The 14 Best 4-Star Hotels in Paris - AFAR

"A design-forward 26-room retreat in the Batignolles village that combines bold, patterned wallpapers and antiques with a charming garden and a neighborhood-focused restaurant that draws a fashionable local crowd for well-executed French fare. Rooms showcase distinctive palettes—suite no. 5 channels garden greenery with an Eiffel Tower–facing balcony, while the Garden Deluxe (no. 30) pairs floral wallpaper with a green-marble bathroom—and the property, despite its small size, offers a dedicated concierge to help guests explore nearby Montmartre and the Puces de Saint-Ouen flea market." - Mary Winston Nicklin

Hotel Eldorado Paris (Paris, Île-de-France) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Yes, there’s a certain cheekiness inherent in the name — after all, plenty of Parisian hotels unironically aspire to the status of a mythical city of gold, but for the low-key and unpretentiously stylish Hotel Eldorado, luxury is more a state of mind. The location, in Batignolles, is a desirable one, close to Montmartre and Pigalle but far enough from the center of the city to afford L’Eldorado some space to breathe; its courtyard garden, onto which its restaurant opens, is an extravagant benefit of its relatively low-rent locale." - Tablet Hotels

Excellent Boutique Hotel In Paris. This is a unique boutique hotel in the Montmarte district of Paris. Make sure you have the address ready for your driver because it is on a one way street and easy to miss if you’re not familiar with the area. Hotel staff was extremely accommodating and helpful with taxis, tours, restaurants recommendations and anything else you may need. The room was quiet and cozy. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant and lounge. There is also a garden for eating in fine weather. This is a relaxed neighborhood where Parisians live and shop with easy access to the main blvd for the metro and buses. The hotel will also call you a taxi if needed. |This hotel is not near any major tourist attractions so if you have limited time to see Paris it may not be for you. Walking exploring, and finding great hidden neighborhoods is the best location feature. I will definitely return.

We absolutely adore this hotel and we will definitely come back. The hotel is very well located with so many lovely shops, cafes and restaurants in the area. Our room was gorgeous and had everything you need for a stay in Paris. The staff were incredible and super helpful.

We got engaged in Paris over New Years, so the entire trip was joyful, but it was elevated beyond belief by the expert staff, and by the decadent luxury of this amazing hotel. Ilam welcomed us with a huge smile and upgraded our garden-view room to a suite that had two balconies (one with a view of the Eiffel Tower), a sauna, sitting room, and velvet covering every surface. We could not have imagined a more perfect place to stay! Ilam was so friendly and warm, as was the entire staff. We enjoyed an amazing dinner one evening at the hotel. The lounge is a welcoming space if you want to relax but not be in your room. The renovations made this hotel quintessentially Paris, with surprisingly affordable rates. Nestled in Montmarte, you’ll have plenty of great restaurants and sights nearby, as well as easy access to transportation. We can’t recommend the hotel highly enough, especially if you are celebrating anything special.

We are reviewing for the restaurant in the hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating. Relaxed atmosphere from the hustle and bustle. Loved the set up. The restaurant was located amidst a beautiful garden. Sadly we can’t say the same about the food. They were lukewarm and the fillet steak was more of a casserole or stew. Very disappointing for what it’s worth. Sorry.

This is a unique hotel, and I highly recommend it. Though it should be noted that we stayed during a glorious summer as the jewell in its crown is the garden restaurant. This large, courtyard space is blessed with mature trees so is cool in a hot summer - only dappled with gentle sunlight during the day, and at nighttime is beautifully candle lit. It is a truly Romantic setting. The food is mixed, some plates being more successful than others and the wine list is not extensive - though it should be noted that the wine by the glass is generously poured! ||We stayed in a Deluxe Garden Room and were very comfortable. The finish is excellent, and the fittings reassuringly solid (with the exception of the bath's shower head) and attractive. Whoever did the, I believe fairly recent, refurb has had fun, there is no beige here!

