The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Switzerland

"A clockwork-themed design hotel could go so very, very wrong, but in the hands of the Bjarke Ingles Group, the Hôtel des Horlogers transcends its inspiration. The setting, in the stunning Vallée de Joux, certainly helps, and the architecture, though inspired by watchmaking, avoids literal depictions. The rooms are handsome and light-filled, the views far-ranging, and the whole operation is as green as you expect a 21st-century luxury boutique hotel to be." - Le Guide MICHELIN

We visited last year in the snow so wanted to experience the property and the surroundings in sunnier weather.|We were so lucky the sun was shining and although cold we were able to enjoy walking in the surrounding forests and we were amazed by the fresh air and solitude. |The hotel was as good as our previous stay, luxurious and beautiful contemporary rooms with gorgeous beds and lovely bathrooms. |The views are spectacular and we spent hours sitting in our room looking at the view from the window. The village and surrounding area is quiet and tranquil and as that is what we wanted it was perfect. We enjoyed two dinners and two breakfasts in the hotel and all were of good quality with friendly service. We Arte already planning another visit next year!

You will never come across a more hospitable hotel. Hôtel des Horlogers is a dream, an experience truly worth traveling for. From the larger than life hospitality and the warm, heavenly bed to the heartwarming chefs serving up the most nutritious and healthy organic meals, every detail makes you feel at home. The combination of architecture and nature is what true luxury is about. Seriously, it’s that good. Don’t miss out on the chance to experience true hospitality, infused with luxury and genuine human connection. Can’t wait to go again, Reece

Everything was incredible. Every inch of the hotel and the location was achingly beautiful especially when it snowed. Staff were exceptional, accommodating and super helpful. This was the best hotel experience for my wife and and I, and we can’t wait to return!

Best hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. The rooms are very high tech and amazing. Just wow. The view is absolutely astonishing and there are gifts in the rooms. Staff are very friendly and are very patient. This is the one hotel in my whole trip that they helped us take our luggages to our rooms. Calls are picked up quickly. Lobby is very nice and there are lots of cool designs. I’m pretty sure this is an architectural hotel. Very cool. The atmosphere is great and very lively. I literally called the reception to get tissues and they got it for me in less than a minute. When I accidentally left my keycards in the room, they kindly got another one for me. This is definitely better than 5 stars.

First class experiencie. Sleeping with the curtains open, waking up with the sunrise and having the view of the mountains along with the snow, is priceless. And not to mention the quality of the robes, bed, sheet and pillows. Exquisite! The cleanliness of the hotel in general and room, impeccable. Good job housekeeping team. Delicious food and beautiful architecture. Very good taste in every way. Training in the gym and then entering the sauna with the same view of the mountains, is a luxury. Special mention to Sebastian and Artem of reception. Very kind , helpfull and professional.

The interior design, location, views, concept and architecture were beyond expectations. Absolutely loved it! I really recommended this hotel 👏🏼👏🏼 · Beautiful hotel. We were planning to stay 4 days then I extended 5 night more, I stayed in the executive suite. The room was well decorated with minimalistic modern style. The suite was quite spacious as it has a separate living area with a rotatable flat screen TV. Everything from the climate to the lighting were controlled via centralize computer screen when you walked in. Awesome! I loved it. I would like to add special thanks to GM Andre and all of the staff from the front desk and the restaurant specially Sebastian, shaun, Gabrella, and ILO. They made us feel welcomed and provide us with everything we need. I would definitely be back for the third time.

This hotel had been on our bucket list since it's opening and as the prices in summer are considerably lower than during the rest of the year, we decided spontaneously to spend the a few hiking days n the Jura. We loved the modern, very unique architecture of the building and the design inside the hotel. The rooms are spacious with a beautiful view; the beds comfortable, the bathroom top. We ate in the Brasserie on our first evening - again, it's a beautiful room with extraordinary design details. It felt a bit crowded, though, as it was a busy night (the tables are too close to each other). The food was nice, but...|Well, now I must address the disappointing part of our stay: the service of the restaurant staff was not professional enough for a 4-star-hotel. I'm not sure if those friendly young people were students of a hotel school (in which case I'd be more understanding) or if they just didn't get the proper training to work in gastronomy. Guest are kept waiting, orders are forgotten, wine is not poured, etc. etc. I wonder if it would be the same experience had we eaten at the "Table des Horlogers", the minchelin-starred restaurant that wasn't open during our stay. We chose to get a drink and eat a bite at the outdoor space of the bar, which unfortunately was truly neglected and dirty. Generally, we missed a place to sit outside and get a coffee or just read a book on a sunny summer afternoon. |One last remark: has anybody of the management ever looked at the translation of the menu? In your room you'll find tablets with all the information about the hotel, the spa and the restaurants - you can choose your language (French, English, German and Italian). In all honesty, even a high school student could do better in translating the most basic food vocabulary! Sure, it was done by AI, but somebody should really take the time to go over it and correct it. Just one simple example (there are many more): "main course" in French = plat; in English = flat; in German = Wohnung; in Italian = piano. Ridiculous, isn't it?!|In conclusion I would recommend this hotel for 1-2 nights in winter time, maybe when you want to visit the Audemars Piguet museum next door.

An unforgettable stay at Hôtel des Horlogers! Our stay at Hôtel des Horlogers was nothing short of extraordinary. The seamless blend of modern design and the watchmaking heritage of Vallée de Joux creates a truly unique atmosphere. Our room was not only stylishly furnished but also offered breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The attention to detail and high level of comfort left nothing to be desired. The culinary experience was exceptional. Both the Brasserie Le Gogant and the Table des Horlogers delighted us with exquisite, regionally inspired dishes. The service was always attentive and warm. One of the highlights was the direct access to numerous hiking and biking trails, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the beauty of Vallée de Joux. After an active day, the Spa by Alpeor provided the perfect relaxation. As watch enthusiasts, the proximity to the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet was another highlight that perfectly rounded off our visit. We highly recommend Hôtel des Horlogers to anyone who values design, culture, and nature. We can’t wait to return!
