"L'Alicanta has been on the scene for a while, perched on the banks of the River Jonte, in the exceptional setting of the Gorges du Tarn. The chef puts in a solid performance, his cooking is replete with distinct flavours and his dishes are brilliantly assembled. Everything here is home-made and the menu changes with every season. Absolutely delicious!" - Michelin Inspector

An amazing restaurant and a must for anyone visiting the Gorges du Tarn on the Aveyron side. We went in August and made a reservation because it’s summertime and usually restaurants are at capacity. so definitely call ahead. We arrive at 7 PM chose a top table on the terrace, which is covered, but they remove the awning when the sun goes down a bit. They have champagne by the glass, so I had a glass of champagne for apero and was pleasantly surprised that it came with an amuse buche. The view from the terrace is spectacular so I recommend sitting there and enjoying the sunset while eating. I started off with as cargo and wild mushrooms, the escargot didn’t have the shells so it was easy to eat with bread. I choose the lamb entrée while my husband had steak. And I had the Pavlova for dessert which was light and airy and crunchy and everything it was supposed to be, excellent! My husband chose the chocolate dessert which was equally delicious with moose and a crunchy thin outer chocolate layer. The coffee even came with a little strawberry mousse wrapped in dark chocolate, even though I was full, I couldn’t resist eating it! The service is amazing, the servers are also kind, and I will definitely be back, this is going to be my new go to restaurant when I have company because the food, the view, and the service is amazing!

I have given the rooms 5 stars because I didn't want to lower my average. However we only ate in the restaurant which was superb. Not cheap, at 90€ for two, but definitely worth it. Everything was delicious, service impeccable and friendly. Would highly recommend the restaurant and I imagine the hotel to be the same high standard.

This was a very wonderful hotel for our large tour group (over 30 people). We had to split the group between Hotel Doussiere, the hotel they also own just across the street, and the "annex" across the river. I stayed in the main hotel, which does not have an elevator (one of the other buildings DOES have an elevator so the less mobile folks stayed there). The room we very up to date, clean and fresh. We had a view of the river. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was a fresh croissant and lots of fruit, and "cottage cheese". Since we were in a large group dinner was a pre-set meal instead of ordering off a menu. I enjoyed all of the meals. They made special accommodations for people who were vegetarian, etc.||||It is a wonderful hotel, we were very fortunate to have this as our base of operation for Cevennes. I would stay there again.

We had a four-day stay in the main building of the hotel this summer, and had a room overlooking the river. which was so beautiful. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and efficient.|| The evening meals with the set menus are superb value, with a creativity and focus on regional food that is really inventive, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. the fact that so many customers are served outstanding food from a tiny kitchen by the chef, Guillaume Follenfant, is extraordinary. || We hope to be back soon.......

I actually stayed across the street in ``Le Grand Hotel des Voyageurs,'' which is under the same ownership. There's nothing more I could have asked for. The price was very reasonable. The room was spotless, comfortable, and silent. The restaurant had one of the best value meals I've ever eaten in France. The staff was super friendly. The wifi worked well.|| This is not a luxury hotel so don't expect too much, but it's exactly the sort of place I love to find when road-tripping across France. || ``Doussiere'' is slightly more upmarket (and overlook the river and the very pretty adjacent village) than ``Grand Voyageurs'' and its restaurant is a bit more gastronomic. But the price is still very reasonable. || Le Rozier is a perfectly located village at the junction of two stunning river gorges. You won't need a car here. There are endless hiking and canoeing options right from the village.

This hotel was prebooked for us through a company who arranged our accommodations while hiking the Tarn Gorges and what a lovely choice for an overnight stay. It is spotlessly clean, attractively decorated with solid wooden furniture and a lovely bed to sink into at the end of the day. Our room overlooked the river and we could either leave the window open to listen to the river or close the window and shutters for total peace and quiet. We ate our excellent dinner on the sunny terrace and could not have been happier at the end of a perfect day. Highly recommended!

Hidden in a little village this hotel/restaurant is well worth travelling out of your way to get to. A shame the weather was not good when I stayed but it was still a stunning vista. The food was excellent in the restaurant. The steak was cooked just right if it was a bit small. Room was a typical French style, toilet a bit small but a good shower all in all well worth a visit

A nice hotel in the centre of the village. The owner (presumably) was friendly and helpful, although she seemed a bit over stretched and lacking in support ( when we arrived there was quite a lot of standing around with no one taking much interest in us until she appeared). ||As is often the case with small, French hotels, a few easy tweaks would have made our experience even better. The first room we were offered overlooked the river, but the elderly electric heater didn’t work and it was freezing, so we had to change. The room we ended up with was warm and pretty, but there was no rubbish bin, the soap dispenser didn’t work, nor did the WiFi and it took us a while to locate the light switch hidden behind the bed head. The excellent restaurant, however, compensated for these failings. It was too cold to eat outside when we were there but, in the summer, breakfast on the balcony overlooking the river would be idyllic.
