"The same Bunkhouse brand responsible for about half of the finest hotels in Texas has expanded beyond the confines of the Lone Star State. Hotel Genevieve, in Louisville’s lively East Market neighborhood, adapts the mini-chain’s signature variety of unpretentious boutique charm to this uniquely French-influenced riverside city. It’s a new build, but one designed to fit in among downtown Louisville’s finest examples of French-inspired architecture." - Tablet Hotels

Wow! What a stunning hotel! Clean, quirky, beautifully appointed, gorgeous decor and artwork throughout, and drenched in vibrant colour palettes that will make you feel like you're in a Wes Anderson movie! Our room was large, had all the amenities we needed and more, and the whole hotel had a very luxurious and indulgent feel to it. Every member of staff that we spoke to were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooftop bar offers indoor and outdoor seating, both with magnificent views over the city. In a lovely neighbourhood - the perfect location for exploring the cool, independent shops, boutiques, eateries and restaurants of the East Market District. It's also an easy stroll to the Waterfront Park and the Big Four Bridge. We had a lovely stay!

We had a guys trip to Louisville. We wanted a hotel downtown close to all of the action. A few of us started at Hotel Genevieve. The hotel had a great location. You could walk to many places downtown or get a quick Uber. The room had a nice big comfortable bed and was decorated with a retro vibe. I had a meal voucher with my room which I used at the coffee shop. They did not have many food options. The rooftop bar was packed and service was hard to find. They had a hidden speakeasy bar which we found when we were leaving. We wanted to check it out but they were charging cover. Parking was pricey but you could park yourself around the corner for a lot les.

The valet team at Hotel Genevieve is top-notch, and I have to give special recognition to Jamie. From the moment I arrived, they were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made me feel welcome. Jamie went above and beyond — quick with service, full of positive energy, and always greeting me with a smile. You can tell he takes real pride in her work and in making guests feel taken care of. If you’re staying here, you’re in great hands with this valet crew. Thanks again, Jamie!

I enjoyed my stay here. Right downtown close to everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful..Bed was comfortable, more comfortable than Marriott in my opinion..I liked the design of this hotel. Doesn't try to be super fancy but still feels classy. Also priced fairly. Included a robe in the room. I attached a photo of it to my review. Yes I wore it. Valets were friendly and did a great job.. Definitely recommend using valet here. There is construction going on around the building but it's not the hotels fault. I was able to park and walk everywhere. I didn't need my car again until I left to go home. I plan to stay here next year when I come back.

I will start by saying I take no pleasure in writing this review. I submitted a pretty detailed (spicy) survey response with regard to my recent three-night stay and have had no follow up for 8 days so am left to assume that the hotel has no interest in our experience. ||I travel to Louisville quite often and had been to Hotel Genevieve before, for the speakeasy and rooftop bar. My last trip to town, I was so excited to see that Hotel Genevieve had become a Hyatt property (I am a loyalist) and even more pleased to see a "grand opening member rate". First, the good: the doormen and the check-in staff were super friendly upon arrival and we had a beautiful corner room. The decor is lovely and the room was quite comfortable (save the lighting, more on that below). We had a great first night; when we returned to the room after a day out, housekeeping had been there but left dirty drinking glasses on the bathroom counter, hadn't addressed a visibly overflowing trash can, didn't replace empty toiletries and wiped down no surfaces - a nightstand had a ring from a morning coffee cup and the bathroom counter had not been wiped. I went to the front desk and asked if we could at least have new drinking glasses. The young man at reception was very dry and seemed bothered by the request, but we returned from dinner to an extra set of glasses (old, dirty ones inexplicably still left on the bathroom counter) and the trash was emptied. ||The next day, we had a long day of events and returned around 6pm to find our room had not been touched by housekeeping. I was pretty miffed after the previous night's experience. I went to the front desk and found the same, dry, couldn't-be-bothered young man and said hi, so thanks for helping me with the glasses yesterday but we just got home and our room has not been cleaned. He said, "Oh, did no one tell you we do housekeeping every other day here?" In short, no, they did not. I said where is that listed? The services flyer in the room mentions daily housekeeping. I checked my app, reservations email, nothing. He said check-in staff should have notified me. Well, they did not. He said there was nothing he could do to help because it was "a weekend night". I asked if we could at least get fresh towels. When a housekeeping staffer came to drop the towels he definitely seemed confused that our room hadn't been serviced so I am still suspicious as to whether we were told the actual policy. ||EVEN IF the policy is every other day housekeeping, guests should have the choice to choose which day they would like service. We of course would have chosen the middle day if we'd had the option. So we had a three night, four day stay and our room was serviced once in that window. It was, frankly, gross. ||Lastly - Hotel Genevieve - you all have GOT to address the lighting situation in these hotel rooms. I almost didn't book after reading so many reviews complaining about the dim lighting in the rooms, but I saw a management note from earlier this year that lighting improvements were underway. It is impossible for a person to do makeup in the bathroom because the decor is so dark and the lighting is very dim. I could barely see enough to do my hair. In the mornings, I had to use a tiny mirror from one of my powder compacts to do my makeup in the corner next to a window to use daylight. At night, it was really unpleasant because there is no spot in the room that has adequate lighting to get oneself ready. Your guests should not have to experience this and if the dim lighting vibes must stay, then provide lighted makeup mirrors as a convenience - it would go a long way.