We arrived on Monday and were warmly greeted. Our room is simply perfect, with a lovely private terrace overlooking the garden restaurant. The decor (some have said it is quirky) is beautiful, the walls are not wallpaper but beautiful heavy linen with the pattern matching perfectly. I’ve no idea how this is achieved in the corners. Curtains match. Gorgeous luxury bathroom with marble floors. Comfortable bed. Perfect. We had a super meal in the garden, very relaxing and fun. The hotel is close to the Metro making it easy to get around. Several local bars and restaurants near by if you fancy a change. A real Birthday treat for me. Thank you to everyone here we don’t want to go home !

Google
Just found my new favorite hotel in Paris! Service was great, dining patio is dreamy and the shower… Heaven on earth. My wife and I have visited Paris many times so we now preferring staying slightly outside the city center. This is the perfect spot for us at a reasonable price. We will be returning next year :)

Google
The hotel is a beautiful, quiet oasis in the heart of Batignolles. The staff were exceptionally professional and warm — especially Claire, the events manager, who guided us through every step of our event planning. I highly recommend it for a wonderful boutique stay or a small, intimate event with an exquisite Parisian vibe.

Yelp
The best of the best. The entire staff here is incredible. Huge shoutout to Elliot, Charlotte, Agathe, Ilham, Nicholas and the many others who made the best of the best stay for myself and my colleagues. I stayed here twice in the last three months and the place is top notch. It's luxurious in the best ways without being pretentious. The rooms are all unique, with fabric drenched walls, beds with decadent linens, and bathrooms with the finest marble and tiles. You are enveloped in its cozy ambiance. Absolutely outstanding stay. Plus, the restaurant is serving up the most tasty dishes and cocktails. It's not to be missed and this is the place to with incredible touches in the every way. I cannot wait to venture back for a third time.

Yelp
Stayed at Hotel Eldorado for one brief night. Was welcomed by reception and a friendly black cat. Our room was perfect- roomy, two beds, a small table and comfortable. The woman at redemption was friendly, helpful and an absolute delight. She welcomed us after a brutal 8 hour flight and then 2 hours at customs- so we were exhausted, but she made the whole experience better. They have a great garden area that we were invited to sit an enjoy the space. It's tucked away, from the busy streets. So it's beautiful, quiet, but right in the center of all the fun. We didn't eat at the restaurant- but brought food in during their off hours and they were so incredibly nice to help us with silverware, plates, etc. when we weren't even eating their food! We had a wonderful experience at this hotel, wish we would've stayed longer here. Great location - next to a Bus Station and a delicious Patisserie.

Yelp
Lovely and inexpensive no frills hotel near Montmartre and Place de Clichy. It was easy to find, about a block from the Metro, and walking distance from the Moulin Rouge. In 15 minutes, you can be walking up the hill to the Basilica of the Sacre Coeur, where summer nights are spent picnicking on the lawn drinking wine. I chose the Hotel Eldorado as I had heard one too many horror stories about Parisian hostels, and the single room with a shared bathroom was about the same price as a bed in a hostel, plus it was time for a little privacy. The staff was very friendly and communicated well. They don't accept reservations online so I sent a credit card payment via email to reserve my room with no problems. The room faced the street and as it was the middle of a heat wave, I had to keep the windows open so it was a little noisy, but no noise from the other guests. I felt safe and that my belongings were secure when I was out and about. No issues coming home late at night either. The hotel and room were bohemian chic, bright colors and second hand chairs, reproductions of famous modern french artists lined the halls. No televisions or phones in the rooms, but free wi-fi. The shared bathroom was always clean and I never had any issues waiting to use the toilet or shower. There were several bakeries nearby, so my mornings were spent wondering the neighborhood eating fresh croissants. The hotel also boasts a gorgeous courtyard and bistro which I should have taken more advantage of. I really couldn't have asked for better accommodations for the price and location and plan to spend all future trips to Paris at the Hotel Eldorado.

