at Rabot Hotel in Saint Lucia for two days in October as part of my birthday trip, and overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. I love chocolate so I was really excited and they had a store in New York City but didn’t survive COVID unfortunately. The entire concept of the hotel everything centered around chocolate is both creative and luxurious. The interior design throughout the property is stunning, with a modern yet natural aesthetic that perfectly complements its surroundings. I also loved the villa layout and architecture; everything felt thoughtfully designed and inviting. From our villa, as well as from the restaurant and pool area, we had breathtaking views of the Pitons. The hotel even upgraded us from the Simple Lodge we booked to a Luxe Lodge, which was such a kind and appreciated gesture. That upgrade really set a positive tone for our stay. During our time at the hotel, we tried several of their signature experiences, including the spa, chocolate-making class, and cocktail-making class. Each one was unique and added something special to the trip. The spa experience was exceptional truly one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The masseuse was skilled and attentive, and I remember wishing I could start every day like that. The chocolate-making class was also fun and informative. Although we didn’t do the full “Tree to Bar” cacao farm tour (which I somewhat regret skipping), the class itself was educational and hands-on. The full tour is complimentary, but if you pair it with the chocolate-making experience, it’s around $32, which I found to be very reasonable. We also participated in the cocktail-making class, which was another highlight. The drink menu at the hotel is extensive, and being able to experiment with different chocolate-infused cocktails was a fun twist. When it came to dining, I would rate the food an 8 out of 10. The presentation was lovely, and I especially enjoyed the scallops and the variety of desserts each had a rich, indulgent flavor. The only downside was that service was a bit slower than I prefer, but the staff were friendly and accommodating, so I didn’t feel the need to complain. The room, however, is where my experience became a bit more complicated. The hotel’s open-air concept is visually beautiful and creates a strong connection to nature but it’s definitely not for everyone. I knew beforehand that the rooms didn’t have air conditioning, which wasn’t a problem since the island breeze kept it fairly comfortable. However, the open-air design also means that you’re sharing your space with the local wildlife. Unfortunately, the bugs were overwhelming for me. My entire left leg was covered in bites, and one night we found a very large cricket (that looked almost like a roach) in our bed. We also encountered a moth in the shower that was unusually large easily the size of my hand. I understand that this is part of the natural environment in Saint Lucia, and I tried to stay calm about it, but coming from New York City where insects are not such a constant presence it definitely made me uneasy. To their credit, the hotel staff were amazing. They handled the situation with kindness and professionalism, offering to assist however they could and even compensating us for some of our incidentals. Their warmth and hospitality truly stood out, and that made it difficult to stay upset for long. In summary, I would say that Rabot Hotel is a stunning, one-of-a-kind property with excellent service, wonderful experiences, and breathtaking views. I would happily return for a day trip or even an overnight stay to enjoy the spa, restaurant, and activities again. However, for a longer visit, I personally might reconsider the open-air concept due to the insect issue. I traveled to Africa and Asia all over the world but Rabot hotel is easily in my top 3 hotels I’ve stayed at! If you appreciate nature, love chocolate, and want a serene, eco-luxury experience, Rabot Hotel is a fantastic choice just be prepared for a truly immersive encounter with the tropics.

We just had the best girls weekend ever!! This place is the epitome of relaxation and beauty. The food was amazing (I highly recommend the grilled tomato’s and homemade English muffins and the banana bread!) … most friendly staff and just complete serenity.

Absolutely beautiful resort, food is unique and delicious, with every dish infused with cocoa in some scrumptious way. Really enjoyed the staff! The staff was the best part of the visit, very warm friendly and helpful in every way. Every single person we met greeted us with kindness. Pricing is a bit steep, however it’s easy to find their pricing for everything online so if you choose to visit you are aware of that. Only complaint would be the mosquitoes, however, the staff do their best with zappers, repellent regular fogging and etc

We liked this place the last time we were here (2019), and so we returned. Just as good, if not better. The facilities are fine, the de luxe rooms are well-appointed; the food is good and the and the staff exemplary. Just remember it's built on the side of a steep hill so steps are to be negotiated from the restaurant to most the rooms!

Lovely rooms, people, food and drinks, certainly a unique place! Like many places in st lucia, its near the main road where traffic blasting loud music can occasionaly rattle the tranquility, caveat that i was there on a friday.