Our stay was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, every staff member we met was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The hotel was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had a calm, peaceful vibe, surprisingly quiet for being right in the heart of downtown.||||The bed was hands-down the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the décor was absolutely stunning, with every space feeling thoughtfully designed. Even with a lively, cool rooftop bar, our room was serene and relaxing. The location couldn’t be better, steps away from amazing restaurants and things to do, yet still a perfect retreat.

Google
The beds were very comfortable. Nice, quiet room with no noise from the alley or surrounding bars. The valet service is a nice option but a little slow at times because there is usually only one valet person to run and grab the car. The soap and shampoo provided is a nice brand and smells good.

We never felt my nickeled and dimed. We travel often and we can say we will never stay here again. In the room there was no iron and no water also no coffee cups. The coffee pot was in a closet and you had to set it up yourself if you wanted coffee. We were charged for the firs time a check in early fee. I stay at 4 to 5 star places every three months, always if a room is ready they check us in. Not here they want $50 for doing nothing. On top of the valet parking was the only option and it was $74.00 a night. Now they will say it is a third party. But it is the third party this hotel has chosen to do business with. Also elevator was not working, Instead of turning the elevator that was not working off, they left it on. So when you called an elevator 50% of the time the out of service one that said DO NOT USE came. So you had to go in and push a floor to send the bad elevator then call the working one again. But the biggest thing is fees are hidden and at first site this looks like a nice hotel for a fair price but once you are all in its the most expensive for the area.

Yelp
Quaint boutique hotel located centrally in NuLu. Efficient check in and out. Nicely sized rooms with comfortable beds. Hot water with great products. A large upper level bar with great river and city views is available. It has very good mixologists and outside seasonal seating Highly recommended Slainte!!