Yelp
Stayed here for a few nights in early July. This is more of hostel than a hotel. The front desk service wasn't friendly (I think because my boyfriend and I are American) although they met our request to hold our luggage for us for a few hours after we checked out. The room wasn't the cleanest, but it was fine. It was right next a bar, so it got REALLY loud at night (I wouldn't stay here if you have kids) There was no AC in the room so we had to sleep with the window open. The shared bathroom was filthy, hair everywhere, a black mold-like substance on the shower walls. I read an old trip advisor review from 2015 after we arrived saying they had bed bugs, so we didn't sleep under the sheets just in case.

Yelp
I'm not one to splurge on fancy hotels, and especially after a 400 euro dinner at Lasserre, my boyfriend and I were relieved to stay at an inexpensive place for our three nights stay in Paris. Eldorado is a stone's throw from the Place de Clichy metro stop, the Moulin Rouge, and the Montmatre district. The Two Windmills Cafe (where Amelie works) is just a 5 minute walk away! I think I paid around 230 euro for a full-sized bed with private bathroom for three nights. Honestly, you can't get any better than this in the heart of Paris. The reservation was made for just one person (as they didn't have availability for two), and once the management found out there was two of us staying there, they didn't even charge us more! Awesomeness. The bathroom was clean, as was the bedding. Anytime I'm in Paris, Eldorado will be my hotel of choice.

Yelp
i miss paris already :( this hotel came up on my google search, tripadvisor and a ny times articles plus the website and the funky french music and makes me say oui! i traveled to paris (first internation solo trip) from dec. 1st to the 7th. due to availability i stayed in two different rooms - room 31 (double room for 73 euros) and room 36 (single -63 euros). in the end it was 6 nights and i think through currency exchange - i paid around $530 - cant beat that in paris! pros - its in a cooky neighborhood (montmartre area - for those Amelie movie followers - the cafe deux moulins is only 10-15 min walk away; so is moulin rouge and van goghs home!) very local - non chain simple french charm (no tv - no phone - which i was ok with - c'mon ur in paris!) within a 5 min. walk from the metro and many eateries -the bed is comfy and each room is decorated in its own wayroom 31 was my favorite - would have stayed in it during my whole stay but someone else booked it :(. cons -you cant book online or find through reg. websites like expedia, orbitz , etc- i had to call the hotel directly - which probably saves on cost - so its kindof ok -the walls are thin - when i stayed in room 31 - the only thing i heard was housekeeping (very loud) in the morning -room 36 was through a hallway and i heard the other rooms easier overall - Hotel Eldorado had a very positive impact on my trip and i will never forget it. would definitely stay here again *tip - i heard many suggestions to not stay in room 1 and to request a room facing the courtyard - better view

Yelp
I go to Paris twice a year on business, and by business I mean "to shop," which also coincidentally is my business. Anyway, I decided to go early on my most recent trip and really see the city. You know, actually be a tourist for once. I needed a place to stay that was affordable, but also not a complete shit-hole. This is hard to do in Paris, at least hard to do in the neighborhood I normally stay in. I decided to venture out of the ol' comfort zone and book the Hotel Eldorado after coming across it in an old NY Times article. It fit the bill perfectly. The room was kind of romantic in a kitschy way. The noise on the street below was laughable, but also made for more interesting nights. The neighborhood is colorful and is an enjoyable walk away from the Sacre Coeur where you can sit on the steps and have a beer while watching the world toil away. I'm not sure if the beer part is legal, but people were selling and I was buying. It isn't luxury, but it is an experience. One I'd happily have again and will remember for a long time.

Yelp
The hotel is just fine. Clean and near by metro station those are the pros. The pictures you see here were taken from the best angle, the bedrooms are different. Mattresses are old and you can feel the springs, but their biggest issue is that there is a bar downstairs and they make the biggest noises. Usually what people do in a bar, singing shouting until 3 am. So you finally get to sleep very very late.

Yelp
FR + GB Very cool place! GB: This is a typical thing to visit and experience in Paris! The European experience! Good food, good atmosphere and good people. The little "hidden" terrasse is a great pleasure and surprise when you first get in.. unsuspected treasure! try the "Tartare de boeuf".. good meat; true story! J'y retournerai!

Yelp
Over the summer, my girlfriend and I traveled to Paris, and we were so lucky to have found Hotel Eldorado in travel magazine. I loved this hotel! For about 200 euros, for a week, I consider it to be a five star. It was not fancy at all, and that is what I loved about it. Our room looked as if it were from a french movie. It was kind of small, but it was very comfortable. My only complaint would be the loud restaurant down. If you have a garden view room, as we did, you will hear the restaurant all night long so make sure you close your windows. Next time I visit Paris, I will defiantly be staying here again.

Yelp
Very, very cool little hotel. People are right to talk about how it is a little cold at night, but otherwise it is a real Parisian, one-of-a-kind hotel experience. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Paris.

Yelp
El dorado is a fine place to stay when traveling to Paris. The neighborhood is amazing !!!!!!! So close to montmarte and that should be worth five stars in itself. It's fairly cheap. Rooms are small but hey, you're in Paris so that's what you get. They also have a sweet little bar and restaurant downstairs. I only take one star away because it is awfully loud in this hotel. AWFULLY LOUD
google avatar

Joy Y.

Yelp
Quaint, friendly hotel that's simply really cheap. The location is fantastic as it's really close to the place de clichy subway stop. Reception is only open from 7am to midnight so beware of that. I had a choice between single rooms with and without toilet and neither had private showers. I went with the one with toilet as it was facing the restaurant rather than the street. THe other reviews complained about noise from the restaurant but I was there the whole weekend and didn't really hear a thing (granted I always went back to my hotel room at 11pm earliest). The single room was quite spacious and the bed was big enough for 2 people and the bathroom was also huge.

Yelp
Unfortunately I cannot agree to the comment above. I stayed at Eldorado in April 2013, and the in Lonely Planet recommended room no. 1 going out into the garden was a huge disappointment. We really aren't used to high-class hotels or luxurious accomodation, we're about 30 and love to take low-budget accommodations in order to spend our money on more interesting things BUT the cozy-sounding room looking into the garden actually looks onto the bistrot's tables. Problem is that the windows were so poorly shutting that not only the wind blew through all nite long (no heating, it was really damp and cold) but also we could listen to the conversations outdoor as if they were held right beside us. Until midnight. Very romantic. Also the room's door wasn't aligned properly which means that I could easily look through the gap (and more wind coming through). The shower was rimmed with mildew and poorly lit. One morning the fire alarm went off and for about ten (long) minutes nobody bothered to even come to look for the reason. But that's not even all. Our last morning (in that place) my boyfriend woke up because it was literally raining onto his head. In bed. The whole pillow was wet and the sheets were too. Of course this can all be unlucky coincidences but when we - I admit, angrily - went over to the reception to check out and I asked our money back for the upcoming night (we paid in advance for the whole stay, never'll do that again) I had a hard time getting it. And did not get any kind of apology or at least the aim to make it up to us. So sorrily I have to say that this place is worse than taking a sleeping bag and squatting under the Eiffel Tower (which is probably even more romantic). Oh, but true, the room was nicely decorated. By the way, in the hotel just before the cemetery we paid 5 euros more each, had heating, a clean shower and a calm and dry night.

Yelp
Unbeatable value for money / great ambiance hotel My second stay at the Eldorado and definitely not the last - I could never tire of the decor in the bedrooms and the very comfortable beds make it a real joy - the epitome of shabby chic ! What's more, the Bistro des Dames within is thoroughly recommended - good solid food and pleasant service - the snail ravioli is a must for garlic fans.