Yelp
The entire stay was a hot mess. Not to mention, I was charged for someone else's valet. It was supposedly removed twice and I received an invoice showing I didn't owe anything, but was still charged. Also, a very uncomfortable room. An overall terrible experience. Months ago before booking, I called to confirm that Hotel Geneieve honored free early check in, free room upgrade, and $50 credit from my Capital One Travel program. I was told by GM Andrew that the hotel would accomadate our 11am check. Andrew said to call the day before to make sure staff was reminded. I should also mention free parking was a part of this perks and they now charge $40+ for a lot not on the property. When calling to confirm my upgraded room, early check in, and credit; I was told the first two would not be possible. I was extremely confused, as I had confirmed this would be possible months prior. The staff said my needs couldn't be met and there was nothing they could do about it. Our entire trip was banking on an event that we had to be at by 12pm, leaving us unable to check in later. I was extremely upset (this was our anniversary vacation before a severe surgery that would leave me unable to travel or walk). The hotel refused to honor their prior accomadtions because rules changed recently (even though they still offered these perks for Capital 1 Venture X members online). Before hanging up, I asked to speak to the manager. I let Hannah know how unacceptable this situation was and that they should honor the prior. Hannah was willing to honor the free early check in at 11am due to my account being documented by the prior manager. She also mentioned I'm not the first this has happened to. I let her know that if they have stopped honoring the perks because of new ownership, this needs to be changed online - as people are booking this hotel for these perks. Intuitively, I felt like I should cancel but in an effort to salvage my husband's and my weekend (and our ticketed event), I decided to not cancel. The next morning at 11am check in, I was told there wasn't a room available and thay we would have to check in later in the day. I explained that our entire reasoning for choosing this hotel was bc of the confirmation both yesterday by Hannah and when booking by Andrew that we could indeed check in early at 11am with a guaranteed room. Magically, a room was then available. At night, we returned for dinner. They recently closed their restaurant downstairs and we had to dine on the patio. It was appetizers of sorts. The charcuterie was very basic and tasted terrible. The drinks were nothing special either. When trying to sleep that night (9pm), we called for more pillows. No one answered. We eventually gave up calling and rolled up the comforter to use as pillows - since the one pillow for my head was flat (as hotels pillows all are nowadays). Additionally, I called because a fire alarm battery wouldnt stop blinking. The AC unit was extremely bright (even at its lowest light setting) a gain, no one answered. I spent the entire night unable to sleep due to flashing lights. At checkout, staff said goodbye to us without letting us know the total. I asked for the total and they provided charges that weren't ours and trying to charge us a secpnd time for the already paid for room Additionally, our $50 credit was not applied - as requested before asking the total. This is unprofessional and a way to charge paying customers more than they paid for. An employee added valet parking to my account and more that we did not charge. The staff member said they fixed it but didn't give me a total. I asked again and they said it would be emailed and I owed nothing. I never received an email invoice and called later that afternoon, was sent the email with $200 of charges not mine. It was the same staff member, so luckily they remembered me and 'fixed' the charges. Two days ago, I checked my credit account and was charged $40... even though I have an invoice showing $0 is owed. While the hotel is beautiful, you will be charged incorrectly, and the perks they list are not honored. I reported this to management and haven't heard back.

Yelp
Found a great last minute rate for a room at the spur of the moment. Booked online, checked in and was in our room quickly. We stayed in a petite king and it was a beautiful space with a super comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Staff and security were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again!

Yelp
We stopped in here on our way to the rooftop bar and were impressed by the lovely decor and the feel of a hidden oasis so near to Market Street. What a beautiful treasure and a definite boutique hotel atmosphere. Looking forward to a return visit as a guest.

Yelp
Hotel Genevieve recently shut down their downstairs restaurant, Rosettes, to reimagine the concept; however, their upstairs bar / restaurant is open and a fantastic spot for a cocktail. They also understand how to delight you with a charcuterie board! Crave worthy. I'll be back and I'm looking forward to their new restaurant once reopened.

Yelp
Our only experience was the rooftop bar and for the second time they have no coffee and it is also a restaurant- crazy! Irish whiskey sells well. Also the servers could be more knowledgeable about the drinks which were delicious. We asked about the margarita and whether it was fresh squeezed. The server said 'we cut up limes and lemons every shift."

Yelp
Alex and Meg are amazing. Lovely ladies. They are the absolutely BEST! hotel Genevieve lucky to have them!

Yelp
I love this gorgeous hotel! The location is fantastic, right on the strip of so many cute bars, restaurants and shops. I love the aesthetic of the decor, I felt like I was staying at a place designed by HGTV. Fully stocked mini bar and snacks in the room but also a super cute mini mart in the lobby. Amazing art everywhere in the room but also the lobby. Super cute details in the room like a superb sink, lovely robe, luxurious toiletries, corduroy type couch, super cool lighting and nice shower. Stunning rooftop patio for drinks and ambiance, beautiful lobby cafe for brunch or lunch. Very welcoming and helpful front desk staff. I didn't want to leave and I can't wait to return. Thank you! What a gem!

Yelp
Such a great and cute hotel!! I'm a Louisville native that had moved to Nashville and decided to stay here when in town. The rooms were BEAUTIFUL and they gave you such a genuine and true guide to things to do in the city. The rooftop bar has great deals for happy hour (like $5 champagne!) and everyone was so friendly. We stay in Louisville hotels every 3-4 months when we come visit and this has been hands down our best one so far. We'll definitely be back to visit and stay soon!

Yelp
I'm glad I didn't go by the reviews, because I loved everything about our stay. First, I'd like go recognize a few people that made our stay so welcoming: Front desk: Logan was so sweet Valets: Blake, Corn, Alicia, and Jeff- I literally spent time hanging out with Blake and Corn during their shifts. Kids with goals and dreams, very personable, and hardworking Mini Marché (Banana Room): Kate is quiet, but Kate is cool! I miss Kate and her Louisville Fog. Rosettes: Everyone was friendly! The Review: Downtown Louisville is outdated, but going through a renovation. Genevieve is a new hotel, standing 6 floors. It's painted black and gray, and honestly you might miss it if you're not paying attention. HOWEVER, you'd be missing out! The first thing I noticed at valet was this HUGE mural covering the building next door- loved it. Upon entering the front desk is RIGHT THERE, maybe 10 ft from valet. Check-in was smooth and fast. My husband and I had a 6th floor corner room overlooking Louisville, the mural, and next to the terrace (wasn't open during our stay), and down the hall from the terrace bar. Our room was so cute! Soft comfy bed, large shower, and a fully stocked fridge with adult beverages included (for a price), 2 bathrobes, and room service came daily. I'm all things French and that's what Genevieve (jhahn-vee-ev) gives off. Oh, I forgot to mention the lobby has beautiful seating areas and several live plants. Rosettes: I recommend the pork belly and grits! Lucky Penny: Tiny, dim speakeasy. We were in town to meet our first grandchild, so we literally were the first shots poured from a bottle of Blanton's and had 2 Old Fashions. Bar Genevieve: Rooftop bar is quite spacious with panoramic views, lots of seating, and a good drink menu. The foods are worth it, too. The bartender with the red beard knows what he's doing! While, I didn't do much exploring Angel's Envy is maybe a 10 min walk. Buffalo Trace is one hour straight shot and you pass a NICE outlet mall on the way. Airport isn't far at all. I recommend the Muhammad Ali museum- maybe a 5 mins drive. Louisville Slugger museum about a 7 min walk. Churchill Downs and the amusement park are also about 10 mins away and enroute to/from the airport. There are shops, bars, and restaurants all around the hotel, but I didn't visit any as the hotel had everything we needed on hand. I hope you give Genevieve a try, because it's such a cool little personable place, not crowded and busy, because there's only 122 rooms, keeping it free flowing and not overcrowded. P.S. Valet does accept tap to pay tips and they offer a text service to call for your car- average time to receive our car was about 3 mins.

Yelp
Great views of the city! The rooftop bar has indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside a bit, but not every table has shading. The bartenders were nice! Friendly. I got a blueberry spritzer, while my friends got the espresso martini and Alter ego. Delicious and refreshing! Especially since it was hot outside. Bathrooms are clean. They have 4 unisex bathrooms. Fabulous place to hang! I loved all the decor and plants. Only drawback is the price. Drinks are a bit elevated but I think Louisville is gonna become very big city like. We also tried Rosettes. We shared the trout and burger. Generous portion sizes! Everything tasted good. It wasn't busy inside the restaurant area. Not sure if a lot of people know about this place yet. Nice staff though! Good vibes too.

Yelp
Excellent hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are very colorful and decorated to the nines. Our room was blue, but as we walked by other rooms getting cleaned, we noticed the rooms were all different colors. We will be back and hope to get a different color next time. The bed and pillows are super comfy, and the automatic blackout shades created a cave for us to sleep in. We had a corner room, so we even had a toilet closet. My hubby had to do some work, so it was nice to have a chair and table in the room. The lobby also had tables and couches that people were working from. There's a rooftop bar with excellent service, cocktails, and small plates, and a restaurant on the lobby level. Our room rate included brunch, and it was delicious food and service. The hotel is also right in the heart of th town, so there are places to eat, drink, and shop around you.

Yelp
Kicking off 2024 with a NYE giveaway at hotel Genevieve at the bar Genevieve was a blast! The bar is so classy and cute. I had a couple of drinks, danced, and walked outside to the terrace. I want to come back for brunch or another time! Such a cute place and bar. Would highly recommend checking out

Chris D.

Yelp
I've only been to the roof top bar a few times, but less than impressed by their drink selection. $40 for 2 tiny drinks is pitiful!! Definitely not worth it!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late lunch at Rosette's and we were very impressed!! We sat outside on Market St and enjoyed people watching as we sipped tasty cocktails. We tried the Dainty Diane and the Alberta's, would recommend the later! For food we both got the burger, each bite was as good as the last. Their lunch and dinner menu is the same, would love to try the chicken dish. The brunch menu looks great too - I'll have to get the girls together for that one. After lunch we decided to check out the hotel. It was like eye candy everywhere we looked. We made our way to the upstairs bar and terrace which has jaw dropping views of the city and river.

Yelp
Reservation only--even if you just want to grab a drink at the bar. We stopped by after dinner on a Saturday night and the place was basically empty but every table had a reserved sign on it. We were turned away without a reservation. Great view of the city and cute atmosphere. Would be a fun place to grab drinks with friends or a date.

Yelp
Cute bar...love the atmosphere. The drinks were a little weak and the service was slow for not being busy but all in all I enjoyed my visit and will Return.

Yelp
Ate dinner here recently with a view of the city and enjoyed the smash burger and a spicy marg. Food was flavorful, drinks were great, and the service was timely.

Yelp
Pros: The hotel was impeccably clean, and the décor was stunning! The housekeeping staff did an excellent job and truly deserve recognition for their efforts. Cons: Unfortunately, the front desk staff were not well-informed. We received incorrect information multiple times. One staff member mistakenly told us the Nulu Festival ended at 3:00 PM, though it actually continued until 10:00 PM. Additionally, we were given conflicting checkout times--one person said noon, another 11:00 AM. When we tried to stream on the TV, the Casting option was non-functional, and no one on staff could assist us, which ruined our plans for a relaxing movie night. No coffee was offered in the room and an ironing board and iron had to be brought up to us. The lighting in the rooms was very poor. The most frustrating aspect of our stay was the excessive noise. The bar downstairs played extremely loud until 2 am every night. It was torturous. It's trendy and cute but if you want good sleep, I wouldn't recommend it.

Yelp
I would NOT recommend this hotel. We stayed here on a Christmas for a fun holiday getaway. Christmas night I crawled into bed and smelled a strange smell. The pillow was dirty which made me inspect the bed. The sheets had not been changed. I will spare you all the details but it was absolutely terrible. The holiday made it impossible to find other accommodations, Or else I would've checked out and left right then! I called the front desk and the person kindly moved us but I didn't hear a word after that. No one apologized, no manager reached out. I am still months later trying to reach someone in charge. I hope they know this is happening in their hotel. It could be an amazing spot. This hotel is cute and will trick you into staying here. Do not do it!!!

Yelp
Nice place, across from popular Cuban restaurant. Ambiance is amazing. Great views. Only issue was being able to be seated at the bar one night due to staffing shortage. Breakfast at the cafe is good.

Yelp
I was staying here for a short weekend in Louisville. I wish I can give this place more than five stars. Let start off with hotel itself. The vibe is so chic and sexy. Love all the art and colors. It's in a great location, specially if you have an event to attend at the Yum Center like did. It's very walkable. They do have valet which I did but plenty of street parking. Lots of restaurants and bars in area and cute self own independent shops. Now the staff. They. Are . Incredible! Everyone is so cheerful and warm. I was having slight of a headache Friday evening and the women at the front desk went out of her way to get me ibuprofen and cough drops. Very very sweet. Wish I knew her name. Alone five stars for her. The rooms are very comfortable. The beds are like heaven. Will definitely stay at Hotel Genevieve!

Yelp
Where to begin......Hotel Genevieve is a quaint boutique hotel. The staff is professional and friendly. Our room was very clean. The rooftop bar has amazing views at sunset. The neighborhood is LGBTQ friendly. Unfortunately, the room lacked good wi-fi. The signal for the television was subpar, and the guide did not match the shows displayed on the guide. There was only one small trashcan in the bathroom. The location of our room had us facing a busy street where the noise from the street kept us awake. Cars and motorcycles constantly revving their engines. There are no darkening curtains. There are no ice machines. There is a small freezer on the floor which has a bag of ice. Oftentimes, we went for ice, and there was none. Hotel Genevieve charges ten dollars more a night for parking vs. the hotel across the street. I have mixed emotions about Hotel Genevieve. For the price, I believe amenities should not be an issue. IMO, we definitely did not get what we "paid" for.

Caroline S.

Yelp
Such a fun atmosphere with great food and drink!!!! Our server was Theresa and she was the best!!!

Yelp
Ambiance was amazing the rooftop bar has amazing view of the downtown Louisville. Service was not that great. All the young staffs probably doesn't have much experience. The charcuterie board is good and serves at least 4 people.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
What a cool place. We arrived in a stormy, dreary day, and the venue lit up our world. Prices were a bit high with cocktails at $16 per drink. The drink menu is a bit confusing... looks great but I didn't know what half of the ingredients were. Feel free to order off the menu for a classic $10 cocktail. The view is amazing. We also had the luxury of showing up during a staff drink training so we got a drink and a show. The bar tending teaching was really insightful. I will be back and encourage you to try it out! Bars on the 6th floor.

Yelp
Lovely style, wonderful food, good service. In a great part of town, and well designed Louisville swag.

Yelp
Awesome rooftop bar experience! Good drinks and decent service. The view is the best in Louisville. Will definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute, trendy new bar. The atmosphere was cute, but the cocktails were overpriced and not that great. The service was a little slow. This is downtown so you'll probably have to walk a little bit from where you park.

Yelp
This hotel is supposedly brand new, yet whomever designed the rooms should have been fired. The rooms missed the mark on almost ever level. First of all, I have never stayed in a room that had such horrible lighting. Women who need to actually look in the mirror to put on makeup, please beware. There is absolutely no light in the room. Luckily I brought a handheld mirror with me and had to sit by the window to put on my makeup. Next, the room had NONE of the following amenities: cable television, USB outlets (so, I was unable to charge my phone), a box of tissues, bottles of water, reading lamps, alarm clock (normally I set my alarm on my phone, but since I was unable to change my phone, I didn't have enough Juice to have my phone on all night so that I'd have an alarm go off in the morning), coffee maker or tea, inadequate supply of towels. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this place was shockingly inadequate. It seems like it was designed for millennials, yet they had none of the amenities that young people would want. And then, just as we were leaving the hotel room to checkout, we discovered a hairdryer and slippers IN THE CLOSET! There was an entire vanity in the bathroom that these items could've been placed under, but they were hidden in the tiniest garment coat closet I've ever had in a hotel. I am absolutely perplexed at how a hotel chain could have given the thumbs up to the designer of these poorly executed rooms. If you're going to spend $250/night on a trendy hotel, do yourself a favor and skip this hotel. One last thing- I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which was also terrible. The room was pretty, but the booths and chairs were low and extremely uncomfortable. I asked for a bagel and they had none. So I asked for toast and they brought me bread that was grilled on a skillet. It tasted like grilled cheese bread, not breakfast toast. Yuck! I ended up eating nothing and went someplace that had delicious bagels and lox. My advice to the hotel management at The Genevieve is to stop skimping on things in your hotel. Toasters are cheap, and all the room stuff I mention above is standard in any hotel, both expensive and cheap.

Yelp
Rooftop bar experience was epic. Great night. Enjoyed a beverage by the fire. Such a cool and unique spot. Wished I had stayed at the hotel. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great and something that Louisville needs. The craft cocktail menu seems expensive when you look at it. I just ordered a gin martini and it was 2/3 the price.
google avatar

Sydney E.

Yelp
Specifically the rooftop/upstairs bar area: The vibes and service are great. Really loved the blueberry spritz. We also ordered the charcuterie plate which was a nice size but I will say that there was a whole lot of pickled items (beets, carrots, onions, cabbage, watermelon, lotus root- all pickled) and for $49 I would expect a bit more of the meats/cheeses/spreads. Definitely a unique spot in town and worth a try.

Yelp
This review is not for the hotel itself but for the roof top bar and speak easy. Terrible service and terrible price points to match. I would expect at $16-$20 a cocktail that I would be provided service to match. Maybe understaffing, maybe not enough experience for the bartenders. Plan to wait a long time for a drink.

Yelp
The possibility of amazing experience bashed by terrible customer service. We were waiting for 10 minutes for the hostess to let us know there is no space, even at the bar. A quick look inside however showed empty spots reserved for individuals. Not sure about the logic here.

Yelp
The Speakeasy is a joke! We walked in, had to go to the bar to get our drink, horrible service and horrible drinks. We decided to go upstairs to the rooftop bar, and the head bartender was so rude, we got our drinks and took them back to the room. Never coming back.

Lee was the best server, and we had an amazing time!! Beautiful view, great drinks, and an awesome time.

Yelp
Disappointing Birthday Stay Rating: My birthday stay at this place was a regrettable decision. Despite paying close to $300, my dad, who stayed next door, paid only $150. The promised speak-easy was closed, and the next morning, room service was nonexistent despite being listed as an option. Waiting 45 minutes for breakfast added to the disappointment. Attempts to reach the manager, Andrew, via email were futile with no reply. Overall, a terrible experience, and we won't be returning. I received the email address from the front desk and emailed the manager Andrew 2 times with no reply and even the other manager John about our experience. BEWARE OF STAYING HERE!

Yelp
The view was gorgeous. Ordered the mini burger which was pretty mid for the price. My friends who ordered crab cakes LOVED it. Service DEFINITELY NEEDS improvement. Our waiter took forever to come back with anything. He would forget simple things that were asked for example: our orders, condiments, drink refills, Togo boxes. I had to ask 3 times for ketchup which was never brought out. Had to remind him 3 times for my Togo box.The check was also incorrect so we had to wait for him to come back and waited even longer for him to fix the mistakes.

Yelp
Had a terrible experience at the rooftop bar. For a hospitality business, this place lacks any idea of how to be hospitable to its patrons. After celebrating a birthday at the downstairs restaurant Rosettes where we were ID'ed and served drinks without any issue, we went upstairs to the rooftop bar. It was at this point that the evening was cut short and a birthday celebration was ruined. 10 of us friends of legal drinking age are from out of state and in professional school in the city of Louisville. For some reason this concept seemed entirely unbelievable to our waitress with gauged earrings (don't remember her name). After checking each of our ID's and quizzing our addresses which we answered truthfully and correctly (we are all of age with some of us being over 30yrs old), she expressed how it was suspicious to all have ID's from various states. It was at this point that we tried to explain to a hotel employee the concept that moving to a new city is just a part of life sometimes. She scoffed at this groundbreaking news and continued being rude to the whole party all while insinuating we are criminals using fake ID's and she didn't buy our "tales" of relocation. I guess the woman had never seen an out of state ID, this was strange to me considering she works in a city, at a hotel, that's just 10 min away from an airport. She then grabbed another staff who introduced herself as being the person in charge of all Hotel Genevieve bars/restaurants. This woman was equally untrained and completely incapable of letting us speak long enough to understand that our issue was with the manner in which we were being treated by our waitress, and not with the concept of our ID's being checked and tested on. She told us repeatedly it is the bars right to check our ID, WHICH WE AGREED WITH. But after her monologue she tuned-out to hearing that our problem was with the unacceptably rude and accusatory way we were being handled.   Hotel Genevieve: invest in an ID scanner and proper training for your employees so that interactions like ours can be avoided. If out of state patrons are not welcome at your establishment then maybe pivot to a new business model besides the hotel industry where guests travel from faraway places to visit your business.

Yelp
Unfortunately, had a terrible experience at the rooftop bar. Server was doing her best, but the bartenders and general manager were terrible. Multiple tables around us eventually got up and left without being served. 20-25 minutes to get another drink and eventually just cancelled the order. It was not packed, which could offer an excuse, just an inability to provide decent service. It's unfortunate because the ambiance is nice with good views. Management needs a change before the place gets run into the ground.

Yelp
Found this place on a whim while roadtripping and needing a place to stay, and we loved it so much that we planned our return around getting to stay again! Great staff, great location. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
There is a very limited dinner menu - three entrees to be exact at the hotel restaurant - Rosette. The food quality was extremely poor! We had a table of 6, two of us had the hamburger and ended up with FOOD POISONING! Found out later another friend ate there the day before same entree and also became ill. After calling the restaurant concerned for other customers it might harm, GM didn't seem to be bothered nor did they return a call.
